I was sat around 745P on a Monday. The daily special was Lasagna and it comes with a small salad. The server recommended the special and Italian dressing for the salad so that's what I got. The dressing for the salad was good but there was a little too much. Next time I'll ask for it on the side so I can put as much as I like. The lasagna comes out in a boat. The entire boat goes in the oven so be careful, it's HOT! The marinara is homemade and it's very good. I finished it off with the tiramisu. It was the perfect size and just the right amount of coffee. I was there for about 30-45 minutes. There were several times that I noticed the interaction between the entire staff, manager included. It seemed like a very close knit group, almost like a family. The manager passed by my table as I was wrapping up and I asked her how she was able to get a team that worked so well together. She gave me the rundown of the restaurant and how it had been in her family for 20+ years. It was refreshing to be reminded that places like this still exist. I will definitely be back. read more

I've heard good things about this place, so figured I'd try it out. Interior is cozy and well-kept, and the waitstaff friendly. No public wifi. I ordered the shrimp fettuccine alfredo. Not a very generous portion, but I can live with that. Unfortunately, it was not really worth the wait, and certainly not worth the price. It was bad. Not bad-tasting - there was no flavor to it at all. It re-defines the word bland. Even adding parmesan didn't help. Also, there was a weird chemical-ish aftertaste. I can still taste it half an hour later. In a town full of mostly mediocre restaurants, Cappizzi's is not a place I can recommend. I certainly won't be going back. read more

Long time to get drinks, waitress came twice--once to take our order and once to deliver it. She brought the complimentary bread out when the took our order and pointed to the two TINY rolls and said more are coming out of the oven soon I'll bring more. But she never did. We also asked the hostess for more bread she never came back with any or to offer any info. We had to chase down our waitress--I could see her standing around, laughing and chatting with a colleague in the service area --to get our check. If you're looking for authentic Italian food - look elsewhere. We stopped in hoping for a nice evening out with our family. We'd simply looked at the general reviews but should have looked deeper at individual reviews. The food took quite a while to get to us and once we had it - everything we ordered was lackluster and seemed prepackaged. The portions were small, the chicken breasts in both of our meals were thinly sliced and had the texture of frozen chicken breasts. The flavor was a bit bland. We ordered bruschetta as an appetizer but what we received was "their bruschetta" but not traditional bruschetta. It was literally garlic bread slapped with cheese, baked and then topped with a sliced tomatoes. That's not bruschetta. I also had to pick several inedible pieces from my salad. The service was okay. Multiple people circled to check on the tables and make sure waters were full. The ambiance was okay, kind of dark in the restaurant as a whole. The prices are somewhat fair for the quality - which is bland, lackluster, and seemed pre-prepped - but if you're wanting quality, authentic Italian food - look elsewhere. If I could give this restaurant 10 stars, I would! We had never been here, lived in town for a little over 4 years, and even though it's only 2 miles from us, it just never came about. But once we were seated, we ordered drinks, which came out immediately, then our server came over to ask if we were ready to order... we were, having looked at the menu beforehand. We ordered appetizers (fried calamari and bruschetta), which were both fantastic. With the calamari, I'm pretty iffy on the tentacles, but it was all calamari rings, and the bruschetta bread was great! I told my husband though, "STOP! If you keep eating, you won't have room for your food! (meaning his main meal, of course)" He ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and I ordered the Salmon Cremoso. He said his was really good! Fantastic! What I was flabbergasted about was MINE!!! Salmon, baked to perfection, topped with spinach, artichoke, broccoli, and alfredo sauce, on penne pasta. I honestly didn't think I was going to have room for anything after the appetizers, but after the 1st bite, I MELTED! I aaaalmost finished it! I had no more room and took the rest home! Like... 2 bites! But it was worth saving! I definitely recommend this place for both the service and the food! Our server checked on us, but not overtly, and was very diligent with any request. I'm retired, my spouse works from home. 24/7 we stay at home trying to find something of interest to do beside housework and not get on each other's last nerve. She says, "We gotta get out of here." Me, "You'll get no argument from me." Now - where to? I've taken my spouse to here and there around Texas. I thought we should expand our horizons. "Honey, I'll take you to Paris." She was so excited until I told her it was Paris, Texas. She still wanted to go but the glow was somewhat dimmed. Over a decade ago I'd eaten at an Italian restaurant in Paris. We love us some Italian ... I Yelp'd it and found Capizzi's and knew that was it - I have some old pix of a bunch of us who rode out there standing in front of the door and sign. I put the coordances in the GPS and off we went. It was pretty much the way I remembered it. Let me first say, the reason for a 3 star, I believe, was mostly due to this CoVid thing that has suppressed the food industry beyond pale. There were problems beyond that. The server was pleasant enough but honey did order the shrimp and got the chicken. Of course we got an apology and the server disappeared while I sat there and watched my veal get cold. Not a great start. The Shrimp Francese was brought to the table and we proceeded to dig in. I was told the shrimp was tasty, nice lemony flavor and plenty of it. My Veal Cacciatore was very good as well. I also enjoyed the spaghetti on the side - a nice sauce which could have use a touch more garlic but I may like more garlic that the average person. We had to ask for salt and pepper. Being a fun person with a pleasant personality is a plus for a server but getting the order right and not having to ask for seasoning would also be a plus. Overall I'd say if you want a B Italian meal, which means it is pretty good, then Cappizzi's is a good stop. It is far better than the average corporate meal you could get in any town in America. I might even edge it toward a B+ if the service was better - your mileage may vary. read more

I do not venture out in Paris to eat much due to time restrictions , but I have been here enough that they ask me if I want the usual and I like that . For me the usual is the chefs salad with grilled chicken and the house dressing. I asked for the sauce on the side, and I'm really grateful that I did, because it was quite gross.. the chicken wasn't bad, but the mushrooms were terribly salty. My bf got fettuccine with shrimp. The noodles were hard. It had plenty of sauce. However, the sauce was basically water. It was not good. The shrimp were overcooked and bland. We also got some of the fried ravioli. On our way to Oklahoma from Texas... My husband, a friend and I looked on Yelp to find an Italian restaurant... We were craving pasta and Stromboli. We were greeted kindly and sat... A young man (forgot his name) took our order... I had the lasagna, my husband the laborer ravioli and my friend had the Stromboli. It was WONDERFULLY DELICIOUS!! We had a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Just great food and homey environment. One of the staff member was having a birthday and our waiter brought us all a piece of an incredible chocolate mouse/cream cake.
