I ask could I get a lift to work on 8th Wells his response "need all workers because they were very busy." Ok....5 minutes later a old white man entered same question...Yes I will get a "driver to take you home"..... Really I guess the criteria for a lift....is White skin...not black and female. Honestly, I don't understand these reviews...I'm a pretty critical person and can say Omar and team have been nothing but good to me. I've had routine maintenance as well as big repairs done there and they have always been honest and polite, with super quick turn around time. The Firestone shop a block away is way more expensive and way less friendly. I've never worked with friendlier mechanics than at this Goodyear. They actually know their customers by name. Can't recommend this place more. Just got a new (used) car and went straight to Omar for new tires! As usual, he got me a good deal! read more

The whole process took only 2 hours to replace 2 tires. I was so impressed with this place. If I were local, they would have all my future business for sure. read more

I would never recommend coming to this place ever. I recently came to this tire shop because I had caught a flat downtown and they were the nearest shop from Apple on Michigan Ave. Apart of me calling the corporate headquarters on them after I sat for nearly an hour of being ran around. The sales associate Faisal had the audacity to make me sit there after selling me a very good used tire to change my flat as I was not able to drive anywhere. After being in their facility for 3 hours. I ended up leaving on a donut. I do not recommend this place to anyone! Calling corporate will not work because they are privately owned. I had a flat tire in July, and went to Car Care when I got my car towed because it was the closest auto shop to where I lived. They suggested changing all four tires and offered free alignment, and I agreed because my tires were old. The cost of the tires and labor was very expensive - nearly $900. However, afterwards all 4 of the tires began leaking air to the point where I had to put air in the tires on a daily basis. I went back to Car Care because I had my tires installed there, and in hindsight I should have taken my vehicle to another shop. All 4 of the air valves on my tires were broken and they said it was $90 per tire to get them fixed, but they would give me a "discount" and fix each air valve for $60. It didn't sit right with me that it would cost that much after looking online at how much replacing a broken air valve should be (not nearly that price point). However, by the time I called them back they said they already completed the work on the car. My tires are fine now and no longer leak air, but I was taken advantage of by this shop. If you need work completed on your car, call around for quotes from other shops. I would not take my business to this shop in the future. read more

Company like this one is the reason auto shops have such bad reputations. I would say, unless your insurance is paying for it, go for it... but why give them the satisfaction?They should be exposed for the crooks they are. I took my vehicle in for a inspection because someone at work drove my vehicle over the sidewalk edge and scrapped it. I was worried there was damage under my vehicle since the car was dripping a little bit from underneath. I took my car in to the shop, and told the guy at the front what had happened and what my concerns were. I waited for about 1hr. and finally the guy returns back with an estimate for my car. He informed me that the bottom of my car had been cracked and the rack and pinion had been damaged that created the leak under my car, which caused the shock absorbers to be out of place and needed to be removed and replaced. I sat there and listened. Tried to make sense of what he was trying to sell me. Had zero idea what any of that meant and had a meltdown when I realized what the total repair $ amount was going to cost me to fix these problems. $2300 to be exact, & that was just the half of the estimate he provided me with. Another $900 they estimated needed to fix my brakes on my vehicle because it had a little bit of a squeak. They informed me that it might not be safe to drive my vehicle and that if I needed a rental, it would be $15 per day and it would take 2 days to get the parts and 2 days for labor. I was charged $70 to have my vehicle inspected, and if I chose to have it fixed, it would go towards my repair. Mind you, I have a 2010 RX Lexus that has less than 40,000 miles on it. This car is built to last. I decided to take my chances and not leave my car, instead took it to a body shop closer to my job that was recommended by my employer. I took my vehicle in to have it checked, and the owner told me there was nothing wrong with the car. He did not understand where Good Year came up with the damages considering that the rack and pinion was perfectly fine. He raised my car up and showed me there was no damage and my rack and pinion was perfectly fine. As a matter of fact, the rack and pinion he showed me was protected by other skeleton pieces of metal and impossible for anything to have happened to my rack and pinion. He informed me that the reason my vehicle was dripping, was because of the air conditioner. It's normal for a vehicle to drip a little bit under the car if the AC is used. I was charged zero $ for my inspection. I was a little skeptical about the whole situation. I thought to myself.. why would Good Year feed me these crazy stories about my vehicle, and this 2nd body shop tells me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car. I figured that I needed a 3rd opinion, so I went to see another body shop to get my car inspected. This body shop was highly recommended as being honest and reasonable. I took my vehicle in, and informed the owner what my concerns were. They took my vehicle for a test drive, raised my vehicle up and came back to tell me that nothing was wrong with my vehicle. I showed the owner the estimate from Good Year and what they informed me needed to be fixed and he told me he did not know why Good Year would recommend any of those repairs since my vehicle was perfectly fine. My car drove perfect and I should not be concerned. He gave me my keys and told me it was free of charge. I was charged zero $ for my inspection. Go figure.. Good Year, shame on you. Taking advantage of women and people everywhere to fatten up your pockets. Shame... Shame.. Please go somewhere else and stay away from crooks like these. I am surprised insurance companies do not have random checks on companies like this they are affiliated with. They are being robbed twice as much. read more

