This is a very elegant and tasteful Italian option in downtown Raleigh. I recently visited this restaurant on my trip while home shopping in NC. The atmosphere is modern and floor plan is very open, it's beautiful for sure. We enjoyed all of their delicious appetizers and entrees on our date night ! Their cocktail selection was appealing while their beer and wine menu had nice options and we definitely enjoyed every sip. We love Pierro's! Have been twice so far and were very happy with our meal after both visits. The ravioli fritti to start is a must. The first visit I ordered the short rib and while the flavor was good it sadly wasn't the most tender. But on my second visit I went for the filet and it was perfffectly cooked and I loved it with the risotto! (minus the sundried tomatoes, but that's personal preference!) We typically just look for free parking a few blocks away but learned on our second visit that they do validate parking at the nearby deck, so good to know! read more

800TH Review! This place is a MUST! Read the reviews before ordering, because it will help! I dropped in here recently because the reviews seemed decent. Parking in the deck is right around the corner. It was not really busy when I stopped in and I grabbed a seat at the really long bar (I was the only person at the bar). I was a little upset at the wait time for the bartender to get to me but 5 stars because I understand why now. Cozy, laid back atmosphere daring to be romantic or casual. First off, the Pizzaiolo Speziato is a must. A regular had recommended it in their review and they were on point! It's got a sweet fire to it and goes down smoothly. It was amazing! I had a glass of Saint Clair Sauvignon Blanc with it, which had a similar bite like Kim Crawford. I then ordered a specialty drink, and this was another homerun. It took the bartender a minute to make it, so I then understood why she was busy with these other specialty drinks. It was the Testarossa, and the flavors popped on it. The Malbec float was subtle enough to not ruin the show but enough to raise your eyebrows, put a pinky to your mouth and murmur "hmmmm ... yaaasss". Let's get to the dang cheesecake. Showstopper, pants dropper! Nonna's cheesecake will have you screaming "Mama Mia" while silently mumbling to yourself "mmmm hmmmm". Biscoff cookie crust, lord help me, BISCOFF COOKIE CRUST! Faq... My husband ordered the Chicken Francese, requested no mushrooms, and also substituted the homemade tagliatelle. His entrée was outstanding, with a delicate, flavorful sauce that paired beautifully with the fresh pasta & chicken. To top off the evening, they surprised me with a complimentary birthday zeppole that was warm, light, and absolutely delicious (w/caramel sauce) --a thoughtful touch that made the celebration even more special. I was excited to try Pierro's however my excitement changed as the visit went on. Pierro's is located downtown Raleigh. I was able to find street parking near the busienss. The restaurant had nice decor, a bar, and several tables to dine in. When I arrived another patron was waiting to be seated. Eventually the server came & sat her at a table and then went to take orders from a table. When he noticed that I was still standing there he came & seated me directly next to the previous patron. The tables are very close to one another and there was plenty of room to seat us in another table with a little more privacy & space since the restaurant wasn't packed. The server came over and took our drink orders later. We then placed our food orders and then a while later, the server said that he didn't know what happened & our appetizers did not get put in. A while later, my fried ravioli was brought out. It was served hot with marinara sauce. I asked for a box for the remainer of my ravioli and he only put the ravioli in my box. I asked for a side of marinara & he brought it out. We decided on the braised ribs for our entree. My meal came with asparagus & risotto. Our ribs were tender inside but scorched outside and they were bland. The asparagus wasn't bad. The risotto was ok. I've definitely had better. Our service was very slow throughout our visit. There was only one server working the entire restaurant. He was not friendly or personable and very direct. Many times that we asked our server a question or for something he seemed to have an attitude. My fiance and I came here to get some tasty bites for our Italian craving. The vibes were very moody and dim. For appetizer, we got the Fritto Misto which was delicious! You can never go wrong with fried seafood. For entree, I got the Pesto Gnocchi. It was soupier than I thought it would be but the sauce was definitely good. I wish the gnocchi was not as soft to counter the nature of the sauce. The caprese salad was good and I loved the presentation. The garlic knots were a little hard. Wine/Cocktails: Nice wine selection and cocktails. A little surprised the wine tasting was served in a shot glass. It took a long time for my wine to arrive. Service: Our server Mike was the best. Well versed in the menu and he was very high energy. We also met the owner who was also helpful. The one strong point