My friend and I live in the Surprise area and are hooked on Frank's Deli. We make sure to head to Frank's once a month. In my previous visits we have had the Meatball, Sausage, and Ruben sandwiches. I was hoping to try the Steak sandwich and was fortunate to get one today. Last time we went to Frank's they didn't have it on the menu that day. It comes with cheese ( I chose Provolone ) , lettuce, tomato, and mustard instead of mayo. The steak is Pork Butt ( a shoulder cut) . I loved it. It was sooo moist, tender, and flavorful. Another sandwich for my repertoire . My friend had a Meatball sandwich. You can't go wrong with that choice. Needless to say he loved his sandwich too. The deli is a family run establishment, which I love. The boys were running the orders to the Mom whom was making sandwiches like a machine! Voted in Yelp's Best Sandwiches in every state and I can definitely see why! Great prices, amazing portion sizes, and hands down the best tuna sub I've EVER had. A crime this is 41 miles from my house! The parking is a little limited, but I was able to get a spot at 5pm on a Wednesday (hour before closing). When I entered, I was immediately greeted and surprised it was both a convenient store and a deli. Not what I was expecting, but loved as I could get a can of Cherry Coke to go with my meal (my fav)! Both the person who took my order and the person who made my sub were very friendly. They even threw in a cannoli which was DELICIOUS! I have been to Franks 2x so far. This is a family owned and operated place. We have had the Italian sub and the meatball. Both times Frank's wife made the sandwiches. Her son rang me up. They make sandwiches that taste the way they are supposed to. Right meats, seasoning, sub roll, the whole thing. I'm just sorry it took me so long to figure it out. I really like their potato salad. (Like my mom's) and my wife loved their cannoli(s) dining area was clean and they had lots of customers! They have a large selection of chips and drinks as well. A true treasure. First time to this little hole in the wall eatery was amazing. We returned a couple of weeks later (This week). Talk about an amazing sandwich shop. We were not disappointed by this place. Parking can be a challenge, but we got up front. The staff are several generations working this place and they know what they are doing. The guys were so kind and I could see how the regulars that come in know what they want and love coming there. We were able to find a table to eat and it was nice to grab a pack of chips and soda from all the choices there. They prefer cash but will take a card. Wow! The pickle alone got my attention. Never had anything close to it. This place seems to be in the middle if nowhere, but it's quite a standout. First let me tell you, parking is limited. What a fantastic place, we thought maybe we had made a wrong turn but out of the blue stands a little brick building with 'Delicatessen' inscribed on the side, so we knew we were n the right place. The menu is simple but clean and you know will be well executed. We opted for a classic Reuben and a cold turkey sub and both were perfection. The Reuben was well-dressed and had plenty of flavor and the turkey was perfectly balanced with each component contributing to the overall appeal. One of the owners (son) was happy to tell us about their story, being there for 28 years, introduce us to his Mom who was churning out orders like a pro and his brother, all while pointing out their pictures proudly displayed by the register. Grabbed lunch here and so glad we gave it a try. We stopped by around 2pm on Tuesday and there was a steady flow of customers. We were quickly greeted as we walked in and given a copy of the menu to look over. We both ordered turkey sandwiches and I added bacon to mine. We also got two drinks and we then grabbed a table. We didn't wait too long and the friendly employee brought us our food. The sandwiches were big and in my case I could've shared my other half. Been coming to Franks for years. This was my weekly - sometimes daily sandwich spot. The owners are great. The sandwiches are delicious I get a ham and cheese with all the fixings - extra jalapeño and Italian dressing. I grab two bags of chips and usually an amazing soda from the coolers.
