Part clothing, gear, and tourist shop, part ice cream parlor = 100% good stuff…read more I always love browsing here. They carry things you may need for a day at the beach, clothing from brands like North Face, Patagonia, Free People, etc. Plus local touristy gear like branded sweatshirts from local brands like M22, stickers, etc. The brands they carry aren't cheap but Leland is a pricier tourist town. The ice cream parlor serves Moomers ice cream which is some of the best ice cream out there. Here you can pick from one of 32 flavors to get on a cone, in a bowl, as a sundae, in a float, or a shake, etc. My go to flavors are usually Supermoo or Cherries Moo-boolie. The shop is one of the few in town that is not dog friendly inside (I'm guessing because of the ice cream counter) but it's ok because they also have a walk up window (for ice cream only) so anyone with a canine can still enjoy a nice scoop. It also has water and such out for your pups!

We stopped here to stretch our legs and walk the dog for a bit. It is a cute little town. This store was cute but pricey. We had kids so they all wanted ice cream. The staff was friendly and they had a cute little pup window to get us a pup cup for our husky. She loved it. My ice cream was delicious too.

There is rarely a time in the summer when there isn't a line, but it is always worth the wait. Cherry moobilee is one of our favorites! We also love sitting outside and watching the cows while enjoying our ice cream. It makes the whole experience even more special. Recently, we stopped in and ordered one of their adorable mouse sundaes, and it made my whole family so happy! Such a fun treat and such a wonderful place. We absolutely love coming here!

This place was right on the farm. Besides just regular ice cream, they had sundaes, floats,…read moreflurries, old fashioned sodas, etc. There were plenty of choices to choose from. The lengthy line moved quickly with an efficient process by the staff. An ice cream flight ($10?) was ordered. Five flavors were chosen. Each was about half a scoop I would say. The flavors I tried are below. Most of the ice cream was fulfilling, but not as creamy as I would have thought being homemade. Black Cherry - This was black cherry ice cream with pieces of Michigan cherry pieces. This was plain and did not really taste like anything except for the cherry pieces. Cherries Moobilee - This was black cherry ice cream with chocolate fudge swirl, brownie chunks, and black cherry chunks. Again, the ice cream was plain, but the pieces of everything else helped overcome that a little bit. Cherry Pie a La Mode - This was vanilla ice cream with cherry swirl and pie pieces. This was my favorite. The cherry swirl combined with the small pie pieces made for an appealing treat. Butter Pecan - This again just lacked flavor besides the pecan pieces. Lemon Raspberry - This was lemon ice cream with a raspberry swirl. This was just not good at all. The lemon did not taste like lemon at all, and there was hardly any raspberry. Even with a small portion, I would expect the swirl to be in every bite. Will I go back? Debatable.

Great food option in Suttons Bay with unbelievable prices, a great location, and hot subs so good…read morewe went back and ordered seconds. The Italian sub was amazing, and as I said, it was so good and so affordable my girlfriend and I decided to order a second one (not that the first wasn't a good portion to begin with). Thick pieces of flavorful Italian sub meat, crispy, melty, tasty cheese, toasty, fresh bread, and some solid veggie toppings. Couldn't quite tell if they actually put Italian dressing on ours, but it didn't matter. We loved it regardless! Compared to some of the other places in town, this place offers really great flexibility. You can take some subs, pizzas, or salads to go down to the beach, or do what we did and enjoy them in their very cute and peaceful restaurant. They also have a nice outdoor deck seating area with great views of the water, although there was some construction going on when we visited, so we decided to stay inside. They also have a Northwoods soda machine, which is a lot more fun than plain Coke or Pepsi for a northern Michigan adventure like a trip up to Suttons Bay. The guy behind the counter was perfectly friendly and didn't have an issue with us trying all of the different sodas. This will be a place we make into a destination next time we visit northern Michigan!

We had a rental house around the corner and it delighted me to have a little dessert and snack shop nearby. It's a walk up window specializing in soft serve treats like cones, sundaes, flurries, shakes and malts. The ice cream is smooth and dreamy! I had the turtle sundae and it was divine! My mom went for a soft serve with strawberries and we were impressed that it was chunks of fresh strawberries, not a fake syrup. My husband went with an orange float and it was made with local Northwoods soda. It was all so good! They also have a menu of savory snacks like soft pretzels, nachos, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, and sloppy joes. We kept talking about stopping by for a pretzel but it didn't work out so I can't speak much to their savory offerings, unfortunately. The stand itself is adjacent to the GT Butterfly House & Bug Zoo and, upon looking the place up online, I learned that Kettlewell's is the name of a groundbreaking moth researcher and that's the kind of nerdy trivia that I live for. Reopening May 1st so mark your calendars!