for this place was that we were able to easily make a reservation on Open Table about 15 minutes before showing up on a Saturday. We went here because our first choice (non-italian) doesn't take reservations and the wait was over 2 hours. This place had service that was almost comical and I will leave it at that so that this is not too incriminating. The food turned out to be 4 stars and we tried several dishes; Fra Diavalo, Pierro's Seafood specialty dish, House Salad, and Salmon. Pricing seemed on par for higher end places with entrees over $30. Ambience was 3 stars. It is pretty much a large room and it is not at all intimate, trendy, or distinctive. In summary, this place is more of 3.5 stars and I would go again if we couldn't get a reservation at other Raleigh restaurants. We do not live in NC and were visiting the Rolesville area. read more

LOOOOVE this place!! Came here on a Saturday around 3PM and sat outside (it was such a beautiful day out!). Our server was really helpful with the menu, quick, and so friendly. We ended up ordering the Fritto Misto appetizer, which was so beautifully prepared and tasted even better. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I typically stay away from fried food, but this was so crisp and light, we were delighted. And the garlic knots!! Those are so delicious, we went through those so quick. For the main course, we ordered the lasagna and chicken fettuccine alfredo - both were so tasty! The food just tastes so fresh, the presentation is beautiful, and the serving sizes are great. I also just want to note that you really cannot beat the prices here! My lunch chicken fettuccine was $13, which is basically unheard of nowadays for a fine dining restaurant. Fun fact to close off on: I actually went to the original Fayetteville location for my dinner before prom yearssss ago (2016!), and it was so lovely! Very nice place. We went here prior to a Canes game and found the place not quite empty. Nice and quiet. They put on the game for us with no sound but that fit the mood quite well. The focaccia was excellent however the caprese we ordered left us wanting the normal "creamy" buffalo style mozzarella. It was kind of dry for our taste. I ordered the Lobster Carbonara and was pleased with the creamy and flavorful sauce. The pasta was cooked al dente and very well done. The portions were smaller than expected but filling nonetheless. It was my first time trying Pierro's and I went during Restaurant week. We were really impressed with the quantity of the food. The portions were more than enough for two people with leftovers. My favorite was the Braised Short Rib. The short Rib was really tender and full of flavor. I'd definitively get it again. My friend has a food allergy so our server made sure to ask about while ordering and recommended items that she could have. To drink I got a dirty martini, which was made just as I asked. Unfortunately for us, we just ended up with really below average service. We were seated 5 minutes before we saw anyone and then another long wait without service before the meal arrived. We were served delicious garlic knots rolls. We also ordered fried ravioli, perfectly fried and tender. They were served with a marinara sauce. I ordered Anna Louisa lasagna, and my husband had pappardelle Bolognese, his go to anywhere. He said it was just ok, a bit bland and mostly hamburger meat. But, he ate it all. Adding salt helped. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at an elevated restaurant. Our table of two spent TWO AND A HALF HOURS waiting for our food and check. When the food finally arrived, it was sloppy and cold, and one of our orders was completely wrong. The Brussels Sprout appetizer was a LOT, which was good because it took a LONG time for the entrees. We had Pesto Lasagna and Chicken Francese. The former was a a little overcooked (browned corner) and while my date liked the Chicken Francese, I just didn't care for it. Overall a decent place to eat but I probably won't be returning. Went here for Valentines Day and the food was amazing. They had a limited menu which I was at first apprehensive about but everything on the menu was very good. We were a party of 4 and all tried different items and they were all 10/10. The cocktails are also very tasty and appropriately priced. Our server was absolutely amazing, I believe her name was Angelina she was from a different location and did her absolute best when it came to our table. The restaurant is extremely beautiful and very intimate. I will say seats are very close to each other so you may bump into the table next to you but nonetheless it is a perfect place for a date night or special dinner. The appetizers that got there after 45 minutes were good though. Seems like they were understaffed. It shouldn't take so long for salad and wine. They also forgot my friend's coffee with his tiramisu. If you're gonna charge above average prices for food, it better be above average quality. The auto-grat was the final spit on the face. It resembled a tagliatelle. Very very delicious. I asked for extra beef which was the right choice. My friend ordered the Fra Diablo and ate every bite.
