Kate was our server, and was attentive and very sweet. We ordered the Canal Street combo, which is 2 boudin balls, 2 jalapeños poppers, and a bunch of fried pickle. All were great! Stopped in for a late dinner at Razzoo's Cajun Cafe. I started off with an order of fried pickle chips and the jambalaya pasta for my entree. Fried pickles didn't have a ton of flavor but were good. The jambalaya pasta was just ok. When it arrived it was kind of just luke warm. I should have went gumbo instead. My server was nice and friendly but very rushed. I'm sure I'll go back as this seemed to be an anomaly. read more

I got the order delivered and the order was good but the food wasn't all that great. The shrimp and the red beans and rise was good. Actually real good. The fries were ok. I had to season them myself. Do these people not know about cayenne? The catfish was a disaster. Two tiny pieces and they tasted like the way a wet dog smells. l do not like enjoy leaving a poor review, but I have to call them like I see them. Y'all wouldn't want me to hold back. Just as I want all y'all to give me the unvarnished truth. Went to the Razzoo's behind the McDonald's on SPID yesterday evening. I very much like Cajun cuisine so I wanted to give them a try in spite of the mixed reviews. I was particularly interested in the Cajun Fondue. For $13 I got a relatively small bowl of popcorn shrimp with way too little mystery cheese sauce (think boxed macaroni and cheese sauce) unlike the gooey stringy melted white cheese that one would expect in fondue. The 6 little peices of underspiced undertoasted garlic bread were underwhelming and when we asked for more they brought us 2 more very little pieces. Can you say, 'STINGY'? So that was a total loser. I am believer in well executed standard dishes being the proof of a restaurant's quality for a particular cuisine. So for another $8 plus, I got a cup of their gumbo, what they call Gumbouxx. It was just that... the equivalent of a regular coffee cup... small. Almost no liquid and overwhelmed by the size of the heap of white rice in the center, not what I was looking for. Maybe three tablespoons of quite fishy tasting seafood were included and no amount of the requested hot sauce would cover that fishy taste up. Another total loser. At this point, it was decided no more additions to the bill and no more of our time. The service was borderline acceptable, but then this restaurant on a Saturday night was over half empty with not a lot of hustle going on. The ambiance was ok.. nothing to write about. Considering the prices, $50 including tip for 3 very small barely acceptable appetizers, we decided that there are way way much better places to eat and we won't be returning. Chili's is less than a hundred yards away, they have their act together and the prices are reasonable. I would predict that unless Razzoo's can seriously up their game, they will not survive longer than the next year in the Corpus Christi market. read more

Food quality was good but once again service lacking sitting in the bar area without purchasing drinks. We enjoyed a complimentary starter thanks to the web offering. The cheese dip was excellent as was the garlic bread. My wife thought she was ordering something NOT so spicy but her stuffed shrimp were indeed bursting with heat. My jambalaya pasta was very good. Please bar staff come back and check on us at least once during our visit. We were also a bit annoyed at having to wait over 10 mins to cash out and leave. My wife and I ordered the Voodoo Shrimp to share. The portion size was small and the shrimp was very small. Plus the food was brought to our table room temperature. We complained to the waitress but no apology or bill adjustment. We told the hostess on the way out near the door and no apology as well. We entered the restaurant and there was no one at the host/hostess stand. We stood there for a couple minutes and that should've been the cue to leave. Someone did come out to show us to a table after another minute or two. We sat down and looked at the menu, and asked our server questions. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The server said to be careful because the dish was hot to touch. Unfortunately, the dish was the only thing that was temperature hot. The grits were barely lukewarm and shrimp in the dish were overcooked, overly spicy but like the grits not even lukewarm. My husband's food was mediocre at best. I was in town for a short stay and I ordered over the phone to pick up my dinner. I thought the prices for the food were reasonable. I ordered a Frozen Hurrycane Hell drink which was pretty good for a take away frozen beverage. I also had the boudin balls and I thought they needed something else to pick up the flavor. They were good, but I don't think I would order these again. I also had the combo skillet and I liked that it came with many different menu items. It was a lot of food for the money, as well. I thought this menu item was really good. My food was ready when I arrived, but the bartender handing me my order overlooked that I ordered the Hurrycane Hell and I had to remind her. She was only looking at the kitchen ticket with my order and probably should be looking at the receipt instead. My suggestion is to keep that in mind when you are picking up your order and make sure you don't leave something behind. read more

