I wish I could give this place NEGATIVE STARS!! I bought two $600 Rockford T1S1-12 subs here two months ago. When a crack appeared on the foam surround, I brought it back expecting help with a warranty claim. Before even looking at the sub, the owner muhammad, immediately dismissed me, claiming it must have been "hitting something." I explained there was more than enough clearance and invited him to take a look for himself. He walked outside, glanced at it for barely 5 seconds, and said, "Yeah, sorry, nothing we can do. Rockford has a different warranty than brands like Kicker. You could buy a new one though." Guess what? I reached out directly to Rockford Fosgate myself. Within 24 hours, Rockford inspected photos of the sub and fully approved the warranty replacement. Elite Audio couldn't even be bothered to do basic homework for a customer who already spent $1200 in their shop. They aren't interested in helping you after you walk out the door--just in selling you another unit. Take your money to a shop that actually backs what they sell, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! read more

We been getting our car alarms bought and installed from these folks for years. Located across the street from taco bell in pearl city in a two story building. There is alot of parking on their lot and it does fill up. Inside the store is packed with all kinds of stereo and car audio and alarm merchandise The staff is pretty cool and straight forward. I would guess (have been out of the stereo world along time) their pricing is decent and affordable judging by the foot traffic and stuff they have packed inside. I've been a repeat customer for years. Started off with my first 10 inch sub door speakers replaced, then a salt 5 channel with 12 inch sub, then car alarm system, now got my stereo, DSP, a few more amps AND upgraded to a 15" sundown with a custom box, a speaker rack and second battery. For the main part, they've always installed well, sound system sounded great AND no matter how long it's been since install, if something stopped working or anything, they would check it out and fix it FOR FREE considering during these fixes it was typically something small to be fixed. I am a technician myself so I understand ain't nobody perfect. Secondly, I don't come in trying to low ball them. I kinda make my budget known and ask them what're the best options with the budget I got and Mohammed and his son are more than willing to throw out ideas and help in person which is great. After getting to hear my sound system after every upgrade, I'm always stoked with it and tip the install techs some cash to show my appreciation. Also I tend to talk story with them for a little before and after install and they're cool guys. Over all, treat them like they're actual people and understand not everyone's perfect in every little thing and not just people who are trying to "rip you off" like some of the other reviews say, then their services are pretty great. Years ago I bought an alarm system for my Van from these guys. It worked like a charm for many years. It spoiled me with the automatic start and pager/alarm. 5 years ago after changing my van battery my alarm system wouldn't work. Then last week I changed the battery again and all of sudden its working again. The codes were off and I couldn't have the remote to recognize the alarm system. Another words, it was activated and wouldn't shut off. The horn/siren wailing would continuously be on. Had to cut the wires to drive it to there business located in Aiea. Save your money and do an about-face to this place. Their motive is to rip you off and provide a service that they won't back up. As a loyal and repeat customer, Service member, and purchaser of a brand new 55k car. I went against my better judgment to use this place, again, even after an inadequate, at best, first-time experience. I received nothing but audio issues after being charged 1400.00 (A joke of a $50.00 military discount) to install one off-brand 12 in sub with box and amp. Upon starting my car, the speaker will activate, giving off a deafening and constant thump that lasts what seems like a minute. Also, while driving, with absolutely nothing playing, the sub will activate doing the same thing. Additionally, This extreme annoyance and embarrassment persist while playing music. It's so bad that I cannot even use my sub installed by "Elite Car Stereo."  