Even though they came in quite a bit higher I took the recommendation and that was my mistake. The overall experience was horrible and you should avoid. Delayed schedules, horrible communication, contractors showing up when they weren't supposed to and entering my yard unannounced, rummaging through stuff in my yard, re-installing things in the wrong places..I could go on and on. 4.14.25 Update After reviewing many posts from 2022 to now, it is clear that this company has suffered some decline in their work ethic. The responses from the owner shows the integrity and honesty of the company and those in command in my opinion. I actually had a separate inspector come out who confirmed in writing that the pool was not caused by external damage as the manager claimed in his rebuttal. I also had 2 separate Pool companies come out and provide a quote and inspection of the pool itself. All 3 have reported this was due to the initial pool build. Lucas from Captain Pools sent out his own worker who reported it was the pool deck causing the pebble tec to crack. If the pool deck was an issue, then as the pool expert, they should have discussed this with us at the initial build. I am not a pool expert and relied on their expertise which failed. According to their invoice receipts they simply stapled the problem areas in the concrete behind the pebble tec instead of properly securing the area as stated by another pool company. I now have 2 cracks in the pebble tec and have brought this to the attention of the Captain Pool since 2022. At that time, they claimed it was the tiles that needed to be replaced. We are now faced with having to do another complete remodel of the pool due to their lack of due diligence and inspection in my opinion. What should have cost us about $15k will not cost us double that because Captain Pools failed the first time. For those that have suffered the same or similar grievances from Captain Pools, it might be worth contacting the Arizona Registrar of Contractors to file a complaint. UPDATE October 2024 The pool company came out to look at the crack which they said was superficial. Their offer was to patch up the crack at a cost of about $350. Given the quality of the work initially (and frustration that followed), current crack and the amount of money I've already paid them, I still would not recommend this company for a pool remodel. If you do, check their warranty offer just in case. Original post- build in 2021/2022 Do not use this company! We paid over $10k to remodel our pool. The person sent out did shady work and didn't properly fix the issues. They sent another worker who verified that the initial person has messed up multiple peoples pools. After moving to Arizona in January we've had a lot of housing projects to complete. The previous owner painted our pool himself and it was in bad shape. I had some work that was needed for my the tech came out to fix it. But my vacuum was still not working they came and additional 2 more times just to tell me there was a rock stuck however my vacuum still hasn't moved. When I complained about vacuum still not working and that they over drained my pool with out communicating or letting me know to fill it. I got a response from Jen that was rude and left a bad taste in my mouth. When I expressed my concerns with Jen she asked if I had an actual question or concern. That I just needed to fill up my pool that was below tile line. She kept repeating what I already knew that I had an issue with vacuum still which was the whole reason why I was reaching out to begin with. I asked for the owner or managers number/email and haven't heard back from her. She responded to my email the first time with out providing it, then i just asked for info. Again and have yet to get any response. I would just like to talk to someone that can actually help me out. I had an issue with vacuum months ago it took several techs, me taking it to pool store because it's still under warranty just for the last guy to come and just turn a switch. I will not make a payment until my issue is fixed I told Jen I would not longer be using you guys but I had a pool cleaner show up today. I emailed saying I thought this was done then asked if tech came out. *email proof uploded I was told tech would come out again then received a response that is also *uploaded saying tech found issue and it was fixed. Next day I noticed that it wasnt moving, following day i sent an email with picture *uploaded saying that it has not moved. did not recive a response.... had a tech come out supposedly come out again. I took it too pool store. then Monday came and my favorite "Kid" came out to do what he does and over drained my pool. Which I understand backwash needs to get drained but i uploaded picture of how low it was and just letting me know that was going to be done would have been nice. running out of space to type so just review the rest of emails to how my issue was handled. a similar issue happened before with vacuum and too and it took 2 different techs 1 pool kid before third came and turned a nob and made it run. I decided to go with them last month and it has been the best decision yet. My previous pool cleaning company came every week for no more than two minutes and left. The pool had accumulated dirt on the bottom and regardless how many times I asked them to clean it up they never would. They don't take safety or your needs into account. I have 4 dogs, they have left my gate open, gone into the yard with out giving me the notice i requested on multiple occasions. When I have called and reminded them that they need to text when they are on the way it goes ignored I get a rude reception. I have a salt pool and they don't seem to have any experience with this because they keep adding chlorine and no salt. read more

UPDATE: After getting quotes from several other pool maintenance companies, it has been confirmed that Captain Pools completely dropped the ball on our pool. It's been less than 12 months since our pool was emptied, cleaned, and refilled (by Captain Pools, and serviced weekly from them since that date), but the chemical readings in our pool is off the charts - it's so bad that it can't be treated back into something safe. Original 3 Star review: We've used Captain Pools since we moved to this house nearly 2 years ago, and things have usually been 4-5 stars with them. Until a month ago, our only complaint was that the tech (one of the younger techs on staff) couldn't figure out how to adjust our old pump to avoid us paying high electricity premiums when he'd leave the pump running after a cleaning. This is a 3 instead of anything lower because maybe they are just overwhelmed right now, but communication has been absolutely terrible the last few weeks. About a month ago we asked for a quote on solar-heating, and for someone to check out a noisy pump and what looked like a lower-than-usual water level. I was a little surprised that the tech wouldn't inform us of those needed repairs, but whatever. The said the repair tech would come look at it, but due to a "scheduling difficulty" he didn't show up. We called back, there was a scramble to get him to see us, and he turned off the power to the unit without telling us anything. We had to call to find out that the unit was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. They did replace the pump VERY quickly (after we finally got the quote to approve), which was much appreciated. It's a shame the older, now unneeded pieces couldn't be removed as part of that effort, but at least we've got a working pump. Then to the auto-refill valve. Again, several attempts were needed to get someone to look at it (the repair tech didn't feel like doing anything about it the first time?), and when someone finally did come they turned off the supply valve. The next week the cleaning tech included "low water level" in his report, which floored us. No kidding! Someone help us fix this!! We emailed this time, were told someone was planning to come, and still haven't heard anything. We had a chance we did our own troubleshooting, turned that supply back on, and have now cancelled service. We also never heard about the solar-pool-heater quote we asked about 3-4 times throughout our many pump and water-level emails, calls, and texts. And according to the potential new pool service I met this afternoon, our chemical levels are crazy high considering our pool was last cleaned 3 days ago. read more

Do Not Hire this company!!! They are racist!! We had there service for over two months. They have problem with being on time, and the pool looks worse then when we were doing the pool ourselves. They sent me an email to cancel their services due to COVID and said the price they were charging doesn't meet the demands, but are still coming out to service my White neighbors. Its has been nothing but a hassle. Some days they showed up and some days they didn't. I was always current and paid in full, and I have reached out to the owner several times to get clarification on the email, and have yet to receive a respond.
