Had a fantastic experience with Jerry on the sales floor and Jack in the financial office. This was my first car purchase, so I did my research and visited/contacted a bunch of dealers, and I went with Car Pros because Jerry was both attentive and honest when I spoke with him. He was immediately willing to cut through the typical pageantry of car dealerships, which I appreciated. I was willing to walk away if I sensed anything sneaky, but I was satisified that Jerry was trying to be as real and helpful with me as possible. Jack in the financial office was also great to talk to. He was a calm, warm guy and very patient about making sure I understood the numbers and options. We took quite a bit of time (from me asking a lot of questions and reading everything over), but he was gracious the whole way through and never pushy about selling aside from explaining things to me. All in all, my experience here as a buyer was better than I could have hoped for after all the research I did about shady dealer tactics. (But definitely still do your research!) I definitely recommend Jerry and Jack to everyone, and I would come back if I needed another Honda! read more

Scammers! I called the dealership to see if they do pre-purchase inspections on used Hondas, and was told they do. I specifically asked if they test the voltage / health on hybrid batteries, and they said they do. So I scheduled an appointment for the next day and had a used car owner bring their car in for the PPI. I did get a video from the dealership text messaged to me showing me the status of the fluids, air filters, and undercarriage. Really, the only value there was the video of the undercarriage as I could have checked everything else myself. I then was shown the paperwork by the owner of the vehicle with some codes that came up, and when I asked the tech about the codes and what they meant before looking them up online, I was told they don't normally run codes with "this type of inspection, and if I wanted more information, I'd have to pay for another hour." ($290 an hour) The owner of the vehicle was told they can't check the hybrid battery health when he asked as I was texting back and forth with him keeping him informed of what was going on the whole time. The person in the service department I talked with was short, rude, and kept cutting me off. After asking to speak with the manager, the service manager was condensing, rude, and also cut me off. He said he would call me back as I was promised to have the hybrid battery health checked and it wasn't done, and he was also saying that the kind of inspection I got didn't include code checks, or a hybrid battery check, but he would look into the situation. He said it would take him 15 minutes. I waited an hour and called back, and there was no answer. I called the sales department as I knew someone there would pick up. When I asked to be transferred to the service manages voicemail, I got stonewalled and was told by the person on the phone "I'm just a product specialist." I reiterated I needed to be transferred to the service managers voicemail and finally was. The lack of accountability at this dealership is why people don't trust car salesman or mechanics. Make sure you get everything in writing ahead of time. I would not do business with this dealership for any sales or service. Sad. read more

Extremely frustrating experience here. I purchased my car just over 30 days ago and already had issues with the tire pressure light. When I took it in, I was told my tire couldn't be repaired and was quoted $280, so I went elsewhere. That's when I found out my wheel lock key was missing. I called the dealership and was told they had it, so I drove back, only to be told they didn't. The assistant manager, Marlin, was completely unhelpful, said he was "too busy," and even told me to "come back on Monday." I couldn't even get my tire replaced without that. After 20-30 minutes, they finally gave me a wheel lock, but only after a lot of unnecessary stress and wasted time. I've lived 5 minutes away from Car Pros El Monte my entire life, in 2019 I purchased my first Honda at Ocean Honda of WHITTIER and had avoided this location because of its reputation. I am extremely disappointed with my experience after purchasing a 2024 Honda Prologue from this dealership. I was told the vehicle qualified for the federal EV tax credit, but the dealership failed to properly handle the required IRS time-of-sale report. Because of that, I have spent months trying to fix an issue that should have been handled correctly from the beginning. What made this even worse was how unprofessionally the dealership handled my attempts to resolve it. I was repeatedly blown off. My calls were placed on hold, I was transferred to the service department even though this was a sales and finance issue, and when I went in person, I was told they were "working on it" but then no one would follow up with me. I kept having to chase them for updates and got little to no real communication in return. At this point, their lack of follow-through may cost me $7,500. The most frustrating part is the complete lack of accountability. Once the sale was done, getting this corrected became my problem instead of