My tires had 35,00 miles and I had a flat. They got me in the very next early morning snd got the job done. Very happy with the results.

Goodyear = bad tires+bad techniques+bad service. Worst experience ever! Here's the story. Photos attached. I changed two tires at Goodyear south loop in July 2018 for my Hyundai Santa Fe. Two "brand new tires" with 50,000 miles warranty, cost me $380. Three months later, in October, when I was driving with these two tires - had only 3,000 miles since I brought them - on a highway in Tennessee surrounded by trucks, these two tires suddenly broke out and triggered the alarm. The car lost control and four person in the car almost got killed! I had to drive between trucks and urgently pulled over the car! I then called Geico. The Geico staff were good enough to check the tires for me: no nails, nothing bursted the tires, just the tires themselves. The Geico staff said they have never seen this before and suggested me to take the tires back to Goodyear because this was definitely problematic. Then, I changed the tires at a nearby Walmart and later did an inspection at a nearby Firestone, both of whom made the same suggestion: take the tires back to Goodyear! Remember, because of the tires and services Goodyear provided, four person in the car almost got killed on the highway! Let along the additional cost of $900 I spent to called the emergency, changed the tires, did a rotation, and checked the alignment and everything - I had to check everything because I had no idea what Goodyear did to my car! Ok, then, the worst part came out when I took the tires back to Goodyear south loop Chicago, the staff there refused to explain anything with a terribly rude manner. They simply asked me to leave the tires and let them send them back to the headquarter to do a technical check. It was October. Now, two months later, in the beginning of 2019, I hear NOTHING from them. Every time when I called and asked them, they simply ask me to wait and hang out the phone. Today I still have no idea what happened to the "new" tires they changed for me, what kind of "service" they did to my car. The tires are in warranty (reminder: it was with 50,000 miles warranty and when they broke out, it was 3,000 miles). They should have refunded me the money because I have already had two new tires from Firestone and I don't need two fxcking new tires from Goodyear, even for free. Plus, I haven't even requested a refund of all the money I spent in Tennessee to repair, solve, and take care of the problems/issues/damages that Goodyear caused. Suggestion: NEVER EVER go to Goodyear! I would suggest Firestone, or even Walmart is way more better than Goodyear. For my experience, they didn't do nothing good to my car but destroyed my car, and the tires and service they provided almost kill me and my family. Bad auto services not only damage your car but also damage your life. Just don't go, no only for your car but also for your own safety. That's it. read more

I am leaving this review after receiving my receipt and realizing how much I was overcharged by this establishment. I had emergency car repair due to my tire suspension breaking. I turned in my car Saturday evening. I called them early that Sunday morning to see if they were able to take a look at it. They had my car all day Sunday and didn't touch it. I got a call from them on Monday speaking about the repairs and that they may be working until 7pm on the car. However, I got a call at 1:30pm that it was done. That means it was only 4-5 hours of labor time on my car. My receipt shows that they charged me over $1,000 for labor time. The same price as the actual parts. If you are charging $135/hr, how does 4-5 hours equate to $1,000 of labor time? I feel like I was taken advantage of, especially as a woman and a visitor to this city. read more

