Always a great experience at the Capital One UTC cafe. The parking can be difficult in the UTC mall so suggest walking or taking the transit. The space is cozy and filled with people working/studying on their laptops. Meeting nooks are also available for pre-booking. The people who work there are very friendly and the baristas consistently churn out stellar customer service and tasty drinks. Their matcha is surprisingly good and higher quality than a lot of cafe made matcha. Plus, you get half off drinks with a capital one card!

Stopped by on a Sunday while waiting for a friend. First time at a Capital One Café and I had no idea you get 50% off drinks when you use your Capital One card. Such a good deal! I tried the Cherry Matcha Latte with oat milk and it was SO good. Service was quick! The place is massive inside with plenty of seats, an ATM, and they can even help you with banking stuff if you need it. Pretty cool for a coffee shop! Would definitely come back.

Yesterday night I ordered the Iced Gingerbread Latte and I would not recommend it. For one, it doesn't taste like ginger at all-- not even gingerbread. There was too much milk as well, usually it's better balanced. I paid ~ $3.77 for it because of the capital one cc discount. The workers were nice, menu still a little difficult to read & they have images of their specials on the counter. It was crowded, but still some seating was available. Lots of students and others on their laptops. It's a hit or miss with drinks, I will go back to ordering my fav honey lavender though.

I was given one free drink voucher for Capital One Cafe (COC) over one year ago. I haven't had a chance to use it until recently. I was visiting the Westfield UTC in San Diego. There is a COC on site. I said, "Cool!" First time at a COC. Wow, it was quite nice! It had great space, great selection of coffee, teas, other beverages plus a variety of snacks. Way in the back, there is a room where you may do your banking needs. They even have an information booth near the front in case you have any general inquiries on Capital One. It's a cool place to chill, chit chat, hang out, do homework, etc. Great friendly staff. I ended up getting one of their favorite seasonal drinks... S'more Shakerato. It was fantastically tasty. It comes with shaken espresso, toasted marshmallow, chocolate, cold foam, and graham cracker crumbles. Great combination of flavors! I would definitely get it again. I'll have to seek out other COC near where I live. Thank you COC!

I am not a capital one member, but Capital One Cafe offers some solid coffee options (espresso, latte, cappuccino, etc) along with matcha, teas and other specialty or seasonal drinks. What really has me coming back is they always seem to offer plenty of promotions hooking you up with coffee. With that being said, there can be longer lines when this happens, but the staff are pretty efficient with getting orders out and they're always friendly taking orders despite the large crowds. They do offer a decent amount of seating and WiFi as well where there are always people posted up to get work done. Would definitely recommend for coffee, especially if there's a promo!

The drinks are hit or miss depending on what you order and the sweetness level. If you want something safe, I recommend the lavender matcha latte with 25-50% sweetness or you can try the seasonal drinks! I tend to get the seasonal cold foam with a matcha latte. The drinks are made semi fast depending on the amount of people. Great place to work and study but gets crowded easily in the afternoons.

I'm reviewing this solely as a capital one customer looking to relax and enjoy a drink at this cafe. The inside is very spacious with plenty of seating. The service is prompt. The drinks are tasty and half off! No complaints. I look to come here to take a nice break every time I visit UTC

For a study cafe, this place needs way more seating. The drinks are decent and worth if you have a capital one card but the matcha is actually really good. Not bitter or fishy at all. The coffee tastes like Peet's coffee?? Maybe they use the same beans. Service here has been lowkey mid tho.

Personally I don't really need a break from shopping - if I'm at the mall, I'm in full-on go mode - but for beleaguered companions, this place offers a welcome retreat if they can't keep up! :)) My family appreciates the 50% off drinks we get as Capitol One cardholders (counter service by outside vendor Verve Coffee Roasters is friendly and efficient), but would love to see power outlets at the tables. Bar/bench seating against the walls which do isn't nearly as comfy.

Capital One was one of my first credit cards. If you have a capital one card or discovery card you get 50 percent off drinks. Inside there are different seatings. Some cushioned, benches, and areas to plug in. You don't need a password to log in to wifi. I tried the drip coffee, my son got the matcha and croissant. He liked the croissant. The staff let us know that the matcha wasn't sweet and offered it to be sweetened. I prefer sweet matcha. Next time I would ask for an extra pump of sweetener. I drank my coffee black and it was perfect. No harsh after taste and it went down smooth. This is located inside the UTC mall. Parking is free for the first 2 hours and they do not validate. We stayed for a few hours on a weekday. Dogs hung out inside.

This is a great spot to come grab a quick coffee and a bite to eat. It is a very quiet atmosphere, and I was actually glad that nobody was approaching me and haggling me to do banking, but there were people around to talk about finances if you're interested. They do have a pretty decent menu, with some seasonal specials. Only the drinks are 50% off for card holders, not the food. The avocado toast was very tasty! There was only two people working behind the counter, and service was a bit slow, around the holidays, but they were working hard!

Love this little coffee shop in the middle of UTC especially because their handcrafted drinks are half off with a capital one card. I came on a Friday afternoon and the place was busy. A lot of people were studying or working on things around the cafe but the service was fast and drinks came out quickly. I got an iced matcha latte with 2% milk and no sweetener. It was nice a milky and hit the spot for an afternoon pick me up on a hot day. I'll definitely take advantage of the half off drinks while I'm out shopping again.

Cool little spot to take a break in UTC. The drinks were made quickly and with a smile.

You have to use your Capital One card to get half off drinks. I don't believe there is a discount on food.

