I love that you can either drive up or pull in by boat to this floating restaurant, such a cool experience being right on the water at Lake Travis. There is a bit of a walk from the parking area, but they do have ramps along the way. We ended up being the only ones there, so the service was absolutely fabulous, attentive without being overbearing. The food was surprisingly really good, too. There's just something about sitting on Lake Travis, enjoying a cold beer and lunch, that makes the whole experience feel like a little escape. Austin Yelp Elite All-Star approved

Love coming here for a peaceful afternoon for a beautiful view and a yummy snack. Service is always fun and great, definitely a go to place when in the area.

We were greeting as soon as we walked in. Led to a table with a spectacular view. The restaurant floats on Lake Travis a marvelous design, Drinks and appetizers were out quickly. Our server was polite and responsive. We started with the bang bang shrimp which really good. Entrees were hot and delicious as well.

Lots of great parking... but a little bit of a walk (an adventure) to get to the floating restaurant out at sea... Cool Vibe... had a late lunch there and really enjoyed ourselves. It was mid-August.... in central Texas...It's hot... and the large patio garage doors are open... We foolishly chose to eat INSIDE. Rookie move! Afterwards we walked outside in the covered but open seating outside...WOW... what a nice breeze. Like 10-15 degrees cooler. Inside...a nice 90 degree. Live and Learn! The food was great. Fried Catfish was amazing....even if the breading kind of fell off... BOGO Burger deals are awesome (summer of 2026) and burgers were good too. AMAZING French Fries... not skimpy...not overcooked. Still tasted like a good potato!!! Salted PERFECTLY! Very good service too!

It's a perfect night to watch the sunset at Captain Pete's Boathouse. Called around to check on a place to sit outside and watch the sunset. No wait at Captain Pete's Boathouse. Perfect. The Yelp map is great! Drive and then park near the floating boardwalk that takes you to the boathouse. Or dock your boat to enjoy a meal. Got there as the sun was setting. Loved watching the fall sky change colors. Like Mother Nature creating a beautiful painting. Zachary, our waiter, was so fun. Took our order and then took us to feed the catfish (which we did not eat). The catfish can freely swim but love to hang out with their mouth open waiting to enjoy some leftovers. They've been conditioned to beg for food like very hungry, eager puppies. For dinner, we had blackened salmon. The blackened salmon plate comes with fries, cole slaw and the yummiest hush puppies. My blackened salmon salad had lots of my favorites. Blackened salmon over a bed of mixed greens with cucumbers, mandarin oranges, carrots, feta and toasted almonds. Vinaigrette on the side. So good. If you have a pampered pooch, this is the place to go on the lake. The family next to us ordered a burger, sans the bun, and fries for their fur-ever baby. They even brought a silver dog bowl for their pup to enjoy a meal at the lake. Adorable! Such a relaxing meal at Lake Travis. Ask for Zachary if you find yourself in the neighborhood.

I hate restaurants that charge a credit card fee on top of their bill - It may have been disclosed on the menu (I'm not sure) but I'm already there and now the bill comes with a 3% fee. In any regard, this is not affect my restaurant rating. Food is average and service is average (server comes by when he can, and was very personable but a bit forgetful) - seem to be a bit short on servers. We were quickly seated and food came out quickly. Fried pickles were great - hot and spicy, fries were cold in the basket, and shrip tacos were OK. A great place to visit in the afternoon especially now that Lake Travis is up to 675 feet. Nice breeze, excellent view. I will definitely be back on nice days.

Had a fantastic experience at Captain Pete's Boathouse Floating Restaurant and Fuel Dock! The frozen margaritas were perfect, and the food was outstanding. We had the Boathouse Burger, fried shrimp basket, French fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw -- everything was excellent. My wife said the burger was the best she's ever had, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The tartar sauce was absolutely awesome and tied everything together. We also grabbed a slice of the homemade carrot cake to go, and wow... it was so, so good. Great food, great atmosphere, great service and definitely a place we'll be back to!

I imagine most patrons arrive by boat...but you can get there by car...and the walk down AND up is a bit of an adventure from the parking lot. We ordered the peel and eat cajun shrimp, very tasty with our cocktails, texas flip flop and classic marg. The best part was that the shrimp shells get dumped overboard for the fish that hang out under the floating dock. My capt pete jerk chicken and companion's catfish basket were enjoyable. Nicely seasoned fries too.

The food tasted great! Amazing service!! The fried pickles were amazing. All the staff were very friendly and kind! Our sever, Guy is the MAN! Very attentive and friendly. Great view of the sunset too!