31JAN24 I love going to this restaurant with my girlfriend. It is our favorite place in corpus. Not too busy and the food is always perfect. Prices are very reasonable and affordable. 2-20 is a steal. Plenty of tvs for sports. They close at 9pm on Wednesdays. The servers are always nice and helpful. The place is very comfortable and inviting. It is clean everytime we visit. I recommend giving it a try :) read more

Drink arrived in a reasonable amount of time from the bar, Portion of drink was not good for the expensive price, place my food order at this time. The food was Delicious!!! I had the grilled oysters and it comes with garlic bread Absolutely Delicious, then I just added a side salad. My boyfriend got a Mahi dish with vegetables and A jalapeño catfish lunch dish with fries, He LOVED the Mahi ,veggies and fries the best, the only complaint he had about the catfish was that it was kind of soggy from the sauce, so I told him just to order the sauce on the side next time and dip it. Our waitress was Absolutely Phenomenal, so sweet and so much personality!! We will Definitely go back soon!!!! The staff was fantastic, very kind, attentive and prompt. Recommendations were good as well. Food was kinda cold, taste was a bit lacking. The overall flavors weren't really there, everything needed Tabasco or even just a bit more seasoning. I won't say it was bad, it wasn't bad, but, it just wasn't great. Absolutely horrible customer service. We order chicken fried steaks for delivery. When they arrived there was no gravy. Chicken fried steaks without gravy is not a chicken fried steak. Contacted them and were told we could come back and get it. If we wanted to drive that far we wouldn't have it delivered. They then offered a couple of dollars back. Twenty dollar meal ruined, no thanks. Lastly we were told to contact the delivery service. The restaurant made the mistake not the delivery service. Emailed corporate and got crickets. Average food. If you're looking for Cajun there are other places on town to go. I had catfish and shrimp and it was okay. The red beans and rice that came with was like refried beans and the coleslaw dressing was meh. My wife's shrimp and grits was not good. The shrimp was okay but we couldn't identify the mushy thing they called grits. It might as well have been mashed potatoes. Maybe they were reusing yesterday's batch but it was not grits. The sauce had a flour taste and was gritty. Plus it was all cold. Not the best shrimp and grits. I was suspect of a chain restaurant and this one is average. Other people may like it but I can cook better food. It was disappointing as we were wanting to give it a chance but frankly Popeye's is better Cajun and that's not saying much. Too bad because they seem to have a good concept for food they just can't deliver on taste. read more

They unfortunately missed the mark. To coin yourself as a Cajun restaurant, the gumbo at the very least should be outstanding. Chopped salad was very low quality, like out of a bag. Everything was just low quality basic and feels like theyre cheating out where they shouldn't like having salt and pepper on the tables. I ordered Shrimp creole, it was ok. Needed some spices for my taste. Hubby ordered the crawfish jambalaya, it was super bland, seriously needed at least salt. Gumbo was tepid but had good flavor. And then we totaled our order....really pricy for just ok food. We don't live in Corpus, this was a passing through stop. Would I stop here again, no. Easily my favorite restaurant in Corpus at the moment! The service was fantastic! The food was fantastic! The drinks were fantastic! I sat at the bar and everything was great about this place. There's not one single thing that you could get that's bad here. My fiancé and I shared a po boy because it was huge and came with alot of food. We recommend the stuffed crab jalapeños (if you like spicy) and even the gumbo was great. Everything had so much flavor. Trust me if you go and there's a wait....it is so worth it!
