If you like fresh seafood at a reasonable price, this is the place to be. I came here both in person and for carry out and both times the food was excellent. You can spend some money here, but it is worth it. You get a variety of classic seafood and in large portions. The service is quick too. I highly recommend the catfish and hush puppies. Obviously, the lobster tails are great too. Highly recommended if you like seafood.

First time at Captain Pell's and it was a easy and delightful experience. I've eaten at many seafood restaurants in search of a seafood boil. This was a fresh take where there was more focus on fresh seafood vs sauce. The customer service was excellent and the establishment was clean, much appreciated and will visit again!

Decided to try this place out as I was craving steamed crab and it was so good! For $54 you can get 12 medium crabs which are actually still pretty big. I got the fried oysters as an appetizer and it was juicy and crispy with cocktail sauce. Everything came out very quick and seasoned. They also offered butter to dip in and I asked for some more lemons which made it taste great! It was nice to have the mallet and knife supplied as well. My only critique is it would be nice if gloves were provided and a hand wipe for afterwards. Our waiter was really nice and this is definitely more of a casual dine in place where you just wave down servers when needed. The inside is very spacious and there is music and TVs around for entertainment. I'll have to come back to try the jumbo size!

Cream of crab soup ? Watery hardly any crab not my favorite it was also watery and not thick like a traditional cream of crab soup. The crabs and crab specials ? 110% worth it the price is great and the crabs are delicious. They have a variety of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks to choose from. They have indoor and outdoor seating the place is great for families , dates and a solo trip. The service was quick everyone was willing to help and check in on you. The shrimp was good perfect in every way and the hushpuppies were also pretty good !

I came here for a pre-birthday dinner on June 7th as my fiancé was about to have surgery and wouldn't be able to walk for weeks. I have heard about this place number of times over the decade but finally bit the bulled to try it as I have been on a huge seafood kick lately. Once we arrived we were greeted immediately when walking through the door by the takeout specialist. The host quickly grabbed menus and walked us to an available table. Our waiter came by shortly after to get drink selections and offer suggestions. While I was slightly disappointed ( the reason for 4 out of 5 stars) they did not offer a full bar as I am not a huge beer or wine drinker. Now for the food, quickly order the crab dip, fried oysters, and fried shrimp for starters. And WOW, the fried oysters were amazing and breaded beautifully without being to much and the crab dip was so meaty (see picture) it was a shocker as I have never had it like that before. We both decided on the pick 3 and got the softshell crab. crab cake, and fried catfish. An baby! When i tell you they tasted amazing it is not an understatement. The crab cake even though on the smaller side was pure lump meat! The softshell crab was flavorful again without being over breaded. Where out table was we could see in the kitchen and just watching the ladies and gentleman move around the big containers they use to boil the crab legs was fun. However, I think the funniest thing was watching them pour the butter on the food and for the dipping as they put butter inside of a coffee pot to melt it and use for easy pour. I have never though about that! That was so forward thinking dont know why others dont do it instead of using a crockpot or other device. Overall, we will definitely be back it seems a lot of people do the all you can eat blue crab as that is what everyone in the dinning room was eating. But their menu is definitely large for the rest of us that dont want to go through all that :-)

In the last month I've dined in here once and gotten carryout twice. I'm in Arlington so there are more local options but Captain Pells is my favorite. Our order has been mostly the same - extra large crabs, hush puppies, crab dip, shrimp. Crabs have been meaty and cooked perfectly, 2-3 crabs (with sides) fills me up. The hush puppies here are the best I've had and the CRAB DIP do not sleep on it. Big chunks of lump crab in it. I've also had a very pleasant service experience. Last time I did carryout I got notified that my order was ready a good bit before pickup time and i called and they fixed it no problem. We didn't drink when we dined in but I also noticed very reasonable drink prices, which you just never see.