We wanted pretty views (which, of course, we got), decent food, and a drink after being so disappointed by the couple of restaurants at The Oasis area. What we were met with exceeded our hopes. First, service. Boon was our server and we loved him. He was upbeat and friendly, got us everything we asked for, and great at upselling drinks without being pushy. The boy who sat us and was bussing tables was sweet as well. Second, food and drink. The jerk chicken plate was enough food to have leftovers and full of flavor. My husband got the chicken and waffles and the chicken was fried to absolute perfection. They also included a honey cinnamon butter that would put roadhouse to shame. The Mexican martini was yummy and strong. Lastly, ambiance. The place is a dive, but not in a bad way. In a comforting way. Did I see a guy not wearing shoes? Allegedly! I didn't even care because the vibes were good. Everyone was as easy going as the alternative rock pumping from a radio speaker in the corner. This was the kind of place I'd love to be a regular at. Beautiful, chill, friendly, affordable. I will be coming back.

I entered the restaurant and I was seated immediately through the host it was rather warm inside because it was a very hot day. I was seated and started to look through the menu. So the first thing I ordered was the basic Margarita on the rocks with salt around the rim. First entry was the regular Hamburger with cheese which in fact had a side of coleslaw which I ordered as a side dish. The hamburger itself had plenty of onions and just pickles tomatoes which was pretty large and the price was perfect this is what I loved about this place the prices are awesome. Today they had the all you can eat catfish. Who wouldn't want that the only problem is .. I was craving a 'hamburger and I also ordered a side dish, which was a Chicken Fried tenders with French fries I ordered the smaller version the child's plate and if you have children I totally recommend this cool, restaurant. Service was wonderful the waitress was very kind and always stop by my table was very attentive that was a major plus. They also had a new waiter who missed the mark never looked at my table because he was taking on the section. So I had to wave him down quite a few times just so he can give me some attention especially napkins they forgotten napkins when they serve me my dessert which was the bread pudding and ice cream it was absolutely delicious, really have to try this place because it is a very good restaurant number one " it is a little more pricey, than most because it's by the lake I assume you're paying for that and the views. The drinks were" okay I really wasn't thinking that my 'Margarita was anything but a Margarita and nothing special. But overall I really enjoyed my dinner here and people are very nice but because it's on the lake and we've had a high heat index here by the lake the restaurant is very warm. Next time I come back I hope the weather will be better and not too hot. So happy yelping I hope this review helps a lot of you who love to have dinner or even breakfast they even have breakfast here. I saw that on the menu I have to try that one of these days.I will be returning possibly the next 2 weeks so that I will be able to try the brunch or the other menu items.

My vodka martini and glass of Chardonnay were great, the Chenin Blanc by the glass was also worth ordering. We loved the wood grilled oysters in a zingy citrus and spice sauce. They were a thrill to the tongue and you got the perfect amount of smokiness. The blue cheese wedge was so good. I wouldn't mind a less salty bacon, but it was still so good that I made it all go away. I loved how the tomatoes and cucumbers tasted like they'd been individually tossed in good olive oil and lemon even though the wedge had a classic creamy blue cheese dressing. Shore's chef is really bringing all the flavor to the dish components. The whole fried red snapper in mojo de ajo was glorious. We split a two pound version between the three of us and that was just right. The snapper was fresh, tender, and tasty, and it was served with components of pico, cabbage, delicious black beans, very good rice, tortillas... I recommend Shore!

The website mentioned reservations but accepting walk-ins also; my wife made a reservation for 8 at 7:40p, and that turned out well, as the couple in front of us hadn't done so & went out front to wait. We had a very attentive waitress, & sat on a raised stage by the window which was cool, but note: tall chairs there maybe not great for short legs. When she poured our water we didn't have to request, she left the carafe, which I supposed was a labor saving idea --until she came back repeatedly and refilled our glasses with it! It aided our date night that the two flat screens had artworks displayed not a basketball game or Chive videos of folks getting injured for 15 seconds of fame. Menu is in the upper middle price range for us but we did an easy work-around to get some upscale food, anyway:: We ordered a bowl of gumbo from the appetizer list, with two spoons; (yeah, been married 41 years)... Arrived perfect temp, not to hot to dig right in. The 6 crab claws broken to expose the meat were a nice touch we've never seen; we try everyone's gumbo: prolly the best we've had recently if ever. Continuing that theme, we shared the 14 oz Japanese style (name recipes me) new horn strip, truly too much for one normal appetite: the already flavorful tender steak was helped even more by a unique brown sauce with capers: and my Dad said a good steak doesn't NEED any help. Well, this steak was so good let's just say "the sauce was gravy." We like Brussels sprouts broiled; so my wife asked when ordering the steak, which comes with creamed sprouts, if they could be broiled: instead our waitress asked the chefs who actually flash fried them with salt and pepper, perfectly, with crunchy outer leaves & al dent inside. My wife ordered a 14.00 glass of Pinot noir; the cool wine glass was a generous size --and filled generously. We like the pretentious wine descriptions from the backs of bottles; bartender let us take a photo of the label but suggested the "vivino" app to get the lowdown on any wine. Finished off sharing the bread pudding with rum soaked yellow raisins, great flavor without excess sweetness, and thanked our waitress Katy.

That waffle though....love! My husband ordered the migas. Now, being that we are from San Antonio, TX we are used to some of the BEST Mexican breakfast food around. So if course we're a little biased. But they were decent.
