Yummm! Love me a good deli sandwich ... especially from a small mom & pop kinda shop (I also love me a good rhyme, so there's that). Lots to enjoy about this place. Great staff, great quality ingredients and plenty of regulars (so you know it's good). Tried two sandwiches from here. 1. Roast Beef: Got this with cheese and while roast beef itself is very good, i have to say the sandwich does need something more to it... maybe peppers or some kind of sauce. I think there were options to add, but I wasn't aware of that until after I purchased. 2. Cold Cut Combo: Exactly what you think it is... but that's what I wanted. Simple and delicious. No complaints here! They pack this sandwich so eating it is kind of difficult, but that's a great problem to have. Overall a great deli! Would recommend! Stay Cheerful ;) read more

I feel so lucky to love so close to such a gem!! Their sandwiches are crave-worthy. My go-to is the Cold Cut with light mayo, oil n vinegar, pickles and olives, along with all their normal toppings. The bread is so soft and fresh that even when I'm avoiding carbs, I end up giving in to their bread. If you want a hot sandwich, I recommend their Meatball Sub on Garlic Bread. Drooling just thinking about it. Grab a bottle of soda and chow down! read more

I've been coming to Capri deli for years. Great pastrami and meatball subs. Was let down with my $9 loaf of bread I mean "cold cut combo" two of the thinnest slices of meat I've ever received in a sandwich. This place is the best! The quality has never faltered over the years and the people, while usually busy are friendly and treat you like family. But, we come for the food... it's the best! Used to come only for the chicken sandwich but once I decided on a little variety I fell in live with the dips, particularly the Pastrami! This place has great root beer. Which you can see in picture. The sandwich wasn't as good as you would think it was though it is one of the first place that has got me full just by the drink. The service in the beginning was quite good until they took a long time with the root beer and we had to go ask where they were. The restroom didn't smell that good. the restroom was quite dark. Best pastrami hands down! The people who have written bad reviews dont understand Capri Deli. They get very busy and have no time to wait for you to make a decision at the fromt. You are standing in line with the menu on the wall. Make your choice while waiting and order when they call upon!!!! Also, if you order over the phone, check your sandwich. If you pay with cash, check your change! If you dont believe how busy they are, go inside around 11, order your food, sit down and eat. Just watch the anount of people that come and go. Look at the line that is out the door! These bad reviews arent reviews on the food! To the person that says they have gotten expensive, check who you voted for! read more

Don't know about all the negative reviews on service. When I went the young man was ma'am this and ma'am that...made me feel officially old but they trained this young man right. He and this other man behind the counter answered all my questions on what type of meat was what cuz I really have very little knowledge about Italian meats. I was bummed that their crispy Italian bread was out of stock so settled for sourdough bread with prosciuttini and a potato salad. Decent fare for lunch after a walk in the mountains. Will be coming back for the crispy Italian bread. read more

Called ahead to place an order and was told it would take around 10 minutes to complete so I started to head over we get there it had already closed and we called to make sure that it was indeed closed the employee said he couldn't unlock the door for us to get the food yet the one who took our order didn't say it would be closing so soon we made the order and then left the house maybe communication throughout the team is needed or maybe your employees for Christmas should all get watches after we started leaving they were all laughing read more

Haven't been here for almost 4 years since I moved out the area and that was a mistake on my part. It's still so delicious cuts and quality of meat just as good I remembered. Staff was pleasant and the pastrami did not disappoint. As always I had extra to take home for later. Big sandwich sizes and a wise variety of old fashioned sodas to compliment. I really had high hopes for this place especially walking in to long lines and happy faces, but overall the experience was just mediocre. My husband and I ordered their Turkey breast sub and the French dip. The Turkey sub was just ok with ok flavor and somewhat skimpy toppings. The French dip was pretty disappointing. Despite being stacked high with meat it lacked any real flavor. I think I'd save the money and go to subway or some other chain sandwich shop. read more

I enjoyed my sandwiches at Capri Deli and I would return if i were in the area! The sandwiches are much better than the pedestrian "sandwiches" from Subway or Jimmy John's. Is Capri Deli better than Jersey Mike's? I'm not so sure. I got a "Large Cold Cut" for about $11 and "Small Hot Pastrami" for about $9-$10. A small could satisfy a normal appetite. A large can fill you up when you are grubbing. They did not necessarily "pile on" the meats. But at the same time, they were not skimpy. Moderate meat levels. Is their pastrami significantly better than The Hat's pastrami? Probably not. But, it's just as good. Cliffs: Solid neighborhood sandwich spot! Decent parking. read more

I got rave reviews on these items that they are super good at Larios so here I am to confirm. This market is located at the corner of Barranca Ave and Arrow Highway in Covina. It's actually a meat market, but they sell produce and other food/dry items plus hot foods. It's a very small place with maybe 3-4 tight aisles. I went straight to the refrigeration area. I saw lots of different salsas and a handful of guacamole. At first glance, the appearance of the guac did not look appealing to me. It looked brown and kind of watery at the top. I was hesitant to get them, but since they were recommended, I got 3 of them. Now looking back, I should have only gotten one just to try them. It was not that great IMHO. Maybe they were not made that day and have been hanging around for a day or so. However, the roasted red salsa was really really good... I would highly recommend this one. Pico de gallo was decent. Crab ceviche was just okay... too much of the V8 taste. I ended up buying 6 containers and spent over $50 on guac and salsa. Probably more than I need. I didn't bother with the chips as they look more on the oily side. Anyway, staff was nice and helpful. Check out was fast as it wasn't super busy at the time. Parking is limited. They do have a few tables and stools outside in front of the market for those who want to eat here after their food purchase. I'm not sure if I would come back for the guac, but I may come back for the roasted red salsa and possibly their tacos and burritos.