I want to make a formal complaint about a interaction I just had at my bank branch…read more I had just been notified that my identity was stolen and I had tried calling my bank to report it and see what charges were made to my account and the next steps I should take on my accounts. My call kept dropping when they transferred me to the right department on the phone so I just went into my normal bank branch. I first approached a gentleman at the counter to let him know what had happened and what he thinks I should do. He asked for my basic information and told me to have a seat while someone would help me. A woman (Claudia ) then approached me and asked how she could help. I was a tad panicked already and frustrated that the initial phone calls had kept dropping and explained this to her. She looked at me and said that doesn't sound right and I said agreed. She then asked for my ID to look at my account which I gave her. She then asked for charged amounts and dates. I explained I didn't have exact times / dates but I had the dollar amounts. She said she couldn't find any of those amounts. I asked her have you checked all my linked accounts with chase. She replied NO you have to do that I can't do that it's your bank. I said you can't enter the amounts and it doesn't search my transactions history to see if any of these amounts have been charged and I handed her my phone with a list of all The charges we were looking for as I had just found out and hadn't had time to look yet as this is why I am here. She just rudely said no she can't. I said I don't understand and I'll just leave because she was being rude and not helping me. I walked out and to the counter to ask if a manager could help me. A woman yelled from the back counter and said call the customer service line online. I asked there's no manager here I can talk to ? She then said fine follow me rudely walked me to the back office. Her tone and expressions were rude and belittling. I asked if she's the manager why is she being so rude. She said I walked in here already with an attitude. I said I haven't even met you before and the gentleman first talked to was kind and helpful. She said I heard you talking to the other woman. Ok then you heard I had asked her for information and she said she was unable to give it to me and then I walked over to you to ask for a manager and you said there wasn't one and now all Of a sudden you're the manager. She asked ok what can I help you with ? I explained again here is a list of possible charges to my account and I put my phone on table with frustration and anger as I just explained this to her coworker and she just lied about not being a manager. She immediately called for security to take me out. I said I would gladly leave I just want both of them biz cards and names and positions before I left. She said they don't have cards and wouldn't even tell me their names and said they don't have cards. The security guard walked over and said I needed to leave. I said not until I get information on who they are and who to contact for a complaint. She then yelled I will help you after this customer. I waited and then said why couldn't you give me this information the 1st time I asked. Then gave me a number and name. I've been calling and it's an automated message and no idea if the number even works at this point. I've been banking here for 10 years or more and have never been treated like this before. She was unprofessional and instead of descalting the situation she escalated it for no reason.

Pablo I believe it was. We couldn't start the process as I only brought 1 form of ID (apparently having 2 accounts with Chase doesn't speak to my identity). My wallet had been stolen over the weekend so I had to run home and grab another form of ID. We also needed our EIN number. I will fully admit we weren't prepared for this meeting. So we made plans to come back at 1:30 pm to complete the process. Here's the thing though, we are both working professionals, I had to move meetings and work to find that EIN number and get back to Chase, my business partner had her own things to move around to try and make the meeting. I was 30 minutes late to the meeting and I tried apologizing to the tan gentleman over the phone about that. But why does he hang up on me while I'm mid apology? Why is he so short and crass on the phone? When I arrive he says, "should we just reschedule this? You're not being respectful of my time." I'm sorry my business partner was a little behind but we are doing our best while honoring other commitments. I've worked with customers for a lot of my professional life, lie and say you have another meeting. To straight up tell a customer they aren't respecting your time is crazy. I spent an hour driving to and from this location just to be talked down to. Again we were not initially prepared, I fully admit that. But to not even offer to start the application while we wait for my business partner to show up, instead to dismiss us and talk down to me... that would never happen at my home branch in Mission Valley by the Hooters. #loveyall I spoke to a friend who banks at this location and he wasn't surprised by this interaction. We're on a time crunch so we aren't opening the account with Chase anymore, but such is life. Mission Valley Chase you have my heart and my money, blessings to my home branch.

Unfortunately, I was given Fernando Guerrero, an amoral, lazy and uneducated employee who 1. didn't understand the terms of the offer and 2. didn't take the time to simply VERIFY how to set it up correctly. During the course of the 90 days, I reached out to Fernando several times to ensure I had met the requirements for the bonus, and EACH TIME he assured me I had (again, very negligently not making a simple phone call to the promotions dept to ENSURE I had...but just SAYING I had). After 90 days; no bonus (surprise!), so I began to reach out by phone and email, and of course Fernando began dodging my calls and not replying to emails. When I finally took the initiative to explore WHY I didn't receive the bonus, it was because he had explained it incorrectly AND failed to set it up so I would get the bonus. After hiding my number, I finally got through to him, and he was very apologetic, saying he would ask for an investigation and say it was "bank error", and that he would "advocate for me" (his catch phrase, which means absolutely nothing). Come to find out, after the actual investigation took place, both he and his manager, an equally unethical Lisa Kern, denied ALL responsibility and claimed it was MY fault. Well, guess what; I recorded my calls (BOOM, SUCKAH! You're done!) and turned them into the Executive Office, who promptly did a subsequent investigation and finally gave me the bonus I was due. The point is there are some extremely hard-working and competent individuals who work for WF which is why I have been with them for so long. But at least at the Hillcrest branch, there is a culture of lying, unethical behavior and just plain laziness which could have literally prevented this entire experience with ONE phone call that never happened. This incident has now been taken to the highest levels at WF and my guess is Fernando Guerrero will take the fall for the entire experience (and his incompetence was the reason it happened), but I think from my call with the manager, Lisa Kern, that she probably told him to lie and say it was MY fault during the investigation so as to hide her lack of training/handling the situation. So, if they are both fired, let this be a testament to their lack of ethics, morals and customer skills for anyone who is considering hiring them in the future.