theirs. This has been one of the most unprofessional dealership experiences I've had. I called and scheduled for a service. I explained what was happening and was able to squeeze me in on a Sunday morning. They told me to block out 2 hours of my day, so I could prepare to keep myself occupied for 2 hours. As days passed, I realized there was more I would like for the dealership to take a look at. So I called back and informed them of more issues and they said to show up on Sunday and tell them. I showed up, 30 minutes before my appointment and they said that I would need to leave my car so the techs would be able to take a better look at it and it probably wont be ready until Wednesday at the earliest. He didnt have anyone else available for the short operating day they had. My main issue was resolved within 5 minutes and the gentleman who helped me was extremely friendly and I was out of there before my appointment even began. I couldn't leave my car over the weekend because I needed it for other things. They sold me the car with warranty saying that I'd be able to get my car serviced with them for free, when I had an issue with the cars sensors they "couldn't find the problem" and told me nothing was wrong with it but as soon as that warranty was up they were real quick to solve and try to charge me to fix the problem. Literally go to any other Honda dealership, I've gone to other locations to service my car since and didn't have any issues with them. I was simply left sitting there in the heat with no communication. Thankfully, Raul stepped in. He immediately treated me with kindness and professionalism. He offered me a bottle of water because he noticed how long I'd been waiting in the heat, listened to my concerns, and resolved my issue within minutes. Raul provided the level of customer service every employee at this dealership should strive for. This review is one star because basic customer service starts with acknowledging your customers. No one expects immediate service when it's busy, but everyone deserves to be greeted, informed of the wait, and made to feel seen. I brought my Honda Accord to Car Pros Honda for a recall service and had an extremely disappointing experience with my service advisor, Rudy. From the beginning, Rudy came across as rude and dismissive toward my family. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was that he appeared noticeably friendlier and more attentive to several non-Asian customers around us, while treating us with far less courtesy and respect. Although I cannot know his intentions, the difference in treatment made us feel unwelcome and singled out as Asian customers. Rudy told us the recall would take 2-3 hours. After waiting over 4 hours, we had received no updates whatsoever. We later learned that he had gone on his lunch break without informing us of the status of our vehicle. We then waited nearly 2 more hours since Rudy was on his "lunch break" before receiving any meaningful assistance, and throughout that time Rudy never acknowledged us or apologized for the delay. To make matters worse, Rudy informed us that there was an oil leak from the head gasket that would cost several hundred dollars to repair. However, another service representative reviewed the issue and informed us that it was actually covered under warranty and could be repaired at no cost. This raised serious concerns about the accuracy of the information we were given. It felt like Rudy was trying to scam us. As customers who have purchased 4 vehicles from Car Pros Honda, we expected professionalism, honesty, and basic respect. Instead, we experienced poor communication, excessive wait times, conflicting information, and treatment that made us feel uncomfortable and undervalued. Beware of bait-and-switch financing tactics! I bought a 2024 used Pilot from Car Pros El Monte and ended up receiving a car infested with roaches. You read that right. After they exterminated the car 4 times, they offered an exchange and rebait with a pretty good interest rate, so I bought a new 2025 Pilot from them and changed financing from my credit union to Honda financing. But my experience didn't stop there. Now, 34 days later, came the bait-and-switch in financing. I was contacted to say that "financing changed, and to resolve it, we can move you to a new Honda loan with double the interest rate." I was NOT going to fall for that trap, so Car Pros came and took the car back at 8 pm on a Friday. I now hope to get my large deposit transmitted back within 48 hours. It's been 2 nightmares buying a car from Car Pros El Monte. BTW, as a consumer in CA, the law only allows 10 days to work through financing, so at day 34, it's breaking a binding contract. read more

