Great OBX experience for the whole family. Super fun and entertaining dinner. Great Food hot fresh…read morereasonable prices and prepared right before your eyes. The table fried rice was great had great flavor, great ingredients and was not greasy at all. For the proteins they were prepared and seasoned perfectly. We were a party of 8 people so we got to try a bunch of the hibachi offerings. Steaks were tender and delicious. The chicken was seasoned and flavorful not dried out. I am not a seafood eater but the shrimp smelled and looked awesome, the person that ordered it loved it. Pro tip 1 - if going for dinner especially with 4 or more people get there around 4-430 and wait in parking lot until they open the doors for dinner at 5. They don't take reservations so if you miss that window of opportunity you will be waiting for a while to be seated. Pro tip #2 get the if seated before 6pm coupon from the local tourist books it's 20% off each persons entree. Definitely saved us some $$$ The Chief was super engaging, talented, and very funny cracking jokes and full of great hibachi cooking moves. This was our first visit to Fuji and we will definitely be back next year during our OBX vacation!!!

I had the sense that Hokkaido is a chain, and this was confirmed. Nevertheless, we had a decent lunch. We are not ramen experts, and I am sure this is kind of like strip mall Chinese, acceptable unless you have been to Japan and can appreciate the difference. We shared Gyoza and Calamari. Both were good, but I particularly liked the Gyoza with thin wrappers, well flavored, gingery pork filling and a tart soy based dipping sauce. Then we shared a bowl of Shoyu Pork Ramen. The bowl was plenty for the two of us and they brought an extra bowl for sharing. I liked the melt-in-your-mouth chashu pork, the egg was salty and delicious. The other additions: bamboo, rubbery tree-ear mushrooms and Nori seaweed all made their own contribution to the bowl. The one I don't really get is the addition of sweet corn kernels. It really does not add value but does not spoil things. The broth was not as rich as I was expecting. It needed something. Ms T added some of the table soy to hers and that helped. We were both wishing that we had saved the unused dipping sauce because addition of the vinegary soy mixture would have livened things up. However, that may not be authentic. Since we were splitting, I had to forego a spicy version of ramen, but they do have it. I think Hokkaido adds something new and different to the strip between Kitty Hawk and Nags Head. This is not really Ms T's thing, but I think I can talk her into a return. I am probably overrating it a bit at four stars, but I enjoyed it and it is better than three stars.