Nothing about this experience has been elite. I called several times to address my concern, and they did, however, provide me the opportunity to bring my vehicle back for further destruction, and my issues persisted over and over. They insisted that this was the case because my vehicle is brand new--what a trash excuse for terrible work. After three more attempts to fix what they screwed up, I asked them to restore my factory settings. They wouldn't do it, and instead, they added a switch for me to turn the bass on and off. Except whenever the bass is on, the terrible, loud, obnoxious, long, and non-rhythmic thump persists. At this point, I will not have another one of their techs touch my vehicle because I don't trust the fact that they will get it right. Not to mention the likelihood of them causing more damage. If you want to get a good quality service for a competitive price and the type of leadership that will honor their work, restore their faults, or pay you your money back - Skip this place altogether. They do not deserve a dime of your hard work. This place has no clue what there doing... there sales men. The guy that installs during the week knows his stuff. But whoever did my install on a brand new truck spliced into wire's instead of using the harness they charged me for the rear passenger speaker never got purged in till I found out 3 weeks later. The radio broke 4 month later they replaced it and told me the radio only has a 1 month warranty now. I paid $900 for 5 months of warranty and 2 radios. Great product. These guys can be more helpful with install process and tell customer what to expect when they install the speaker box in vehicle. Make sure you ask questions too as a buyer and not be surprised with disappointment visually when shown interior after install. Like I said product and install is very different so be careful what you wish for. Wouldn't even go back if they respond after this posting either. Wanted to go back for more upgrades, but fear the possibility of retaliation of this post will doom me. Moving on to another business that will be more valuable to the final outcome. The owner did ask if I was happy, and I was happy with product, but not with how I got my vehicle back with storage parts thrown in my back seat. Drove my car to this place. Been here before. Had crackling in my speakers and told the owner that I thought it was the head unit but he assured me that it was my speakers. So I bought new speakers from him and kept the receipt and they installed them and completely destroyed my old speakers and put the new ones in. The same problem occurred with the new speakers. But now I cannot return the speakers that I didn't even need because my old ones are DESTROYED!! Then they tell me what I already knew, that my head unit was going bad! Mohammed quoted $125 for installation. Total install time took around 2 hours. The installer towards then end called me over and said that my sub isn't good, waited another 15 mins and then said that my amp wasn't good. The front desk guy offered too sell me a alpine mrv-m500 amp that was out of the box for $250 and with a quick google search I found that Best Buy had it in stock brand new for $150. I knew my sub/amp was working so I told them to test out their amp first too see if it works and just like I predicted it did not work. I don't even know how that guy got it to start working with my old setup but whatever he did it worked when I left the store. Driving back home it shuts off and at this point I'm furious and don't ever want anything to do with this store. Problems that I had -sub would play then automatically turn off -amp wasn't getting power -amp has power but sub isn't turning on I decided to take a look myself. Checked voltage to the amp & continuity to all fuses. I found out -4ga power wire wasn't crimped good to the terminal, came right off -4ga ground wire wasn't crimped good to the terminal, came right off -remote wire terminal wasn't connected, most likely came out The quality of the work is just so inadequate and pathetic for a simple installation. How do you even not have the right crimping tool for 4 gauge?!?! Please do yourself a favor go anywhere else but here, don't want anyone else to go through the same shit that I went through. read more

BAD SHADY BUSINESS!!!! I needed a plastic kit for duble din dvd player for my g35 they sold me a generic kit that didnt even fit good. And it took them like 3 hours to install in my car which i thought was weird. It should have only took like 1 hour tops so i kept asking whats going on he had this look on his face like he was a sketchy guy. So 3 hours pass and i get my car back everything is installed but the generic kit looks like it has bad fitment. So i leave it on for about 4 months, Then decide to get the real authentic japanese piece. I took it to a different shop and they told me that ELITE CAR STEREO SUPER GLUED IT TO MY CAR!! My bf wants to install speakers in his car so he decides to go price shopping at different stores. We decide to visit this store first to see what they offered. They seem to have a ton of items, but what made us walk out the door to not come back were the workers. The person informing us was such a hard seller. It really escalated quickly from just browsing for prices to "I can give you this much if you buy it today". He quoted my bf $225 for two sets of speakers. We went to Best Buy after our visit from this store and found the same item (if we were to buy two sets) priced for less. Needless to say we won't be coming back to this store. read more
