We've been coming here before the Pandemic and I love them. They used to do my husband's dress shirts so I didn't have to wash and iron them. Those were the Good O' Days before the pandemic. Now that we don't go into the often he wears fewer of them, but I'm stuck ironing them. Not my favorite task. On the other hand he does a lot of the house work so it's a trade off. They have never failed us. He also gets his pants hemmed there. The place is a store front only . They don't do anything on sight. We don't know who they contract with, but whoever it is they do a quality job and are efficient. I posted the Hours and they are short. I like this place because it is in walking distance from home so one star for convenience and another star for pretty reasonable prices considering we are downtown. Another star for customer service, even though they might not be extra or over the top friendly, they are fair and if you're decent you'll be treated that way. An extra star for my past experiences. When I returned to inform the gal of the issue, she said "oh, it must have gotten damaged in the machine..." and she took it "back" to see what they can do. Capital Dry Clean is very small in size but in this case size does not matter! This cleaning business is conveniently located close to the Capital, many apartments and state buildings. Lately, I have not had the best experiences with cleaners near my home so I decided to bring my clothes to work and check out this place. And I was pleasantly surprised by their service and the prices! A pair of jeans, 5 men's dress shirts, 1 women's blazer totaled only $21!!! Amazing!! And all the clothes were nicely steamed/ironed, no shrinkage, no stains, no smells and ready in just a few days. One complaint, they close at 2:00 pm on Saturdays. Bad planning on my part, I failed to pick up our clothes on a Friday, Hubby needed his shirt for Saturday night dinner but by the time we got downtown they had closed. This was the ABSOLUTE worse service I have ever experienced! I spent over $50 for 4 garments and was promised they would ALL be ready on Tuesday after 2pm (dropped them off on the Thursday before) ...one of the garments(a dress) needed to be sewn(it was purchased specifically for a trip I was taking to Miami) I got there on Tuesday and everything was ready BUT the dress! The woman said she needed another day for the alterations and I can come back on Wednesday after 2pm. I get there Wednesday and it still is not ready and she said come back on Thursday. I told her I fly out at 2:30pm on Thursday and will be in right before I catch my Lyft to the airport. On Thursday at 1:30 she calls me and says it won't be ready! I told her that dress was for an event and she would need to ship it to me in Miami, and I'll pick it up and see it myself in the airport...she then said the dress is in Lodi and there is nothing she will do. I was FURIOUS and asked for a manager/owner she proceeded to laugh and said she is the only person to speak to, she then became irate with me saying "too bad" and hung up on me! I actually found a dry cleaner that doesn't give me my clothes back looking like they did absolutely nothing to them, and then just for kicks and giggles, charge me $50 (that's an ode to Swanson Cleaners for ya). I love this place. Never mind the convenience of parking in my usual spot on P St. for my daily walk into the Capitol and being able to drop off my clothes on 14th St. at Capital Dry Clean. Beside that, the service is fast and responsive, and my stuff is ready the next day after 3pm. Thanks for recognizing my dire need to wear those black Express pants ASAP-style, Capital Dry Clean! This place is hands down amazing! I took my boyfriend's authentic 49er's jersey in for a dry clean last week. I wasn't too worried about the price, I just wanted the jersey to look white again. I also took in a pair of my slacks to get the buttons fixed. Two days later, I picked up the jersey and it looked BRAND NEW! Like it was just bought! I couldn't thank the lady enough. I wish I had a before and after picture just to show you but it was perfect. AND they hemmed my slacks without even asking! Which was awesome because now I don't have to! All for $11. Having worked right around the corner and lived 4 blocks away, I used Capital Dry Clean out of convinience. However, having moved farther away and switch jobs, I tried another cleaner closer to my current locale. Lesson learned. Unless I completely move out of the downtown area, I'll never stop using Capital Dry Clean. It's has good prices (my 3-piece suits are only $15), they are quick (if you drop off before 2 p.m. you'll have it 2 days later), and they are reliable (I've never had an item come back with more stains then it had, or with less buttons or otherwise damaged). Half the time the clothes were not ready when they promised and I had to make a second trip. Worse, this place ripped me off. They charged me for 3 pants when I only brought in two ($16.50). When I tried to explain they made up excuses to charge me more like " we charge an extra quarter for each pleat". A while ago, I dropped off 14 shirts here for wash. The lady behind the counter told me that they had lost one of my shirts in the wash. The shirt that was lost was an expensive white Prada dress shirt and they would call me once it was found. I have never heard from them since, and they refuse to acknowledge my missing shirt. Don't go here! The business permit should be stripped. The owner, Manual, actually told me that he didn't care about the quality of his client's clothing. This speaks for itself. After bringing in two items for alterations, both of them were screwed up. One, irrepairably. The clerk offered to reimburse me for the cost of the Jones New York blouse that was damaged. I had worn it one time. At her request, I brought the receipt for the blouse showing the cost. Yet, the owner, Manual, refused to reimburse me. He admitted that he personally told the alternations lady to alter the items a certain way. She told him she didn't want to do it his way, but he insisted. He admitted that he had never altered an item in his life. Rather than tell the client that the alternations lady wasn't comfortable doing the alteration (his way), he proceeded to make her damage the clothing. Even after his own employees told him I needed to be reimbursed, he told me it was my fault. Interestingly enough, he reasoned that he wouldn't reimburse me for the faulty alternations because, "there was something wrong with the shirt or you wouldn't have brought it in here." read more

