Muse at the End has that perfect coastal feel -- relaxed, beautiful, and a little removed from everything. The food matches the atmosphere with seafood dishes that feel made for being near the water. The stuffed chopped clams were a standout, and the lobster mac & cheese was the perfect indulgent comfort dish. The seafood fra diavolo brought the right amount of flavor and heat, and the seared scallops were beautifully done. What I liked most about Muse is that it doesn't feel like it's trying too hard. It's a great mix of a beautiful location, good food, and that laid-back Montauk energy that makes you want to stay awhile. Definitely worth the trip all out to The End. read more

Easy parking and cute atmosphere. The outdoor tables was a nice casual setting. Inside had more of a vibe including the bar area with live music. Service was excellent and attentive. The food was.. okay. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, cooked well and interesting ingredients. However everything seemed lacking flavor. The salad, through fresh and with nice ingredients, was under seasoned. So was my entree. Everything needed to be pumped up a bit. Had a great time at Muse @ the End during my last visit to Montauk. The atmosphere here is modern and cool - the entire bar is lit up blue which makes it feel very futuristic. Our bartender was awesome, super attentive and happy to walk us through the menu and make suggestions. I had a white peach tea martini which was out of this world. We had dinner plans elsewhere but once we looked at the menu we decided to try a few apps. We had clams on the half shell and shrimp cocktail which were fresh, then the baked oysters which were grilled and topped to perfection. Prices here are honestly not as bad as I thought they would be given the area. Not to mention, they have weekly food specials and happy hour. If you're wondering where to eat in Montauk I would say this is a solid recommendation. read more

We sat at the bar for happy hour. $1.50 for raw oysters, clams, and shrimp cocktail- minimum of 6 pieces. They come with cocktail sauce and lemons. The clams also came with horseradish. There was no mignonette sauce. Well drinks and beers were also discounted. It was a nice place to enjoy the FIFA World Cup. The bar seats about 15 and there were 4 large tvs playing the game. The bartender was good. He kept our glasses full and food coming. The fried fluke sandwich and fries were delicious. read more

The service in this place is horrible. We arrived with our toddler and were served drinks and ordered but never saw our waiter ever again. We waited over an hour for appetizers that were burnt oysters. My husband had to ask a random busboy/lady for another drink. They brought my son a Kraft Mac n Cheese and he was the only person who ate. When we asked what was happening, we were told sorry and that it would take another 20mins, we decided to leave but no one came to speak to us. I hate to say this but we were the only mixed race couple there, everyone else had food and were checked in on. I do not recommend to anyone. read more

Came here a few years ago while on vacation and decided to come back and eat at the bar (that's our thing). As everything goes in Montauk, ownership changes and so can the experience. Service was good. Peroni on tap. What can go wrong? Food. The fried goat cheese salad was excellent. Large portions and shareable. The porch chop dry/over cooked. The "freshly caught " fluke mushy and mashed potatoes, lumpy. Honestly, while these portions were also generous, the food was uneatable. Shame. We had excellent service on Christmas Eve, which was definitely a quiet time in Montauk. The ambiance was modern but welcoming. The local sea bass special was delicious and fresh. I absolutely LOVE a beach town, so when we went on a little getaway to Montauk earlier this week, I was definitely soaking up the ocean and all the coastal vibes. What I also LOVED about Montauk, though, was the (really good) eats! Everything we had was honestly hitting the spot in its own way, and the Muse @the End was the perfect ambiance for a cozy steak dinner. (I also want to just compliment our server who was really hospitable; I noticed a lot of hospitality around town, too!) We started out with the baked oysters, and they were most definitely soothing and unique since they were baked with a refined Stilton. (This is delicious if you are a fellow lover of blue cheese, hehe.) We also shared the flavorful, marinated rib eye that was tender and had just the right ratio of rendered fat in every bite! The entree came with grated zucchini and a blue cheese mash; again, if you are like me and are a fan of blue cheese, you would appreciate this side! We also shared the parmesan truffle fries because it's kind of hard to say no to parmesan truffle fries, ya know? When the meal wrapped up, I asked for a dessert menu since my birthday was a week prior, and I figured we could indulge a bit, LOL. A (warm) brownie ice cream sundae, with rich vanilla ice cream, was how said indulgence manifested. If you are ever in Montauk, especially in the peaceful off season, I most definitely recommend the Muse @ the End for a peaceful dinner night out. read more

This was, without question, one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. We had an 8 PM New Year's Eve reservation, ordered around 8:10, and didn't see our first appetizer until about 9:20 -- and it was awful. We also ordered a simple butter pasta for our 4-year-old, and they charged $35 for it. Thirty-five dollars. For plain butter pasta. Absolutely ridiculous and borderline insulting. Our mains finally arrived close to 10 PM, completely overcooked and honestly inedible. At that point we were furious, spoke with our server and the manager, and negotiated to just pay around $200 (including their forced 20% NYE surcharge) so we could leave. We agreed to it simply because we didn't want to waste any more of our time + What makes this even worse is that this wasn't just any night -- my wife's birthday is January 1st, so this dinner was meant to be part of her celebration. Instead, it turned into one of the most frustrating and disappointing dining experiences we've ever had. I sincerely apologized to my wife. This place is disorganized, painfully slow, insanely overpriced, and completely ruined what should have been a special night. Save your money and go literally anywhere else. read more

Had a really nice dinner here while visiting Montauk last weekend! We started with oysters, which were delicious. I got the lobster roll as my entree, and my boyfriend got the chicken parm. I loved the fries that came with my lobster roll because they were homemade and sooo good. They also have a cute bar inside the restaurant, so we sat there and got a couple drinks after dinner. We went in November during the off season, but it still seemed pretty busy. I would assume it gets even busier during the summer, so I'd recommend making a reservation before you go just in case. read more

