He tried to charge me $750, all most $1k for two cover ups that should be $400 at the most, told me my tattoos we're shitty and he's the best tattoo artist in the city , Charlie please look at your own tattoos before speaking on someone else's. I told him I wasn't gonna post a review, but the New Yorker in me couldn't stay silent, your customer service skills are horrible and you should do better. (Mind you I had $3k cash on me, would have spent it all for better service)

He also was very open to any changes and tweaks that I wanted incorporated. The session took about 6.5 hours and John made sure we took a decent amount of breaks. On the way we passed by Dragonland Tattoo and decided to walk in and see what it's like. As soon as we walked in you could tell it was a reputable shop. The wall was covered in Best Of and NTA awards. I've been wanting to get a star tattoo for a few years now and was surprised to find that they could get me in pretty much right away, so I figured what the heck let's do it! I got a quarter size outline of a star on my right wrist and it took all of 30 minutes from when we walked in just to check it out to walking out with my tat exactly how I had imagined :) My niece's boyfriend got a rose tattoo on his forearm and was able to get in right after me. Our artist Dustin was awesome and eased my tattoo anxiety, making my experience go much more smoothly than my overthinking brain expected. I would encourage an appointment and consultation for most tattoos as we got small, simple ones that didn't really require one. I will definitely be back if I work up the courage to start the sleeve tattoo I've been thinking about getting. I would highly recommend Dragonland Tattoo, 5 stars from us!!!

Can't say anything but good about him. If you are looking for someone easy going and detail oriented he is your man. I highly recommend taking a look at his work on Instagram, he has talent. One of the things I enjoy about getting tattoos from various artists, each comes with a different vibe. Each artist gives you a small glimpse into their life story. DeonTre clearly is somebody that is worthy of knowing. Even just a short period with him, I found him to be sharp, engaging and interesting. Two hours before my original appointment, I received a call saying that my artist was sick and would not be able to make it. I completely understand that things happen and that emergencies are sometimes unavoidable, so I was willing to be understanding and rescheduled for the following week. Unfortunately, the rescheduled appointment was an even worse experience. My appointment was at 12:00 PM, and I arrived on time. I ended up waiting over an hour before my artist even showed up. When she finally arrived around 1:15, she told me she had slept in (mind you it was middle of the day) She did not appear prepared or professional, and at that point I was already extremely frustrated. Despite all of that, I still tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and waited another 30 minutes. Even after waiting all that time, none of the sketches for my tattoos had been prepared, and we still were not ready to begin. At that point, I decided I had to leave. I felt completely disrespected and as though my time, money, and excitement about these tattoos meant absolutely nothing. What made it worse was that I barely received an apology for the situation. What I find especially frustrating is that there is a non-refundable $200 booking fee required to make an appointment. If customers are expected to respect the shop's policies and pay a substantial non-refundable fee to reserve their time, then I believe the shop and artists should show that same level of respect for the customer's time. My original appointment was canceled just two hours beforehand, and when I rescheduled, I was left waiting for over two hours with an artist who wasn't prepared to work. I understand that people can get sick and that things can happen, but the way this entire situation was handled was unacceptable. I wasted hours of my time, was left feeling completely disrespected, and walked away without receiving the service I had scheduled or any meaningful accountability for what happened. I would not recommend this place based on my experience. I came in excited to get tattoos I had been looking forward to for years, and instead I left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and taken advantage of.

We had three visits for design; one where I left a deposit, one where we modified my design and one where I met my artist. Daniel was very good at listening to what I wanted -- even when I wasn't certain and modifed based on that. In my opinion he went above and beyond in this regard, and I believe he could tell I was a bit anxious, as I wanted a larger piece on my arm as a working profession. So I had high expectations and was picky and he handled it wonderfully. Daniel did a good job selecting a "transition" piece for the tattoo as well and offered me a few options. Keta was phenomenal. She helped cut some of my anxiety, was talkative, and kind. She needed help with placement as we couldn't quite get it right -- we both felt off about the spot and Daniel was happy to help with this as he had a vision. She was extremely skilled, took her time, took breaks to stay focused / sharp, and was in tune throughout my five hour (roughly) process. Her touch is light and effective. Her execution of the artwork was beyond anything i expected. My one complaint is due to numerous placements of the design, this made it challenging determining what dots were intended to be there and which weren't (may request an additional dot or two to fix evenness at some point but this is expected). When i drew this to her attention she was happy to add a few dots for evenness. Overall I am super pleased with my tattoo and am so excited to continue adding to my sleeve. I already have a follow up appointment scheduled to continue building the sleeve to add color and can't wait to see what is done with that.
