EPIC ADVENTURE! Captain Devon and Alex were amazing yesterday on our Turtle Canyon snorkeling adventure. They were very informative, accommodating and made our trip amazing and unforgettable. Our younger children 5 & 6 came on the excursion with us and they had a blast. They loved every minute of it and Captain Devon made the boat ride there and back super fun for them. Alex was amazing with helping everyone in the water and especially accommodating to our kids and making sure their gear was perfect the entire time. He pointed out different fish and turtles. We appreciated the small private group tour versus an entire boat filled with people. Alex and Captain Devon made every minute worth while. We took a turtle canyon snorkeling tour with Captain Max. Our skipper, Camila was amazing. She spotted a dolphin pod and took us near enough that the dolphins surrounded us and started playing around our boat. We got amazing pics, and she even sent us some videos she took from her phone. Savannah, our dive supervisor, took great care of us. She even did some badass free diving and brought up a sea urchin for us to touch. We saw a ton of turtles, and really enjoyed ourselves. Had the best experience with Captain Max and his crew! The boat was easy to find and we were allowed to bring our own snacks. The tour was small and intimate which is what we preferred over the bigger ones; Caroline, one of the staff members, actually swam and dove with us and pointed out fish and turtles. She also took GoPro pictures and videos of our group while we were underwater! We were also lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins. We took the trip with captain max and Ricky to turtle canyon with a friend of ours who was visiting from the mainland. I can't recommend max enough, they made us feel at home and this recommendation counts to experienced as well as beginner snorkeling levels. We saw 6+ turtles and felt safe the entire time. We rode out with Max and Devin, and had an awesome time out in the waters! We saw tons of turtles and the beautiful aquatic life in an area shared with other tours. As we rode back to the marina, we got lucky and saw a family of dolphins swimming along side the boat. I did prefer the smaller group experience and think 1.5 hours for snorkel is perfect, as any longer would be too tiring for people who don't do this often (aka tourists). They let us choose if we wanted a life jacket or another flotation device (noodle, belts) for those with more swim experience. If you like being more independent for this experience, I definitely recommend booking with Captain Max! The drinks provided were refreshing after the swim, all good vibes and good music!! Enjoyed our trip out to Turtle Canyon with Camila at the helm and Savannah as our snorkel guide. Both make you feel like you're welcome on board and they have great customer service skills. There were five customers on the boat and Savannah made sure we all had a great time in the water. We saw plenty of turtles and colorful fish and and held a sea urchin! Both ladies were taking photos on their personal cameras and sent them to us so we didn't even need to pull out our phones. If you are like our group of three that prefer small boat tours then this is worth every penny as compared to going on a boat with 50 plus. We are a party of 6. 4 adults and 2 kids. Everybody had a blast. Savannah and Camila were great, they were very accommodating and great with my kids. Savannah constantly checks in with my kids to see if they are ok and need assistance. Being that they bring only maximum 6 guest was perfect, we had the whole boat to ourselves and the experience is wonderful. Libbie and Gabriel were fantastic guides! The tour was wonderful- saw several sea turtles up close and personal - but safely and legally distanced! I loved that Gabriel was so passionate about us grabbing trash out of the ocean when we could. Beautiful fish - even a couple of puffer fish! Love the small group setting- especially after seeing the massive other tours. The very best part of the tour was that I made a friend for life on our tour- Melissa from Michigan and I became fast friends (even the same age!) and ended up biking back together to Waikiki and spending the day together while my poor husband was stuck in meetings. First- there are only 6 customers on the trip. You aren't jammed onto a boat. We all had plenty of space. Second- The boat is a flexible bottom boat that zips through the water. Not scary, just exhilarating. Third- we were given the clearest, most concise directions on how to snorkel that we've ever received. We had a first timer in our group and they were made to feel so comfortable. Four- Kayla was in the water with us directing us to turtles. If you like turtles, this is the trip for you. I highly recommend this amazing snorkeling tour if you are staying near Waikiki Beach!! I have to be honest I was nervous about booking this, as it just randomly came up on my FB feed, while visiting Hawaii. I ran their name through every search engine and found 5 star ratings all across the board. I thought maybe this was a hoax or too good to be true, but instead it ended up the highlight of our trip!! The 2 young ladies guiding us were so knowledgeable. It was our first time snorkeling (including my 15 and 11 year old) and they made us feel so comfortable in the water. The extra money spent on the videos and pictures of the whole experience was well worth it. They even made sure to include my older father in-law, who stayed on the boat. Had an amazing morning tour. Ended up just being myself and my girlfriend so we had a private tour. Devin and Alex were amazing and so informative about everything. We got to see dolphins and whales from the boat and saw countless sea turtles, including "Big Mama." I highly recommend this over a larger boat if you have a small group. So much more personal and a great experience with the crew. We left the dock at 7:30 and were back by 9:15. Perfect amount of time in the water. 5 out of 5 would definitely do it again! read more

Captain Max and his crew were a joy to be with. With only 6 people on the tour (excluding Max & crew), it made the experience so smooth and easy. They take you out on a boat that goes pretty fast! It was a thrilling ride especially if you sit in the very front. You will most likely get splashed when it's really windy lol. The snorkeling spot was truly a magical place. So many fish literally swimming with and around you. And yes! We did see turtles!!! At one point we even saw FIVE swimming together. It was amazing! Because our group was small, Captain Max and his crew said we had time to cruise closer towards Diamond Head. There, we were able to take breathtaking photos of the beautiful landscape. OMG! We had the best time this morning on our Turtle snorkeling adventure. We went early. The water was amazing clear. Spotted turtles before we ever got in the water. Got to swim around with 6-8 turtles, a million beautiful fish and even got to pet an octopus that our 1st mate Kyla found for us! Kids got to feed the fish. Captain Garett was great! Took a bunch of great photos for us and spotted some dolphins for us on the way back. Would we do it again? Yes! Would highly recommend. This was my favorite thing we have done on the island so far! Had a great time today with the Captain itself Max and Devin! The only boat crew I snorkel when I'm in Hawaii. Today. I saw some dolphins, Hawaiin grean sea turtles, Triggerfish and lots more. Size of the boat is perfect for me because I can get really close to dolphins when I see them (I don't touch them though). Max and his team has been accomodating, responds fast to any questions and he wasn't in a rush. He made sure everyone is happy before we went up on the boat. Totally worth it! You guys must try! Fantastic tour! We did the 4pm tour and saw TONS of turtles out there doing their thing. The small boat was so much fun to zip out to the reef in. Highly recommend this tour! Garret and Devon were knowledgeable and attentive. They made sure everyone's masks were perfect before hopping in and the loaner masks fit great (even for my partner who has a mustache). You have the option of a life vest or a pool noodle to go out and float as they guide you around the reef. This was our favorite thing we did while in Hawaii. So many turtles!!! Alex and his captain were absolutely fantastic! I was a little nervous at first about the blowup boat, but it is solid, and I had no problem with my arthritic knee getting in and out of the boat. Our hosts were extremely gracious, very polite, and super helpful. We had a really great time with them as a party of five in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary with her sons. I would highly recommend taking their tour as opposed to a big 40 person party tour -- it's just so much more intimately special!!
