I forgot to take a picture of my food here, but I got the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and it was yummy! When I went on Wednesday evening around 6:30pm, the service was actually really good from everyone except the person labeled manager on her shirt. She was manning the cashier and was very dry and unhelpful. When my friend asked for a list of veggie options on the sandwich, she really just kind of stared at us with no answer stating "there's all kinds" or something vague like that. When we saw the cookies and desserts at the register we asked what it was (inquiring about the flavor), and she answered, "a cookie." That was kind of silly to me. After I paid and she kind of motioned that she was ready for the next customer, I asked about my receipt. She responded by asking if I wanted one and stating that the machine was out of paper or something. I would've appreciated her stating that rather than just not giving me my receipt and assuming that I didn't want one. I also felt like if I'm asking you for my receipt, asking me if I want one is somewhat redundant. I didn't realize she was a manager until my friend pointed out the tag on her shirt while we were waiting for food. My friend and I interacted with three other workers while we were there , one of them being Joe who I believe made our sandwiches. All 3 of of them had exceptional service! This is a small shop with maybe four tables, so takeout might be your best bet . The sandwich was cool, but management should do better. read more

Customer service from the Manager left much to be desired. She wasn't friendly or knowledgeable about the menu. The workers were a different story and why I'm rating my review so high. There was a young man with blond hair and another worker (Joe) who were extremely polite and hospitable. They were quick to make adjustments and made me and my friend feel welcome. I haven't been meaning to come by here for a while now I finally stopped by and I'm very glad that I did have a great 799 special that provides you with a sandwich chips as well as a drink you can't beat that. I had the Italian it was delicious. The bread was nice and soft. The meat was fresh. The vegetables were very fresh also and of course you got a pair that with some jalapeño chips. As an east coaster, I will die on the hill that Public has the best subs. I have yet to find a place that comes close in Tucson. Capriotti's is close to my office and they have a Thanksgiving sandwich that is similar to a similar sandwich at another chain. I stopped in to try it. Service was a little slow. If you're expecting a freaky fast sandwich, you will be disappointed. I got my food and went back to work to try it. First, I like the bread way better than others. It actually had some crunch outside for a textural difference. The turkey was actually pulled turkey and not lunch meat. It may have had a little too much cranberry sauce, but otherwise was a tasty sandwich that I enjoyed. I picked up sandwiches recently for a family picnic. The french dip, club, and Bobbie were ordered. It took a while to get the food, but everyone enjoyed the subs. Also, be aware, the large size is seriously large. Ok, it wasn't terrible. Walked in at noonish, only one lady working both till and food. So, it was a bit slow. Everything was clean and she was nice. Now, the sandwich. I didn't realize this was a chain, stopped in because I'm trying things I haven't eaten. While it wasn't terrible... I can't say I'd eat it again. Have been to a few others of the chain in other cities over the years and always love their well-known "Bobbie" sandwich. Previous time I was at this location was successful after an earlier closure/re-opening due to operation/franchise problems?? Yesterday, July 28, I dropped in at, admittedly, busy lunch hour. Looked like three or four parties of one or two were waiting for ordered food and one table had food. A person was ahead of me and left before ordering and I ended up doing the same, realizing it'd be a long wait. Appeared to be two young staff working behind the counter and, boy, did they look unmotivated and sick of it all. Handwritten "Now Hiring" sign on the door with very flexible terms available! A/The franchisee/operator/manager didn't seem to be anywhere in sight. Felt sorry for that staff. The three stars are for the potential here (and my earlier memories of Bobbies). National corporate support is desperately needed here and a manager/operator willing to jump in there and help! read more

Fresh food and friendly staff. I got the 1/2 and 1/2 combo of sandwich and salad. The salad was a generous pile of fresh romaine lettuce and toppings. The sandwich was flavorful as well. The turkey vegetarian is the absolute best, I take it with no mayo add my own mayo and add jalapeños when it arrives. I order from them daily, they are consistent and quality! Read they roasted their own turkey and then pulled it so I had to try it. I had the Bobbie and it was just as I imagined--flavorful and really delicious. The turkey is so much better than those sliced off a loaf. Will definitely go back to try other sandwiches. The downside was the restaurant was messy--tables not wiped, dirty floor, messy soda fountain area, no soap in bathroom. There were no other customers inside so I feel the help had time to clean up. Finally got a chance to stop in and give it a try. I had no idea what to order so I went in to the counter to place my order. They must do a lot of online orders and takeout because there were only about 5 people in the shop and all looked like they were waiting for an order to go, but the employees were working nonstop making sandwiches. Despite being very busy the guy working the counter was very friendly and helpful with the questions I had. I ordered a medium Bobbie and a medium American Wagu Roast beef. I have to say for the price it's a BIG sandwich. The same priced sub at Eegee's doesn't even come close. Thanksgiving sandwiches are my favorite so I really enjoyed my Bobbie and I easily made 2 very filling meals out of it. This was my first time in this restaurant. The customer service was on point. Friendly, polite staff. The place was clean. The sandwich was really good. I had the Turkey, stuffing and cranberry sandwich. It would have been better had they toasted the bread. Otherwise it was delicious. I also ordered (door dash) the tomato bisque soup. The container was only half filled so I only got a few bites for 5.49. It too was delicious but should have been a filled container. It was a small container and for that price should have been filled up the top. Next time I order I'll tell them this happened so they can fix it. I'll definitely be ordering again from this shop. I was going to rate Capriotti's a solid 4+ stars but the courteous employees put it over the top. We had two "medium" 10" sandwiches: Chicken Cheese Steak and Italian Sausage. We also ordered a small coleslaw, about double the size of a Jell-O shot. Cheese Steak eater said he should have gotten the large "18-inch" and pronounced the coleslaw very good (just creamy enough). FINALLY OPEN, I've been waiting and it was worth it, even just a single sandwich in. I got the Cole Turkey... "...slow-roasted turkey, cole slaw, provolone cheese, Russian dressing and mayo." ...and from the first bite I was impressed. Well above average ingredients and bread, and a very unique sandwich, despite sounding pretty basic. My only issue is that the place is SMALL, maybe 500 sq ft with just 4 tables, and it was uncomfortably crowded even at 11:30am. I am not super comfy with being shoulder-to-shoulder with others (still) so we waited outside. The owners (I presume it was the owner, at least) recognized it was an issue, and I'm hopeful that they can find a way to tweak the order pickup system so this isn't an issue. Definitely won't be coming back here. This was probably our 3rd or 4th time eating here in the past 6 months, the cleanliness and service are definitely going downhill. Ordered online, which was easy, the item I ordered "wasn't being served today" which was surprising since it's on their website under "Featured Items." I did not receive the sandwich that I ordered, or at least how it is described, and I did not receive the items I requested on my sandwich. The quality of the food was ok, nothing special, very skimpy for the price. The soup I got was only filled about 2/3 of the bowl. I have no clue what everyone ordered. we ordered several sandwiches. The French dip was good, but we had to ask for the au jus. The coleslaw was dry and basically had no flavor. The Italian sausage sandwich was really a letdown. The kids grilled cheese look like it had been in the wrapper for hours. Only downside was there was not enough filling of meat and lettuce tomatoes and etc. I've been eating the "Bobbi" and the "Italian" for years in other locations and the sandwiches are always full of meat and cheese and veggies. The Italian was overloaded with spices and had little meat to offer. Very disappointing as I couldn't eat the sandwich without removing all the spices. I hope this restaurant here in Tucson doesn't limit their portions in the sandwiches. For a $15 sandwich, it lacked a well built sandwich to satisfy one average customer taste and hunger.