I found a nail in my tire over the weekend, so brought it in this morning before work to get it repaired. They open at 7am, I was there at 7:30, told them the problem, and the guy at the front counter told me I was first in line and it shouldn't take long. As it turns out, the tire was unrepairale, and he showed me my (nail went into sidewall and tire had a bubble). He found me a tire they had in stock (though I thought it was a bit pricey, but I was on a timetable and didn't have a lot of time to research, so I paid it), and he still had me out in about twenty minutes. Had previous brake and tire work done on a couple occasions and grew to trust and prefer this shop. Took car in recently for same brake and tire job and these gentlemen return the car with battery and coolant errors; errors I'd never seen before and did not have when I dropped the car off. Instead of being honest about what happened to my vehicle while it was in their shop or explaining why they did not take the car for a spin after a full tire/brake job, these jokers try to charge me $1700 for an alternator. Not taking any culpability or ownership that the shyt went down in their shop. I'll NEVER return. Unphucking believable. read more

Corporate really needs to investigate this place. They recommend unnecessary work and are gouging customers. Another friend of mine had similar experiences with them. For me they recommended work I recently had done. I replaced both front and rear sway bar links only a few days before taking my car here for a front end alignment. Mechanic recommended front sway bar. When they called to approve work I told them I had front sway bar links replaced. Came to pick up my car and lo and behold front sway bar links are not on final bill but rear ones are. Didn't tell them I replaced the rear too! Shady. Then I took my car to firestone. They recommended and I approved a front end alignment! They said nothing about sway bar links. read more

This locations is full of crap. I went there to get an oil change for my 2019 jaguar F pace truck and was told the cost will be $422. They told me that they didn't have that oil in, so they had to have it delivered and it should take about a hour. I had to put a $50 deposit down. While I waited for the oil to come, I called jaguar dealership and it was much cheaper to get an oil change, so I changed my mind. I was told that I couldn't get my $50 deposit because they have already delivered the oil. So when I kept pressing them about it, so now they tells me it will be a return fee if they have to come and pick up the oil. When I asked why u guys just can't keep the oil incase u get another car that needs this oil, was told they don't keep oil there. Are u kidding me. So today when I called corporate although this is a Private own Good Year, they tell them the oil was picked up yesterday 1/18/2023, but I've been calling sense 12/26/2022. I wouldn't never go back there, they're some crooks and tell women anything to get and keep their money. I'll be calling BBB on this company today. Do not go here for a diagnostic check! My car died on me this past week. On the recommendation of AAA, I had my car towed here. For four days , Goodyear had my car and they were not able to provide me with any other information than it needs a new engine (which was the only thing written on my diagnostic report) nor could they provide me with an estimate on the cost to repair or replace engine. Within thirty minutes of having my car towed to another shop, the mechanic was able to identify the problem with the engine, by actually removing the engine cover to identify that a head gasket had been blown. I wouldn't advise going to the Goodyear in South Loop unless your just looking for a way to waste your time and money. read more

I am so glad I read the great Yelp reviews for this Good Year tire center because an unexpected flat caused an emergency visit. Manager Omar was exceptionally helpful, friendly & professional as were Brian & Amir. Omar assured me I could drive the car slowly since I was only a few blocks away. They checked me in right away and said I would get it back before 5p. I treated myself to amazing nearby Spoke & Bird Cafe and within an hour the car was ready! They thoroughly explained the warranty in detail and that they do complete auto work. Didn't know so I am taking my car there from now on. read more

