Potato chips w/onion dip & side salad

Had a late lunch here on a Tuesday afternoon. Our server was very attentive and kind, giving us an extra container of French onion dip to take home with our leftover homemade potato chips, which were delicious. I also had a nice side salad and my husband enjoyed his seafood bisque. A delightful right near on the dock - we sat outside.

We decided to visit Montauk during off season and unfortunately everything was closed for the season. However, we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was cute and cozy. We ordered the baked oyster and clam chowder to start. Our mains were the seafood pasta and the fish and chips. Everything was good, but the fish and chips was out of this world. The best fish and chips I've personally ever had. My wife literally fought me for the extra piece, if we ever find ourselves in montauk again we will definitely stop by here for the fish and chips!

This place serves the best fish and chips in New York -- and possibly in the entire U.S.! The portions are generous, and the fish is incredibly fresh. The meat has a natural ocean-sweet flavor with no unpleasant fishy taste. It's slightly sweet with a delicate, perfectly flaky texture. The batter is outstanding -- thin, crispy, and golden, with a crunchy exterior and a soft, juicy interior. The shellfish pasta is also excellent, loaded with shrimp, scallops, clams, and mussels. The clam chowder and baked oysters were delicious as well. The service was warm and attentive, and the staff were wonderfully dog-friendly. Definitely a must-visit spot -- and they stay open even when many other places close for the season.

Truly, the cocktails and menu at this restaurant are so inventive and flavor packed it feels as if there has to be something supernatural happening in the kitchen and behind the bar. We came here in early May and sat at the bar. Dillon took great care of us, walked us through the menu and made stellar recommendations all around. After having my mind blown by the Everything Bagel Martini, we moved on to share the charred octopus and Leggy's Thighs. The charred octopus was tender, and paired so well with the citrus fruits on this plate, plus the bite of pistachios?! So well put together. Leggy's thighs (RIP Leggy) were literally the best chicken I'd ever had, fall off the bone tender and topped off with flavorful furikake and hot pickled fresno chilis. We also split the Wagyu sando which I'm literally still thinking about. Wagyu on milkbread?! What an excellent idea. Live acoustic music was going on the night we were here which really added to the cozy ambiance. They also have trivia here on Thursdays (Dillon, if you're reading this, we hope your team wins the championship). 10/10 no notes. Come here if you can get a table.

Everything tasted incredibly fresh. I started with the fluke sushi, which I'd never tried before, and it was delicious. (I wish I could accurately describe sushi/fish in better detail, but I can't so just trust me on this one!) For my main course, I ordered the hot lobster roll, and as an avid lobster roll-lover, it did not disappoint. The lobster was served in generous, chunky pieces with just the right amount of butter. It came with fries that were perfectly crispy, though I do wish they had been seasoned a bit more. The restaurant overlooks the inlet, making it the perfect spot to relax and watch the boats come and go. The staff was welcoming, and the service was excellent from start to finish. They also played great music -- that particular day they were playing country music (a southerner's dream!). Last but not least, another bonus is the location. There are several charming little shops just steps away, making it easy to browse before or after your meal. My biggest fear is it's going to be super crowded the next time I'm back in Montauk and I won't get a table. With that being said, I absolutely cannot wait to eat another amazing lobster roll with that lovely view! 5 stars for the lobster roll, 5 stars for the view, 5 stars for the hospitality!
