THEY WRECKED MY CAR! They were supposed to swap a transmission and additional parts (clutch, bearings, pressure plate and so many more) and they wrecked my car on a test drive. They hit something and the wheel went into the fender, tearing up the suspension, brake, and damage to the fender and front bumper. When I spoke to the technicians they all told me different stories on what happened. The owner is a liar (he said a ball joint broke and it caused the wheel to get into the fender while it was on the lift) and replaced the broken parts with the cheapest parts that they could find. He complained because my performance parts that they damaged were too expensive and bought the cheapest crap that now needs to be replaced. They "fixed" everything that was broken and He (the owner) told me it was running great. Picked the car up and it limped home, barely ran. Took it back and they were supposed to replace the transmission they put in with my old one because the one they put in was "bad", even though it wasn't. Went to get the car again after the owner told me it was running great. I go to pick it up and I requested that the owner rides with me. Sure enough, the car drove like shit. Goes back to the shop because "my original transmission is now bad." If you are keeping count, this is now two "bad transmissions." When I finally pick the car up, it drove like garbage. The tech that worked on my car said that they just didn't want to mess with my car anymore and never took the transmission out. This is verified because I paid close attention to the short throw shifter that was installed. I confronted the owner after the second test drive with him in the car and he repeatedly lied over and over, and then had the audacity to ask me for payment. Part two: When I originally took the car there, I had a bunch of parts that they were supposed to install, including detailed instructions on what to do. After I finally got the car back home, they didn't install half of the parts that they were supposed too. On top of that, my tan interior, including the headliner, is stained with greasy hand prints. They car came back home completely in disarray. They interior pieces where never put back together, hood upright is broken, headlight assembly is broken, front end is janky, the list goes on and on. I got my tires busted open after driving over a monster pothole. I had never had my tires fixed out of state before but Car Tech absolutely took care of everything for a good price. they didn't up charge me, and were patient with me as I couldn't pick up my vehicle right away. couldn't recommend them enough!!! read more

i would give this place zero stars if i could. I dropped my car off on a Tuesday and was told it would be looked at and I would receive a call by Friday. I never received a call and so I called them on the following Monday morning. My car had still not been looked at. I was guaranteed over the phone that it would be looked at on Tuesday so I called on Tuesday. They had still not looked at my car. I called Wednesday. They had still not looked at my car. Finally, on Thursday I was able to pick up my car only to discover that my sunvisor is broken. I called to ask about this and she said somebody would call me back. They never did so I went back to the shop and asked someone to look at it. The man was very rude, looked at it and said that there's no way they broke it, that the visors just break by themselves. he refused to do anything to fix it. Clearly, this place does not value the satisfaction of the customer, they are not willing to accommodate, and they are not efficient or true their word. I will not be returning. read more

I prefer having repairs done at a private business as opposed to a dealership. I have a 2011 DTS Cadillac which had developed some engine oil leaks. On this particular car, repairs to engine oils leaks are a major issue and my Broad Ripple mechanic recommended Car Tech for the repairs as they specialize effecting these repairs. I am beyond pleased with the work that they've done and highly recommend them for any work that you may need to be done! First class business using the best materials and reasonable prices! Hello this is my story of car tech. I had went there to get a new engine for my Buick Verano. They told me I needed a new engine for $7,268.76 and it no oil in it . They told me when I got there again they told me to put oil in it . I went to look at my bill $76 and 5$ for the filter. They didn't end up giving me any compensation for nothing. Then 4 days later here comes a engine check light that they told me I needed an air or something sensor and they didn't include it with my engine. 219$ more so I went to another mechanic 80$ for everything . 4weeks total without my car no compensation. Pretty sad how they do the elderly. And they are having me check my oil every 500 miles which was never a problem before. (Reply to ur reply) I had just had an oil change a month before I brought it to you I went there for the timing chain and the oil was also checked before the oil change I had a month prior . It was towed over to you guys and they still made me pay for an oil change which I'm perfectly fine with . But there was no oil hardly in the new engine making my check eng light also go off.I am 72 years old I don't wanna check my oil regularly when I fill up . Ridiculous. This is not a good place to do business. And you said your sorry for the bad experience but no actions have been done to feel as such. read more

