We went with the Cajun wings and a seafood boil with king crab legs, shrimp, boiled eggs, potatoes, and corn. You can choose between different marinades and spice levels. We went with garlic butter and mild spice. I really wanted to try the shrimp fried rice but it was no longer available, I assume due to being sold out. Next time! Upon delivery, the food arrived very hot and smelled delicious. They ensure it's packaged so a leak doesn't occur. The wings were super crispy, flavorful, and delicious. The boil was a huge portion, truly fresh, flavorful, and delicious. You never know what you're going to get when you order seafood for delivery, but we were thoroughly impressed! The seafood boil and wings could feed two people I'd say. I can't wait to order again and absolutely will be. I will say the only downside is the price, it was about $160 for the boil and wings, but for a special occasion, absolutely worth it. I was debating between four and five stars but it was SO delicious and fresh, that I had to go with five.

It does tend to get busy, so you may have a little wait for your food, but it's definitely worth it. The shrimp Rasta pasta was creamy, flavorful, and had the perfect amount of spice, plus they give a generous portion of shrimp. The fried fish was cooked well and tasted great, and the steamed vegetables with the garlic butter seasoning were also really good. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

We sat outside this day, as the weather was mild and there wasn't any available seats inside. We ordered a fried combo and a grilled combo. TrySeafood does a lot of things right. Portion size was fairly generous. We especially love the fact they serve cleaned jumbo shrimp. Food was cooked well, shrimp was tender as was scallops. The broccoli was not tender crisp nor mushy. The potatoes and corn were delicious. While service was friendly, it was a bit slow. Also, I'm not an Old Bay fan. The grilled shrimp were seasoned with Old Bay. While the fish was crispy, I prefer a cornmeal dredge to a flour dredge. Finally, (and this could have been a me thing) the tip percentage on the screen doesn't align with the math. I intended to tip 15% - which is standard especially considering slow service. That should have been approx $8 and when I got home I realized it was approximately $16. You're not given a printed receipt and if you're in a rush and going through the process quickly it's easy to miss. Again I may have missed something, but I'm pretty sure I selected the %15 option. Additionally, I've seen other restaurants that have intentionally include this practice. Would I go again, sure. I'd request a different seasoning blend or a light seasoning and check that math! They do have seating available, but it feels more like a place where most people order their food and take it home. The parking lot is a little tight, but the food made up for it. I ordered the shrimp and fish basket, along with cabbage and mac & cheese for my sides. The cabbage was cooked well, and the mac & cheese was decent. The seafood was good, and overall the meal was worth the wait. One thing I enjoyed was their homemade lemonade. They also have plenty of menu options and daily specials depending on the day of the week, so there's a good chance you'll find something that fits what you're craving. Overall, it was a good experience. If you're in the Raleigh area and looking for some good seafood and soul food, I'd recommend giving this place a try. It was a bittersweet moment and I'm glad we chose Cape Fear. Kelly was our waitress and she was outstanding, truly making my last meal at Cape Fear a special one (being that they're a very small chain in NC, I'm unsure if I'll ever be back). The drinks were constantly filled and her service was one of the best I have ever had at any restaurant. I ordered a bunch of food, knowing it would be my last time ever having their risotto, clam chowder, and hushpuppies, along with their delicious fried seafood platter. I had told Kelly I was moving so she made it a spectacular visit and went above and beyond. I will miss Cape Fear. It reminds me of The Hamptons. It's casual but classy. It was a fantastic meal with phenomenal service with an amazing friend. Truly, what could be better?

Zero stars. I could…read morebe wrong, but I believe this is the first "terrible" review I've left on Yelp. We just left this "restaurant" after horrible service before even finalizing our entree orders. This was our first time trying it, and we were excited because we love all kinds of seafood. The restaurant was not very busy. The waitress was friendly and helpful at first. We ordered a mini-crab cake appetizer, which was brought out promptly. At that point we began placing our entree orders. My wife ordered a flounder basket. I then ordered the shrimp taco meal. My order was to come with 2 tacos. So, I made a simple request: one with grilled shrimp and one with fried shrimp (since they serve both). I then received a lengthy, stammering explanation of how "they" don't let them do that. I offered to pay the higher of the two prices and explained, since it was our first time there, I was hoping to try different options. However, she maintained this could not be done. So, I requested to speak with a manager. She seemed surprised, but said, " okay," and went to the back. For the next 5 minutes, I waited (a bit annoyed, since I was hungry and knew our order was not even in process). After a little more than 5 minutes, she came back and said, "you can still talk to a manager if you would like, but they asked me to explain ..." Then she went into an explanation that didn't make a lot of sense. I also, at this point was not interested in explanations. It was clear to me that this restaurant has no interest in accommodating even the simplest of customers requests. I asked her for our check and told her we would finish our appetizer, pay, and leave. She told me she could get the manager, but at that point, I told her there was no need. It was clear to me the manager tried to avoid having the initial discussion in the first place, hoping the waitress could get me to accept the answer and move on. We paid and left. I'm usually a very generous tipper (maybe even too generous sometimes). I try to error in the direction of more, but less. My wife is the same, having worked in the service industry, including waitressing for many years. In this case, I left no tip, and wrote a brief explanation on the merchant receipt. I had noticed some of the "don't recommend" reviews on Yelp prior to checking it out, but sometimes I view those as one-offs. In this case, I found myself agreeing wholeheartedly with the reviews indicating they will never be back. Even if ultimately I could not get what I requested, and was even still unconvinced as to a legitimate reason, had this been handled with even a modicum of respect for a paying customer, I likely would have refrained from reviewing at all, instead of this negative review. At no point during this situation was I rude, loud, argumentative, or inappropriate in any way. When a manager doesn't care, that attitude permeates the business. As for the mini crab-cakes, they were okay, but not what I would have expected for the price.
