My husband and I are in town for a small getaway. This restaurant had great service, definitely felt welcomed. My husband and I ordered 2 appetizers to try (fried calamari and steamed clams), would recommend both! We also ordered 3 entrees to share as my pregnant self can't land on a final decision. We ordered the fajitas, sea scallops with mushroom truffle risotto, and salmon. Enjoyed all the entrees but would mostly recommend the sea scallops with mushroom truffle risotto (must try). We also ordered a chocolate molten cake to wrap up our dinner and honestly, not my fave molten cake. Would probably go for another dessert next time. Overall, great experience and would recommend/ come back again. Also, we sat outdoors - super pet friendly if you want to bring your little or big friendly fur baby. Attached a few pics of our dinner last night minus the fajitas - started digging in before a good pic! Lol

Husband and I are in Greenport for a day/ evening Visit. Really needed "just us time". Are original intentions were to eat at Claudios and order the Captains Seafood platter but after eating our appetizers we left because we were very disappointed. Walking around town we crossed path with this gem of a restaurant. Of course I checked the Yelp reviews and was pleased how many favorable ones had been written. We sat at the bar and quickly realized we were surrounded by many locals having a wonderful time. We enjoyed chips, salsa and drinks. We ordered mango jalapeno margaritas and they were delicious. And expensive I may add. To be expected on the east end. We shared the fajitas that were served sizzling the way they should be. Perfect meal with a generous serving of chicken and vegetables. I love the fact that they put red pepper in the dish. Hard to find in other mexican/Spanish restaurants by me. Staff was nice, very hard working and accommodating. Restaurant is clean, simple decorations, comfortable seating and romantic. Had a nice time and I would return. Thank you! Heading over to the park across the street.

Came here for some cocktails while walking in downtown Greenpoint Staff was nice Summertime had the open patio feel... with the front completely open to the outside . Drinks were ok. Not my favorite but not bad either. Standard. I checked out the menu and there were a few things that sounded good. If we didn't have reservations at another place- we would have fined here Maybe next time

I wanted to check out this place for awhile but the prices seem high for Mexican food. It is a great looking space and has a nice atmosphere and it's Greenport so I guess the higher prices are justified. I ordered the St Germaine-Rita which was a great drink but the Margaritas are Manhattan prices. For dinner we ordered Enchiladas and Pollo Poblano. They were both made with fresh ingredients but lacked heat. The Pollo Poblano with Mole sauce had a strong cocoa flavor and no pepper flavor. The enchiladas were also somewhat bland. We did enjoy the fresh chips and salsa. The service was excellent. I probably will go back again to try out some other dishes but I wonder if the lack of heat is due to the location of the restaurant and type of customer or maybe the chef forgot the peppers.

To start we've walked by this restaurant so many times and it's always busy and the food smells wonderful. Tonight we decided to try it and so pleased we did. We started off with drinks I had the blackberry frozen margarita... absolutely great. Next we had guacamole, salsa & chips.... Great!!! The salsa had just the right amount of heat and guacamole was delicious. My daughter had the grilled shrimp tacos and my husband and I both had the shrimp & scallop scampi.... It was really wonderful and not a dish you expect from a Mexican venue. No question Agave is now one of my absolute favorite restaurants now!!!!

Service was amazing. Food delicious. I didn't love love the shrimp stuffed avacado, but it was decent. Lobster risotto was so good, as well as the sparking sangria, which was a special. Also the classic margarita was yum. Definitely will be back

Pomegranate margarita on the left strawberry margarita on the right. Both drinks were good the strawberry one was delicious.

Stopped in quickly for two drinks. Pomegranate and strawberry frozen margarita, they were both good. The strawberry one was delicious.

