With that being said theres 5 different types of Crab Legs and Lobster Claws , with several types a fried and baked Fish , Steak and a whole section of fried oysters, Scallops, different sizes of fried Shrimp then there was broiled and steamed of the above it all was incredible and they do have a small menu to order from its worth it. The Crab Legs were sooo fresh the meat just pulled right. Wish they were open on Sundays we would have gone back to it instead of the other not as good seafood buffet. Service wasn't something to comment on. Not tipping $50 for 1 refill. Sorry! Just not. The tables are very closes together and screaming kids, not babies who thought it was funny. There wasn't really a reason to dress up for. Tshirt and shorts and you fit right in. It needs a little more room. Your sitting right on top of each other and the food. Jaimie was a FANTASTIC server today., friendly and very attentive. My daughter and I once again went for our yearly mother-daughter lobster fest, and once again Jimmy's SF Buffet was absolutely awesome Every year JSF Buffet is the highlight of our summer vacation in the OBX, thoroughly enjoying the lobster, crabs, calamari, plus so much more! I think they reduced the number of tables a bit , which is much appreciated as it's been difficult to just pass by tables in the past. This also helped to improve our overall experience even more. OK, it's not too often that we dined in a buffet like this. But where else are you going to find King, Dunginess, Blue, 2 types of Stone, and 3 types of Snow Crabs in an All You Can Eat setting? And on top of all that, Lobster tails were on the serving table as well. You may want to consider visiting on Wednesday due to having over 10 different types of Crabs being served. Besides the seafood, there's plenty of non- seafood items offered every night. Their pricing are high when compared to other buffet restaurants. But such price reflects the high end items like lobsters and King Crabs being all you can eat. You may want to avoid peak hours as it does get crowded then, and may have to wait. Way way too many tables. Very hard to get back and forth to the buffet. Tables even in the lobby. Lots of crab choices but most were not hot. Fairly nice staff. Men's bathroom is 1 sink, 1 urinal and 1 stall. No way is this enough to even just wash hands. read more

Welcome to a buffet done well. Saw a plane flying with a banner ad for Jimmy's. Wasn't sure what to expect after plane flyby, but everything was very good. This buffet on this night had 11 different crab options. One was labeled as from "Alaskan Deadliest Catch." Each night they offer crab, lobster and a slew of other options fried, baked or steamed. Multiple choices for dessert however, I partook of so many crabs, I just couldn't do dessert. Parking is spacious. Servers clear shell remnants very quickly. If one loves all things crab, Jimmy's is the place to be! The first thing one might think is that Jimmy's expensive. If one considers the cost of the various types of crab, the price of the buffet is more than reasonable in my opinion. More for us who appreciate the product & brand that Jimmy's pushes. The buffet had everything a seafood lover needs. No frills, fancy signage, or floral displays. Temperature and flavor of everything we tried was great! I tried the mussels, clams, Jonah Crabs, King Crabs, Jumbo Alaskan crab, Regular Alaskan Crabs, and my favorite were the Dungeness Crabs! They were sweet and juicy!!! I learned I wasn't a fan of Mahi(never tried before) & the stuffed mushrooms were way too salty. My friends and I loved Jimmy's because it's more homestyle vs commercialized. Can't beat southern hospitality at Jimmy's either! Everyone was so nice and hustled! Employees made sure our drinks were filled, dirty plates picked up, buckets emptied, and buffet area was clean. Crab legs were good. I like how they had a few different types. Crawfish were not very good and the lobster claws were kinda rubbery. The service was good. Server was professional and kept our drinks full. The reason for 3 stars is because it was freezing inside. I could barely get through 1 cluster of crab legs before they were ice cold. Other reviewers reported crowded tables, but ours was not; seated right by the kitchen entrance, our waiter was attentive and visited often. Wed. night is lobster tail night and has an upcharge for the buffet. Thursday was lobster tail special, but my buffet diners enjoyed a good variety of dishes. Wow, what an experience. We went to Jimmys on a weedday shortly after open and were seated immediately. The buffet was never empty and always fresh. I'll preface by saying on Saturday 8/9, we went to Captain George's, it was eh.... Shrimp were really soft ( gag), and the legs were overcooked. Took a gamble and went to jimmy's and was pleasantly surprised (went on a Wednesday (wild Wednesday)) and man it had great low key vibes, a smashing buffet with really good seafood. They had a vast assortment of crab legs.... And even deep fried soft shell crab. The servers were very attentive about cleaning up plates, and keeping drinks filled. First, the positive: - CRAB LEGS: On "Wild Wednesdays"there are over 10 different types + lobster tails and claws the night we visited and they were excellent and the only thing close to worth the wait! Sadly, the overwhelming negatives: - CROWD: They are packing so much humanity into this small space, it's to the point that you can barely move, much less visit the buffet area and not have the food elbowed off your plate. (Maybe a return visit in shoulder season would be better- if they're open.) - PLATES: I understand that buffets make more $$ if they give patrons smaller plates, but this place is serving crab clusters that extend so far beyond the diameter of one plate sandwich sized plate that it's ridiculous to manage. No chance you have room for a salad or side, and the crowds make it frustrating, if not impossible, to stop back to grab side items or even butter - WAITSTAFF: While our two waiters outside were friendly and attentive, there were two young women monitoring the back corner area of the buffets (on 7/16 at 5pm), who were essentially profiling and mocking guests as they passed (for appearances? clothing? accents? race? class? Likely all of the above!) I watched them as I stood in the long line twice. At one point, the one young woman (long dark hair) imitated a man's physical disability to her coworker (light purple t-shirt), whispering and laughing. I politely but directly asked her if she had something she wanted to ask, discuss with someone, or if I should speak to the manager. Of course she adamantly shook her head and at least kept quiet until I was out of view. It's 2025 and you're in the service industry- be better than that! This truly is a seafood buffet. Never had so many different type of crab claws! From Alaskan snow crab legs, Norwegian crab legs, king crab, stone crab claws, dungeness crab legs, the best perfectly fried oysters, and they even had lobster claws. We ate a ton! I didn't touch any other items in buffet (filler foods) except for the fried oysters and one rib (it was fall of the bone goodness) and my little girl enjoyed the fries, Mac n cheese, and the soft serve ice cream machine for dessert. Lots of different fried shrimps too. The price is $55 per adult and kids 12 and under pay their age x 2. My five year old was charged $10. If kids do partake eating seafood their price is $49. We drove 40 mins on a Wednesday. I did my research before and knew it was a $10 up charge (due to the surplus in crab legs choices and lobster) making it $65 a person. So the people who complain of the charge or surprise on Wednesday - should have looked up the place prior to visiting. The negative reviews based on the price, I believe is absurd. It's seafood and all you can eat! It's gonna be pricey and with good reason. Even at the up charged rate of $65 on Wednesday it was WELL worth it. My priority was crab legs. I tried all the crab leg varieties and liked the "deadliest catch" ones best, then the Alaskan crab. I had five tall plates full I definitely got my moneys worth. I also tried the clams, muscles and the clam chowder. All very good. We arrived 30 minutes after opening on "wild Wednesday" which I'm sure brings extra people due to the lobster and also there is a petting zoo which we did not see but didn't look for. But with that being said we were sat immediately and our server, Crew was awesome and emptied our buckets often and kept our drinks full. I got on the waitlist for first available for a party of two at 5:15, arrived at the restaurant at 5:35, and checked in with the hostess, who confirmed I was on the waitlist. I paid buffet price which is reasonable and ate shrimp, lobster, corn, potatoes, clams, muscles and soup. I did have a couple plates of crab legs. It was all great and we did the Yelp waitlist and though we arrived just 30 mins after opening it seemed the waitlist worked or we just got lucky and got right in. This restaurant has been around for more than 22 years. I walked in reminiscing of how 7 years had past since my last visit here. I didn't forget my last experience. It was memorable since the last time I was here I was pregnant. The outcome then was memorable, but morning sickness sucked the life out of me that time. It appears nothing much has changed except for my thoughts on the quality of food. I loved that I got a taste of the lobster they offered me. It was juicy and tasty. Everything is meant for the customers to serve themselves to the buffet options and taste the assortment of seafood, protein, side options, salad bar and desserts. There is a dinner option but I've never ordered off the menu. The alaskan snow crab legs were abundant but it was far from warm. They did do me a favor as I requested for newly, steamed crab legs, and they gave them to me just they way I liked them. Out of the seafoods, I enjoyed the florida stone crab legs. They were sweet but a pain to break open. I then settled for the crawfish. There website advertises that they would carry blue crab, seattle dungenous crabs and other fish. I assumed it was upon availability none the less. I'm a big sucker for blue crab. The space here is abundant and the people here are friendly. I wish the restrooms and the buffet bar could've been cleaner to my liking. I wasn't at all impressed with the presentation and the taste of the key lime pie I had tasted. We went on Wild Wednesday while in town for vacation. This is a no frills seafood buffet but well worth the try! Some of the biggest crab legs we've ever had! Very fresh and tasty. We had a party of 13 on a Friday night, thankfully I was able to get us on the waiting list on Yelp. We only had to wait outside for less than 10 minutes before they got us seated. They had a good selection of "kid friendly" food which was nice having 3 kids under 5 years old. They had plenty of seafood dishes but my favorite part where all the different types of crabs available to eat! Living so far away from an ocean it's usually $30+ for a pack of king crab legs but there you could eat as much as you wanted with a butter dipping station. I liked that they offered a variety of desserts: soft serve ice cream (cones/bowls), cookies, cheesecake, peanut-butter pie, and my personal favorite the key lime pie. My husband got food poisoning from this effing place on Wednesday 9/24/25. He was up all night - coming out of both ends. This is what happens when a place like this is purposely only open for a short 4 hours - haphazzardly pushing out an enormous amout of SEAFOOD that requires special cooking care to then squeezing in as many people as possibly in this very short window of time! Careless mistakes obviously happened and whatever he ate was not properly prepared. He said the crab he tried tasted fishy and immediately stopped eating it. Jimmy's also falsely advertised! It was NOT $55 per person all you can eat BUT $65! Since it was such a madehouse and we waited so long to get in and being on vacation we were like screw it and paid it. A very well known and established seafood buffet restaurant in this area. Not a fancy restaurant at all but not all run down either. The seating and tables seems to be really packed closer then I was comfortable with during Covid. Did I mention it was not fancy. But they do have nightly specials on their buffet selections. And I do have to say for such a smaller restaurant they do try to offer a large selection. And I do believe they have more selections than their competitors. The offerings were good for the prices. Had a great experience at Jimmy's. We went on their wild Wednesday and they sure do have A LOT of crab. They keep it hot and fresh. It was all very good.
