I was craving Italian for lunch and so I ordered on line and picked up. It was very busy which is a good sign and so I was excited to try my sandwich. I ordered a large meatball on garlic bread with grilled onions and peppers with a side of sauce. It's clean and very busy during lunch so try before or after. Unless you do what I did order online! I was so excited to try that I forgot to take a picture. I tasted the meatball by itself and it was freshly made but lacked seasoning. Then I tried the grill onions and peppers, the peppers were sweet and perfect grilled texture, the onions were ok but needed seasoning. So then I tried all together and they were good, it needed seasoning! A little salt and pepper go a long way! I tried the next bite with the sauce, but it didn't add much. The sandwich was good but for $28.00 I expected more! I might try it again sometime.

Capri deli food is always, delicious and warm. This place is a must try, must have and must return. Their service this last visit was subpar to say the least. I came in around 6 PM. There was no one else in line. I waited at the counter approximately five minutes and was not acknowledged. There were 2 to 3 girls and a male working behind the counter. You would've thought I was invisible. Nothing, crickets, no I will be right with you or anything like that. Once the line had three or four more people behind me, we were finally acknowledged. Once the service debacle was over, they returned to the delicious food and service to my table was good. The dining tables need some work. They are all unlevel and wobble horribly. I did use the facility and it was clean. However, the door would not close, it needs to be realigned. As I returned to my table, imagine my surprise to see someone at my table, cleaning up and throwing my plate and bowl away. Capri Deli I don't know what is going on over there but some attention needs to be paid to repairs ASAP. Also, before cleaning up someone's table, make sure their seat is empty and they have left the facility. Customer service needs some work, sad because usually this place is top-notch.

The best sandwiches in the SGV! Capri Deli has excellent hot and cold sandwiches. On this visit sandwiches were our choice but they also have pizza, pastas, salads which are all very good.Capri Deli is always busy but the folks behind the counter do a great job filling orders and moving the line. There are products you can also pick up for that Italian dinner you're making at home. Don't forget those tasty cookies. The dining room is always clean with numerous tables inside and a few outside as well. And there is also plenty of parking. Give Capri Deli a try for a delicious sandwich experience.

Oh man, I wanted to share this with my wife but she doesn't like Rye :(
    Val G.

We were up in Azusa and looking to have lunch so someone suggested Capri. I had heard about this place in the past. My wife and I had already talked about sharing, possibly the roast beef or grinder. When I got there, I noticed that they had a Corned beef on Rye, which I should have ordered but my wife doesn't like Rye so we didn't order it. I will definitely have to come back. Place is bigger than I thought and they have lots of other options. They had lasagna's that you can put into the oven. They had plenty of salads. I had the small macaroni salad. It wasn't bad but I prefer a lot more mayo. Ended up ordering a large cold cut combo from which two of us ate and took some home. Service was great. The line was about 8 people deep but they were quick taking orders and brought the sandwiches to the tables.

Capri Deli is a staple in this area. I've been coming here since high school and it's always been a spot that will deliver a consistently good old school sandwich. I grabbed a large gabagool because I'm doing my yearly Soprano's rewatch, and it did not disappoint--freshest sandwich I've had since. It's a small family and close friend's restaurant, and you can feel that when you walk in. They can get really busy so that's something to keep in mind and reserve patience for, but it's always worth it.

Sandwiches and pasta i tried something new normally the turkey today we tried the roast beef dip, as you can see, they do not skimp on the beef. This is loaded with roast beef the bread, super soft and fresh and the roast beef has a great flavor and they give you the broth for dipping. Macaroni salad is not your typical mayonnaise different flavor, but it is very good. Family owned business lots of memorabilia when you come in everyone that works here is super friendly and very helpful..

I love this spot! I even recommended Capri to Old World Deli customers on Yelp. During my visit today, I could not believe the portion of the roast beef sandwich which for 18.00 could easily feed 2 men. I also grabbed a pastrami to-go and was shocked at how small the sandwich was, but I have to say it was so tasty. The customer service was 5 star as the staff accommodated every request I made. I will definitely be back.

You can never go wrong! Best sandwich ever! Still same quality all these years! I've been eating here for a very long time.

    Great Spot for some eats!

Ask the Community - Capri Deli

What is the Capri Deli known for because I see a lot of hits and misses in the reviews?

Cold-Cut combo TRADITIONAL WITH OIL Meatball Sausage on Garlic Bread toasted Pastrami with mustard…

So, is the pastrami ever coming back?

It's been back for over a year, not the same brand because the original brand went out of business, but it's still great

    Is the pastrami back?

No, went yesterday and they still don't have it back.

Are they still out of pastrami?

I spoke to a gentleman who was probably the owner or manager about 3 weeks ago. He said pricing on the pastrami kept increasing and he wasn't able to keep up with the rising costs. Hopefully pricing will stabilize soon and we can enjoy pastrami…

    Is alcohol served or sold?

    Yes

Do they still sell spumoni? All of the pictures I saw of it are from six years ago

I saw some in the freezer today.

    Do they sell pizza dough?

Yes, I think they still do.

    It was closed today?

That sounds like a statement and a question, all in one?

Does any one know if they are open during the social distancing?

I was there on March 18th for my birthday. They had a line to take orders but no dinning room seating.…

Do they ever sell their bread on its own?

    Yes.You can buy a dozen

    Do you sale Canolies?

No they don't but they sell everything you need to make them.

