I am pleasantly surprised at the efficiency and professionalism this establishment provided. I called the shop around 9:00am and was instructed to bring in my vehicle for diagnostics. I had a terrible clanking sound coming from the right rear whenever I went above 20mph. I thought it was possibly the ball bearings or sway links. I checked for my catalytic converter too but it was still intact. They were able to find the culprit after a quick test drive. It turns out my shock cracked. They quoted me a very reasonable price and managed to get me back on the road in less than two hours. If you're searching for an honest mechanic, look no further than Sanchez Auto Service. I have an out-of-town trip coming and my air-conditioner in my 2106 Nissan Maxima started blowing hot air. Called one dealership and they quoted me $170 just to inspect it and they couldn't get me in until Thursday morning. Second dealership would take me right away, but $200 to inspect and $30 to charge the unit if that's all it needed (if there were no leaks). Pulled up at Sanchez Auto Service And they checked for leaks for free and charged the system for $80. I was in and out in 15 minutes. They stopped working on another car to take care of this for me. Love this place. Ive come multiple times here for my 2008 Honda Ridgeline and I end up saving hundreds of dollars. No fees for your preliminary inspection before they complete the work and they don't give you that mechanic talk that makes you uncomfortable. Straight forward and I couldn't ask for more. My truck will always come here for all under-the-hood work as I trust them unconditionally. Highly recommend coming here before any other place. I had a AC Compressor issue that 4 other companies quoted 650+ for while Sanchez got it done for just under 450. And the AC lasted well and to this day works flawlessly. Not to mention they several other services I had done there. A note worth adding is (at least at the time of this being written) they are a Cash Only business. And they are able to complete a wide range of work, however not everything. I asked if they could do a differential and they had told me they couldn't. Regardless I strongly advise you to use their services. But before you go anywhere else you need to come here. Good people. Good work. And fantastic services. I've been here a couple times this year for basic check engine issues on my 2006 Toyota RAV4. It's an Old School neighborhood auto repair shop in that there's nothing fancy about it and in a residential neighborhood with a coupe food mechanics to service your needs. So a couple days ago my car stalled in a parking lot in Bucktown, I called Sanchez first to see if I can get AAA to drive it over and they asked a few questions about the problem and then told me to bring it over. Turns out it was the Starter. Their pricing was really fair and they are always quick to get your car in and out on the same day and in this case I was able to get the car back in a couple hours. The guys here are honest with their assessment of the repairs and fair with their prices. I suggest you call first this way they know you're coming. I went once to get a slow leak fixed and it turns out they don't fix tires so he sent me over to another guy in the area and I got it taken care of. This is kind of my Go-to Mechanic now and I fell a sense security knowing I have a place to go when I need it because my car isn't getting any younger! read more

Either Racist or Sexist....or both....I've lived in the neighborhood over 40 yrs and decided I would go local considering the struggle of Covid. Took my car by the shop son looked at it. Marcos kept going talking to his father asking him questions, Marcos was very nice to me...father came over and looked at it then told Marcos in Spanish the price and walked away...Marcos told me the price I agreed and to come back next day and I did, but when I got there father said he was "really" busy bring it Saturday at 8am. Mind you 1 car he was charging battery...Got there at 745 and didn't see Marcos or father. Called the number the father answered and I told him you told me to come at 8am..He said which car? I said what my car looked like and he said "I'm very busy bring it back in 3 hrs...now mind you I'm sitting right outside his shop. So I told him I'm here already...he said give him 5 minutes....He comes out with an attitude looks at my car and walks away...A few mins later he comes out and motions to pull it in, lifts the hood and says "I'm very busy, 5 hrs" and walks away...I sat there for about 30 seconds and realized that he doesn't want to fix my car for some reason. So I asked one of the other guys to put my hood down and I pulled out and left. Now I never met this man so I can only draw another conclusion. I am blown away because I have never experienced this type of behavior in a neighborhood that I have lived in over 40yrs. I'm hurt because my intentions were good but because of who I am they were not received. read more
