I haven't been to a Captain D's in a very long time. I needed a bite to eat and there was one close by so I popped in. It looks like every other location that I've been to. The dining area was clean and inviting if you want to sit and enjoy yourself. I got mine to go. I was greeted by very friendly smiling faces and that was a big plus in my opinion. The food is hot and tasty only if you walk in and the service is questionable if there's anyone at the counter besides a young lady name Diamond! She's exceptionally kind attentive and customer service I really don't have anything negative to say about this establishment. It's always clean and very rarely crowded again. The atmosphere is OK. The decor is OK. The food is OK when you order it from inside the customer service again. I only recommend diamond work at the counter because the young man that was at the register today was very rude not effective did not give me choices and rushed me through my order. Management was there and seen as if they were going through an audit. The young man seemed frazzled and unsure of what he was doing again poor choices were made. Came here last night (March 15) and went through the drive thru. The wait time was around 15 mins and my food was fresh, hot, and correct. I ordered the 3 piece fish meal with okra and mac n cheese. It was kind of pricey but that's expected because of it being seafood. I will definitely come back when the mood strikes. read more

Be sure to ask for the specific Sauce(s) you want when you pick up your food. Malt Vinegar & Hot Sauce Packets are on the Table. The new Coastal Design is refreshing & has been successful in other locations. Went inside for lunch today. It took several minutes for someone to take my order, and they were about as excited as Steven Wright. After someone brought me the wrong meal, my lunch came to the table. The food did not taste fresh. The hush puppies, in particular, were mushy and stale (no crunch at all). The seafood was not terrible, but it had the consistency of something left under the warming lamp for a long time. The sides were bland. The drink was the best part of the entire experience. Two stars? I don't usually give such a low rating, but nothing was good. Oh and the floors are very slippery. Not sure if it is grease or cleaning fluids. Hopefully the latter. read more

The sarcastic, rude employees at this location demanded we put masks on even though the Shelby county mask mandate EXPIRED on OCTOBER 27. I pointed this out but was ignored by the employee taking our order with her mask pulled down under her nose and mouth. Ignorance at its best. read more

First went to this Captain D's when it opened. The fish was not cooked. I went again tonight. The fish was not cooked, and I was stupid enough to eat a bite of the coleslaw before smelling it. The coleslaw tasted and smelled like RAW FISH! This crappy place better not get me sick. This is the WORST fast food business I ever experienced. They need to close ASAP. read more

Monday evening around 6:30. This Captain Ds had carry out, curbside, and drive-thru service. I usually rate the food more than anything else, but this review is mostly on the service we received. Food was OK. Service was the pits. I don't know what it is about how this pandemic is affecting service at restaurants. It seems service would be better than normal since not as many people are eating out and EVERY order counts. But we've experienced so much rudeness and inaccurate orders in the past 2 months, and this Captain D's was some of the worst. Went in for carry out for 3 people. Ordered dinners that had fish, chicken, shrimp, macaroni and cheese, and baked potatoes, one of which was loaded. Gave a big smile and "Hi!" when I stepped up to order. Cashier was totally flat-faced. Okayyy. Ordered. Paid. Sat down in the chairs blocking off the dining room to wait. There were 5 crew members in the front, talking loudly about graduation and presents one of them had gotten for her boyfriend. Order came up and the cashier called across and asked what sauces I wanted. I told her, and she brought 2 tarter, 2 cocktail, and 2 honey mustard-- for 4 big pieces of fish, 18 shrimp, and 4 chicken tenders. She was clearly bothered. I asked for more of the sauces. She didn't respond. But did walk over and get some. She brings the extra back. I'm looking to make sure we got what we needed and she stood there. I assumed she was still waiting on me-- the customer right in front of her!-- but she turned her back while I was talking and started talking on her headset to a customer outside. When she finished, I asked if the potato had butter and sour cream on it (as it's shown in the menu photo and described as, "A generous sized potato cooked to fluffy perfection and then served with butter and sour cream.") I saw a barely perceptible nod of her head. Then, you'd think she would have offered it for the other potato, but she didn't. So I asked and got the slight head movement again to indicate "no". I asked her to repeat the butter and sour cream. I asked for the sauces and the box that had shrimp in it to go in a different bag. She tore it off the hanger and gave it to ME to bag up my stuff. Then walked to the drive-thru without so much as a "thank you" or acknowledgement that the people in front of her had chosen her employer that night out of all those on Germantown Parkway who are hurting for customers in this crazy time, and that those two simple words might have had us returning. The foods this place sell usually require sauces to make them taste best. The customer should not be made to feel like a burden when he/she tries to make sure the order includes those sauces, especially for potatoes which are quite dry without some kind of butter, sour cream, and salt. Those things should automatically be included with the order. This review is much longer and more detailed than I intended. Getting tired of the "customer is a bother" attitude so many restaurant workers currently show. read more

Visited this Captain D's located on Germantown Parkway, Memphis, TN . Had to wait 20 minutes for a white Fried fish dinner, Requiring that I pull forward and wait. Finally I had to get it out of my car and go inside. They had a cold fish dinner waiting for me. Requested a full refund. The restaurant appears to be unclean unsanitary and the employees not organized. I will not go back to this Captain D's ever. read more

Hello. I went to this location on Monday (Jan. 29) and placed my order. I ordered the grilled fish and shrimp with corn and green beans. I also asked for the $4.99 salmon dish. Well after waiting a few minutes I finally received my order. There was NO corn in my bag and they'd prepared a sampler and not salmon cakes. I was irritated because I had to turn around and come back to the restaurant. After waiting behind another car for a few minutes, I was attended to. The manager said she did not hear salmon. I assumed it was because I pronounced salmon the correct way-with the silent "L." I was given a refund finally after debating with the manager about MY order. I was frustrated at this point because of the entire process. I will not visit this location anymore since the customer service here is lacking. Oh well. read more
