    Clam chowder
    Lina F.

We called the restaurant for reservations and sat inside around 7-7:30. The restaurant has a kids menu but the pastas were that appealing. It was spaghetti with tomato sauce dumped on it. However, my other kid loved their chicken tenders. I ordered an assortment of items including their famous clam chowder. The chowder wasn't great - more potatoes than clams and tons of bacon - more a bacon chowder in my opinion. And the clams didn't taste fresh so I might have ordered the least popular item on the menu. We did get the clams in white sauce which was very good! The clams were fresh and huge! We had no problem finishing them. Overall, it felt more like a table set up in a newly painted room with a bar off to the side. But I did see the outdoor space so I might have chose incorrectly as the patio was set up lovely with heaters and live music. I do give many kudos to our server who was the person that seated us and waited on us. The other wait staff seemed to be gossiping and in their own worlds.

This place's rating isn't indicative of how good it is. There's a reason that it's been around for so long. The inside is a little dive-bar vibe which I personally never mind, but the outside eating area is so so cute and dog friendly. Our drinks were delicious - if you like banana get the banana piña colada drink. We started with the fritto misto which was great - fried calamari, banana peppers and zucchini - as well as the baked clams which were out of this world. The filling was unbelievable (I think there was bacon and red pepper) and I wish I ordered them for dinner. I also ordered the clam chowder which was delicious - it has potato, bacon, pepper, ugh it was SO GOOD. For dinner I had the cold lobster roll which was great, you can never really go wrong with it. Some others had the lobster pasta which they liked, the lobster grilled cheese which was amazing and filling and the scallops which the bartender recommended and she was 100% right that they are amazing. Overall I'm sad it took us so long to try tauk but soooo happy we know how good it is now!!!

If I could give 3.5/5 I would. Food was good. The flounder sandwich was the star. I thought it was a much better value than most other things on the menu. This place was cute but definitely over priced. The mussels were okay, the sauce was yummy. A little salty. The sandwich was really good!! I wouldn't have thought to put cheese on it but it worked. It was cooked perfectly and the fries were crispy. I would definitely eat the food again but wouldn't come out of my way to come back. Luckily it's one of the few places still open in the winter!! That's how we ended up here.

Came Monday night for the live music. Had some beer. I have no idea if the food is any good. The scene was Montauk locals. A little hippie. Good vibes.... Music was great.

Friendly service, one of the co-owners makes his rounds and chats with every table. Unfortunately food is horrid. Expensive too! Out of the the things we tried, Montauk oysters were fresh Calamari and crab cake turned out tasteless and over fried. Their mains should be skipped all together. My fish was so overdone there was nothing to eat. My husband got a sandwich but the meat was like rubber. The restaurant uses ton of fillers vs real ingredients. I will not be back and neither should you!

After reading all the good reviews, we gave this place a try. It's more of a dive bar than a restaurant. The place smells of stale beer. Our server was pleasant & did what she could to help. I had the Crabmeat stuffed flounder. The fish on top was like shoe leather & inedible. The stuffing wasn't bad, but not what I'd expected. Mashed potatoes were good & the veg was average. My husband had the Seafood Fra Diavolo. This was enormous! It wasn't bad, but somewhat bland. The one mussel I tasted was super fishy. $90 for a sub-par meal. Boooo

Decided to come here to celebrate my 30th birthday. Was seated right away with only a few tables occupied. Around 6pm. Service was super nice and made us laugh the entire time. Very nice and clean inside to have a intimate setting or just chill at the bar. Started out with the clam chowder which was packed with flavor and loaded with meat. Little crackers on top and you're living. I can see being at the bar and getting this with a beer for sure. The crab stuffed flounder was next and my god... The flounder wasn't too fishy and cut like butter. The crab on top was dressed in this red sauce and it was so good I mixed it into the potatoes on the side. It was the special so I'm not sure how often they have it. The chicken sandwich was "so good" that my girlfriend had. It was a spicy mayo sauce on it which made the sandwich for sure. Fresh cut fries and done well always a big plus for us. With a margarita on the side to wash it down. 10/10 Tauk's

Such a great Resturante, Dog friendly on the patio, and a super attentive staff made for a great overall experience. And the food was phenomenal!

This is a hot spot for locals I noticed. Everybody knows each other, great vibe! The food so fresh. Live music on Mondays with what has to be the hottest band in town. I had so much fun. Service was on point too! 5 stars hands down!

I love visiting Tauk's when I'm in town! The best thing on the menu is their lobster grilled cheese on Texas toast which rivals all of the lobster rolls nearby. They also have local beer on tap and will have live music playing from time to time.

This restaurant has a really nice outdoor seating area by the downtown Montauk area. There is parking as well which is very convenient. The service was nice and quick. I got the crab cakes and the Montauk Pilsner and my boyfriend got the Montauk juicy IPA. Loved the beers and the crab cakes tasted good too. Really happy with my experience here.

Truly, the cocktails and menu at this restaurant are so inventive and flavor packed it feels as if there has to be something supernatural happening in the kitchen and behind the bar. We came here in early May and sat at the bar. Dillon took great care of us, walked us through the menu and made stellar recommendations all around. After having my mind blown by the Everything Bagel Martini, we moved on to share the charred octopus and Leggy's Thighs. The charred octopus was tender, and paired so well with the citrus fruits on this plate, plus the bite of pistachios?! So well put together. Leggy's thighs (RIP Leggy) were literally the best chicken I'd ever had, fall off the bone tender and topped off with flavorful furikake and hot pickled fresno chilis. We also split the Wagyu sando which I'm literally still thinking about. Wagyu on milkbread?! What an excellent idea.
