Visited Capital Pizza & Steakhouse for the first time last week in years. Their crust, if you have not had it before, is always flaky golden deliciousness. The prices for your pies here are higher than most and if you attempt to build your own, the price skyrockets so I suggest sticking to one of their predesigned ones on the menu. They offer lunch specials, M-F from 11am-2pm, for $8.95 with the selection varying daily but always including a personal nooner pizza. Daily specials include everything from $3 off your second pizza to $10.95 nachos which I hear are both HUGE and delicious! Their menu is online and there are also links for coupons. http://capitalpizza.ca/ While there are several locations of this pizzeria, keep in mind that each is independently ownded and operated.

First time at this location and here are my first impressions... Hidden away in a residential neighbourhood you pull up to a small strip mall with not a lot to offer except free parking. The entrance to the restaurant has two doors side by side (lounge & restaurant) which was confusing for a second. We came for pizza take out so we picked the correct door to the restaurant side. The pizza was ready and we were warmly greeted. They provided a fridge magnet, to go menu, and told us if we used their online ordering system we could get 10% off our order. We ordered two pizzas and we all had the same reaction... too much cheese! The crust is above average for texture and flavour but all the toppings were overwhelmed by the volume of cheese! Some may say this is a good thing but I do like to taste the other toppings. The web ordering app/site does allow you to order less or more cheese and now that I know the standard they go with I'd definitely ask for less next time. I'd also say that it's quite a bit pricier then other standard pizza joints. For two large pizza's from their menu it came to $46 + tip. I usually go for Papa Murphy's pizzas so it's quite a bit more. These ones did have more toppings and much more cheese than Papa Murphy's but I seriously don't need that much cheese. I'll probably order again for convenience but not often.

This is the original Capital Pizza, and I've lived by here by entire life. I used to go here all the time as a kid and a teenager. My diet has changed significantly, so I rarely go here anymore, but I used to love so many of their foods. My favourites were the pizza, steaks, calamari, caesar salad, nachos, and lasagna--oh, the lasagna really was very good. I wouldn't bother getting burgers here, or anything like that--they are known for their pizza, steaks, and lasagna for sure! Capital Pizza has always had a very welcoming atmosphere. It's definitely one of those neighborhood restaurants you never forget. I've been to other locations, but it's just not the same. I guess it must be the nostalgia. The inside of this restaurant is really old, and the decor is way outdated, but what's exciting is that they are moving just a few feet away into a brand new building located in the parking lot! I will definitely be trying it out!

My husband and his childhood friends have been going to this local restaurant during their growing years and occasionally; when we all get together, this place is the restaurant of choice. Yes, it's in a little neighbourhood stripmall, but parking is not so bad. It's very family friendly, and we were able to be seated in 5 min despite coming in with a large group of 10. Although it's dimly lit and a little dated, it carries a very warm & comforting vibe. Service is very friendly & they know a lot about the menu & portion sizing. I appreciate the availability of high chairs here and there is a fair amount of space between tables, that my toddler was able to wander around our table with disrupting others. Food comes out fairly quick and the portions for kids is generous. Flavour wise, it's standard family friendly Italian fare, ends the hunger; tastes alright... along the lines of a Boston pizza, but with local atmosphere. My kids enjoyed the food. They actually have takeout boxes for your pizza and other menu leftovers if you can't finish. All in all, I think this restaurant is a neighbourhood gem and worth a try for sure if you are in the area looking for local family friendly eats.

The new Capital Pizza is much better than the old, original Capital Pizza. They've been in their new location (across the parking lot) for about a year now. I'm really torn about this place. I think it's mediocre at best but my grandma loves it! It's her favourite place to eat. I don't like the pizza here because it literally has half an inch of cheese on it. My arteries were mad at me after eating it, that's for sure. I recently tried a chicken wrap and it was decent. There was too much cheese in it for my liking, again, but it was pretty good. And it was huge. I could only eat half of it. It was longer than a 6 inch sub at Subway and it was thicker than my arm! The caesar salad was good but it was drowning in dressing so I didn't finish it all. The atmosphere is nice. It's sort of an Italian style. The servers that I've had are always decent. I had one that was really friendly and she did a great job. I had another one who was less friendly but did a did a great job serving so it balanced out. The prices are pretty cheap too. Capital Pizza is an OK place to go if you're on the North side of town. It's not my favourite.

Our go to place for pizza and pasta. Sooo much cheese on every pizza, you almost need a spotter when you pick up a slice.