I like the dividers that give you a bit of privacy and cut down on conversational noise from other tables. The first thing we notice and LOVED was the old school mellow Italian standards they were playing. Yes! Very relaxing and set the mood. We would have sat in the bar, but there was a large group scheduled in there, so we sat in the dining room. Next time we'll try the bar room. The things that stood out were their delicious, rich sauces. The flavors were spot on. They cook their pasta perfect to my family's taste, with a bite (al dente), but done enough that it's not chewy or floury. Fair prices. And yummy desserts. We really enjoyed the tasty Crab Cake app. We all liked our pasta, particularly me, who had the Mushroom Ravioli with the same sauce that comes on the Beef and Mushroom Ravioli. I think there was a Mushroom Ravioli special with a different sauce, but they did it with the sauce I really wanted to try, which was much appreciated! We enjoyed the Spumoni pie--Spumoni ice cream with a graham cracker(?) pie crust. They also made us a traditional Affogato, because that's what my dad likes. But I want to try their version next time. I'm really excited to go back and try their pizza. We'll get one with sausage, since the sausage on my dad's pasta was really outstanding. I also want to try their Caesar Salad. Looking forward to my next visit!

I have told many people about my personal experiences here and everyone that has visited the restaurant from my suggestions were impressed with the food and excellent service. I am temporarily living out of the area, but always make Eddie's one of my first restaurant visits when I return home. My favorite food is true Italian recipe based and Eddie's uses some of the finest ingredients and seasonings I've sampled. From main courses to salads and desserts, everything is delicious and obviously prepared from scratch. Visit the restaurants website and sign up for their monthly specials. These limited edition offerings are available all month long and everyone a stand-out in my opinion. Lunch specials are a real value and the quality is never compromised. Many of the staff have been with Eddie's for ten or more years and really enjoy their jobs and wouldn't want to work anywhere else. I read a review of Eddie's made recently by a patron and needed to update my review of Eddie's made several years ago. This restaurant would not be as successful as it has been for so many years without taking good care of their guests. My experience with servers has shown that they will do anything in their power to make your visit a happy one with great food and service to match. Mike, one of the managers that I have become acquainted with over the years would not let anyone leave without their being fully satisfied with their dining experience. This restaurant truly wants to have repeat customers that look forward to each and every visit. About a 15 minute drive east of Eddie's in Glendora are two sister restaurants in the community of Claremont that Eddie has also created very successfully thanks to the expertise of Eddie demanding quality food and service for each and every guest. You can't grow to this level without giving your guest what they expect from a superior dining experience. Eddie's Italian Eatery on West Foothill in Claremont has a menu similar to the Glendora location. This location is only a bit over 20 years old, somewhat new compared to Glendora. The upscale masterpiece of Eddie's is "Tutti Mangia-Italian Chophouse" located on Harvard Ave. in historic downtown Claremont. Fine dining at its best with an elegant setting and food to match. A special treat for anyone wanting the most special evening of elegant dining. It's worth the drive to experience the menu and decor. This location has experienced 30 years of success and is a very popular restaurant in the college town of Claremont. When you visit any of the three restaurants that Eddie operates you will be well treated and served some of the most authentic Italian food available anywhere. I never hesitate to make a 15 mile drive to a restaurant that truly has exceptional food and service.

After recently reading an extremely negative review made appx 2 weeks ago about Spaghetti Eddie's,…read moreI felt compelled to share my own experience--especially as someone who has lived in this area for 50 years and has watched our community change tremendously over the decades. I remember when the Mayflower Shopping Center was thriving and nearly every storefront was occupied. Unfortunately, many businesses have come and gone over the years. But Spaghetti Eddie's is still here--41 YEARS later! That alone says something. You don't remain in business for more than four decades without doing something right. They have weathered years of change, economic challenges, and even the incredibly difficult COVID era. During that time, they adapted their operations so they could continue serving the community that has supported them for so many years. Yes, the shopping center may not look like it did years ago, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of this restaurant. In fact, on any given night, you may still have trouble finding a close parking spot because Spaghetti Eddie's is packed! When it comes to something as serious as a food allergy, however, I strongly believe we all have a responsibility to advocate for our own safety as well. If you have a severe allergy, it is always wise to double-check your order before leaving the restaurant. Placing the entire burden on a young employee--who may even be working their very first job--without acknowledging our own responsibility seems unfair. No restaurant is perfect, and mistakes can happen anywhere. But I believe a business should be judged by the overall experience it consistently provides--not defined by one incident or one extremely negative review. My family and I have always felt welcomed here. The entire staff works hard, and we have received wonderful service over the years. And I have to give a special shoutout to Manny! He is absolutely amazing at his job and someone I highly recommend. He recently suggested the mushroom soup with truffle oil--something I probably never would have ordered because I tend to stick with my favorites. I am SO glad I listened to him. It was incredible! And here's a tip: dip the bread in the soup. You can thank me later! Then there's the calamari. I order calamari almost everywhere I go, and Spaghetti Eddie's lightly cooked calamari remains one of my absolute favorites. So, before allowing someone else's negative review to make your decision for you, go experience Spaghetti Eddie's yourself and form your own opinion. Think about what 41 years in business really represents: thousands of customers, family dinners, birthdays, celebrations, first dates, longtime regulars, hardworking employees, and countless memories created around their tables. As someone who has called this community home for 50 years, I appreciate the businesses that have stood the test of time--and Spaghetti Eddie's certainly has. 41 years strong, and there's a reason for it. Give them a try. Order the mushroom soup with truffle oil, get the calamari, and enjoy your evening. Spaghetti Eddie's continues to have my support!

Many happy memories were had in the previous location and she also seemed in much better spirits back then. Food quality has gone down. The prices are reasonable, however.