I went in and asked if I could have some air, and was told there would be a $10.00 charge for air. Recently, I had two front axels malfunctioning and the Lexus dealer quoted $4,000+ for the repair. These guys searched around for a deal on the parts and cut my costs in half. I brought my car in because the sensor on one tire had low air pressure. The tire shop claims it was a rim crack instead of the tire that was under warranty. I paid $350 to repair the rim or tire. I picked up the car and sensor either wasn't connected or they lost it. They said they would look into it and call me but no follow up. Then we brought the car up to the shop and 2 different stories. I don't enjoy wasting my days off dealing with people who lie. We have spent a lot of money at this shop and I don't enjoy spending money for people to break something else. Then they tell me "they will work with me on the price". The sensor was working when we brought it in. All other sensors work and they should take responsibility for fixing it. We will never get work done at this shop again because we don't want dishonest people working on our car. read more

Had them install the air filter I had previously purchased, while doing the oil change and tire rotation. They initially quoted $60. I said never mind I'll do it myself so they offered $40. They described it as being very complicated. The next time we opened the glove box It fell to the floor and dumped all of its contents. Avoid this shop at all costs. They overcharge, miss deadlines without updates, and are completely unreliable to document your car's service. I originally had my 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser towed into their shop because they were AAA recommended and one of the few shops open on a Sunday. I had recently gotten a brake job done at another shop on the north side (Auto Tecx which I'd avoid too because of this overlapping situation). They told me that my car had significant damage because the other shop had messed up the brake job. I asked them to document the damage so I could go back to the other shop. They agreed to do so. When I arrived to pick up the car, I was informed that Omar was supposed to have prepared the documentation for me, but was not in, but only after I paid for the bill. They told me they'd be able to get it back to me without any problem, instead it took two weeks. I was in the middle of planning a move, supporting my 7 month pregnant wife, caring for my toddler daughter, working a full time job, and coordinating care for my sick mother, so I shrugged off situation and decided to return to it when I was finished with the move. Before I could finish the move, the same car broke down during my commute to work. I was close to their shop and thought they had done a reasonable enough job with their work the last time that I just towed it back to them (biggest mistake of my life). They diagnosed the issue as a damaged transmission line and said they could have the car back to me by the end of the week. They missed three self-imposed deadlines to get the car back to me, and not once called me back to update me on the situation, instead I would call them after each of their stated deadlines passed only to find out the vehicle wasn't ready. When they finally said the car was ready I went to pick it up, only to find out that the car's transmission had been blown. When I asked them about how the repair would cost they quoted me at $9100, then offered to reduce the cost to $7200 for reasons that were clearly made up and arbitrary. It was at this point that I towed the car to a dealership and had the transmission repaired for significantly less than the $7200 quoted from the Goodyear. The dealership let me know that I had paid more than twice as much for the transmission line repair with Car Care that I would've paid through them (the DEALERSHIP mind you). When I presented the documentation to the other shop, I learned how inadequate it was. There were no photographs taken from the Goodyear, they had documented my mileage incorrectly (somehow my vehicle had 3,000 fewer miles on it than when the other shop did the brake job), and the documentation was written up with minimal detail. Auto Tecx also stated that even if the reasoning stated was accurate, that they had charged me for new brake kits on the front and back, when only the back would've been necessary (once again they double charged). All in all, I don't know who was most honest between the two auto shops, but I will avoid both from now on and highly encourage you to do the same. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Terrible and demeaning customer service with bullying type responses to questions. I had the nerve to actually ask questions and was confronted with defensive rude behavior not only from "Q" but also from the manager Omar. I felt completely attacked and bullied it was awful plus was provided with bad advice and unanswered questions. After minimal research I'd found the tire expertise that I'd relied upon from Goodyear was a very bad decision and they refused to make a return or exchange. I paid $400 for 2 mismatched used tires when I would have paid less for 2 new tires bought independently. Additionally I left with my tires at 60 and 61 psi and had to come back after noticing this error. Suffice to say, I'll never go back! read more

