I asked them if they cleaned tennis shoes. Yes, they said, for $25 a pair. OMG!!! Do they ever clean tennis shoes!!! My Brooks running shoes were so far gone that the cats were sleeping on them because the shoes smelled so . . . um . . . ripe. I had been watering the outside plants while wearing the shoes, so mud was their most prevalent color. I actually bought a new pair of shoes identical to these old, battered, smelly ones before I thought of asking Rytina if they cleaned old shoes. I brought them the shoes, and a few days later I picked them up, brought them home, checked them out, shrieked in delight, and wore them. They are seriously just like new. And now I have a problem: I can't tell the difference between my brand new tennies and my old Rytina-cleaned tennies. I think I have mixed up the pairs. Rytina came highly recommended by friends and coworkers and has strong reviews, but unfortunately that hasn't been our experience. Most recently, I took in a well-made jacket with a zip-in vest that I've owned and dry-cleaned for years without a problem. When I picked it up, one of the zipper pulls had come off. Even more puzzling, that side of the insert had been sewn directly to the jacket. I brought it back. A manager was very nice, but seemed to suggest I was confused about how my own jacket was constructed when I asked why anyone would sew the insert in place when it still had two other working zippers. They removed the stitching, but despite having a tailor, said they couldn't replace the zipper pull. I got the jacket back with no apology, credit or other acknowledgment of the problem. This wasn't our first issue. On another occasion, they lost several expensive items my wife had brought in. After repeatedly insisting they didn't have them, they eventually discovered the clothes had been placed under another customer's name. Again, no apology or credit for the hassle. I get it, mistakes happen. What's disappointing is the lack of accountability when they do. After two significant problems, we're not particularly interested in seeing whether the third time is the charm. read more

Let me tell you. I've stated this previously. You definitely get what you paid for. I had some athletic shoes that needed a complete refresh and a pair of jeans that I wanted a Japanese hem. One stop shop at Rytina versus going to two different places and fairly close by as well. Easy peasy parking right off Fulton Ave. This place is huge and must be the largest in the Sac area. Greeted by some friendly faces and specifically Naylea helped me when dropping off and picking up. Fantastic! Price points were fair given the level of service and the work product. Came in to see if they could get a smell out of my purse, the purse was perfectly clean inside and out before, it was just the smell I was concerned about and was there for. They let me know they would have to check in with the cleaners to see if it was possible. I then had to call in to receive a response since no one followed up. They then told me they could, when I went to go pick it up it was exactly the same. I wasted my money for nothing!!!!!! I was really excited to receive it back and I've heard great things but was super disappointed here. You couldn't ask for a better cleaning experience. Recently we had a gown that was purchased second had that some oil stains on it that went unseen by us. The gown was to be used for a wedding, so it needed to be near perfect looking and we took it in for a pressing only. We received a call and some photos via text stating that under a certain light some light stains were visible. We asked them to please do what they could. I dropped off a comforter to be dry cleaned. Unfortunately the stain did not come out and a sewing job they did was not done as great as I thought it would look. However, after contacting them regarding the stain, they offered to have me bring back the item. The service desk was able to review the stain and offer potential alternatives to lifting the stain. I had passed this place many times, but it looks like a commercial dry-cleaners from the outside. I didn't realize they did retail cleaning. I recently needed a couple of shirts cleaned and pressed for my retirement, and a friend suggested I go there. When I walked in, it was very nice, and didn't look commercial at all. I would say it was the nicest cleaners' lobby I have ever been in. I was second in line, and another lady came out from the back and offered to take my items and save me from waiting. It turns out she was the owner (Katie). I am always impressed when an owner is working their business, whether it is a restaurant or a cleaners, because it means they care and don't just hand over the responsibilities to a manager. We had a brief but pleasant chat (I mentioned my retirement), and I left. When I showed up yesterday, the person on hand told me that, per the owner, the cleaning was complimentary and "Happy Retirement". I was referred to Rytina by Couture Designs, who altered my wedding dress. I needed the gown cleaned, pressed, and preserved in a box, and Rytina seemed to provide that. I turned in my gown and was told it would be several weeks until it was done, which I was fine with. Ultimately, the