Always a nice experience here! We ordered our crabs steamed but no salt and they always compliant with it. The place deff always smells like crab but thats a given! They have two levels so plenty of room for a small or a big party. Crabs are always fresh. We always expect to spends more than $200 here. Service is fairly quick and staff is always so friendly. They have their own parking in front so parking are fairly easy. Would always recommend this place for a family dinner night out.

The answer is ... nowhere but California Fish Grill! Their menu is super varied so it is one of the few fast casual places that our entire family can enjoy. Parking can be tight at this plaza. Active construction and lots of 10 minute spaces be sure to read the signs and park where appropriate. Crab boil bags is what led us here! We browsed the menu before hand and they had me at custom! We were not limited to preselected items! And you can get boils with smaller amounts 1/2 pounds which you don't find at many crab boil places. Perfect for those who can't eat much or smaller appetite even as leftovers. I decided on the half pound headless shrimp, crab legs (my favorite!) and a lobster tail! We also got a bigger boil with a pound of head on shrimp, king crab legs, pound of scallops and some BBQ wings on the side. We tried the combo sauce "Crazy special" a mix of Cajun, garlic, and lemon pepper. Boils come with corn, potatoes, and sausage! There was so much food!!!! The wings came out hot, saucy, and still crispy with some house ranch on the side. Then came the boils. Just look at them!!!!!!! The seafood with fresh with actual garlic, fresh parsley, and saucy. Sauce was buttery, garlic was plentiful, good lemon pepper taste. Cajun was present but not strong. But the buttery goodness pooled at the bottom of our pans. Perfect for ensuring all bites were saucy bites. Rez stopped by to make sure we were good during our meal. We received snow crab instead of King on our big boil. Rez acknowledged the mistake and immediately made it right, no fuss, no making us feel bad, not even taking the incorrect legs back. Just phenomenal service and showing care for his customers. It was a meal well enjoyed in a good atmosphere. We saw several groups and families dining while we were there. Its a place you feel welcome, not rushed, and want to visit again! And we will! Of course we couldn't finish! And wrapped up leftovers to go! Also there's an all you can eat special $59.99/person. Definitely worth it for those who can put away some seafood! And last thing- there's a hand washing station outside of the at back of restaurant prior to restroom area so you can freshen before and after eating and not need to go inside the restroom. Thank you for this!!!!!

Very attentive and "Johnny on the Spot" even though he was handling several tables. 5 stars for him! Next... The food. I ordered the Crabcake Benedict and my daughter and my friend both had Steak Benedict. We all agreed that the poached eggs were cooked perfectly, the hollandaise sauce was excellent and the potatoes were served hot and tasted great. I was the only one drinking alcohol and had the spiked cherry mimosa. Started our really tart.... Ended? Well... I drank 4 of them! LOL! 'Nuff said! I did not find out until after we left the restaurant that both my daughter and my friend felt like their steaks were bit overcooked, but to the restaurants defense, neither one of them told our waiter what temperature they would like to have it cook to and so I, and they, agreed that they both had enough experience eating in steakhouses to know to ask a steak to be cooked to whatever temperature they preferred. So this is not on anybody except them. I would ask the restaurant in the future to instruct their wait staff to ask anyone ordering steak, regardless of size, what they're preferred temperature is. That being said they said that the flavor of their steak was still excellent! It was my first time here and will certainly not be the last! I am a very, very picky eater and this is one of the best meals that I've enjoyed top to bottom in a long time!

Parking lot isn't super big but we were able to get a spot. We got seated immediately. Restaurant had a nice classic look inside but the tables were a little too close together. We tried the Pan Seared Sea Bass and the Seafood Cioppino as well as the Calamari to start. Unfortunately they did not have the ribs despite its coming at the start of dinner. The Sea Bass was cooked well but not much seasoning, mostly the lemon sauce. We were told the Seafood Cioppino was spicy but there really not much spice at all. The Calamari was solid though. The vibe of the restaurant seemed more business so might have not been the right choice for a birthday dinner. No one acknowledged or asked about special occasions (I don't care since it was for me, I didn't make the reservation). The food was ok but I'm not sure I'll be dying to come back.
