I need to preface this review by stating something that I mentioned in my review of Kelly's Pub. When I write about something on Yelp, I am rating it "for what it is." Flicker Lite is very good, for what it is. In the whole realm of food as a whole, it is not gourmet, it won't change your life, these guys are not reinventing the wheel. You won't leave here with an altered perception of what food can be. However, in the realm of cheap, casual places on the water . . . it's pretty friggin' (for future reference, can I curse on Yelp?) tasty. I've been here quite a few times. The raw bar items are always fresh, they have a sliders appetizer which is always a winner and the thin crust pizza is great. Everything is in balance. The crust is neither too cripsy, nor too limp. You're not wondering where the sauce is, but you're not eating 3 gallons of sauce with a crust n' cheese garnish. The meatballs that they offer as an optional topping are great, too. They're greasy in the good way. The way that makes you love America. Sitting outside is always cool. They have TVs out there, so you can watch sports, plus you're right on the Intracoastal. "B-b-but, but it gets so hot out." No worries, they always have some nice beer specials. The one drawback is that the service seems a little disorganized out there. The waitresses themselves are always good, but there appears to be lots of confusion. More than once, I have sat there for well over 10 minutes (I work in the biz, so this is not "Customer's Perception Time," but rather a realistic 10 minutes) without being acknowledged. Eventually, a waitress will come over and ask, "Has anyone been with you guys yet?" When we say that no one has, there is always an apology and a "What can I start you with?" From that point, there aren't any problems with service. If you want some good bar food, cheap beer (with tons of choices) and a cool place to hang out, check out the Flicker Lite. read more

Walked in a greeted right away and seated, waited about 4 minutes for our waitress to ask for drinks. Ordered the medium Chicago style original with sauce on the bottom. Area inside was kind of dark, the manager had all the blinds down. It was a cold day so I guess I understand. Restaurant was clean and tidy, did have an odd smell but not something worth crying over. Pizza took about 20 minutes due to it being deep dish. Came out hot, cheesy, and crisp and fluffy! So amazing! Definitely Chicago style. Would definitely return! read more

Service has dropped considerably over the years. I waited almost 10 minutes before a server even came over to our table, and this was on a Wednesday night at 9:30 with very little guest traffic. Capone's is a good place for pizza and beer and it is open very late. It is a good hang out for people who get off of work late. There is pool, darts, and outdoor seating. Lunch service was kind of a mess...the waitress had to be asked for everything from settings to salt and pepper...she just absolutely did not anticipate any of our needs. The ribeyes came out overcooked. Broccoli was bland. The potato was tiny. The fried mozzarella, which I used to love, was overfried, yet not hot enough inside. It took forever to get the check. We thought we were in for a treat when this place advertised Chicago style deep dish pizza. That's what initially drew us into this place. We walked in and it was open seating so we decided to sit outside. We were greeted by the guy who was working the outside bar. We ordered the mozzarella cheese which came out amazing. The wait time for the pizza was 45 minutes but it came out in about 25 minutes. The pizza is NOT Chicago style. It wasn't a very good pizza at all honestly. The sauce was very watery, at first I thought it was because they were using fresh cut tomato chunks but the pizza didn't have any tomato chunks in the sauce. The sauce wasn't the only deal breaker. There wasn't very much cheese at all in the pizza. To me it was a soupy, saucy piece of bread. We ordered several ingredients but they didn't help much with the taste. The pizza itself was sunk in the middle.. i would suggest the business or kitchen staff to come to Chicago and taste some Chicago style pizza before advertising it on their menu. I know that everyone's opinion on a good Chicago deep dish pizza differs since there are many good Chicago style pizza places in Illinois but this is insulting. read more

Even though, one of the waitress tried to make this horrible experience better, the manage/owner made the experience extra worse for us. He was not in the least apologetic. Really bad service on april1st 2018. Waited 1 hr and 15 mins for our food and the place was empty. The waitress said she was arguing with the cooks and spoke to two managers. The managers never came over to speak to the table. They never offered to adjust the bill. All the waitress kept saying was I'm sorry I really understand why you guys are frustrated. After waiting an hour and 15 minutes for food, the food was served cold. They didn't even have good garlic rolls. They were more like weights with that were served cold with very little taste. Wouldn't have given them one if I didn't have to. Went on Wednesday night about 7:20. Party of 6 and asked if they had a table outside. We waited 10 minutes and nobody came back to the hostess station to let us know. I again asked if there was an outside table, a few more minutes. Yes, it still need to be cleaned but we could go sit. We go and sit a good 10 minutes, nobody comes to clean the table but there is a clean one there with on one at it. We move. Still nobody comes by. We finally get menus. Wait another 15 minutes, no service. I go find a server, and she says oh, nobody came back to you yet. I'll have someone come to the table. Nobody comes. Finally at 8:05 we get up to leave. I go inside and ask to speak to the manger. A server asks what I need and I tell her I want the manger we've been waiting for a half hour and now we're going to leave. The charming server told me "go ahead and leave, I don't care" She apparently should look for other employment options, customer service isn't for her. I finally did speak to the Manager I believe her name was Megan. Deer in the headlights! And to top it off they weren't all that crowded. As for the food, couldn't tell you, we never got as much as a glass of water. We ended up going to the Upper Deck in Hallandale and service couldn't have been better! My fiance and I eat at this restaurant on a regular basis. It's the best mid-priced restaurant on the beach. The Sausage and Peppers are great. My gal had a caesar salad with sashimi grade tuna. When they're making the deep dish pizzas right and the sauce is good... the food at Capone's is amazing. They make a really really good deep dish pizza when they're on their game. Many years ago it was always great. Then it started to be more hit and miss... some days the pizza was great, others it was "eh." I would recommend going and trying it though. I server was very attentive, and pleasant. We ate there for a late lunch on a Sunday. We were the only table inside but the waterfront patio was packed. Fried calamari appetizer was delicious. Live in the neighborhood and thought I would give them a try. Ordered 2 pizzas, stromboli and an antipasto salad. The $10.95 salad was a bunch of antipasto salad ingredients with only one meat and one cheese with no lettuce. I had to cut up lettuce to eat it. Luck for me, it was a delivery. The stromboli was over cooked, it was actually burnt (see picture). The $18 large veggie speciality pizza was the size of every other pizza places' medium and the veggies were not fresh. Either canned or frozen toppings. The second pizza was spinach and sausage. It lacked sausage and again the spinach was globs of frozen spinach. This cozy sports bar on the water has always had the best pizza, but lately the food here has improved greatly! You can't beat the new nightly dinner specials, in addition to the regular menu. We had a filet and portobella mushroom dinner last night that was tender, juicy and cooked to perfection! Last week we had a Cuban style shredded pork dinner that was delicious, and the Surf & Turf is a nice tasty traditional plurge in an everyday beach setting without the fancy suit. Finally a casual place where you can have filet & lobster, instead of the typical cheaper version of sirloin & grilled shrimp. And without breaking the bank! We were at Capone"s Flicker Lite on Friday. We got charged twice for our check. I went to speak to the manager and he was extremely rude. Is that the way they treat their customers at Flicker Lite? All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!! Perhaps they meant to charge me twice because he was obviously in no mood to make things right.