6 of us dined here 2 weeks ago. The table was wobbly. It took 3 asks to get someone to fix it and she never really did. The service wasn't good and the overpriced food soso. Several of us had the lobster special. ​​The baked potatoes were cold among a host of other issues. My lobster roll was lobster salad atop a dry roll. The fries were good at least. Don't be deceived by the way this place looks from the outside. It's BIGGER ON THE INSIDE!!! This place HAS IT ALL. The food quality is amazing, the service is great, and they have a nice size bar with big TVs perfect for watching sports games. They even have big mirrors in the dining room so you can watch the tv from almost anywhere you sit. They have live music with early 2000's music like Baha Men, Shaggy... it was really good. Their Plancha Sun Dried Tomato Crusted Salmon was SPECTACULAR. I ordered it medium rare and it was one of the best tasting salmon dishes I have ever had. The fluke was a fluke, because it was bland when you compare it to the salmon dish. Even the dessert menu looks amazing. They have a Chocolate Lava cake that sounds so good. Unfortunately, this is the place we went to after getting engaged earlier in the day. There's no way we would have known it was going to be a bad experience. Our server wasn't the nicest, and didn't write any of our orders down which was a red flag from the jump. We ordered a margarita pizza, crab cakes, and a Caesar salad. We only got the pizza and the cakes but no salad. Pretty disappointed from the start. Our server didn't take our entree order until after we finished our apps. I asked if he can substitute grilled zucchini for broccoli, and he said that the back does not do substitutions on their dishes. I have an allergy to zucchini, but I didn't want to get into it because it would have made the experience worse than it already was and on a great day. I had to order something different, which was terrible because I don't like the taste and greasiness of bacon but gave my vegetables to my fiancé. I personally think our server did not want to write the anything down, hence no substitutions, but that's my opinion. I ordered medium, I got close to well done. The mashed potatoes were clumpy, tasteless, dry, and downright inedible. The pork chop was dangerously undercooked, too chewy to even eat, and tasted like rotten meat. We sent it back and were presented with chicken parmigiana that was even worse, if possible. The chicken was surely prepared far in advance, frozen, and then reheated, probably in a microwave, because it came out within minutes. I have never tasted chicken so horrible: it was rancid and rubbery. Frankly, I don't even know what kind of meat it was, but I have never tasted anything so offensive to the palette. The mozzarella cheese was sour and burnt. The sauce tasted like watery, spoiled tomatoes, and the pasta was like mush. The only difficult part was choosing which element of his horrendous meal was the most foul. Again, I hesitated to write this, as I don't like leaving bad reviews and I wouldn't waste my time doing so if I didn't feel it absolutely necessary, but I had to say this as a matter of conscience. Made a reservation for a nice round table in bar area and left credit card for deposit! Reconfirmed reservation and table...the 7 of us got there table was empty but was told by hostess we could not get it .Had to wait for other table which owner came out sasaying" best table in house" we were hu gry and didn't want to make a fuss so sat at table which was a long banquet style by a door constantly opened and very cold plus smokers gathered there and we were constantly smelling the cigarettes. We couldn't do any substutions on menu, not a big deal ,we paid extra for them.but then only 6 meals came out ( other meal was never made) so we had to wait for 20 more minutes for that meal ....Waiter was super apologetic, got that guest a wine and offered complimentary dessert. But experience was sort of ruined. MOSTLY because of rude owner/ manager...PS my meal though was superb! read more

We ended up here 2x and enjoyed the dinner, and on the second visit, the Happy hour. From 3-7 discounted appetizers and cocktails from $1 Oysters to Lobster rolls @ $19 the drinks were solid, and the food delicious. Very nice place inside, staff were very friendly and the drinks were amazing. I ordered the Seafood Fra Diavolo Pasta dish and added on the lobster tail. I specifically asked for the dish to be in a garlic and white wine sauce and please not to make it spicy. Unfortunately I was not able to enjoy the dish after a few bites my mouth was on fire, the dish was way too spicy like they made it extra extra spicy. I ended up not being able to eat anything else and could not enjoy my drinks either all I tasted was spicy. I would come back again as the restaurant seems like a nice place and I'd try another dish instead. Although I could not enjoy my meal it looked absolutely delicious! read more

We have a place in montauk so we know the prices very well. We saw in the montauk sun the Muse Ad. Everyday 1-4 Happy Hour. Advertised $1.00 Oysters during Happy Hour. Went in with my boyfriend at 3pm on Wednesday Afternoon. We sat at the bar. Bartender asked if we were eating or drinking I said drinking. He made us 2 drinks. One Tito with Splash of cranberry and club soda and one tito with ginger ale. Within 5 minutes I questioned the bartender why it was so hot inside. I noticed the doors to the restaurant were open and the outside. He said oh we keep them open. Within another 30 minutes I said to the other bartender why do you have doors open it's just to hot. He said oh the ac in the restaurant part was broken. It just was so uncomfortable. We order 1 round of oysters for $1.00 Each they were pretty big. 2nd Round not even close. Overall seemed the bartender was upset we just came in for the oysters. Wrong. Then shocked to see $20 drinks really lost me. read more

A hamburger that was supposed to be medium was so over cooked it was more than well done. The baked chopped clams had pieces that had to be spit out because they were so tough. Service was pretty much neglectful . We asked for water and it was never refilled. I asked for coke it was never delivered.
