My friend and I live in the Surprise area and are hooked on Frank's Deli. We make sure to head to Frank's once a month. In my previous visits we have had the Meatball, Sausage, and Ruben sandwiches. I was hoping to try the Steak sandwich and was fortunate to get one today. Last time we went to Frank's they didn't have it on the menu that day. It comes with cheese ( I chose Provolone ) , lettuce, tomato, and mustard instead of mayo. The steak is Pork Butt ( a shoulder cut) . I loved it. It was sooo moist, tender, and flavorful. Another sandwich for my repertoire . My friend had a Meatball sandwich. You can't go wrong with that choice. Needless to say he loved his sandwich too. We got the pastrami sandwich, an Italian sandwich and a turkey as well. All of them were super good! Fresh bread 12" long, so it was good for two meals! The pickle was also so good. The deli is a family run establishment, which I love. The boys were running the orders to the Mom whom was making sandwiches like a machine! A crime this is 41 miles from my house! The parking is a little limited, but I was able to get a spot at 5pm on a Wednesday (hour before closing). When I entered, I was immediately greeted and surprised it was both a convenient store and a deli. Not what I was expecting, but loved as I could get a can of Cherry Coke to go with my meal (my fav)! Both the person who took my order and the person who made my sub were very friendly. They even threw in a cannoli which was DELICIOUS! Though the location is small, it was quaint and I could see either dining in at one of the tables or taking to go like I did this visit. Was blessed with this for lunch by our team lead after volunteering. It's been on my list for a hot minute but time just never has me in the area Was able to help go pick up all the stuff and really get the full experience of this literal corner deli slinging out some of the best sandwiches this side of the Atlantic (so anywhere) I believe I had a section for the Tony sub and that capicola on there had a good spice to it along with the pepperoni and salami to really take the entire sandwich to the next level. Found this place in the middle of the day decided to pop in and I'm glad I did. Inside is a great classic deli feel. I went with the tony which was phenomenal. A true treasure. First time to this little hole in the wall eatery was amazing. We returned a couple of weeks later (This week). When we stepped up to the counter to place our order, I asked my wife what it was that I had ordered the first time. Before she could answer, the owner (Son) told me it was the Reuben. Had them make a corned beef special and Hey, was it special! These are "blue collar" portions meaning if you're there for lunch you are good until dinner at 7 . The staff are several generations working this place and they know what they are doing. The guys were so kind and I could see how the regulars that come in know what they want and love coming there. Wow! The pickle alone got my attention. Never had anything close to it. This place seems to be in the middle if nowhere, but it's quite a standout. First let me tell you, parking is limited. Once you do park and come inside you feel like you've stepped back in time a few years to a Mom & Pop deli/convenience store. The folks working here are the friendliest people. And soon learn it's truly a Mom and Pop shop with Mom and son behind the counter, taking orders and making everyone's meal. We order The Tony and NY Style, shop the coolers for something to drink, bring it back to the register when they tell us our sandwich is ready, and pay. Slide into one of the booths and commence to eating. Well we made a small dent. The sandwiches, not necessarily huge, but filled with so much meat I knew it would be impossible for me to eat in one setting. My friend went back to the counter to ask for more of their Italian dressing. That stuff certainly kicks it up a few notches. What a fantastic place, we thought maybe we had made a wrong turn but out of the blue stands a little brick building with 'Delicatessen' inscribed on the side, so we knew we were n the right place. The menu is simple but clean and you know will be well executed. We opted for a classic Reuben and a cold turkey sub and both were perfection. The Reuben was well-dressed and had plenty of flavor and the turkey was perfectly balanced with each component contributing to the overall appeal. One of the owners (son) was happy to tell us about their story, being there for 28 years, introduce us to his Mom who was churning out orders like a pro and his brother, all while pointing out their pictures proudly displayed by the register. They were kind and considerate and very appreciative to every customer they interacted with, which is so nice to see. In a world of choices this is the kind of place I want to see thrive. Grabbed lunch here and so glad we gave it a try. We stopped by around 2pm on Tuesday and there was a steady flow of customers. We were quickly greeted as we walked in and given a copy of the menu to look over. We both ordered turkey sandwiches and I added bacon to mine. We also got two drinks and we then grabbed a table. We didn't wait too long and the friendly employee brought us our food. The sandwiches were big and in my case I could've shared my other half. First time coming here, placed a call in order told him I'd be there in about 10 minutes. Arrived and our order was ready, we had 4 subs and all had some customization to it and all were made correctly. Portions are huge and everything was fresh,staff were friendly. I'd definitely recommend and I'd definitely come back! It is like a corner market, and I honestly didn't pay too much attention if there were tables to sit at and eat as we grabbed our order to go. Been coming to Franks for years. This was my weekly - sometimes daily sandwich spot. The owners are great. The sandwiches are delicious I get a ham and cheese with all the fixings - extra jalapeño and Italian dressing. I grab two bags of chips and usually an amazing soda from the coolers.