We had the duck with risotto, truffle fries, pan seared salmon, and the homemade mac & cheese with chicken breast. All were excellent. For her - A savory-sweet mix of Ojo de Tigre Mezcal, passion fruit liqueur, blood orange syrup, lime juice, and a black salt rim. It was awesome. The hotel had an amazing gym facility and pool. I easily spent two hours in the gym as there was a variety of activities. Also, the decor was absolutely divine. The staff were getting busy when we arrived after a show at the citadel but they were quick and made sure to still check on us frequently. Fruity but not over powering. A nice amount of ice and an interesting pineapple garnish to go with an interesting drink. We were also very eager to try the brussel sprouts, which were absolutely amazing! Brussels Sprouts Elote: honey glazed Brussels sprouts and drizzled with that chipotle lime aioli, and so much feta cheese. Plus I believe a portion of sales of this dish goes to the food bank. We got seated at our table and then we waited...and waited...and waited... So the manager came by and asked us if we need anything and I replied, "Yeah a server." Apparently there was a mix up with communication and whose table was whose. It is gorgeous inside. Very sexy. Plush benches, silver tones, and blue lights. This would be a great place to be seen after a hockey game or something. Finally with our fixed menu in hand and some water. The manager asked us if we would like the wine paring for no extra charge. What a fabulous gift! We started out with the black truffle and brie aranchini. This is super rich and flavourful. Great texture on the outside and creamy goodness on the inside. My husband and I got one of each of the salads - Wedge and Ceasar. The portions were massive, so I am glad I got the wedge. I could pack it up and it was fresh and crisp the next day. Dressings on both of them were excellent I got the black sesame ahi tuna and my husband got the petite filet. Both were excellent but if I wanted to finish dessert I would have to get this packed for home. Finaly onto dessert my husband got the chocolate peanut butter bar, while I went with the strawberry pavlova. Both were fine, but the peanut butter bar was super rich. The wine pairings were excellent. Great place, even better when you have a super deal.

It was a bit too much for me, but we can't all like the same things. I think the staff might have recommended we not order two mashed potatoes, but otherwise service was sufficient and relatively attentive. Attention was given to my gf dietary needs, but no attempt at a gluten free bread was made, as has been done a similar high end establishments. Our waitress nearly gave our meal to another table, but fortunately was intercepted by another server. We arrived at 5:30 and got our meals at about 7:00. The ambiance was reminiscent of a high end pizza place- large marble topped tables to shout across. My lamb was a bit under done, but that was okay since I had allowed for that. I've had better lamb in my own home, but I admit I'm not a fan of char as the main flavour. It was very attractively plated and I liked most of the vegetables that shared the plate, excepting perhaps, one or two pieces of bitter greens. My two companions enjoyed their meals, both having ordered filet. The three of us wound up spending about $300.00, tip included.

I like this type of menu where there was enough to choose from, but not to little to feel like you don't have a choice but not too much that it is hard to choose from all the selections. Apparently Bundok was participating in downtown dining week and had a $65 dinner. We were never made aware of that. First impressions were...exceptionally poor. 1. It was LOUD. Like, had to routinely ask my dining partner to repeat themselves level loud for the entire meal. We were also greeted by the manager, who barely looked up and seemed quite annoyed, while waving us over to our table. I also sat at our table for well over 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged by our server. It's a very small space so this definitely stood out. My husband had time to go get something from the car, come back, browse the drink menu a few times and ask me if we wanted to leave before anyone came to talk to us. It was a busy night, sure but...I can't recall a time I've actually debated just leaving (and leaving a gift card behind) due to utter lack of service. When our server did come, she was quite lovely and did fantastic through the whole meal despite being new. This makes me wonder if the manager forgot to mention there was a new table. Food wise, we knew we had a gift card so we definitely wanted to use that up and then some. The drinks were...okay. Nothing notable and frankly the wine selection is better suited to the meal (their orange is lovely), but I can certainly see why Bundok has won awards for its menu. Every item, save for our striploin was delicious and perfectly prepared. The steak itself tasted like its prepared sous vide then seared, but was very rubbery in our case. Could have been that it wasn't fully to temp when seared. The black garlic sauce was nice, but overall, we could have done without that dish as a whole. If I look at the meal as a whole, removing the benefit of having a gift card, I wouldn't, and won't, be going back. Why? While the food IS wonderful, the price you'll pay (don't get me wrong, I have zero issue paying for an experience and good eats!) isn't necessarily worth poor service, and exceptionally loud (seriously, you're in a repurposed industrial loft that's supposed to feel intimate, the glass beside me was vibrating at some points) setting. This would be 2 stars and a non recommend, but the flavour of the food saved it. If you're fine with super loud and want an experience, give it a shot, but there are other places in the city that are far better for an intimate night out, have equal caliber food, and quite frankly, run laps around the service. While we're thankful for the opportunity, we'll happily pass on going back.
