Just picked up my 2025 Tacoma with the so called JBL premium sound package which was a disappointment. Searched google and came across this place they where #1 on the google recommend audio shops, went down some with MJ super knowledgeable guy, he brought out all the equipment that would work for my truck for me to see, gave me a quote then left, called him up 20min later told him let's do it, to my surprise he said can you be her in 30min? I'm like I'm there, he squeezed me, then his team led by Jon went to work, later I hear this thumping and vocals coming from the work area and MJ goes that's your truck, my jaws dropped in excitement, I couldn't believe that was my truck and how good I sounded, mind you this is my first sound system so I didn't know what to expect and they didn't disappoint. I recently had an alarm, amplifier and Sub installed into my truck and it was one of the best install experiences I've had to date. I've had a bad experience before at another local stereo shop in Waipahu and was reluctant to go back to an independent stereo installer because of that, but my friend 'J" whose Car company J&J Auto is right next-door said that the guys at car audio and security specialist are cool and very professional. Another friend of mine just got his sub and amp installed there and that convinced me that that this was the shop to go so I started the conversation onYelp. Jon Q answered all my questions on Yelp (and I had a lot of questions) with a quote that was very reasonable so I set the appointment time. When I came into the shop, I was greeted by MJ. He was really cool. Didn't try to upsell me. We have all gone into stereo shops and asked questions about product and the person over the counter immediately either makes you feel like your total noob or they talk down to you like you're dumb and just try to upsell you but MJ did not do that, he asked me what I was interested in and what equipment it would be used for so I let him know about my sub. He asked me my budget and help me get an amplifier with the specs I wanted in my budget and I really appreciated that. Jon Q handle my install, and he did such an amazing job. His work was so clean, he then pointed out extra features that he hooked me up with my alarm install that I didn't know I even wanted, ha! That was above and beyond what I expected. A lot of times when you get something installed, they just want you in and out and do the minimum amount of work, but I felt like car audio, and security were really trying to do a quality job. They uninstalled my old Alarm, (the one that I didn't want with the fat FOB) and my old blown powered subwoofer and all the wiring involved and then installed my new alarm and amplifier and concealed my new subwoofer exactly where I wanted it. For them to do that they had to take out this plastic liner behind my seat, for them to do that they had to take out my seats, all this within the budget that was agreed to, with no up charge after the initial. I will definitely go back to them for any other installation needs and encourage anyone else to do the same. Initially, the main reasons why I was interested in this company was it was close to my work, but after checking their yelp reviews, then asking my friend whose shop is next-door to them and asking if they're cool people and then another friend saying he just had his Sub installed there,.. that was the confirmation that I needed that I found the right place and after all that was said and done, they were correct. After having shopped around for a good security alarm installer, I ended up going with these guys, and super happy that I did! The owner was the first one I spoke to over the phone, and he was very quick to say that he would be happy to do my car, whereas some other spots that were much closer to where I live were hesitant because I had a Japanese import kei car. I think one spot was also trying to charge me more for it, even though I told them that I had the wiring diagram. These guys? Nah, they were quick to respond with, "Yeah, no problem, just bring it in!" So I did bring it over, mostly just to ask questions about options and pricing. A few other dealers were specific to either Compustar or Viper, but their team gave me information on both options, and even gave me the model numbers to do research on my own. Response time on the Yelp app? Also super quick! All in all, their service was fantastic. Seriously, they answered every single annoying question that I threw at them over a total of 3 pre-install visits. I thought they were gonna tell me to get lost, but instead they gave me great info, installed the alarm within a reasonable amount of time, and did so with a smile. I actually ended up having a bit of an issue with the door lever, but when I took it back to get it adjusted, they did so within 30 minutes with all smiles. As a contrast, there's another spot on Beretania that couldn't even be bothered to return my calls, even after I went there in person, and followed up with them twice AND they wanted to charge me over $150 more ... LOL. I guess they didn't want my business, so I'm super happy that I gave my money to Car Audio & Security Specialists. Do I recommend them? Yeeeeep! A+ Rating from me! read more

so many problems with my install the whole drilled in the firewall no Gromit not sealed up the wiring on the deck Done wrong the rear speakers not screwed all the way in back up cam fell off after 3days in line fuse just butt connectors slid on the blade of each side of the fuse and a wrap of tape. No fuse holder at all. hit a speed bump today and the whole deck bounced around. Learn there's only one screw holding it in absolutely awful. If you use this place be sure to inspect the installation. I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

just wanted to post an update. After leaving a review about a bad experience getting our dash cam installed here before we were contacted by Q. One of the reasons I was unhappy previously was that a feature the camera was supposed to have wasn't set up because we had needed an extra wiring kit and weren't aware of that at the time of it being installed. Q reached out to me and apologized. He asked me to bring the car by with the wiring kit and he would take care of it. His exact words were "We just want to make sure you are Happy with our service. Thats the main thing." Q unfortunately was out of town when we scheduled the appointment but still coordinated with us and his crew to get our car in and serviced by another technician there named J. J did a fantastic job and we were in and out of there in about 45 minutes. We were very happy and will definitely trust them with and further work we need done on the car. read more

Everytime Ash leaves the island his brother takes over and tries to milk his customers....wanted to charge me over 800.00 to put in an amp and a DASH MOUNTED navigation system that attaches to the windshield and hooks to my cigarette lighter...it has a back up camera and he tried making it a big deal about running the wire from the dash to the back for the camera...then said 199.00 just to put in the navigation...then lowered it to 150.00...no longer will be an repeat customer...I'm done with this place....Ash needs to fire this fool read more
