Having worked here I'm going to be completely biased. Kind of. By far one of the best sub places in the area. You get tasty food and extremely attractive high school/college girls feeding you. You know if you like that then you'll like it here. Some days the girls are rude and the sandwiches sloppy but trust me you'll just keep on coming back!!! Bumper stickers everywhere that piss most democrats off. Some republicans too lol. The bathroom sucks and depending on the girl's day/mood it's for employees only haha. This place is a gem and I'd defend it in a heartbeat. Not only because the food is good but because this place HAS a soul. You can just feel it when you walk in and I mean that for a majority of the customers and the girls. As far as Bill.. he's gone now... forever will he hold a special place in our hearts and if it weren't for him you wouldn't have this little shit hole. We love you. Im so excited this place sells crab submarines! Perfect for pescetarians. I called subway and they said no longer carry seafood sandwhiches so happy this spot does. Seafood is the only subs I'll eat. The prices here are great. Plus you can add on maccaroni or potatoe salad unlike Subway. And i love supporting small businesses. Another cool perk is that the decorations are fun and nostalgic. Quirky space, fun, and very good subs. Can't go wrong with the Captain. I have been eating here for years. I have had various sandwiches and they are all pretty good. They're a great little shop and I wish I knew about them sooner. Great prices and sizes and when I'm craving a sandwich this is where I go. Not going to catch me at subway anymore that's for sure. They don't drown your sandwich in sauces and the bread is so good! I got the sourdough bread for my cold sub and it was perfect. The inside of the place is covered in so many random items that you won't even notice the short wait for the sub. Love this place! Established when I was 1yr old, and am turning 40 in 2020. They put Italian dressing on on everything unless requested otherwise. I love it though, meats and everything are fresh, bread is good, people are nice and down to earth customer service. I highly recommend to support this local establishment. We don't come here as often as we'd like but we love this place! The staff is really friendly and quick! Every time we order I feel like our order is ready as soon as we sit down! Our kids also split a sub and it's perfect for them. They also have some arcade games which we all love. There's plenty of dining space inside and outside! Located at the north east corner area of Peoria and 35th, Captain Bill's headlines a tiny strip mall with its crowded sit down area and small outside table patio. The first thing you notice after the inner decor is the low prices. A mini sub and chips and drink are just $5. And it's big enough for a nice lunch. You can go 10, 14 and 17 inch on the subs as well. I had a 14 inch sub and meal for just $8. Really pretty great deal. I got an Italian sub which was made with 4 meats and a nice soft tube of Italian bread. The sandwich wasn't the best ever, but still tasty. This shop is about the meal package so definitely recommend the meal if you go. It's clear that locals favor the shop as it was well trafficked during my late lunch visit. Overall, the price and novelty of the unique shop are worthy of 5 stars, but the generally above average taste of the sub doesn't warrant top billing. Still , Captain Bill's garners my 4 stars for being the long standing local legend of subs that it is. read more

Wanted to order 6' subs for the Fourth of July. I called they said they were open on Sunday the 3rd when the party was. I called to order then they say they are not open Sunday. I decided maybe we would just pick them up Saturday because I really wanted to support a local place. I called today to order at 1:12 in the afternoon and they tell me they can't place the order because the order needed to be in by 1:00. You mean to tell me they couldn't call the bread company and add 5 more 6' loaf's of bread? This place sounds like it's run by a bunch of children that have no idea how to run a business. Captain Bills is sinking, been in the neighborhood over ten years stopping in time to time and they have just been getting very skimpy on their sandwiches. Captain Bill's quickly became the only sub shop I visit. Great subs at an even better price. It's all great from the consistency of the macaroni and potato salads right down to the brownies! For myself the hardest part is choosing between the Captains Italian or the pastrami. You will be happy eating here and the price is fantastic. Do yourself a favor and give these guys a try. I love Capt'n Bills! I've been coming here since I was in high school and the food has been consistent! 10years and counting! Prices are more than fair especially for the amount of food you get. I never shy away from my turkey provolone with all the veggies. Don't forget the house dressing! Best addition to your cold sub without a doubt. I came to this location and got the combo special..8" inch for $4.00. It was combo, but nothing else came with it, so I was confused. Took it home and it was very good. The bread was so different! I called about 20mins prior to my order and when i get there expecting it to be done they tell me they just got the order but i called 20mins before and they asked how long till i wass gonna be there and i said 15mins....
