Restaurant & buffet rocks! Visited today on Sunday and learned, on Sunday afternoon to 4 pm, they offer 5 dollars off the buffet. What a bargain at $44.99! All the food from starters, main staples, fresh crab legs, varieties of shrimp and desserts were all scrumptious. The food was maintained well on the buffet and for a Sunday afternoon they were busy but not overrun. The server 'April' was patient, friendly and so helpful! Will be returning again and again. A nice clean restaurant and a decent variety of steamed and fried seafood, and pretty much all the other fillers as well You can make yourself a nice salad to start and end with something from the the dessert table. All in all it was decent for the $$ The staff was really friendly and courteous and most importantly they are so attentive. The quality of Captain George's food has went down tremendously!!! The Captain George's that opened on the OBX and the one in Va beach were my absolute favorite place to go growing up and now I live in Kentucky and all I've been thinking about was going on Vacation and eating that amazing seafood! But on July 3rd 2025 all of that changed drastically... for me and my family!!! The crab imperial had imitation crab meat now instead of real crab, the Norfolk plate that had the mixed seafood in it now no longer has real crab meat in it that's now imitation crab meat as well... they now have cheap fish, popcorn shrimp, dried up oyster Rockefellers, and rubbery crab legs that are way smaller than we remember, not to mention the photographers that walk around and take pictures of everyone, then come back to the table selling them for $15 apiece! For the amount of money we paid per person (which were acually really nice photos so we spent $200 on those alone!) I guess we'll have those photos as memories of the old Captain George's.. This place used to be something to look forward to but sadly I've come to the conclusion that I will never step foot back in that restaurant again especially after spinning $800 tonight... that included 11 people, 2 mix drinks and 4 shots plus whatever drinks everyone else were drinking, plus my husband and I tipped $100 to the waiter...We walked away with 900 less dollars and highly disappointment because now we have to find a new favorite seafood buffet ... read more

4/5! After looking for a seafood buffet that has unlimited AYCE crab legs, I've finally found one! Captain George's really hit all the main points I was looking for in an AYCE seafood buffet. One, endless crab legs. Two, a variety of seafood entrees. and three, well priced. And yes, this place definitely hit all of them. The Food: First things first, the crab legs. Crab legs were steamy hot and weren't overcooked at all. The restaurant allows you to pile as much as you want on your plate, so its all fair game! They also have other options as well like, crawfish, dungeness crab legs, mussels and etc. All cooked very well and flavorful. They have other non-seafood options as well, but I mainly stayed to what was worth the money. The Service: The service was great, the staff were friendly and were on top of water refills and plate pickups. They also had tons of options that were always well stock at the buffet so you wouldn't miss out on any items you wanted to try. For about $45, it's hard to beat. Overall, a 4/5! Our first time here tonight !! Greeted with a smile and kind words only waited about 20 minutes ...thinking because we went early. We had a party of 9 and everyone enjoyed the buffet ...especially the crab legs! Our server, Lisette K., was exceptional! Let's start with the atmosphere, it was a huge place, plenty of seating, and a huge bar. Restaurant was clean and inviting. It was super busy, but we sat down right away. The food was great, always fresh- and you never had to wait for crab legs because they were constantly refilling them. There is a variety of seafood no matter what you're looking for, grilled, broiled, grilled and fried. It is expensive about $50 a person so keep that in mind. I've been to a couple of these places and I thought this one was just the same as all the rest. It is a little bit smaller and there were a couple of less offerings but it is what it is. It's roughly $60 all you can eat and the food was good. It was hot and the place was clean. This place has been a must visit on our trips to obx but honestly this last time will be our last. We've had better food at home hours from the ocean. Crab legs we get from kroger and steam at home are better than what's served here. All the seafood had a terrible fishy taste and yes it's seafood but I've had enough to know that isn't the norm and certainly didn't happen anywhere else we ate. The brisket was so tough it couldn't be chewed. Overall just wasn't a good experience thanks to mediocre food at a high cost. We were seated really quickly and our server got our drink orders within three minutes of sitting down, which was awesome. We chose to eat from the buffet rather than ordering since we were in so close to closing time. A lot of the food was good, not great. And a lot of the food was just okay, dry or greasy. Which is to be expected from a buffet. Overall, just an okay restaurant. I have no plans to return because the food was not worth 50$ a person!
