This may be the worst place to try and go. The employees do not care about customers one bit and neither does management. They nearly killed my mother but putting mushrooms which she is deathly allergic to on her cheesesteak and when I reached out I was ignored. I went to corporate, they told me the manager would reach out, never did. On top of that the food quality compared to others is absolutely atrocious. They also don't have consistent hours and seem to close whenever they please. Same thing with the app. I'll try and order online and it'll say they're closed but the second I call they either tell me they decided to close early or aren't taking more orders with no explanation and just hang up. Was excited to try Capriotti's today with my son. Very disappointed to say the least. I am not one to write reviews One of the screens was unreadable, not a problem I grabbed a menu The girl taking my order was ok. No pleasantries, just there Ordered a large Cheesesteak to slit and a few sodas. Told her I was eating in. After waiting 15 min and others eating and finishing their food I walked up to see what was taking so long. My sandwich was and had been sitting on the counter behind the register. Opened the wrapper and honestly hardly any meat. Literally you could not even nicely fill a 6" roll with the amount of meat. I asked the stuff and showed he if this was normal and she say yes. She and another worker proceeded to laugh as they looked at me I'm all for paying $ for good food and service, and like I said never write reviews but I would higher recommend if you are hunger and or appreciate a little meat on your cheesesteak then definitely look for another place. read more

Will NEVER order from Capriotti's RT 8 again! Placed an order for 2 medium Capastramis with extra cheese and extra dressing. Got home and it was 2 small sandwiches with nothing we ordered. Called the store only to speak to a rude and nonunderstanding manager. She admitted they mistakenly gave us and was charged for smalls but told us since we weren't charged for the extras, they couldn't remake. I expect when I place an order to have said order CORRECT and when the ESTABLISMENT is the one making the mistake, THEY should be the one to correct it--not at the expense of the customer. She then called her GENERAL MANAGER-DAQUAN and he was NO HELP. We said to return the money to our credit card which she claims they will do...THE NERVE...CAPRIOTTI'S makes the mistake and we as the customer suffer. My recent vist to capriottis sub shop on independence blvd in dover de was bad. The order was not as I requested. My side condiment was not included and my oil and pickles were not on the sub. And for 22 bucks The sandwich was more lettuce than meat! Gas cost too much to drive back and forth to get what you pay good money for! I called to complain and was told to bring the sub back! I asked for a sub in the future and was told no. The food was fresh but the service could be much better. I will not be returning there . read more

The premise Is regularly dirty, and orders are regularly lost. Wait times are all relative - expect to show up and wait an extra half hour over promise time if you order hot food. Not a one off - this has happened three times in a row. During Covid-19, the employees did not wear masks correctly; some (the line cook), didn't wear one at all, despite a sign on the door requiring customers wear one. Honestly, it makes me sad to come here. The rest of the franchises in Delaware provide a quality product in a clean environment. This one is an embarrassment to the Capriottis name. read more

Where do I start? I have been ordering Capriotti subs for 7 years - not anymore. The order I had - I wanted to spit out both subs. We've been ordering bobbie's for a long time and the bobbie now sucks. I ordered a cheese steak and it tasted as if it had been soaked in salt. Husband's Bobbie was nothing to brag about. The food I got today was much, much better than what I've had in a while. The sandwich had a good amount of meat on it and the taste was there. The last couple times the sandwiches had very little meat, they were mostly vegetables and roll. But I went back again because,well, it's capriottis. I'm so glad I wasn't let down, again. The Bobbie sub is amazing. It is my favorite sub! However the workers at west Dover (off Forrest Ave) don't seem to understand how to wear a mask. They also don't seem to have very high cleaning standards. I was extremely disappointed recently in the amount of food on the floor, the dirty counters, the employees hygiene, not wearing gloves, masks hanging below the nose - one was even just covering the chin with mouth and nose fully exposed. I can't do that. I believe in the mask wearing and thought it was mandatory. Unfortunately if you can't wear a mask properly or clean up after yourself I can't buy food from you. I came here with a group of flyers to stock up for a long overnight flight.... I sat down to eat a delicious Cheese steak right away because I was so hungry, and very very satisfied when I consumed the last crumb. They do it right, at least, they do it right for me.... I ordered a Black & Bleu Salad to go, and it was prepared very nicely. It's not their fault that it was soggy by the time I ate it..... All the ingredients were fresh and ample. A lot of people come here, and there's another one over near the Air Force Base. Good Food! I recommend it!! read more

This franchise need to have its license taken away. In the past week I have gone to Milford and west Dover. I have gotten the same cheesesteak other then I got extra meat In Dover. There was more meat on the Milford sub and the employees were much more happy. We also do gateway west. The independence blvd location is screwing you. They take a large sub roll cut in half and that it their medium. NO other Capriotti's does that. They short you roll and they short you meat even if you order extra. They place is dirty and disgusting. Cob webs hanging from the ceiling dirt and I mean dirt in the floors, baseboards, windows and counters. I will drive to Milford to get another sub and will Never go here again and advise you not to either. read more

I have patronized this business for over a decade. During the past few years, the sandwiches have been hit or miss. However today the lack of proper food handling ended my business. A cashier handled money at the front with her gloves on. She then proceeded to make my sandwich with the same gloves on. I asked her to please change her gloves and she did. After fixing my sandwich she was unable to roll the sandwich on the paper. Another woman also handling money with no gloves came back to assist her. I brought both issues to the owners attention. She noted that mistakes happen and gave a half hearted apology. She further advised that the health department rates them 100% every year as if I cared. I took the sandwich but later threw it in the trash. I thought that if the food preparation lacked cleanliness the food handling just might too. read more

Usually hit this place a couple of times a month. On the average, a clean and friendly sub shop. Today however, service and the cheese steak were sub par. Stopped by on way home for lunch and got a cheese steak and fries to take to my wife. Presented my military ID for usual discount and server said ( in a not so pleasant voice) we don't give discounts. THAT WAS NEW. Got home and open cheese steak to find chunks of uncooked onions and peppers on top of the cheese steak. Never had a cheese steak like that before. Def best cheesesteak in Dover! Has good flavor. My husband likes the bobby sandwich from them too which is like a thanksgiving dinner in a sandwich. Great sandwiches! Try their "signature" sandwiches. The "Bobby" is Thsnksgiving dinner on a roll - turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce - sounds unusual but tastes great. Capriotti's is amazing! Service -- Everytime I have been in there has been a line but I have gotten my food in less than ten minutes. In addition to that, the people that work there are great. Everytime I have been in they have been very helpful. I had a coupon for a free cookie and when the computer system wouldn't take it they just gave me the cookie. Food -- I have had their desserts and the Bobbie. I haven't tried anything else because I think if something isn't broken, you shouldn't fix it. The Bobbie is probably the best sandwich I have ever had. The bread is perfect, the turkey is moist and I love the mayo. I am not a huge cranberry sauce fan so I have them put it on the side so I can have only the amount I want and avoid the actual cranberries ( I am picky but that sandwich is still good). read more
