I was passing by and decided I needed a pick me up. I was greeted at the door by someone and again at the counter by Ryn. She saw me struggling to read the menu and showed me the paper version on the counter. I asked her about the cinnamon maple cold foam latte and she said it was really good and assured me it wasn't too sweet. She was so friendly and helpful. It was nice to have such a warm interaction. My drink was ready quickly and she said it was better if you sipped from the top. She was right, it was really good. The cafe was seating was very busy with what I assume is students studying. I found my way to a cushioned nook and enjoyed my latte whilst getting a few things done on my phone. This was a nice visit. I'll be back again for more coffee when I'm in the area again. read more

Always a great experience at the Capital One UTC cafe. The parking can be difficult in the UTC mall so suggest walking or taking the transit. The space is cozy and filled with people working/studying on their laptops. Meeting nooks are also available for pre-booking. Yesterday night I ordered the Iced Gingerbread Latte and I would not recommend it. For one, it doesn't taste like ginger at all-- not even gingerbread. There was too much milk as well, usually it's better balanced. I paid ~ $3.77 for it because of the capital one cc discount. The workers were nice, menu still a little difficult to read & they have images of their specials on the counter. It was crowded, but still some seating was available. I was given one free drink voucher for Capital One Cafe (COC) over one year ago. I haven't had a chance to use it until recently. I was visiting the Westfield UTC in San Diego. There is a COC on site. I said, "Cool!" First time at a COC. Wow, it was quite nice! It had great space, great selection of coffee, teas, other beverages plus a variety of snacks. Way in the back, there is a room where you may do your banking needs. They even have an information booth near the front in case you have any general inquiries on Capital One. It's a cool place to chill, chit chat, hang out, do homework, etc. Great friendly staff. I ended up getting one of their favorite seasonal drinks... S'more Shakerato. It was fantastically tasty. It comes with shaken espresso, toasted marshmallow, chocolate, cold foam, and graham cracker crumbles. Great combination of flavors! I would definitely get it again. I am not a capital one member, but Capital One Cafe offers some solid coffee options (espresso, latte, cappuccino, etc) along with matcha, teas and other specialty or seasonal drinks. What really has me coming back is they always seem to offer plenty of promotions hooking you up with coffee. With that being said, there can be longer lines when this happens, but the staff are pretty efficient with getting orders out and they're always friendly taking orders despite the large crowds. They do offer a decent amount of seating and WiFi as well where there are always people posted up to get work done. Would definitely recommend for coffee, especially if there's a promo! read more

Capital One was one of my first credit cards. If you have a capital one card or discovery card you get 50 percent off drinks. Inside there are different seatings. Some cushioned, benches, and areas to plug in. You don't need a password to log in to wifi. I tried the drip coffee, my son got the matcha and croissant. He liked the croissant. The staff let us know that the matcha wasn't sweet and offered it to be sweetened. I prefer sweet matcha. Next time I would ask for an extra pump of sweetener. I drank my coffee black and it was perfect. No harsh after taste and it went down smooth. This is located inside the UTC mall. Parking is free for the first 2 hours and they do not validate. It is a very quiet atmosphere, and I was actually glad that nobody was approaching me and haggling me to do banking, but there were people around to talk about finances if you're interested. It's a little pricey normally for what it is, but 50% off for Capital One card holders is a nice perk. The interior of the cafe is pretty nice, and roomy with plenty of seats although it was packed full with college students on a weekday morning. The ambiance does make for a great study spot, but I was surprised that it was actually full with students since you have to pay for mall parking beyond 2 hours. Overall, great spot to grab a quick coffee while at the mall. I personally wouldn't recommend it for studying since you would have to navigate through the mall and might find seating to be completely full; you'd also have to pay for mall parking since you'd probably be there for more than 2 hours. read more

My family and I went on Monday afternoon, and they were packed! I noticed that most of the cafe was filled with students from UCSD, and I definitely understand why. The interior is modern and can accommodate quite a few people. One side of the cafe is almost entirely open, so it doesn't feel too stuffy and there is a good amount of natural light. My brother and I both ordered an iced caramel latte with oat milk. The coffee itself was somewhat watery and not as flavorful as others that I've had, but I didn't mind too much, especially with how busy they were. When I first heard about Capital One Cafe, I thought it would be a banking lobby with a break area of light eats, coffee, and tea. The suite inside the Westfield UTC Mall was actually much larger than I had expected. There was no shortage of tables or power outlets. Combined with the free WiFi signal and a back room where larger groups could congregate, it was easy to see why this cafe was a good place for studying. Peet's is the coffee brand that is carried. I saw some baked goods for sale, but they didn't have much beyond that during my visit (i.e. no salads or sandwiches). That shouldn't be a deterrent though as there are numerous options at the mall so bringing in some take-out grub will quell any hunger. I ended up ordering a large Wild Berry Hibiscus tea for a drink while I was surfing the internet on my phone. The cold tea was pretty ordinary. For food and beverages, I gave Capital One Cafe a three star rating and added another half-star for the spacious setup. read more

Today I made a deposit....and the ATM machine accepted the cash but gave NO RECEIPT. The money never appeared in my account. When I called Capital One, they opened a case and said it could take up to 45 days to investigate. I was also told that I "should've deposited in $200-$300 increments" -- which contradicts the machine's instructions and makes no sense. That ATM clearly states it can take up to 200 bills, and my deposit was nowhere near that. This isn't the first time this ATM has had problems either. It's unreliable and still in use, which is unacceptable in such a high-traffic area. The deposit was a wedding gift and Capital One's lack of urgency or accountability has caused me serious stress, both emotionally and financially. Avoid using this ATM, and honestly, think twice about banking with Capital One. They've made a terrible situation even worse. read more
