Went to go for an Uber Eats inspection. Charged my 85$ just to fail it for very minor play on the left control arm. This is Chicago with tons of pot holes and horrible streets. 9 out of 10 cars will have the same play and drive till the engine goes out. They wanted to charge me 1100$ to get parts swapped out. For future people that need to get uber inspections this location is not the place to go. They will find very minor issues and fail you to keep you coming back. read more

The Midas shop at 4433 S Kedzie highly inflates their parts they purchase from O'Reillys. I checked each item put on my car all were 3 to 4 times higher. $1600 for a muffler and a couple of pipes and gaskets. Not a complete exhaust. This is absolute robbery. Go Elsewhere!!! read more

I asked for an estimate of a brake bleed and fill up. Also for the trans fluid to be filled up. I specified not to drive it as both needed to be done. I get a phone call that the guy drove it and told me my trans was going. YOU'RE LUCKY YOU DIDN'T BLOW MY TRANS! I said it was in desperate need of trans fluid. Which is why I said to fill it up. Not to drive it low. I went to Hyundai. They said that couldn't be farther from the truth. They did both. It has ECO save mode which is different from regular or sport mode. I drove it over and over wasting gas in sport mode. Everything is fine. Their technicians need more experience. They also always say you need wipers. Even if you got new wipers and they're to spec. Yet if there's a tiny streak of water and you just bought them. They advise new ones. To humor them I wasted money before and had the same streak. Cheapest in the city. At least they remember your drain screw/plug. One star up from jiffy lube. read more

This place is a Joke and will steal your money!!! I took my truck for new brakes and a caliper on my passenger side. They charged me 1,900 dollars for nothing 4 months later I had the same issue!!!! Called to speak to the manger Conner !!! Had a horrible attitude hang up the phone on me as well... they wanted to charge me on the labor on a deflected part in their end !!! Waited 6 hours and lost money and a day of work !!! I just had my car serviced at Midas on 4433 south Kedzie. The experienced can be summed up in one word, fantastic. The manager, Mike, treated us with the upmost of respect. He explained everything to us on what our car needed. My car needed extensive work, and they even stayed open an hour or so after closing just to get the job on my car done. Super fun and to the point review here.... I went in for an oil change and tire rotation, easy enough right? Apparently not. Whilst rotating my tires, they said I needed new front and back brakes. Odd because I had them done about 6 months prior and they definitely shouldnt be bad. I declined and thanked them. Said I would go to the mechanic and have them assess their work. I was then told my brakes were SO BAD that they would not put the tires back on my car unless I paid for new brakes. Wait. You wont put the tires back on my car unless I give you $1800? I literally had to laugh - I wasnt even mad I literally couldnt believe they said that. Joke was over because they were serious. So serious in fact that I HAD TO CALL THE POLICE to get them to put my tires back on. read more

If I could leave 0 I would. So I took my car just to get an alignment. They told me that my suspension was and that I needed new tie rods. Not once have I ever ran into any suspensions problems while driving until I got my car back and all of the sudden they told me over $2000 in repairs is needed and they won't even do a tire rotation. I highly implore others to not use this shop. Because now I have to deal with not the front but now the rear as well, once again as I said, I never had issues with my suspension until I got my vehicle back from this shop specifically. read more