cost to clean the gown was very reasonable, but the preservation seemed to be a bit more than what I expected. However, the overall cost was still very reasonable. Their free delivery service is awesome, and the person who dropped it off was very friendly. The dress came in a large box enclosed in a cotton, zippered bag that fit over the box perfectly. They also neatly folded up the garment bag I sent in and wrapped everything up in a plastic bag. I opened it up to double check on the quality of the cleaning and was very pleased to find the dress looking brand new with no dirt or grime on the train from an entire night of dancing. However, I thought the packaging of the dress could've been better, which is why one star was knocked off. First, they just shoved the skirt in without any specific folding. I understand that there are a lot of layers to the dress, and it is quite poofy at the bottom, but I figured some strategic folding would be done. I ended up pulling the dress out and neatly folding it myself to cut down on the wrinkling. Secondly, I noticed a number of dog hairs all over my dress. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but I don't expect to receive my garment back with dog hair all over it after paying $400+. I'll point out that it's not as dramatic as it sounds, as it wasn't a ton, but there was enough where I had to comb through the entire dress to pull each one out because they managed to pierce through and lodge themselves into the fabric (think wiry dog fur that gets into your clothing). This was slightly disappointing but definitely not the worst thing that could happen. Customer service is outstanding. Everyone I spoke with was nice, helpful, and very professional. Would I return? Maybe for items that aren't as near and dear to my heart as a wedding dress. read more

Jim picked up the clothes the next day and had it returned it to us within 3 days. I appreciate the convenience of their pickup/drop off service. Each person we've interacted with from Jim to Carlos have been so friendly. Carlos even returned a tiny tie bar my husband had left in the pocket of his pants that we had completely forgotten about. Looking for a professional dry cleaner to clean and preserve my wedding dress, I came to Rytina fine cleaners on the recommendation of my bridal shop. The staff at Rytina we're very upfront and honest in terms of pricing and the unfortunate damage I had done to the bottom of my wedding dress (backyard wedding with some mud and tears). They let me know they would try their best to get the dress as clean as possible without any further damage. When I got my dress back a few weeks later, I was amazed at the work that they did. I definitely wanted quality work. I called Rytina prior to making my decision, and the employee was very knowledgeable and eased my concerns. When I dropped off my wedding dress, the owner received my dress and was very informative of the type of cleaning my dress would require. It took a couple weeks to finish, but I am very pleased with the quality cleaning they provided. I especially like how the dress is stored in a breathable box and you are given white gloves to handle your dress. The box is initially placed in a plastic bag for transport from the car to your home, but the employees were adamant that the box must be taken out of the plastic to allow the material to breathe. Also, since the dress was cleaned at Rytina they will press my dress for no additional charge when it gets closer to my wedding reception next year. The service is not cheap, but I wanted quality work and that is exactly what I got. read more

After using (Rytina) for years, I have noticed a decline and quality in their work, specifically, when it comes to Tommy Bahama shirts. I dry clean the silk; but, when using their regular laundry for cotton and linen, they have been spotty at best ! Their pressing comes out very poorly in the collars and many times I end up having to redo the shirts myself. The owner told me at $4 a shirt that they will not do any touchup or pay special attention. I have noticed a decline in the quality of the service over the years and lately I have found several of the local pick up and delivery cleaners are the same price or less but the quality has been higher. (Rytina) used to be a very high-quality dry cleaner and laundry. They have had the same delivery person for years and he is wonderful! Jim would shake his head when I would show him the two identical style shirts, one fine and the other pressed completely off and he would always take it back and say he would point it out to the presser and have them fix it. Even though their dry cleaning is expensive, they do a very good job; but, for an every day short sleeve Tommy Bahama shirt to pay to have dry cleaned, in my opinion, becomes prohibitively expensive and a waste of money and wear and tear on the shirt. Katie, the owner, told me this is as good as you're going to get for a $4 (vs $12 for dry cleaning)shirt and when I asked her why does one come back fine and the next one comes back, pressed terrible (where the collars won't even close) her answer was," well that's what you're going to get". After being a customer for so many years and spending