I wish i can give this 0 stars but here we go...we have been coming here for so long ever since i was younger...i ordered a to go order over the phone...i literally went over the order with her slowly in depth so there wouldn't be any discrepancies...then when we got the order home we had a sandwich missing which apparently she didn't charge us for even though i went over the order with her then my husband went back to get the sandwich because we thought we got charged for it when he got there she said we didn't get charged for it but we still had to pay for half of it even though we had to go back and get the sandwich we ordered...then when i finally was able to eat my sandwich she made my turkey pastrami dip wrong put wrong turkey i called back asked to speak to a manager said she only heard me say turkey dip sandwich....that they can remake it and come back but we'd have to charge you for it even though she got our order wrong...lol I'm appalled...this place has gone down the tubes it's pretty sad how she didn't care about how this whole order was wrong and that her employee had made multiple mistakes already...welp sad to say won't be going back and I'll stick to Claros...they lost my business...if they keep this up they will end up shutting down especially with their older managers gone. Apparently they have a sign on the door saying they know their customer service has been lacking that they are sorry so you'd think that they'd know that this order was definitely wrong. Capri Deli is conveniently located near my job, making it a great lunch option for my coworkers and me. We decided to try it out and ordered a pizza. The parking situation can be tricky since they share the lot with other businesses, but heading to the back provides plenty of spaces. I was really disappointed with my experience at this deli. My friends and I placed our lunch orders over an hour in advance, expecting them to be ready when we arrived. Not only were our orders still not prepared, but when we finally got our food and went to the car, I checked the bags and realized an item was missing. When I went back inside to get the missing item, I had to speak with three different employees, and one of them insisted he had put it in the bag, questioning me instead of just fixing the mistake. The lack of customer service and accountability was frustrating. Mistakes happen, but the way they handled it was unacceptable. I won't be coming back. read more

Here is another racist place i am calling out.. If you are Black, Asian, or maybe Jewish, do not come here. Very last time I was here, they gave me and my girlfriend bad service. I used to come here with Vietnamese friend all the time back in the day, and they act like they didn't want us eating inside the place. The owner is a racist white man. I will not ever be coming back here again when in the area. Sandwiches are great, I love the Meatball Subs. Place is not overpriced either. Its a family owned looking place. We will stick to going to our Hebrew Kosher Sandwich places elsewhere. This place is a disgrace. read more

I visited a this charming sandwich and Italian food spot that was clean and cozy. I went in to buy frozen lasagna for dinner, which they sell in both big trays and smaller ones, making it convenient no matter how many people you're feeding. The place also offers a delightful selection of Italian cookies, spumoni ice cream, and various Italian groceries. They have a sandwich shop as well, and I have to say, their meatball sandwich is my favorite. It's always a treat! I always enjoy stopping by when I'm in the area. Capri has been my favorite deli for 41 years (remember the old Capri Deli/market on the corner with lines winding through the market to the back counter to order and back out the door!--always ended up eating at a park since there was no seating back in 1970.) Moved 80 miles away until 2009, and we would always make Capri our half way stop to San Diego or back home to Ventura County. I would often bring an ice chest to take Capri items back to Ventura County. Have never been disappointed with a meal at Capri! The customer service was disappointing, as we experienced over 12 minutes of wait time on the phone just to place our order. We were less than a minute away from the location. We were informed that our order would take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to prepare--a sandwich and an antipasto salad. Upon arriving and waiting at the counter for acknowledgment, it took at least six minutes before we were attended to. This place has to have new owners. 2nd time we have eaten the food and the food is now not tasty like it use to be. Sandwich is blan, the oil and viniger is not the SAME. The pickle is awful. My favorite macaroni salad is SO bland and not tasty. I called my daughter and she said the family sold and moved away. My husband has picked up our food to go. Their sandwiches are the best and you can pick sides like potato salad, Mac salad, etc. They have old fashioned sodas and the ambience is just the best. On the outside it looks like a strip mall but once you step through the doors, the decor and tables look clean, neat and tidy. The kitchen also appears to be neat and clean. I am disappointed that the drinks took a little longer and the server took a little while to come around to check on me. My biggest disappointment with this place is instead of having Diet Coke. They switched to Coke zero. It is a nice tiny little gem, once you step inside you forget what's going on outdoors because it is nice in here. Music is on point and very relaxing.

The manager never came, we saw a woman Asian employee who looked like the manager & asked her if she was the manager she said kind of not really but asked if there was something she could help with. We just told her nothing we were waiting for the manager. Still no one came. The food was awful flies all inside the building. My husband took our 4 year old to the restroom and immediately said EWW. Restrooms disgusting. We got the check and our server told us she only charged us for the adult plates and not the kids plates bc of what happened with our son falling.