I have been going here for years and love it! I've never had a problem with Capital Dry Clean. I did notice a stain on a pair of pants. I'm unsure if it was from me or Capital Dry Clean, but Capital Dry Clean removed the stain for free! Only downside to Capital Dry Clean is they do not always open at the time they say; usually they're just a few minutes late. I think the cost to dry clean slacks is $6-7 a pair. read more

Conveniently located dry cleaner that does a good job at a reasonable price. They send the clothing away to be dry cleaned (no facility onsite), so if you need same day service it's not available, but the turnaround time is usually very quick - about 36 hours. They also don't perform alterations, though right next door is an alterations shop that will do the service for you then give them to the dry cleaner. Despite not having all the amenities of a full service dry cleaner, they are still my go-to location. They're friendly and always remember me, which is nice. Their hours are convenient for before and after work visits, but are also open on Saturdays (limited) which makes weekend stops possible. I've lived in Sacramento for four years, and though this Dry Cleaner isn't as good as the one I had in Los Angeles, it is the best and most affordable I've found in the downtown/midtown area. I took 3 pairs of pants in to be hemmed. I told them the measurement for the inseam. When I got the pants back, after paying for all three to be hemmed, only ONE pair was! I never made it back to complain and there are plenty of places within a 2 block radius that offer alterations that I never will go back. That was $27 wasted. read more

I would leave no stars for this place if I could. I just picked up my boyfriend's ARMY dress blues that needed to be done this week for an inspection Saturday morning. The suit was prepaid for (his mistake, not mine), and when he dropped it off he emphasized the fact that they needed to be done perfectly with specific directions. First of all, they don't offer any kind of military service discount (do they realize the men who wear these suits protect their freedom?). Second of all, one of the shirts was not done right. It came back with a small (but noticeable to an Army inspection) stain and one of the components was not pressed. I asked what could be done about this mistake and the gentleman told me he could sent it back out but it wouldn't be done until 3 pm tomorrow (we both work so there is no way either of us could pick it up after 1:30 pm), and this would not work for us. I asked then if we could get a partial discount because I will have to take the shirt somewhere else, and he said no. I asked if there was anything that could be done to resolve this issue and he called his manager. The manager did not offer any other solution. Now I have paid for a service that was done poorly and I have to figure out how to get this done by Saturday. Very poor customer service ESPECIALLY for our country's soldiers. I will be calling the manager myself tomorrow to let him know how unacceptable this is for our country's protectors. read more

Very small storefront but very convenient. Always friendly service and prices are same as places outside downtown.

They shrank four brand-new shirts beyond anything you can imagine. One shirt was three inches shorter when it came back then when it went in. The same shirts had wrinkles pressed INTO the fabric that did not exist when they went in. There was severe "iron shine" on the tips of the collars making them look instantly as if they were years old instead of brand new. These shirts were tailor-made and had not been worn even once yet. Manuel Murillo, the owner, told me he would rather lose me as a customer than reimburse me. He claimed no one had ever accused him of shrinking their clothes before, but then also said if he paid me he'd have to pay everyone else who complains. Hmmm ... I didn't think anyone was complaining (?) I've been spending more than $1,000 a year with this business for more than five years. I've had minor disappointments every now and then, but nothing like this before. You'd think a long-term customer would be worth trying to keep. Yet, Mr. Murillo offered absolutely no good faith gesture to try to make things right. I'm done. read more

I work in the Capitol and brought a few work pieces here to test it out since it's close to my job. The prices are a little higher because of its proximity to the state building and unfortunately the quality of the cleaning was not representative of the prices. I was displeased to find two of my blouses still had stains on them, especially because when I brought them I asked whether or not they thought they could clean them, to which the customer service representative responded yes. When I pointed out that two of the blouses I was charged for were not cleaned they did nothing to compensate me and said that they could charge me again to clean the two blouses I already paid for. I was dumbfounded and did not put up a fuss, but I expected better customer service and integrity from this business. I will be fair to say that 3 out of the five pieces I brought in were cleaned but still I was displeased to find that they did not offer to remove the charges for the shirts that were still stained especially since one of them was worse off than when I brought it in.
