Another great spot in Greenport! HB and I were celebrating and this establishment came highly recommended. We had reservation for 8pm and arrived just on time. We were initially seated by the door, but the owner/mgr quickly noticed that wasn't suppose to be our seat, so we waited a few minutes and changed to a better seating area closer to the bar. Inviting and welcoming spot...staff was pretty pleasant as well. We started off we some margaritas, everyone raved about them and I can see why! They were delicious! We then ordered guac and chips of course for starters. Main - I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos - delicious! HB ordered the steak fajitas, which i tasted and was also delicious! My husband and I are in town for a small getaway. This restaurant had great service, definitely felt welcomed. My husband and I ordered 2 appetizers to try (fried calamari and steamed clams), would recommend both! We also ordered 3 entrees to share as my pregnant self can't land on a final decision. We ordered the fajitas, sea scallops with mushroom truffle risotto, and salmon. Enjoyed all the entrees but would mostly recommend the sea scallops with mushroom truffle risotto (must try). We also ordered a chocolate molten cake to wrap up our dinner and honestly, not my fave molten cake. Would probably go for another dessert next time. Husband and I are in Greenport for a day/ evening Visit. Really needed "just us time". Are original intentions were to eat at Claudios and order the Captains Seafood platter but after eating our appetizers we left because we were very disappointed. Walking around town we crossed path with this gem of a restaurant. Of course I checked the Yelp reviews and was pleased how many favorable ones had been written. We sat at the bar and quickly realized we were surrounded by many locals having a wonderful time. We enjoyed chips, salsa and drinks. We ordered mango jalapeno margaritas and they were delicious. And expensive I may add. To be expected on the east end. We shared the fajitas that were served sizzling the way they should be. Perfect meal with a generous serving of chicken and vegetables. I love the fact that they put red pepper in the dish. Hard to find in other mexican/Spanish restaurants by me. Staff was nice, very hard working and accommodating. I wanted to check out this place for awhile but the prices seem high for Mexican food. It is a great looking space and has a nice atmosphere and it's Greenport so I guess the higher prices are justified. I ordered the St Germaine-Rita which was a great drink but the Margaritas are Manhattan prices. For dinner we ordered Enchiladas and Pollo Poblano. They were both made with fresh ingredients but lacked heat. The Pollo Poblano with Mole sauce had a strong cocoa flavor and no pepper flavor. The enchiladas were also somewhat bland. We did enjoy the fresh chips and salsa. The service was excellent. I probably will go back again to try out some other dishes but I wonder if the lack of heat is due to the location of the restaurant and type of customer or maybe the chef forgot the peppers. read more

Great cocktails, food and service at this Mexican restaurant on Front St. in Greenport. Many different 'Ritas to choose from. We went for the Cadillac and Top Shelf when we were advised that the jalapeños in the Jalapeño & Pineapple Margarita were hot today. Really hot? we asked. Yes, hotter than usual. Hot! Great drinks, worth a bit of a wait. My husband enjoyed his Fish Tacos. I had the salmon served over a tomato, corn, squash and zucchini ragú with a pleasant, not overpowering tomato sauce. Salmon was cooked medium rare as requested. Nice atmosphere, tables close enough to others but not too close. Given seasonal destination, the pricing was very reasonable. To start we've walked by this restaurant so many times and it's always busy and the food smells wonderful. Tonight we decided to try it and so pleased we did. We started off with drinks I had the blackberry frozen margarita... absolutely great. Next we had guacamole, salsa & chips.... Great!!! The salsa had just the right amount of heat and guacamole was delicious. My daughter had the grilled shrimp tacos and my husband and I both had the shrimp & scallop scampi.... This was by far the worst experience. Had the Salmon, taste terrible, the sauce taste old the Salmon was not seasoned just gross. My partner is black and I'm Hispanic they made it very well known we were NOT welcomed. Every single table was served chips and salsa, even customers that arrived after we did, our waiter was rude and disappeared constantly to the bar to grab a 'self worthy' drink. My daughter and I split a salad that surprised me with its deliciousness: arugula and watermelon topped with a light and flavorful vinaigrette. It was hands down the best salad on my trip -- and I'm not even a fan of watermelon! I wasn't bowled over with my entrée. My fault that I asked for shrimp tacos in a hard shell. Nothin' much in it but shrimp and a little garnish. My daughter's pollo poblano was okay, but the winning entrée was my mother's steak fajitas. Cooked medium as requested, the meat was tender and perfectly seasoned. Agave offers nice ambience, attentive service and a varied menu. On Friday night, the place was jumping. The server never asked us how our food was and did not know the happy hour rules. My wife got some sauce on her shirt and we had to ask twice for club soda which never came! I came here with my friends and husband for dinner. One friend and I both ordered a blood orange margarita. The drinks were meh and neither of us liked our margaritas (We have both tasted blood orange margarita many times prior to this evening). My friend decided that she'd stick with it while I proceeded to ask our wait staff if I could swap it for something else. He was immediately defensive and said, "What is wrong with it? A lot of people have ordered this drink and loved it. We never got any complaints about it." He was irritated and I was honestly shocked by his response. He then begrudgingly asked what I wanted to drink instead so I politely said Prosecco. Once he left our table, both of my friends told me that they were stunned by the waiter's response and never wanted to come here again. I seconded that. What then proceeded was that we waited over an hour for our food. I understand that it is Covid season and many restaurants were understaffed. However, it felt like a punishment for having spoken up earlier. Honestly, I was looking forward to coming to this restaurant having read the good reviews. But the taste of food could not overcompensate for the poor service we received from the waitress named Daisy. When I questioned Daisy about not getting our food after 40 minutes of waiting, her response was do you want your check. Instead her response should have been apologetic. Went in late afternoon Friday with a party of 8 without a reservation, sat at the bar and had sangria, great beer choices and margaritas. They quickly sat us and the food frenzy began....The wait staff was awesome, friendly and looking to please.
