Lobster Ceviche

If you're visiting Galveston this summer, you absolutely have to add @CaptainCeviche to your list! This amazing local food truck serves up the most delicious Lobster dishes and freh made Ceviches! . . I tried the Lobster Tacos, Lobster Ceviche, & Redfish Ceviche and when I tell you they were all delicious and packed with flavor, baby they were!! Plus everything came out fast and the customer service was impeccable. . . The have so many options to choose from: Lobster Roll Lobster Grilled Cheese Lobster Taco (GF) Lobster Ceasar Salad (GF w/out Croutons) Lobster Ceviche (GF) Shrimp Ceviche (GF) Shark Ceviche (GF) Crab Ceviche (GF) Mixto Ceviche (GF) Agauchiles Verde (GF) Shrimp Cocktail (GF) Housemade Agua Frescas & Micheladas You really can't go wrong with any of their dishes! You can also visit their second location in Pasadena, Tx! Pro Tip: Get there earlier than later because they sell out of their best sellers fast & ask for daily special Ceviches they may be featuring when you visit!

It breaks my heart to leave a 3 star review but I can't rate higher. The size of the lobster roll is incredibly misleading and a true disappointment. All of the pictures online make it look like a normal sized roll, when in reality it's the size of half of a hotdog bun. Maybe they ran out of regular rolls the day I went but it was an absolute joke. The lobster portions look huge because the roll is so tiny. Size aside, although size matters!, the flavor was wonderful. For the size, it should be $12-15, not $22. I've had the ceviche many times and it's always good. The traditional is my favorite. The redfish is too fishy for my taste. Definitely recommend adding the avocado and hot sauce!!! It makes all the difference! I also had the lemonade, which was an enormous portion and incredibly delicious! If you're not very hungry, I recommend the lobster roll.

We were seated right away, but I saw another group of 3 wait so long to be seated that they left. The ambiance is fantastic and the servers were friendly, although not attentive. The food was so good and the margaritas went down smoothly! But we sat with empty drinks a lot and slow service. Thankfully, we (my boyfriend and I ) enjoy each other's company immensely. If we didn't, it would have been a frustrating experience. Will I go back? Of course. Will I recommend it to others? Yes, but don't be in a hurry. You're on island time.

The other side is a bar. The restaurant has nice atmosphere with cool Mexican theme decor. They actually use the empty Tequila Azul bottles and use as table lamps. Servers are friendly but a bit slow in service. Good prices are very reasonable and the food is good. Fish was a bit overdone and needed a little seasoning. Also you have to watch the fish bones when eating. They have a great variety of drinks served in cool Mexican pottery cups. Definitely will return and recommend you check them out.

Why 5 stars? Because this might be my new favorite restaurant in Galveston…read more --- --- --- We had been in Galveston for a couple of days, and while we had some solid meals, we were feeling kind of gross and overstuffed. Fish Company Taco proved to be like finding water in the desert. A lot of Galveston eateries are very similar, in that there's an ample amount of fried seafood on the menu, which is not exactly what you're looking for when you're in the bloated, but wanting to eat *something* state that we were in. My thought was: fish tacos are relatively light and we can walk there from our hotel - how do you beat that? What I didn't realize is that this place probably belongs more in the Heights than Galveston. And I mean that in a good way. The menu is very hipster-coded. And the food matches with hipster quality. It's hard to say what my favorite item even was. The one thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the fish dip - it was just okay. Everything else ranged from good to great. We tried... The burger: FYI, it's more like a double stacked slider than a burger, but delicious. 3 Tacos: Dirty South, Empire and Korean Flavors. I really liked the empire and the korean flavors, but thought the dirty south had a little too much going on with the pimento cheese and chips. Sticky Shrimp: I don't even know how to describe this, but it was delicious. I thought it as more like bang bang shrimp, but it was more fried that I expected. But not hardcore fried - they almost had the airy texture of fried pork skins, but were much tastier. Chili marinated Cucumbers and corn ribs: Simple, refreshing and addicting. But I liked the cucumbers a bit more. They also had some fresh juices and we enjoyed both the mango and the coconut lime concoctions. An easy 5-stars for me and a place I will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Galveston.

The Vietnamese taco stood out the most for me, while the Baja and Korean flavors were just okay, not really my favorites. Overall, it's a chill spot with a relaxed vibe and not too crowded. I'd recommend coming during happy hour to get the best experience.

My favorite were the ribs. Cooked perfectly. Tender but not falling off the bone. Well trimmed. Great flavor. Basted lightly in a bbq sauce. The brisket was good and appears to be their most popular item (they run out frequently). But I've had other brisket that I like better. I like their bbq sauce and they gave an ample portion on the side. It's a small place and there is no eating inside although they have outdoor seating. It's counter service. And a big plus is you watch them carve and weigh your meat while the person at register keys in exactly what you owe. Process was friendly and expedient. I had to stop myself multiple times from going back to make sure we could try the other places on our list but this one was by far one of my absolute favorites. The service was amazing and very fast and while we didn't eat here the area to eat here was very cute and outside, which in Texas is my favorite. If you ever have the opportunity to stop in here and grab some tamales and brisket I HIGHLY recommend it!
