The absolute best cheesesteak sandwich I have ever had. Seriously, you must stop in, we found this place by accident its now a permanent PHX to LA lunch stop. Came here with my family, we ordered 5 different sandwiches and everyone loved theirs. The place is clean, very cool modern deli vibes, and I got to meet the owner. Love a owner behind the counter place. Employees seemed happy too! Yes, the sandwiches and subs take a few minutes to make... but wow are they worth the extra few minutes. Yes, it's a $13-$15 sub but wow is it worth every penny. They make them big so a $8 mini is still a full meal. Mostly good sandwich. I had been here once before and had the Italian sandwich. It was delicious; fresh meat, good bread (4-'s). I thought I would try my usual favorite this time and get a meatball sub. The bread wasn't toasted on the inside, so the sauce soaked up quickly making the bread mushy. The meat and sauce needed some seasoning, it was kind of bland (2-'s). I'll still come back for other sandwiches, but for me I'll not order the meatball sub again. The service is great. The owner and other staff are really friendly and the service is quick. The ambiance is nice, like a better dressed up Firehouse Subs. Have heard great things about this place. Everyone is friendly when you walk in. But... the wait. My husband ordered the Philly cheesesteak and I ordered the grilled Italian sub. Over a 25 minute wait. We saw people that came in after us get their sandwiches and leave. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and it was very filthy. I felt like I was in a gas station bathroom. So sad because this place is very well known for their sandwiches. The food.. I wish I can give a better review. But my Italian sub was not at all what I expected. And I got sick after eating it. The naked fries were cold. And oversalted. My husband's Philly cheese steak was very flavorful and delicious. But there was more bread than anything else. This was a very unfortunate experience! I cannot recommend dining here. I ordered a turkey sandwich. In the first bite I bit down on a big hard piece of bone. It could have broken my tooth or worse been swallowed. I looked inside the sandwich and the was also shredded very hard skin. Lots of it! Really gross and inedible. Not to mention a safety risk! I called the restaurant and I was told they try not to have that happen but sometimes it does, WHAT!!! They serve something they know is a risk on a regular basis? Maybe they should prepare the turkey another way that is safe? Like slicing it? I also asked for a refund as I had one bite of a sandwich that was close to $20 with tip. The person on the phone said her manager would have to call me back. This was after she already told me she was the manager. I have heard nothing back. I try to only leave positive Yelp reviews or I just don't leave one. This review is my exception. I feel compelled to warn others not to risk their safety on the turkey sandwich at this business. First visit while visiting the Palm Springs area. Looks like they just recently opened and the crowd was huge. Food is outstanding - best Cheesesteak from a sandwich shop I've had. Better than Lenny's and Jersey Mike's. Real steak (not sliced lunch meat), peppers, mushrooms on a fresh baked roll. I had the Buy two 1 a 5" cheesesteak and small chopped salad. It was delicious! I'm just sad that we don't live in a location that has a Capriottis. The service was friendly, but it took a long time to order and even longer to be served. This place has amazing food. My only complaint is sometimes they don't start the orders quick enough and it should never take 30-40 minutes to pickup a sandwich. That being said The Manager accommodated and made things right after a long wait for a pickup order they hadn't started 20 minutes later when I arrived. The Owner Ryan is super cool and approachable. When this place opened they were SPOT ON. Food was fresh and standards were high. Now they have unfortunately fallen into the "i dont care just give me your money" business. The past few times I have been, my sandwiches were poorly made and it is OBVIOUS no one is adhering to corporate standards. Today I placed an order on capriottis.com and arrived to pick up my order at the designated time. The girl handling the pick up counter was totally clueless when I gave her my name. There were only a couple of other peiple in the store waiting, and there were 3 employees behind the counter. She seemed to be overwhelmed and was juggling what appeared to be a dozen or so tickets in her hand, trying to figure out what order she was working on. I sat in the restaurant for 25 minutes, watching, waiting...as other peiple came and went with their orders. I even watched as some man complained about the lack of pastrami on his sandwich (a problem I have had to deal with myself at this location) while the employees looked at him like he was crazy and even had the nerve to say "that's how we make it". FINALLY the lady at the pick-up looks at me and says "what's your name" and then proceeds to start to bag my order...all 3 of my sandwiches have been SITTING RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER THE ENTIRE 25 MINUTED I HAD BEEN SITTING IN THE STORE. Then she had the nerve to shove cold french fries in my bag (say nothing about the once hot grilled sandwiches I ordered that were now cold and leaking through the paper they were wrapped in) and hand me an incomplete order...the