I needed to get my brake fluid filled up. Came here and the guy said that brake fluid actually meant I need all new brakes and that it wouldn't make sense to just add fluid. He then told me to leave my car, and they "will see what's actually wrong with it." I opted out because this all seemed ridiculous, and I couldn't help but feel that this guy thought I was clueless because I am a woman. So I googled how to add brake fluid, and it's the easiest thing. Went and picked it up for $5, and filled it up myself. I had my car fixed at Kedzie Location. My cars check engine light has been on and off for a while despite being fixed at another location. Marcos, the manager explained to me what was needed to be fixed to my car to the level of my understanding. Since the repair would cost a good amount of money, he helped me with Midas Car care credit and was approved for no interest. He also gave me discounts and even refunded my Über ride. It's been a month now and the check engine light did not light at all and my car has been ok since. Thanks MIDAS Kedzie location and Thanks a lot Marcos for your big help! Came here today in an effort to have my front low beam bulb changed on my C300, not only did I receive outstanding service, but Marcus went above and beyond what I expected. He replaced the bulb that I brought as a courtesy and he even replaced the back tail light. I am so appreciate of this very generous gesture, as so many mechanics look for ways to take advantage of women. It might seem small to some, but it's big for me. Before I came in to this location, I called ahead to see if they had appointment availability for an oil change. They asked what time and confirmed that they were available. I got there about 15 minutes early and waited at the register/front desk, it took a while before I was even acknowledged. I knew I was going to get there early was was prepared to wait a little before my vehicle was taken in. When I was attended, I mention and showed them a coupon for their location, $49.99 for a synthetic oil change. I also confirmed that a free tire rotation was included in the coupon and asked for it to be done. I took a few minutes for the paperwork to be finished, after I was asked for all my information. I was told that my total would be $75.60, but I was not told why. I asked if the price was higher than the coupon because of the extra oil needed (I was already aware that the coupon was for 5 quarts of oil and my vehicle needed 7 quarts). The man said yes. Eventually, after signing some paperwork, I gave him my keys while he was taking a phone call, and I understood that I could sit down in the waiting area until my car was ready. I sat down took a minute to connect my iPad to my iPhone's hotspot and connect my AirPods to my iPad (not as "seamless" as Apple claims). It took over an hour for the service to be completed. During that time, a couple came in and had the service done to they're vehicle as well, which they finished much quicker than mine. They also did something to a small pickup truck. I, meanwhile was watching a movie- I got through about half of a Star Wars film. Eventually a technician, different than than the first man who attended me, came out and told me my vehicle was ready. He said said my total was one hundred something, I can't remember. And I told him I was told it would be seventy something. He laughed and said he was joking--riiiight. I paid with my card and signed some more paperwork and was given my keys--I wasn't told anything else. I went out to my car and was curious if they had done the tire rotation. So, I saw another technician through the glass in the work area and signaled if he could come out. He did, I asked him about the tire rotation, and he said they did. Excellent. I got in my vehicle and I smelled smoke-cigarette smoke. Fed up about how long it had taken them for an oil change and tire rotation, I left and drove home with the windows open in 35° weather. Upon arriving, I looked over the "Midas Touch Courtesy Check". It indicated a suggested service for an engine air filter and cabin air filter, with OEM Interval circled. I recently changed my air filter, so I know it's good. And my vehicle doesn't have a cabin air filter, so...what? The courtesy check also indicated my window washer fluid was filled-thanks. Although, I check and it was about 1/2 to 3/4 full--that's fine. The check also indicated I have a fluid leak from valve covers, but again, the technician told me nothing. Also in the check, my rear tires are more worn than my front tires, thank you (although I know why, hehe). Besides that, it indicates everything else is "OK". Well, I know my front shocks are worn, and I checked again, and at least one has a crack in the top housing. Overall, disappointed with service, price, communication, and the cigarette smell in my vehicle's interior (the previous owner, and myself are non-smokers). I'm never returning to a Midas for an oil change, especially not this one. read more

