    a plate of breakfast food

Located across the commuter rail station, Cappa's Trackside Kitchen offers all the breakfast favorites. COFFEE: $2.99 a cup of unlimited coffee, we were asked a couple of times if we wanted refills which we appreciated. PANCAKES: I don't consider myself a pancake connoisseur so my standards aren't high at all. I enjoyed the pancakes here - it was fluffy and delicious! I would get it again. EGGS & HASH: I've been ordering a lot of eggs and hash at each diner/breakfast restaurant I visit just so I can compare. The eggs and hash were standard here and nothing too amazing but also not bad. The hash tasted like they're from the cans but I liked it because it wasn't dry. HOME FRIES: There was something about the home fries which I didn't like but was glad that they didn't fill up half the plate with potatoes as most places tend to do that. Overall, it was a standard and typical diner experience that we enjoyed and wouldn't mind coming back!

Veggie omlette with an added side of bacon! delicious!

Cappa's is my favorite local breakfast spot! It's your old school family run type of establishment with no bells and whistles pumping out great breakfast staples. When you come here you are getting a hearty meal. The portions are generous, and you are not spending a fortune! Staff is very nice and always welcoming. My go-to order is the veggie omlette, which comes with potatoes and a choice of toast. I always add a side of bacon, and it is always cooked to perfection. They also have really good buttermilk pancakes, fluffy and melt in your mouth. If this is your type of vibe, I suggest you check it out!

    Rotten sausages

The pancakes taste like the batter that was used for it was old and going bad. there is a slight bad smell along with lingering sour aftertaste. The sausage taste absolutely rotten like they have been sitting out for to long before they were cooked. The food taste like mold is growing on it! First and last time ordering from this place.

Got the Freight train breakfast plate!every thing well seasoned.

Single pancake, grilled waffle and coffee. Don't forget the bacon!

Delicious! Go early and go hungry. Be prepared to wait it out a bit, but it shouldn't be bad. These guys are pros at getting everyone in, fed and back out so more people can be seated. Keep that in mind while you're dining... Love their pancakes - thick and buttery. I always think I can eat three but I can't barely finish two and one would have been plenty. The bacon is delicious and cooked perfectly and man can they grill a bagel, mmm. The home fries aren't my style, but I tend to be weird. I love that the coffee cups are all mismatched but once in a while they could be cleaner. Overall the staff is very pleasant, but sometimes it looks like they're overworked and overtired.

2 breakfasts (specials of the day), 1 coffee and 1 kiddie OJ came out to be $24, excluding tips. Had better food elsewhere for less (prefixed brunch in south end). Unorganized and food was just ok. Table was sticky. Staff is alright and 1 hour parking available nearby. 2 table available outside but can snatch up quickly.

The 2x2 with a side of sausage patties

I ordered the 2x2 with a side of sausage patties. Good pancakes with a nice chew on the outside and tender fluffy interior. The eggs over medium were unseasoned but cooked well and the potato hash had a good crust to it. The meal was fine, nothing exceptional. It'd be nice if they cleaned the menus and creamers though

The interior is nicely decorated, and for a smaller (than most) restaurant on a busy Friday night, we got our food and drinks pretty quickly. I ordered the Caesar salad with steak - I ordered medium well but got it well done, but the added my cooked onions to the meal and I was content. My mom and aunt ordered the short rib and they enjoyed their dishes. This is a cute place to catch up with friends, go on a date, or bring the little ones. Happy this is in the area!

There are plenty of options for food, beer, wine, and cocktails, which makes it easy for groups. Service was exceptional on both visits. Friendly, attentive, and well paced without feeling rushed. That stood out and made both meals more enjoyable. Inside, the setup is comfortable and casual with a lively but manageable atmosphere. It is a good place for a meal or just drinks. The Stones is located right in downtown Stoneham and has easy off street parking, which is a plus. On my visits, I had the cheeseburger flatbread once and a steak the other time. Both were good. When I have been in others ordered the salmon, cheeseburger, and Cobb salad, and everything looked solid. No complaints from anyone. Overall, this is a reliable and easy place to come back to. Good food, strong service, and a setting that works for a range of occasions. I would come back anytime.

The menu? Vast. Like, "do-I-need-a-compass-to-navigate-this" vast, with plenty of options. It's always amusing to me how different parts of the U.S. have their own regional food quirks (like here in MA, where steak tips, roast beef sandwiches, and open-faced turkey sammies reign supreme). I was stuck between a couple of local specialties, but our delightful waitress, Haley, steered me in the direction of the Thanksgiving turkey sandwich, mentioning they roast a turkey every day (cue angels singing). I swapped out the fries for onion rings, because, duh! This sandwich? It could have fed a small village. It was a beast. A delicious beast, but an unwieldy one. I ended up abandoning the bread for the good stuff and tackled it with a knife and fork. All in all? Absolutely scrumptious. Bonus points for the bathrooms, which were clean as a whistle, and fear not! If you're afraid of missing the a Celtics 3 pointer or a Red Sox baseball toppling over the "green monstah" while nature calls, there's a giant screen perfectly viewable from the toilet. Yes, you can literally watch the game while you pee. Talk about a win-win situation!

I had a steak tip salad that, I have to say, was absolutely heavenly. The steak tips were cooked as ordered. Deliciously marinated, buttery tender and nicely seared over a most excellent salad. What makes a salad "most excellent?" you might ask. Well, I'll tell you. It was dressed perfectly. Just the right amount of a flavorful house dressing. Neither dry nor sopping. The generous portions of lettuce, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, and more were all in a perfect proportion to one another, chopped small enough to render a knife unnecessary, except for the steak tips. Last time in, I chose the Fusilli Mac and Cheese with Pulled Pork. Not only was this extremely good, it was extremely large. It provided dinner for me for two nights. There seem to be a lot of regulars here, at least in the Mondays I've been in. And the place is hopping busy. The music is good. Maybe a little loud, but, hey, I'm old. They're a jovial and friendly lot. And, Becca, the bartender, is super chill. She's friendly, attentive and she mixes a good drink and pulls a good draft. I can see myself becoming a regular!

The quality of service, food, drinks, atmosphere were all very good. Turnover here is also very good, as there was no wait for an almost-full restaurant at 7pm on a Friday evening. Drinks were flavorful, but strength seemed a bit inconsistent. My Patriot's Pour, a bourbon drink, seemed a wee bit stronger both in flavor and perceived alcohol than the martinis we were served. The ice cube with the restaurant's name in it was a nice touch. Our dinners all came out at the same time and were, as mentioned, enjoyable. I did notice that the counter in front of the kitchen, where dishes are placed waiting for pickup, seemed to have more plates on it than the could be under the heat lamps. Hopefully folks' dinners weren't inconsistent in temperature. My Thai salmon was done the way I like it, firm and crispy.
