A full store of all things Italian for the serious chefs.

When you walk through the door of this little deli, you are greeted like you are home. Everyone is so friendly and that is refreshing in a big metropolis like Phoenix. We saw all the desserts right when we walked in and let me tell you, sooooo good. We settled for deli sandwiches and some salads. All very good. I plan to try everything on the menu so this will one of many reviews. The value was quite reasonable and we had leftovers, so two meals from one sandwich! So much meat on it that you fill up fast. The best part about being in the deli is the atmosphere. There is a full grocery store of Italian foods, people eating at the dining area and ordering going on at the deli counter. It is a fun place to be. Highly recommend!

Been here before but forgot to leave a review. I love these sandwiches, they load them up and love the shredded lettuce. I got the mortadella and cheese and added prosciutto. It was fantastic. My husband got the George's special and he loved it. The antipasto mix salad was fantastic so much meat and veggies. Service was great the guy who took our order at the counter was patient as we decided on what to get. Love that u can shop for snacks and Italian pasta and sauces while u wait. Desert also looked amazing.

We loved this deli! Ordered the Italian Stallion and Rueben, they were amazing! The corned beef was so tender and the bread was perfect! We went 3x this week. It's a great place to have lunch and just enjoy being in a community feel deli.

Finally returned after many years. The chicken cutlets are now in an open area (too open i think), but they are all hot. They never heard of a cold chicken cutlet hero even though I think they are from NY. Well, I tried the eggplant parmesan hero for $12.99 and that was pretty good, although there definitely could have been some more mozzarella cheese involved.

Romanelli's is an staple in Phoenix and one of the best Italian deli's and markets I have been to. I am rarely in the area so every time I get the chance, we stop in. Today I got the chicken cutlet sandwich with everything on it and added mayo. My sister got the Italian stallion sub. we got a medium size of the Caprese salad and Italian sodas. We also ordered cannolis and assorted cookies from the baked goods area. The food is incredible but the staff is truly what makes this place special. Everyone is so kind and make sure that you have a good experience every time. They have a large variety of imported goods of high-quality from Italy and other European countries. While they have a lot of inventory, everything is organized in a way that makes sense and doesn't feel overwhelming. If you haven't had the opportunity to go to Romanelli's, I encourage you to go as soon as humanly possible.

The best kept secret on the west side of PHX! Fresh bread and great sandwiches the pastas is phenomenal as well. Definitely worth the price for quantity and quality you get. If you have a hankering for some great Italian food this place won't disappoint. PS the lemon chello cake is AMAZING

I've been here a few times and every single time it has been so much better than the first! I've been back so much. I've really learned the personalities of the family who owned it and worked there and they are absolutely amazing. Today we ordered George's special, which was the Italian sub and it was incredible. Very spicy. It wasn't a cheap visit today just now we have to go home and make sauce.... I WOULD RECOMMEND

We arrived from Oregon for a trade show and wanted some tasty sandwiches and found Romanellis Deli. We are so glad we stopped by this place. We ordered 3 sandwiches and each one was a piece of heaven. The bread is perfect and must be baked daily as it was so fresh. The construction of the sandwich is true perfection and the meats are cut nice and thin. The Italian dressing on the sandwich is amazing and pulls the whole sando together. We saved one half of a sandwich and even the next day it was so good and the bread was not soggy. On our way back to Portland we stopped by at 9 in the morning and ordered 3 more sandwiches for lunch on the airplane. The second visit did not disappoint and everyone in our group was so happy we stopped by to grab these amazing sandwiches for our trip. The staff is super friendly and the service is amazingly fast. The desserts are next level yummy! They have a huge selection of italian goodies that you cannot find in many stores. We brought home a jar of their pasta sauce for dinner when we got home and I don't think it could be any better. It felt like we were eating at a fancy italian restaurant at home. Overall this place is amazing and we cannot wait to come back to try some of the other sandwiches on the menu as well as the pasta salads and olives in the deli counter. If you are in Phoenix, make the drive and you will be so happy you visited Romanellis Deli. Thank you for the wonderful food.

In our day's Sunnyslope business, our niece took us to Kris Frybread. Arriving we saw Dawn's. She said Dawn's gets high ratings too. After our excellent Kris meal I made my way to Dawn's. I am infamous in the family for my dessert rxtravagance. But I share with all at our table. Take your choice! Our niece got cannoli, I got lidded shortbread custard cups, vanilla and almond. Sweet D got a cherry and an apple turnover delivered into the box. It is five days later. My sugar intake has dropped a lot. In our home baking we cut sugar ingredients by half. Older Hopi bakers put in enough sugar for a hint of sweet in their cookies. Modern bakers glaze them. I'll take those traditional ones. When I say the shortbread cup with custard was too sweet for me, that's my 21st century palate speaking. The almond cup was a buy-again item for me, still sweet, very almond. The cherry turnover was flaky, the filling tart, oozing fillng and cherries. The gold medal, blue ribbon "I'd buy this again, for sure is the apple turnover. We will return for some more flaky, apple-y goodness. The webpage makes mymouth water. I see many items are normal and mini sized. Great idea Dawn.

Have a meal at The Sicilian Butcher and then follow that up with dessert at The Sicilian Baker. There are several locations in town, with this one being in North Phoenix. On my most recent visit, I stopped by on a Thursday. Parking tends to be busy in their complimentary lot, but you'll find a spot. Ambiance (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is connected to The Sicilian Butcher. It's a small bakery, with only a few seats. More of a grab-and-go type of spot or the source of your dessert if you're dining at the restaurant. While small, the decor and ambiance is nice. Service (3/5): A little bit of bad luck, but on my most recent visit, they were having trouble with their refrigeration so no gelato was available. While interacting with the staff, it was an average experience. I will say that the service was much better in the restaurant. Drinks (N/A): I only got dessert, but they do have coffee and a few other beverages available. Food (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is known for its cannolis, tiramisu, gelato, and lobster claws (dessert, not real lobster haha). On my most recent visit, I had a cannoli. They have your classic cannoli but also a nice variety of other fillings including pistachio, Reese's, and more. A+ for creativity, though I decided to stick with the classic. Solid. In fact, all of the desserts I've had here over the years have been quite good.

I can't speak on the customer service as we never left our table and our waited just walked over and got what we needed. We were pretty stuffed from our massive meal, but we decided on sharing a cup of gelato just to satisfy our sweet tooth. I peeked inside as our table was right at a little walkway from the restaurant to the bakery. Gelato is just one of many things they serve here. They also have all your typical Italian desserts. Cakes like tiramisu, pastries like Italian flag cookies, cookies like Italian wedding cookies, cannolis of different varieties, and of course gelato. What was suggested to us if we wanted gelato was the hazelnut flavor. I was expecting a little cup for the 6 of us just to get a taste, but what he brought over was a massive serving. I don't know how many scoops it was or even how much we even paid, but we all got plenty with some even left behind. Now this gelato was life changing. Probably the best I've had in the states. I know it's gotta be way better in Italy, but I'll take what I can when I can. Think of a Ferrero Rocher but in gelato form. It was delicious and I couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't overly sweet and it had a little crunch with bits of chocolate and hazelnuts. My sweet tooth was extremely satisfied after having dessert here. I have literally been thinking about that gelato since I left Phoenix. Luckily this company has locations in Texas so I will definitely be seeking out this gelato soon.