Car Tech came highly recommended by a good friend of mine, who was a new car dealer in Indianapolis for many years. Sadly, the outcome was less than satisfactory. I took my 1965 Cadillac there in late February or early March. This was my first car, and I have owned it since 1989. Several items required attention. The ignition switch/ tumbler and the light switch needed replacement. The power windows and interior lights were not functioning correctly. The windows themselves required adjustment to operate and seal properly. The steering wheel was cracked and needed to be restored. There were running issues involving timing and the installation of new points and condenser. The transmission had a late shift, and the right front brake grabbed. To expedite the work, I provided the facility with the factory shop and body manuals, as well as relevant issues of the Cadillac Serviceman. I agreed to obtain any needed parts, as requested. A decent mechanic working diligently should have been able to complete the required work in less than a month. Some unexpected issues had to be resolved. The transmission needed to be rebuilt due to water infiltration via the cooler lines, thanks to a leaky radiator core. The additional $1,000 was reasonable in today's market. The brake issue turned out to be suspension related instead. The Cadillac was finally returned to me on August 6 with a $4,000 bill. We traveled 15 miles north on I-465 before it bogged down, backfired, stalled and refused to start, stranding me near I-69. It has taken over three months to locate another shop that I am willing to entrust with getting it running correctly and completing the work left undone by Car Tech. My concerns are threefold. First, the time to complete the repairs was unacceptable. Even with having to order parts, this should have taken no more than a month, six weeks at most. The transmission was an unforeseen problem, but it sat disassembled on a workbench for several weeks. I have limited mechanical abilities, but I rebuilt that very transmission in a little over a week in 1997. The shop claimed that the reason it took so long is that they only had one guy who could work on older cars. Having tinkered with this car for 30 years, I know that working on a mid-'60s Cadillac is not rocket science. My second concern is the quality of the repairs. There is no reason that a car with a rebuilt engine with 150 miles on it, a rebuilt transmission, and a properly functioning ignition system should stall out after only 15 miles. The windows are still not right. I am $4,000 poorer and no closer to getting this project completed than I was nine months ago. Finally, there are several chips in the paint that were not there in March. This, too, is unacceptable. This review is not posted in malice. It is merely a retelling of events as they happened. I shall not use Car Tech again, and if asked, will not recommend them to other Cadillac owners. read more

Some of the best customer service I've had at any business. They had me in the same day, compared to other shops scheduling months out. Everyone was kind and eager to help with any concerns. They worked quickly to get the parts ordered and me back on the road. Sadly attention to detail wasn't the best. Body panels aren't aligned. Between sticking out and a huge gap on one side compared to the other side being pinched together. Had to bring the vehicle back because of a chip in the paint. They kept it longer than the initial repair took and was not done up to their previous standard. read more

I am so glad I finally discovered Car Tech. They have been in business for 20 years but I just became aware of them last fall. I'm so glad I did. I had my first accident 2 weeks ago. I visited a couple of places regarding repairs. One quoted me a 2 week turn time and wanted me to pay for the parts up front. Car Tech was able to complete the work in just 5 days and they began the work prior to receiving my insurance check. Jack even let me borrow his truck while he was working on my car because I didn't have rental coverage. That's customer service! I am beyond happy with their service!! I needed a few things repaired on my engine as well as my wheel bearing replaced, but I told them to hold off on the wheel bearing as I couldn't afford it at the moment... They ended up actually replacing it, but for a fraction of what they said it'd originally cost me. They also replaced a few belts for no charge that weren't on the initial diagnostic bill. I took my car in to have a miss and rough start up diagnosed. They said it was a bad O2 sensor and blown head gaskets. It has none of the symptoms of a blown head gasket. So my husband researched it. He did the fool-proof test for blown head gaskets. It showed they were fine. When he called Car Tech, they told him that brand was faulty. My husband then bought the one they use. He ran the test 4 times. The head gasket is definitely not blown. He replaced the O2 sensor. The miss is gone. The rough start up is gone. Car Tech said that fixing the O2 sensor wouldn't fix those problems. They were wrong. So my husband calls them again this morning to suggest they check their equipment. He wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. They immediately got defensive. They attacked my husband's knowledge. (My husband is the one our friends come to when they have vehicle problems. He also has a pro-level diagnostic computer.) My husband was only going to ask for part of the diagnosis fee back since most of their diagnosis was wrong. (The repair bill was $5500 to replace the head gaskets.) At this point, he was speaking with the owner -- who was very rude and extremely defensive. They sell a handful of vehicles on their lot. Their misdiagnosis is for one of four reasons. 1. They don't properly clean their testing equipment (cross-contamination). 2. They couldn't figure it out and picked one of the few things my husband hadn't checked/fixed/replaced. 3. They tried to scam us for a large, unneeded repair. 4. They wanted my car to sell for a profit. read more

Took my classic Cougar here for some body damage caused a blown tire. The car looks GREAT, can't even tell where the damage was(right rear quarter panel). Bryan, the mechanic who fixed it, went the extra mile in making sure it look right. Only minor complaint was that it took longer to fix then he had estimated. But the final result was worth it. dropped my vehicle off on a Wednesday requested an oil change and to service an oil leak and to check suspension. requested to have it finished so i could pick it up Monday 8am. requested that i get a call from car tech once issues are diagnosed and w/ estimate, never got a call with any information. I call Monday morning 8am and they said they haven't even done any work. Long story short, they had it for 5 total days and couldn't have it ready when agreed to, let alone zero phone call. I pick vehicle up get home (no work done to it) only to find my engine cover in the back of the SUV. they never put that back on before giving it back. I call and the tech says, I didn't know it was off... and also he said he didn't know I had arranged to have work done and pick up monday at 8am. doesn't seem to take responsibility at all for any of this and says "what am i supposed to do" ... wow. after spending several thousand dollars with them on my own vehicles and referring a $2500 job to them this is my treatment. read more
