This place is a fair and honest place to get your car diagnosed. We took my car in not knowing what was wrong with it and they were quick, transparent, and really nice about how to get to a solution. They didn't pressure us to go ahead with the service and were willing to explain the approach that they were going to take. Although I didn't end up getting my car fixed here, I would definitely take it back in the future just because of the nice service. Last week I brought my car in because of three warning lights. One they said they couldn't fix (back-up camera), the second (tire pressure) they passed on, and the third (brake pad sensor) should be replaced. They also told me that all lug nuts should be replaced 5/wheel, 20 total. I agreed to replace the brake sensor and lugs. They told me the lug nuts would be over $300 (that's $15/nut), but I m a senior and can't do the work. Today I brought the car in to get the work done. I told the service guy twice that I had to have the car at the end of the day and he agreed. I never heard anything from him. Finally I called but couldn't get through and left a message. I recently had an issue with my transmission on my car. I took it to a couple of places and was quoted anywhere from $3000-$4300!! I know quite a bit about cars and tried to discuss options but they were dead set that the repairs had to done. I did some more research and found ASG automotive. Took it here in 2017 after my dad recommended them. I needed a rebuilt engine. After an extensive repair the work was done and truck was running. Fast forward to May 2019 and my timing belt snapped on the highway. Asked about the 48 mo/48k mi warranty and was told it's only on new gasket parts they installed not the problem at hand which would be part of the rebuilt engine they installed. The warranty says what's in pic. I guess they leave it vague to pick and choose what's covered. I feel like I was ripped off and have been inconvenienced 2x now for a costly repair. My son's car was overheating and the power steering was out. Made an appointment with ASG. They diagnosed the issue and called me a few days later to let me know how much the repair cost. They stated they had to make the repair in order to test the car to see if there were any other issues which could have meant even more money out of pocket. Luckily after the initial repairs were completed and test were done there were no other issues with my son's car. My son stated his car was running great. Like the engine was "boosted". Another reason why people don't trust mechanics... After already diagnosing my car with a bad alternator, I dropped the car off Wednesday near closing. Today, Monday, they diagnosed a bad alternator, just like I already had. I got a quote which included alternator, belt (hello - if you take off the alternator, the belt comes off), rear light over license plate, brake fluid change, coolant change) for $1900+. I asked what just the alternator was, $1,200+. Now, if you search alternator prices for this vehicle, they range from $200 - a little over $300. I found a - new - Motorcraft alternator for under $300 on Amazon - sold by Amazon, not a third party - with no core fee (usually around $100). When they said the alternator was $500, I told them of this, then I was told it must be remanufactured. But, I said, even if it was $500, why would the labor be $700 for a 2-3 hour job. I get that mechanics don't sell parts at their cost, but a possible $200 markup on a $300 item is pretty freaking nuts in my book. In the end, I paid $146 dollars to be told I had a bad alternator, which I knew, and besides testing the PCM, which I would have been fine with paying something for, I paid essentially to be told what I already knew - and - for them to find ways to sucker the uninformed. I took the car elsewhere. I really wondered why, when I got to this place, the people were so polished for a local mechanic. I mean, the service "advisors", they really are better than at a dealership. They are overly polished in their pitch, their phone skills, etc. They should be selling timeshares or caskets. read more

Took my car in today to get my windshield wiper sprayers fixed. They checked my whole car and discovered my battery was low plus the plastic cover was cracked, so they saved us from our battery dying on us while we out and needing to get towed somewhere! I had both things fixed and they were able to get it done by 3:30pm after I dropped it off at 9am. Very professional, no pressure to do anything else, plus they were able to drive me home and pick me up. They also provide a full list of everything they check, the condition, and include photos of anything of concern, on top of a 4 year warranty on their work. ASG= #amazing! I had a problem with my key fob to my Infinity today. I figured I could just use the hard key - except that doing so triggered the car alarm. With a quick phone call to ASG, I was told to drive on in. Scott and Alex immediately addressed the problem. Alex was able to save my key fob, and had me driving again within a few minutes. - and the cool part? They declined to charge me. A stressful event was resolved with amazing kindness, humor, and stellar service. I should state that my husband has been a loyal customer for the past six years. (Bringing our Honda Accord, CRV's, and Infinity in to ASG) In all instances, he has been so pleased with the service and fees. I know this business has several excellent ratings. However, I have taken my older Toyota pickup there several times over the last year and have not been happy with the results. I continued to return there because the issues I was experiencing was related to previous work so should have been covered under warranty. Each time they covered their previous work, but mange to find several more issues. After spending over 9k on repairs with them I have decided to never return. I believe they over charge for repairs and in some instances will suspiciously find other things to fix at an exorbitant price. I do not recommend this establishment and I would be very careful when taking your vehicle there for repairs. read more