so much money with them, I thought it was a bit Cavalier and very poor customer service. You are consistent in your performance or else you just don't care. If after an almost 20 year relationship you treat your clients with attitude and disdain then it's time to relegate them to a memory. I use a dry cleaners. I have to with the nature of my job. I dropped off clothes in may, I picked them up per our agreed to date. 44 days later they called to tell me I had pieces I had neglected to pick up. Also I needed to pay an additional $40 from the $235 I had already paid. When I expressed surprise at the lack of communication prior to today. I was told, they would ask the hourly employees why they had neglected to tell me they were keeping my clothes. Also they were short staffed. Everyone is short staffed. If you can keep up the demand or institute practices to return your clients clothes, then close your business. Equally they are incredibly snotty when I woman of color come in. I had purchased my wedding dress earlier this year on discount since they discontinued the style. The dress had been tried on many times and had some pick up around the bottom and a little makeup on the inside. I spoke with the owner Katie by phone and described my needs and concerns in having my dress cleaned. Katie was very knowledgeable and explained to me the process and techniques used for these types of cleaning. We brought my dress in to be evaluated and determined it would need to be fully cleaned (as opposed to a spot treatment). They said it would take about 2 weeks and they would deliver it to my house. The first time we got it, there were just the tiniest couple of spots I wanted to have cleaned again and Rytina was able to accommodate me. First time customer dropping off a good amount of clothes. Owner provided great customer service by calling me regarding a stain/light tear in wife's dress that they were willing to take care of. First noticed there was no price sheet in public view. I personally made the mistake off not asking for standard prices. I should have known when they said "free delivery" delivery cost is in the price of the cleaning. Returned to pick up order and bill was over $400! Twice the price I'm used to paying elsewhere in the area. Thankfully I had dropped off my dress shirts elsewhere. The two employees looked at me wondering what I was going to do. What else could I do, leave the clothes there? Asked if they had a first time customer discount. "No we don't" was the response. Company is more suited for commercial cleaning/delivery and high-end delivery service. Not practical for a family of four. Katie took one look at the dress with it's accoutrements and recognized that it was all handmade, including the handmade lace and beadwork. She said that she would consult Isolde, Rytina's retired owner who specialized in and has a passion for restoring antique clothing. From that minute onward Isolde personally took charge of its cleaning, choosing what cleaning method would be best for each article of clothing. She also supervised stain removal and repairs that were needed. She kept me informed every step of the way and consulted me with choices concerning how much and depth of cleaning and repairs I wanted done. Previously, I had my wedding dress cleaned and preserved here and was very pleased with the service from beginning to end! They're knowledgeable about laundering your fine clothing and will do everything to make sure you are happy with the service of your clothing and providing excellent customer service! My husband did not immediately launder his suit since our wedding and some yellowing stains appeared on the neck of his very nice and expensive shirt. I recommended that he take it to Rytina to have it professionally cleaned. They did an amazing job and I can't seem to see any yellowing anywhere. We're completely satisfied with Rytina's work. In the market for a dry cleaners after our move into Sac nearly 2 years ago I Yelped to see what came up close to home; Rytina was in route to my intended destination so I phoned ensuring their openness as well as current address and headed down. As I handed the dark haired gal behind the counter the two dresses belonging to our 11 year old daughter both on hangers I inquired as to the costs to clean them both. Being sure to mention both dresses had just been worn once & were stain and debris free. Without even examining the items the gal rudely stated it would be over $25 EACH dress to launder them. At first I thought I must have heard her wrong so I asked to repeat the intel as the cost to launder them was more than what we paid for both dresses; combined. I'm thrifty remember? She arrogantly adjusted her posture and restated the fees to me. You have to be kidding me! No, no she wasn't. Knee length basic dresses; nothing fancy and over $50 dollars for 2 child's dresses? With no stains or marks on them? And faced with interacting with a rude arrogant woman-child on top of it all? Oh hell to the no! Politely declined her informational delivery took back our dressed and re-Yelped. This time I found our new even closer to home dry cleaners and at much more affordable pricing, friendly service and quick pick up times.