Horrible Experience Sold a Faulty Car & Refused to Take Responsibility My name is Karina. In 2022, my mom and I purchased a 2019 Honda Accord from Honda. We were helped by a salesman named Chris. We originally wanted to look at two vehicles, but we felt pressured into choosing the Accord. During the purchase, we were told to come back in a few years and they'd help us upgrade to a newer Honda which now feels like empty promises. Less than two weeks after buying the car, it began malfunctioning. All dashboard warning lights turned on, and we took it in for service. Honda kept the car for two weeks. After getting it back, the same issue happened again within one week. We returned the car and asked for a replacement because it was clearly unreliable, but Honda refused to change the vehicle and insisted they would "fix it." We gave them another chance they kept the car for another 1-2 weeks. Yet again, not even a week later, the car broke down while I was driving to work. The brakes nearly failed, creating a dangerous and terrifying situation. At that point, it was clear this car was unsafe. We returned to Honda once more and explained that we had never been able to enjoy this car due to constant mechanical failures. My mom even mentioned getting a lawyer. We were then helped by someone in service named Mike, and Honda kept the car for an entire month. Now, 60,000 miles later, the EXACT SAME PROBLEM is back. This proves Honda never fixed the root issue they only applied temporary repairs to get us out the door. Honda sold us a faulty vehicle, refused to replace it, and continues to avoid accountability. Instead of taking responsibility, a representative named Sayapa blamed us, saying it's our fault because the car was used. That response was disrespectful, dismissive, and unacceptable, especially considering Honda is the one who sold us the defective car. This has been a frustrating, stressful, and unsafe experience. I did not know about how the extended car warranty worked. The car warranty should've extend from the time the original car warranty ends. Not start on the date of purchase new vehicle, where the years would be unused since it is already covered from original car warrenty of 3yr/36k miles. Thus I learned how I wasted 3 years of my 7 year extension warrenty contract since it doesnt start until after the factory honda warrenty ends. The warranty started at the same time. This was an expensive lesson and I hope it doesnt happen to anyone else. Perhaps if the terms were clearer I wouldnt have been sold on it. It is also partially my fault for not asking prior to signing so this is a 1st time car purchaser experience mistake. Make informed decisions and decline extended warranties for your new cars, otherwise get them later on before your original car warranty ends was the lesson learned. It has now been over two months, and I still have not received my key. My recent attempts to follow up have been ignored completely. He is also good at communicating with you a rough estimate on how long your service will take, but problems can happen sometimes and he will communicate that with you in a very friendly, timely, and professional manner, rather than keep you waiting in the dark. He also provides you with the best options, whether it be pricing or which service needs to be prioritized because sometimes you go in for an oil change and it's not just an oil change that you need. We recently bought a new Honda Odyssey. The process from start to finish at this location was seamless. Prior to visiting this location, I had seen that they had the most inventory online with the trim, exterior and interior color I wanted, which was already a huge plus as it had been hard to find anywhere else. We went down one week to ensure the car(s) were physically on site. We were greeted by a Sales Associate who took us to the car where we were able to see the inside. We then just wanted to ask a few questions about the associate introduced us to Sam. He had a great personality and answered all of our questions that day. We had to get some finance items in order, but we kept communication with him throughout the next week and a half - Sam was always very responsive. We came back to test drive and purchase the car. Be cautious if you're planning to buy from this dealership. Prices are marked up significantly, and when we tried to negotiate, we were told it's because "they need to make money" -- with little to no flexibility. They also tried to upsell us on installing LoJack, even though it was completely unnecessary for the car we were purchasing. It felt like an aggressive attempt to squeeze out more profit rather than provide actual value. Our biggest issue, however, was with the sales manager, Adrian. Throughout the process, he was unprofessional: aggressively typing on the keyboard, rushing us to sign paperwork, and failing to explain important details. We repeatedly asked if everything was correct, and he kept saying, "Yes, I double-checked everything." Unfortunately, that turned out to be false. Adrian made a mistake in the paperwork, which I only discovered when I went to pay off the car. Instead of contacting me immediately, he waited four days and then told us we needed to come back and re-sign after I already arrived to pay the car off. When we returned, he refused to admit his error and blamed the computer--even though he had previously claimed everything was checked. We ended up filing a complaint with the general manager, who acknowledged that Adrian did make a mistake and admitted this situation should never have happened. The manager was nice enough to offer us gas compensation, so we are grateful for that. Very disappointing experience from a dealership with such high ratings.