Why have I been walking past Alpina everytime I'm in Greenport?…read more Was it the dark atmosphere? Did I think I was getting just another American-German influenced restaurant with only brats and potato pancakes? Did I expect polka? The experience was actually slow and refined, without the white tablecloths. Alpina has German, Swiss, and slightly Northern Italian influenced cuisine, along with a selection of alcohols I was completely unfamiliar with... which made the experience feel full of new things. The most memorable food was actually one of the simplest. The chef prepared incredibly creamy, caramelized onions with a slight sauerkraut tang that was amazeballs. I told our waiter that I'd write him a love letter over it, and here I am! The pappardelle had shredded duck, cheese, and big, fun, chewy noodles that were satisfying to slurp. It just needed a dash of pepper to elevate it. The meat and cheese board included a few things I'd never tried before, and it was so good I was searching for a meat shop in Manhattan so we could buy them again. Portion sizes aren't huge for the price, but it was worth it to us. Don't be afraid of the dark entrance, the ligonberry on the menu, and ask the bartender about the connection between the giant copper gnome and penguin shaker gone rouge.

We can officially stop searching--Lucharitos Greenport is it. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was fun, relaxed, and welcoming. We started with the Carne Asada Lucha Fries, and honestly, they were worth the trip alone. Crispy fries piled high with perfectly seasoned steak and all the toppings... absolutely incredible. Then came the Mango Margaritas with a little Tajín on the rim. If you haven't tried them that way, do yourself a favor. The sweet mango with the spicy, tangy kick from the Tajín is a game changer. The portions are huge, the prices are more than fair (especially for the amount of food you get), and everything tasted fresh and made with care. It's become one of our favorite date night spots because you can have an amazing meal, a couple of drinks, and leave happy without feeling like you emptied your wallet. If you're looking for outstanding Tex-Mex, fantastic margaritas, stellar service and a fun atmosphere, Lucharitos Greenport absolutely delivers. We can't wait to come back!

This two-story waterfront restaurant has all the bougie summer vibes (at least upstairs). Our group of five dined over oysters, steak and frites, watermelon salad... Unfortunately, that wasn't possible during this visit because our waitress rarely checked on us, so I wanted to share our experience here. We made a reservation and weren't sure if it specified indoor or outdoor seating, so we called ahead. We were told that getting an upstairs outdoor table would be no problem. However, when we arrived, we were told our reservation was for inside seating only and that the wait for outside would be an additional 1 hour and 45 minutes. We really wanted to sit outside, but rather than make an issue of it, we decided to stay inside. Looking back, we probably should have left. The cocktails were underwhelming, especially considering the price. The highlights of the meal were the duck wings and calamari appetizers, which gave us high hopes for the entrees. Unfortunately, the entrees were a major disappointment. Two people ordered the halibut, and while we understand halibut is a delicate fish that can be difficult to prepare, the dish lacked flavor overall. The foam that came with it tasted horrible--almost soapy--and although the rice and eggplant were good, they weren't flavorful enough to complement the fish. I ordered the tuna burger and specifically requested it cooked medium because I didn't want it to be dry. Unfortunately, it arrived very dry, was falling apart, and lacked flavor. I ended up asking for a side of teriyaki sauce just to make it enjoyable- that didn't help at all and left half the sandwich in my plate. The tuna burger was supposed to come with sweet potato noodles, but they were out-which is not an issue for me, usually. The waitress asked if I'd like a substitute. None of the suggested sides appealed to me, so I asked if I could have the sweet potato purée instead since I saw it for the duck entree. Instead, I was initially served fries. I asked the person who served me, if I can get the puree, the server was confused but eventually understood. When the purée finally arrived, it was unfortunately inedible. The texture and taste reminded me of baby food, and even adding salt and pepper didn't help. I passed it around to the other folks at the table, all saying the same thing. What made the experience even more disappointing was the service. Our waitress never came back to check on our meals, so we never had the opportunity to share our concerns while we were dining. She spent much of the evening chatting with other staff members and seemed distracted with friends and kids running around near the lobster tank. When we finished, another server brought us the check, and no one asked how our meal was or if everything was satisfactory. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially for the amount we spent. The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, and has a great atmosphere, but unfortunately the food and service did not justify the price. We left wishing we had chosen somewhere else.
