Food is great. I tried it for my first time a week ago after seeing the sign for years. Service depends on your waitress. My first time everything was perfect from food to the greeting from the waitress for a Togo order. Second time we went our waitress Elizabeth seemed mad at everything we ordered and was just generally in a very weird bad mood. Why have a restaurant if you don't want people ordering the food. (Maybe she's used to people sharing one item) The food is so incredible we didn't even think twice about coming back as no question we will be back. This is the place no matter how much of a b*itch your server is you still come back. Fried yellowtail all the different ways they have are incredible. Captains style is my favorite with key lime butter, scallions, tomato, and Parmesan. The jalapeño encrusted yellowtail is incredible as well. Dragon cauliflower is some of the best fried cauliflower I've had. The fish dip I liked more than the fish house as it came with chopped condiments. Have been to the new "Craig's" now numerous times. The new owners have created a fantastic menu. Everything is amazing. The fried fish and shrimp platter was crispy and juicy. The Stone Crab Chowder has to be tried. It's that good! The Spanish salad, the French dip all delicious. I haven't had anything yet that wasn't great. Oh and the service is just as good. Can I just say OMG!? We found ourselves in the area for work and were feeling a little hungry. I immediately opened up my Yelp app and looked for local favorites. This little gem popped up and off we went to explore it. Immediately upon walking in we were greeted by very friendly staff. First impression was that the restaurant was very quaint and clean. I had to use the restroom after a long drive and found the restroom to be very nice and clean also. I can always tell a lot about a place based on their restroom and was relieved that this place was very very clean. Our server was Jill and she was very personable and friendly. I ordered the pineapple mimosa, shrimp Po boy and on her recommendation, the calamari as an appetizer. I have to say that none of it disappointed. Everything was so tasty and fresh! My husband had the grouper fish sandwich off of the lunch menu and I tasted it and, wow! It was so good. He couldn't finish it and took the other half in a doggie bag. He never takes a doggie bag so this was a huge compliment! Anyhoo, we were very happy with this restaurant and look forward to coming back when we are in the area again. Although the service was slow (pretty much a nationwide problem nowadays) but the food was worth waiting for. Delicious. Generous portions and very reasonable prices. Have a second home in the keys and have been visiting almost every weekend. We have 3-4 "go to" places that never do us wrong but we heard about this place from a friend. My goal for my Key West road trip was to eat all the fish. On my journey I came across Captain Craig's and was so happy to find the most amazing fish dinners. The specials for the evening included a Mediterranean preparation of the fresh catch and I have to say this was both of our favorites. The flavors of this dish are so amazing. It made the mango salsa preparation of my fish just pale in comparison. I also skipped the coconut encrusted part of my dish due .. thank you chef for doing that! We left our resort and drove eight miles each way here because of the reviews. . . and it was worth it. I liked the chill, unassuming atmosphere, the service, and the food. I ordered a shrimp scampi entree over pasta, and my husband ordered the "Key Lime Seafood" dish (an assortment of seafood over rice), and we split an appetizer of calamari. They mixed up the orders and put mine over rice and his over noodles, and kept apologizing profusely and offering to re-make it, even though we said we were fine with it and it was no big deal. My food was excellent, and so was my husband's. He raved about the sauce on his dish and how flavorful it was without being heavy. They gave us a complimentary slice of key lime pie to take with us to make up for the pasta/rice mix-up, which I thought was a nice gesture. We ate it later, and it was also really good-- could definitely taste the fresh lime in it (in fact, it was better than the key lime pie we got from a well-known place in Key West). read more

After riding and becoming more hungry we decided to try Craig's. Best decision ever. My wife had the fish and shrimp basket. I, of course, sampled hers and found it to be delicious. The breading was a panko style. Very good. I had Craig's famous fish sandwich. It's Mahi and I had mine blackened. This was by far the best meal I've had thus far while in the Keys. This is our first trip to the Keys so we were looking for a dinner recommendation from other reviews. This place did not disappoint! We ordered calamari that was lightly and perfectly fried, the pineapple/coconut bread was like dessert and our entrees were equally amazing. My husband got a seafood medley in key lime butter (seriously yum) and my whole fried snapper was as good as it looked. The oregano cauliflower was a great side with the snapper.