other once hot, now cold sandwich was sitting non the counter still. Hi Capriotti's Team, We're big fans of your food -- seriously, we look for Capriotti's wherever we're working across Southern California because we love it that much. So it's a real bummer to write this note, but we wanted to let you know about a rough experience we had at the Rancho Mirage store on Friday, June 13th. We placed an online order for pickup (Order #35943914065756162 ). I sent one of my employees to grab it at 12:15 PM -- the order was supposed to be ready by 12:21. He ended up waiting two full hours and never got our food. Not only were we starving and on a tight schedule, but we also lost a lot that day: $66.45 for food we never received $70.00 in labor costs for my employee who waited 2 hours doing nothing $115.00 to feed our team of four somewhere else (Tony's Burgers -- not bad, but let's be honest, not Capriotti's) The Rancho Mirage staff said they'd refund the order, but nothing has come through yet. All in all, we lost out on time, money, and -- worst of all -- the awesome lunch we were really looking forward to. We're not trying to come down too hard -- we're just disappointed. We went here a few days ago and got hooked on the American Cheesesteak sub. Service was great all 3 times, prior to getting Ilene yesterday, a very unhappy manager. I don't need to describe her you will know who I'm speaking of. She is the manager, but does not help her crew. The other day we watched her stand back, while the employee up front was on the phone, and there was a line at the register. She looks so unhappy as if there are 10 million other places she would rather be. I took my girlfriend for lunch yesterday and Alexander was working the order counter. He was amazing! Matter of fact, all the males working yesterday were so friendly and helpful. I told my husband since we enjoyed it so much, he should stop by and bring those subs home for dinner again... so he did. This time, Ilene was actually working the order counter. My husband said she gave him grief over what type of peppers. He said mild. She snapped and said they don't have mild, they have sweet. Ok sweet is mild unless it's spicy....hello. so she decided to give us hot and somehow she decided she didn't want to give us mild. Really?? I was there earlier and Alexander, who is not a manager seems to know his peppers and what mild is. All the other employees that helped us with the orders, knew what mild was. My husband just tried to deal with her attitude so he could just get home. We opened the subs and started to eat. After the 3rd bite my mouth was burning. I believe she purposely sabotaged our subs for whatever reason. I don't know the full extent of her issues. So we wrapped them up and drive all the way back. She was still there. Then she had the nerve to say that we asked for hot peppers on 1 sandwich and then argued several times with me, that my sandwich was sweet peppers. Well my mouth is on fire, so if you don't believe me take a bite yourself from the other end of the sandwich. She admitted to making the sandwiches. So she picks up the bag and looks at one sandwich and stated those were sweet. Wow. Then she thru them away. She said she would remake the 2 subs, but sibe we didn't know the difference Bergen onions and peppers, she wouldn't make it with any peppers. What??? I know what I want. Perhaps you need training in hot and mild amd different types of peppers. To go a step further, I think you need training in customer service and being friendly and learning to smile. We know what we wanted. Then she called the owner, Ryan, and lied about us wanting a full refund. You can lie all you want and distort what the conversation was, but that is not what we said. All we wanted was 2 mild pepper American Cheesesteak subs. What is so hard about that? Alexander got it right and 2 other times we went there, those employees got it right. Perhaps this isn't the right job for you. So we walked out, no subs and no refund. I emailed Ryan, the owner, directly after our visit and still no response from him. No apology, no questions, and no response at all the next day. I can see that customers don't matter to him, either. Maybe that's where she has learned her behavior from. I placed an order on line for 2 small 8 inch sandwiches. The Gobbler was ordered as is and the Italian with no onion, add pickles and peppers assuming they were pepperoncini. In the note area I asked for extra pickles and extra lettuce and paid the alight up charge for additional meat which didnt look additional to me. The sandwich standard is pretty basic with meat, lettuce, tomato, onion and seasoning. The sandwich I was given had no onion no lettuce and no tomatoes a few green peppers and a few pickles. How do they not know what comes standard on their sandwich? I doctored it up at home which defeats take out. Both sandwiches lacked flavor, were dry and the bread was not good and they only offer 1 type of bread. I should have read the reviews. 2 sandwiches were $30. For "fast food" sandwiches there are way better, fresher and tastier options in the desert. We won't be back. read more

Husband had the Italian Classic and I had the BLT. The Italian sandwich was skimpy and I never thought I could be disappointed by a BLT but they managed to do that. I even paid a dollar for extra bacon--didn't help. Tomato was barely there and the lettuce was a shadow. Bacon crumbly and weak. The bread was soggy and boring.
