Honestly it's such a vibe here. Admittedly, I come here just for that. The design of the cafe is just perfect. The see-through windows, the bar seating along the windows that open up, and the one-way traffic across the cafe...all screams cozy and articulate. I like that they post the menus outside too, in case of long lines, so that you don't flip and freak out when you get to the front and don't know what to order. What I've tried off their menu so far, were Americanos, Lattes, hot and cold. Cold drinks are my default though, you can never go wrong with iced coffee. Their white chocolate is popular, they run out quick, but regular choco does well in a pinch. I absolutely love the part where they give the cup to you at the end of the bar, for adjustments and adding in more milk/sugar. And also to see latte art before closing your cup. I don't know what it is, but that part in aspect allows you to take some time to appreciate coffee in general and then go back to the real world. It's just the little things that matter. Also, the employees are just always super uber nice here. They don't judge you for ordering two cups of coffee in one go, they actually commend the action! read more

We bought two of their Danishes last week. They did not seem very fresh and there was only a tiny - and I mean tiny almost not existent - piece of cream cheese in the middle. They are expensive and not the best quality. Go to Bread & Cie for a real pastry if you can, they are the best. read more

With so many coffee shops in the UTC area, i never had the chance to try this spot. It's been in UTC awhile and always had a line, so I figured I try it out. It's a smaller cafe and more of a grab and go situation but there's lots of outside seating. I opted for the oat latte which was pretty good and smooth! I would definitely come back to try the other stuff. read more

It functions as an upscale kiosk with standard outdoor mall seating, making it feel less like a true specialty coffee shop and more like an overhyped pitstop. The Coffee:The espresso drinks are incredibly overpriced, frequently pushing past $7 for a single beverage. For that price point, you expect a flawless, complex flavor profile. Instead, the espresso tastes completely average, falling flat and lacking any distinct richness. Paying a steep premium just to get a lukewarm drink served without ice is frustrating. Service and Food:The staff moves the line quickly, but the menu lacks flexibility. $7 for a chocolate cookie or pastry?! On top of the high base prices, expect to pay steep upcharges for standard customizations like milk alternatives or extra flavor. The coffee is always excellent here--I've been a fan since their early locations on the East Coast. Highly recommend the draft latte on tap; it's a standout and absolutely worth ordering. The space itself is beautiful. Set within the mall but housed in its own standalone brick-and-mortar building, the architecture really sets it apart and makes the place feel warm and inviting. Any time I'm at UTC mall, it's hard to resist that Oat Draft Latte. The texture is so light and smooth and almost foamy and then the flavor is also the perfect balance of sweet but not too sweet. My favorite has always been the classic but they also sometimes have seasonal flavors like smores or strawberry or pumpkin. Theres often a line out the door but it moves quick. I mean their best drink (the Oat Draft Latte) is on tap so they just have to pour and you're ready to go! read more

I was stoked to try La Columba Coffee Roasters after enjoying the canned drinks for so long. I tried the PSL on tap and it did not disappoint. It was SO light and frothy. I got an iced vanilla latte and it was strong, smooth and not too sweet. I like my coffee on the sweeter side so I added a little simple syrup. I like that they give you a spoon when you pick up your drink to mix it in and they also offer simple syrup, half and half, and sugar packets to add to your liking. Service was pretty fast. I came around 2:30 pm on a Saturday and the line was constantly out the door. I would come back to try their other drinks. read more

This is our spot. The best coffee in the area, definitely best at utc. They just always make your drink really well. My fave is white chocolate mocha with oat milk. We also really love matcha w/vanilla + oat milk. Only downside to this place is no microwave to heat the pastries/croissants. But we just take it home and toast it. The pastries are really good, so it's worth it. They never miss. Customer service is top notch. Even when they're busy they don't freak out, they just take things step by step and still provide great service. Litali (hope the spelling is right) is the sweetest barista!!!! We love seeing her every weekend. :) on Saturday and Sunday AM's we take our dogs on a walk and get our coffees here. It's a really great tradition/ritual. read more

My new favorite coffeeshop at UTC. This coffee shop is located on the Lower 1 floor between Ramen Nagi and Apple. Their drinks are made w espresso and they are very strong & rich. I got a Strawberry iced latte and a decaf latte. Now it makes sense why the line is always long here, both drinks were incredible. Prices are competitive for the area, & baristas were kind. Eventhough lines get long, after you order you get your drink pretty fast! Def worth a try! read more

This is a beautiful coffee shop at the Westfield Mall. My daughter and I went there after we had lunch because I was dying for a cup of coffee. I got a latte and although it was beautifully made, it just was too weak. The vegan chocolate chip cookie however was fantastic. I love that it was as big as my face. My daughter got an iced drink and she said it was weak also so I think they have to work on that but the people that work there were really nice and the place is gorgeous. read more