Well on Sunday my son brought his car into this Good Year location. He has 2005 Honda Pilot with around 200k miles. They told him that he has to wait until Monday because there wasn't anyone in to diagnose. He then was told he needed to spend 5-6000. They said they would get back to him. Good Year then offered to tear apart the engine that would be 500. He told them that it was too much money to fix a old car. They went down to 400. He did not see the point. He called to pick up the car and told him that there was a 100 day storage fee. He said that was never discussed with him. They told him that was on the contract he signed. They never gave him a copy. When asked for a copy they said that they couldn't provide him with that. The girl that handled that wasn't there. I called back and spoke to Ahmad the manager and he said there is 100 a day storage fee it's a common practice in the city. I would not recommend this place especially being a first time customer. read more

I had a flat tire with my Cadillac. Run flats vs Chicago roads - we all know the winner. I was in a rush for an important morning at work. The service team realized this and had the ability that morning to "rush" me in. Being a car-guru myself, I could appreciate the team's knowledge and skill. They gave me options with a range of price and times, too. My hand was forced on the fast track, which turned out to be just fine. They got my car in, up and fixed quickly and on my way. I wish I had read these customer reviews before I invested as much as I did ($$$$). I sadly wanted to keep my Buick Enclave going because it had been paid off and I didn't want to hop back in the car market. I had gotten oil changes and headlights replaced here and thought it might be fine for other issues. I took my car in THREE different times for the same thing to be repaired and it was never repaired. They promised that they had people that could repair issue most likely having to do with electronic control unit and programming, but the car kept having issues. They supposedly "replaced" old part, but now I'm wondering if that was the case. They had to bring in a GM programmer mechanic - but that also didn't work. If the engine was just dead, dead - I wish they would have just said that vs milking me for money. DO NOT GO HERE. THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS. The convenience will pull you in with the oil changes and tires - BUT DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE. read more

STAY AWAY! If I could give a negative rating I would. I dealt with a guy named 'Q' and he did nothing but try to take advantage of me. And to some extent he still did. Had my Acura TL towed to this location at the end of April 2017. Needed work on my radiator. He told me I needed a new radiator, radiator cap, thermostat, and an ECT sensor. I told Q that I just replaced the thermostat the weekend before and it should still be good. (The one I took out of my car was stuck open and froze, the new one is springy) he told me it needed replace cause of damage. This conversation was over the phone. I told him to go ahead with the work. Communication was terrible. I had to keep calling hours after they were suppose to call me. I get another call 3 days later that they found a slow leak in the water pump and it would need replaced. And now my bill was going from 850 to 1500. After the AAA discount. I asked him for a quote of everything. When I got it, not only did I get up charged on all parts. He tried to add on additional labor charges. His response was he needed to have labor on the quote for warranty purposes and the discount applied takes care of it.. NO. The discount applied takes care of me being a AAA member. After telling him no on the water pump he tried to negotiate a price to do it. He went from 1500 to 1200 immediately. Then said anything less they'd be losing money. NO. The 1200 is what I should have actually been charged. Still told him no (lost all trust in this place) After all is done I realized I didn't need to be charged $30 for the radiator cap. And I asked for the thermostat back and it was in perfect shape. Didn't need to pay $30 for it and 100 in labor. Lastly my oil needed changed so he charged me but yet the next day I noticed it was never changed!!!! How Q has a job there I don't know. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. read more

This place deserves 0 stars. Absolute scam operation. Got my car towed here and told I needed an engine replacement for $3200. After getting a second opinion at another shop my engine was completely fine. My car had bad gas nothing else. They would not answer my questions on the phone and held my car for for days, I had to pay a $500 ransom to get the car off their lot. Complete hustlers and scum of the earth. Buyer beware! I unfortunately broke down near this shop and had to bring my van to them. They took it in at 9:30 am and told me they would call when they diagnosed it. I got a call at 7:15 pm and was told that I had a bad alternator and battery. They told me that the cost was normally $1050 but was able to use coupons to get it down to $850. I stated that the charge seemed extremely high and the guy offered to do it for $799. I told him I would make a decision in the morning and he tried to force me to make one on the spot. I paid the diagnostic fee and towed the van to Sutton ford and they stated that my battery was fine and still under warranty but didn't need to be replaced. They agreed that I needed a alternator and replaced it for a little less than $300. Don't trust this place with your vehicle. read more
