They have pretty cheap food. The staff is always nice. The only thing that I'm not a fan of is their pizza crust. It tastes cardboardish. Nothing fancy here. Just cheap, filling food. Decent portions. I'm a big fan of their appetizers. The mac and cheese bites are a good substitute for those discontinued White Castle ones, and the fried mushrooms are good too. I want to start by saying the lady who took my order and at the counter was nice, but the guy who i am assuming was the owner/manager was not too focused on customer service. I arrived 45 minutes after placing the order and waited another 20 minutes before asking how much longer it has. I was then told by the guy, "It'll be done when it's done." It then took another 15 minutes to get the food. There was no one else in there so I assume my order was forgotten and made in haste and that showed in the quality of the food. The stuffed pizza was undercooked and the dough was near raw in some parts. The sauce was sweet and was no different that store brand canned sauce. I was barely able to finish one piece. The cannolis were slightly frozen in the middle and the shell was flaccid. Nothing seemed fresh. I could take that kind of service if the food was actually good. Not really crazy about their pizza, but the other food is good. Have had their mozzarella sticks, beef sandwiches, and broasted chicken and enjoyed all of them. Unfortunately, though, this is a pizza place and it is not my favorite. The people on the phone are very nice and the delivery time was significantly shorter than what was quoted (always a good thing). The reason for the lack of stars is due to the pizza being relatively subpar in my opinion and the calamari being the smallest portion imaginable for $9. When I opened the bag, I literally thought that perhaps some had fallen out. Live and learn I suppose. I will be ordering again, but probably just the items I have come to like. read more

I've grown up eating Capri's pizza and it's legit one of my favorites. I was so happy to have a location closer to where I live now, so by default I order from the Schererville location. It tastes great and carry out is fine but their delivery service is beyond HORRIBLE. Several times I've had to wait over an hour and a half, with the longest time being 2 hours until I finally cancelled. Management can care less if you call and they never apologize. They tell you to give it an hour but they go way past that. I've continued to order from them ONLY because Capri's is my favorite but they really need to do something about their delivery service and at least compensate customers because after today, it'll be a long time before my family and I order from here. read more

Finally, Capri's. This is it, my favorite pizza in Indiana. In all my other reviews, I can usually pick one or two shining points of every pizza, but Capri's is the complete package. It has the perfectly cooked thin flour crust, ample cheese, well-seasoned moist Italian sausage pieces, mild pepperoni, and medium (not thick, not runny) blend seasoned sauce with just enough olive oil to accent the non-sweet tomatoes. No detail is over-looked; all the flavors combine into what I believe to be the ideal pizza for any pizza lover. The bite is not crunchy (order "extra thin" for more crispiness), but substantial enough to keep any sogginess at bay. The pizza is cooked with the toppings almost mixed into the cheese; not strictly above or below, which I believe to be why everything tastes unified on every bite. I've been going here for a few years and they are extremely consistent and always have a friendly staff. Dining area is medium sized, but you can tell they get a ton of carry-out. There isn't anything here innovative or new, but that's what makes me to believe they've mastered the craft. Capri's is my pick for best pizza in the region. read more

Discovered this place about a month ago. I've been back 4 or 5 times. I've been mostly happy with the food. The Italian beef is awesome. The pizza is pretty good. I would pass on the wings. My experience today was a great example of the problems I've had with the place. Tonight someone answered my call, they put me on hold for over 10 minutes ( my phone says 11m30s) and I gave up an called someone else. I've had similar customer service issue in the place. Their pizza is 'OK'. I wouldn't be leaving a one star review if it weren't for the bad service I received. We placed an order for delivery, and after an hour and a half I called to see where it was. I was told they had it marked for pick-up (although I am certain we ordered delivery). I understand that mistakes happen, and was told they'd get it right out to me. Then I was told I owed an additional $3 for the delivery charge. So, because of their mistake, I received my order almost two hours later and had to pay more for it. We have been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. We LOVE the beef sandwich on garlic bread with cheese.... best in the area. Pizza ,chicken and pasta is always good too!!! They have a great variety of things too choose from. The girls at the front are always nice when we have been there and always ask if we need anything else once they bring us our food. They don't just run away like some places do. The restaurant is always clean too. Never dirty tables waiting to get cleaned off. We have never ordered delivery but we have carry out and never a problem. Always good!!!! Also whenever the owner Ben is there he always stops and talks to us and asks how everything is . Being from California I was extremely impressed by this pizza place. Not only was the food incredible but it was a nice quiet and clean place. They had the Yankees game on which I was happy about. Hands down the best pizza and garlic bread I've ever had. I wish I could try one of everything on the menu. They also had great cheesecake. Literally all of my favorite things put into one place. When ordering from the dining area on more than one occasion I had been forgotten about while the other people I was with had eaten heir food and finished when my food ordered before them finally arrived. About half the time our pizzas have been undercooked and we've had to finish cooking them at home. That's rather defeats the purpose of ordering out. I was willing to stick with them, as their fries are some of my favorite in the area, however someone quite close to me informed me that a 20-something delivery driver at this location had bought their 15 year old child a bottle of alcohol. Upon the owner being informed, he just laughed about it and didn't see it as a problem. I will not support a business that condones this behavior amongst their staff or doesn't remove a problem employee from putting additional minors at risk. What if this man had tried to take advantage of the boy? What if the boy had gotten alcohol poisoning or died? I just can't support Capris after the consistent food issues and such a sad handling of a very serious issue. read more

OVERPRICED!! I visited people in NW IN, but grew up near here. I tasted similar pizza over the years & this quality is no different than a couple of other local places in the same city (i think, don't know the city boundaries) Gustos is down the street; it's equal if not better. Dino's pizza near the BP lot (picked up friend after work) is also equal if not better (they had a very inflexible business model i.e. can't order a 1 topping w/ half of a pizza w/ different topping). this pizza i purchased for a birthday party on short notice so i didn't look at price due to experience w/ other two nearby & other pizza places in the area....SHOCKED @ price when i got rung up!! i asked @ the b- day party about why & they had no clue. they actually advised me to get Dino's next time,buy given my experience w/ their business model not being flexible i will go w/ Gustos south of the Capri's on Calumet Ave if i'm in the area again. read more

I ordered the Capri specialty pizza. The first thing I noticed was the value of the pizza, you got a very good size amount of pizza for the price. As I took my first bite, I knew that someone had carefully sculpted the mesh of flavors that was rolling around in my mouth. Then I noticed the sweet and delicious sauce! It's hard to find a pizza place that makes a good sweet sauce and this place might be the best at it. The sweet sauce provided the perfect backdrop for the spicy and delicious sausages on the pizza. This combination was really the highlight of the meal. The crust was also glorious! It was flakey and soft, not manufactured in some corporate pizza chain, but had a real homemade quality and taste to it. My only complaint was that the mushrooms did not have a lot of flavor, but by no means should anyone avoid this place because of it! Overall, a fantastic pizza! read more