This place was a great pit stop in the mall to get coffee! The lattes were crafted well and the cookie and muffin were great. The service was friendly and so easy to say my order. How convenient having a small coffee shop within the mall -- just what I needed after enjoying a cocktail nearby. I like that there is 1 line that flows in 1 direction within this long-&-narrow, bright-&-airy shop; after ordering, one awaits their order a few steps further down the counter. The main barista was exceptionally welcoming and personable, making me feel valued and like a local from the start. While I'd only ordered straightforward cups of coffee, I was delightfully offered a small sample of their other coffee roast in case I want to order it next time! I like La Colombe coffee but I happen to always pass on this location until you feel like an ant amongst the holiday shoppers and this place is in the dead center with a fairly short and fast moving line. DECAF VANILLA LATTE - the beans were rounded, smooth, with tones of chocolate. I don't know why people are so anti-decaf. If you cannot appreciate a good cup of decaf you aren't that true coffee connoisseur. HIGHLY RECOMMEND MUFFIN - they didn't have the pastry items labeled and so I picked this by pointing and forgot all about ever it was but it was good. I love love love the nitro cold brew with oat milk from La Colombe draft! They often have seasonal options as well which are rarely over sweet and perfectly balanced! Visited here for the first time today. I ordered a hot Mocha with Oat Milk ($7). They place a spoon and lid on a plate when the drink is served to you. They leave the lid off for you to put on yourself, I assume to show the beautiful art! I agree with other reviews that if you prefer sweeter drinks it may not be for you. It took a couple sips to get used to the bitterness. I really enjoyed what I ordered though - the temperature was perfect, not too hot and I could drink it right away. I love La Colombe, though I haven't been here in a long time. Part of the reason was due to them not having large-sized drinks, but that has since changed. I did get the email about the large size addition. Their iced mochas are still one of my favorites because it is not too sweet (or I think unsweetened altogether). So good and refreshing! Service was quick and friendly. No line when we were there. Clean cafe with lots of places to sit outside. Nice vibe as this is at Westfield UTC. read more

Nice coffee from a nice brand: the only problem is that it's one of a few coffee locations in this nice mall, the line is LONG, and you will have to wait on a busy weekend/holiday for quite some time to get the great stuff in your hands. I almost walked away but there was no better option at the time and in the end ti is worth waiting for, took about 20+ minutes to get our goods. They very much need to increase the demand for capacity at peak times. read more

When pourovers are "market price" you know you're going to a coffee shop of privilege. Is La Colombe really better than all the other utra premium coffee shops in this high-end La Jolla shopping mall? La Colombe was cofounded by Todd Carmichael who starred in a short-lived TV show called "Dangerous Grounds". Even though his show was pretty good it was cancelled after two seasons ten years ago. I was always curious about their coffee and decided to try it at the UTC mall. The line out the door was slow which was frustrating because there's one register / cashier. The logjam inside is because you're forced to move down a narrow walkway where everyone is waiting for their drinks. One slow drink and the whole train of customers is forced to wait. The cynic in me thinks this isn't just poor design but it's a deliberate way to generate a long line outside and give an impression that there's something special and desirable inside. Who knows right? I agree with all of the negative reviews that mention that the service is non-existent here. La Colombe is a Philadelphia based coffee shop and perhaps that's their shtick. Dunno, but in San Diego it's called being rude. You're paying for a premium experience here but was the coffee worth the hype? No. I ordered two vanilla lattes. One with dairy and one with oat milk. The dairy came out scalding hot, the oat milk was slightly higher in temperature than lukewarm. Taste was boring for both. They have simple syrup on the bar but the coffee itself was all hype. As someone that waited 10 years to try La Colombe this is was big letdown. - Location is terrible. It's in UTC mall in San Diego CA. Great looking mall, absolute nightmare getting into and out of this mall. There's no easy-in-easy-out option if you're looking just for coffee. - You can buy small cans of La Colombe at national discount stores and liquidation stores. They even sell it at Trader Joe's. read more

ight so i got an iced oat milk latte n this shi was pretty fye i gotta admit, i don't usually even like non sweet coffee but this one had a really nice nutty flavor to it man. and it also went down the pipes real smooth as well bruh. haven't had a latte this smooth ever fr. bev also came out pretty quick as well n the staff were rly friendly here. they give you metal spoons n stuff to mix up the coffee when ur there which is sum ive never seen before but cool. definitely not your average study cafe bc its like in the middle of the mall n loud mf kids screaming n s shi as you order. would def come back tho, n will prob try the matcha read more
