Yeah it's alright in a pinch, I guess. No hate, just not planning on returning. Not to be mean, but this was a bland experience. Except for the broiled catfish. That wasn't bland, but it was extremely heavy on the pepper. FYI, lemon juice helps that a lot. Hope you like lemon juice. The service was nice and it was roomy enough. The gentleman bussing tables did one heck of a job. The meal didn't take too long to come out and it seems they cater to seniors, which is a big win with me. In my world, older folks should be taken good care of. A.

One of my coworkers recommended this restaurant a while back and we had a taste for seafood so we decided to go since we were in the area. The restaurant is spacious with tables and booths, and has a nautical and aquatic theme throughout the business. We arrived during lunch hours and there was a good amount of people dining in but we didn't have to wait for a table. Our server, TJ was helpful and personable. He took our drink orders and brought over a basket of complimentary hush puppies and butter. They were warm and tasted good. The restaurant has daily specials. I decided to order the grilled mahi mahi fish special. The meal comes with two sides. I wanted a salad but it isn't included in the sides so there was $3.50 up charge to add it to my meal. I got the house salad with French dressing, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, croutons, and greens. I didn't get the onions on my salad. The salad was really good and a nice size for a side salad. I chose to have my mahi mahi blackened and chose fries as my second side. The fish was good but the fries were over cooked. Once brought to TJ's attention he brought out more quickly. I would return and try more menu items.

I just ate at Captain Stanley's for the first time, but I hope it won't be the last. The decor isn't fancy; about what you'd expect from a seafood joint at the shore. My Calabash-style fried entree was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. My only complaint was that they don't seem to post their menu online. (Okay, I'm funny that way - when I go to a new restaurant I like to scope out my options ahead of time.)

New management. Food is cold and mushy when brought to table. Service was slow. I would go somewhere else.

Not sure why the good reviews. Staff was rude. Scallops were horrible; way over cooked. Catfish was burned. Only thing good was salad.

We were only in Raleigh for a short family trip and wanted one memorable dinner. After reading the…read morereviews, we decided on The Crunkleton--and it exceeded our expectations. We arrived on a busy Sunday evening without a reservation and were told the wait would be about 40 minutes. Instead of simply putting us on a list, Alfredia, the host, immediately made us feel welcome. She even offered me a cup of ice water after noticing we'd walked over in the summer heat. A few minutes later, she found a way to get our family seated much sooner than expected. That small act of kindness set the tone for the entire evening. Our server, Toni, was exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic, he guided us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations. Every suggestion was spot-on, and it was obvious he knew the menu well. The food was outstanding. The Duck Flautas were a great start. The She-Crab Soup was rich and flavorful. The Wagyu Burger with caramelized onions, truffle aioli on brioche was excellent--my son says it's the best burger he's ever had. The Mediterranean Chicken Piccata was beautifully prepared with confit fingerling potatoes, charred asparagus, goat cheese, sun-dried tomato tapenade, and piccata sauce. We were so busy enjoying dinner that we completely forgot to take photos until dessert--which probably says everything. The Beignets with cold brew icing were excellent, and the warm Brownie with salted caramel ice cream was the perfect ending to the meal. What also impressed us was that Chef Jonathan stopped by our table to check on our meal, and Ravin, the General Manager, took time to welcome us personally and make sure everything about our visit was going well. We never felt rushed. Great food may bring people through the door. Great hospitality is what brings them back. The Crunkleton gave our family one of those dinners we'll remember long after the trip is over. The atmosphere is stylish without feeling pretentious, the service is genuinely warm, and it's clear that everyone there takes pride in what they do. If you're visiting Raleigh--or if you're fortunate enough to live there--I would absolutely recommend giving The Crunkleton a try. We left talking not only about how much we enjoyed the meal, but also about the people who made the evening special. Thank you to Alfredia, Toni, Chef Jonathan, Ravin, and everyone behind the scenes for making a simple family dinner into such a memorable experience. We absolutely will be back.

It does tend to get busy, so you may have a little wait for your food, but it's definitely worth it. The shrimp Rasta pasta was creamy, flavorful, and had the perfect amount of spice, plus they give a generous portion of shrimp. We sat outside this day, as the weather was mild and there wasn't any available seats inside. We ordered a fried combo and a grilled combo. TrySeafood does a lot of things right. Portion size was fairly generous. We especially love the fact they serve cleaned jumbo shrimp. Food was cooked well, shrimp was tender as was scallops. The broccoli was not tender crisp nor mushy. The potatoes and corn were delicious. While service was friendly, it was a bit slow. Also, I'm not an Old Bay fan. The grilled shrimp were seasoned with Old Bay. While the fish was crispy, I prefer a cornmeal dredge to a flour dredge. Finally, (and this could have been a me thing) the tip percentage on the screen doesn't align with the math. I intended to tip 15% - which is standard especially considering slow service. That should have been approx $8 and when I got home I realized it was approximately $16. You're not given a printed receipt and if you're in a rush and going through the process quickly it's easy to miss. Again I may have missed something, but I'm pretty sure I selected the %15 option. Additionally, I've seen other restaurants that have intentionally include this practice. Would I go again, sure. I'd request a different seasoning blend or a light seasoning and check that math! 800TH Review! This place is a MUST! Read the reviews before ordering, because it will help! I…read moredropped in here recently because the reviews seemed decent. Parking in the deck is right around the corner. It was not really busy when I stopped in and I grabbed a seat at the really long bar (I was the only person at the bar). I was a little upset at the wait time for the bartender to get to me but 5 stars because I understand why now. Cozy, laid back atmosphere daring to be romantic or casual. First off, the Pizzaiolo Speziato is a must. A regular had recommended it in their review and they were on point! It's got a sweet fire to it and goes down smoothly. It was amazing! I had a glass of Saint Clair Sauvignon Blanc with it, which had a similar bite like Kim Crawford. I then ordered a specialty drink, and this was another homerun. It took the bartender a minute to make it, so I then understood why she was busy with these other specialty drinks. It was the Testarossa, and the flavors popped on it. The Malbec float was subtle enough to not ruin the show but enough to raise your eyebrows, put a pinky to your mouth and murmur "hmmmm ... yaaasss". Let's get to the dang cheesecake. Showstopper, pants dropper! Nonna's cheesecake will have you screaming "Mama Mia" while silently mumbling to yourself "mmmm hmmmm". Biscoff cookie crust, lord help me, BISCOFF COOKIE CRUST! Faq... I would never share this with my girlfriend. She'd have to get her own. Banger of a meal and drinks. Best overall meal I've had in some time. This is a MUST stop if you are in the area!!

The first visit I ordered the short rib and while the flavor was good it sadly wasn't the most tender. But on my second visit I went for the filet and it was perfffectly cooked and I loved it with the risotto! (minus the sundried tomatoes, but that's personal preference!) We typically just look for free parking a few blocks away but learned on our second visit that they do validate parking at the nearby deck, so good to know!