The service was great(only because it's very easy to smile in a person's face to get what you want). I paid for all brakes, all rotors, all new tires, wheel alignment, two hub barrings, and a new blow motor resistor. Total $2900 Picked up my car just to get on the expressway and it started to jerk so BAD that I was almost in an accident. I brought it back the next hour and the manager told the mechanic to drive my car to find the problem. He came back and said "I don't see the problem ". So, the manager asked if he could join me while I drive so that he could find out himself. As soon as I hit 45 mph it jerked so bad that he yelled "WOW, that's dangerous". I asked what the problem was he hesitated to tell me until I convinced him that I was ready to pay them to fix it. As we pulled up to Midas, he said are you going to get the tune up because that's what you REALLY need. After paying $2900 on suspension problems that didn't exist, I found out that what I REALLY needed was just a TUNE UP. I will never again trust the LIAR'S TOUCH.. OH sorry I meant MIDAS!!! I really didn't like the Midas on Archer didn't have great experiences there so when my husband told me we should try Midas on Kedzie I was skeptical. I called for availability for an oil change and was told to bring in my vehicle. I had an online coupon, which I was initially told would not be honored when I arrived because I hadn't printed it (I have been to many other oil change locations that honored online coupons, so this seemed rather silly in our digital age). After I got checked in, however, the employee said they would honor the coupon this time to make me feel welcomed, which I appreciated. After my oil change was completed, I was quoted over $500 of possible extra work that they said I needed, but I said I would consider that for another day and just wanted to pay for my oil change. Their credit card machine wasn't working, and I waited at the counter for about 20 minutes while the employee tried to get the machine working with customer service, to no avail. The employee then asked me to go to the bank to get cash to pay for my oil change, which wasn't ideal considering how long I'd already waited, but they directed me to a nearby branch where I could go to get cash. I walked out to my car to head to the bank and realized I didn't have my keys yet; when I approached the employee to ask for them so that I could go to the bank, she told me a mechanic would drive me to the bank in her vehicle. I explained that I was not at all comfortable with that given COVID concerns, and asked for her to please give me my keys so that I could go get the cash. She said she would not give me my keys until I had paid for the oil change, so I had no choice but to walk to the bank, get cash, and return to pay to get my keys. I had waited patiently for 20 minutes in good faith while they tried to fix their broken credit card system, and that same good faith was not extended to me when I said I would go out of my way to get cash. I'm relieved that I didn't agree to any additional work, but they continued to take in other customers without seeming to inform anyone that their credit card machines weren't working. Very disappointing to receive such terrible treatment as a customer after a promising start to my visit. I will not return. read more

I'm a usual returning customer. I recently purchased a new vehicle, I went to get a regular oil change. I was greeted by a NEW STORE MANAGER XAVIER. I asked for a oil change. As he checking my information in the database he asked which car, Jeep Liberty or Maxima? I explained this is a new vehicle. He proceed to say he need the VIN number and license plates number he walks out the store to the vehicle in which he took pictures with his phone. He walks back in the phone ring, he answered I'm still standing there waiting to finish the process to start my oil change. He's talking on the phone to a customer about tires & breaks they conversation continue for over 5mins. As he end the conversation he ask me what kind of oil change I want? I replied the regular oil change. He said the price was $24.99 for the oil change plus disposal fee. I replied I have a coupon from the Midas app. He told me it has to be printed out. I asked if he can print it? Xavier told me I'm not wasting my printer paper for you no coupon, smh. I didn't respond. I've never heard such a thing. Long as I have a coupon you can put the number in. He move forward to print a receipt for $24.99 oil plus the disposal fee, then says to me looking me in my face I'm surprised you haven't got a ticket or pulled over due to me not having a front plate on the vehicle. I told him I just purchased and recently got the car registered I need something to put the plate on. He said again, I'm just surprised you didn't get pulled over cause the distance I've driven. My response was can you put it on? He told me to take car back where I bought it. I said why would I do that? Just to put a plate on that's a simple fix I just need a screwdriver he told me he can't help me and refused my service. I asked him his name and asked for corporate number cause his service and remarks was not professional from beginning to end. I seen the guy (Marco) working on a vehicle through the glass. I asked Xavier if I can speak to him he refused to get him and respond I'm refusing service and instructed I leave the store. I heard good things about this Midas from a friend, so I visited after work -- about 45 minutes before their closing time and asked about an AC recharge service. The mechanics were all very friendly and helpful; said they'd be happy to do it, but directed me to the manager to inquire about pricing. The manager was calmly eating a granola bar and didn't seem too interested in my business at the end of the workday. He quoted me at $200 for an AC recharge. I knew even Jiffy Lube did them for around a hundred bucks, so I said that seemed a bit high, but he didn't budge, so I said I would wait. I later did it myself for under $50 with a kit, but I sure won't be bringing my car back here to empty my wallet on basic procedures. read more

I absolutely love this place!!! The mechanics are extremely helpful and go out of there way to assist. They have taken great car of my vehicle every time I bring it in. Always giving me helpful tips in order to keep my car in good condition. I can always trust that they will get the job done right. My Jeep is 12 years old and is running smoothly to this day thanks to their help. I was having trouble passing the admissions test and these guys fixed the problem in no time!