I love this place. They tell you exactly what you need and when you'll need it. I went in to get an oil change and to find out why my dashboard brake light was illuminated. They could've talked me into changing the brake pads, paying to flush the brake fluid, but instead topped off my brake fluid for free. I went in thinking I was going to leave broke and instead left with fresh oil and fresh brake fluid for about $20. Also, they have the best break room. TV equipped with Netflix, computer with internet, fridge with complimentary Coke products and a Keurig. This is nowhere near where I live or work but I will take my car here above anywhere else in the city. read more

You know the saying you get what you pay for. That's a perfect description for this place. After a full inspection, due to my engine light coming on, I was provided a detail of all the findings. The details provided priorities of the work that needed to be done with a clear expectation of the potential risks. The findings showed that my vehicle had things that had to be done things, that could be done and things that don't need to be done right now. On top of the excellent detailed communication I received, they were also willing to drive me across town to get to work while they completed the inspection. While it was more than I expected to fix my vehicle, the quality of work gets two thumbs up. read more

I took my vehicle here after seeing the great reviews. The diagnostic they complete on your car is very thorough and goes through things most automotive shops don't care to mention. I for example found out my muffler is hanging on by a bunjee cord (yay for me!). They also provide photos of what they find, which leaves you with an ease of mind. ASG did an oil change, diagnostic, and checked for an oil leak on my vehicle. Throughout the process they stayed in contact with me. This place is amazing! I had a cracked rim and needed to get it fixed. They were able to complete the repair in one day when other auto shops told me that the repair would take 2-3 days and I would have to leave my vehicle with them for those days. I am so happy I stumbled across ASG. I called and they were able to schedule my appointment for the following day. Their complimentary shuttle service was such a convenient amenity and it allowed me to drop the car off but still make it to work and back to the shop when the work was complete! ASG charged me $120 to change the oil in my Mercedes. ASG used the wrong sized crush ring, so it leaked in less than 100 miles of driving. I called ASG and mentioned wrong sized ring and oil leak; they said "the tech must have grabbed the wrong one." For a $120 oil change, I hope we are not just "grabbing" things. Overall, the scheduled service for my Mercedes was $1200, which was more than the Mercedes dealer quoted me later, but I had ASG do the service since the car was there. Watch their pricing. ASG tried to oversell my scheduled maintenance for my Land Rover; ASG stated it would be $1600. The dealer only wanted $490. There was a discrepancy in what service was needed. Once I got an identical quote, ASG was still 35% higher than the Land Rover dealer. I challenged ASG and they matched the price of the dealer, but I had to threaten to pick up the car and decline service to get them to match the dealer price. Price is always a fight. I'm not cheap, but I have a problem paying dealer pricing while I am not at the dealer. Also regarding my Land Rover originally was there to diagnose check engine. To repair the check engine matter, I was quoted the repair and approved the price on the service for check engine issue. An hour later I was told the price was going up over 20% because they had to switch brand of parts. It turns out their supplier thought they had faulty parts for the initial price, so ASG had to source the part from the dealership. I guess I should have just taken the car to the dealership. On the Land Rover service, they did not bother to reset my service indicator, so my Land Rover still thinks it needs service and reminds me. That was kind of irritating. Neither time did they wash my cars. Most garages I have been to wash my cars, especially when I had $1,200 and $1,600 service. They are nice people, but no way would I return. read more

Update: We spoke with Alex the shop foremen over the weekend. ASG agreed to cover the cost to replace the broken window. We received the money to fix it today, from Scott. Pros: They know a lot about European cars. Our car starts now. Cons: Our car was vandalized on their lot and they don't care. We left our Land Rover with ACS to have it repaired because it wouldn't start. Over the course of the time it was in their possession, our left rear quarter panel glass was broken. They "reviewed" their security footage and said they never saw anyone go near it. Our service advisor's best guess is that it was shot with a BB gun from across the street. Our service advisor told us they WOULD NOT do anything about it anyway unless it could be proven that one of their employees caused the damage. I thought that garage keeper's liability laws covered this, placing responsibility for the care of customer vehicles on mechanic shops. But, ACS doesn't seem to care about that. Now, unless we can get them to reimburse us, we are out the starting repair costs (which were fair and we have no problem with), along with glass repairs caused by vandals while our car was in their care (which we DO have a problem with). read more

I normally don't bash places on the internet but after all the money I've spent, I'm pissed. I took my car to ASG because my car was smelling like eggs. They told me to use different gas when I fill up and it cost $60. Did this a few times, it still smelled like eggs so I took it back. They drove my car around and still told me to use different gas. Charged me $60 and I had to refill my tank. I finally gave up and took my car to the dealership. There was a crack in my engine and had to replace it because everything was leaking into my engine and if I'd just had my car checked when it first started smelling it wouldn't have gotten this bad. I had an inspection performed on a pre-owned vehicle I was considering for purchase. They were able to get me an appointment for the inspection very quickly and did an extremely thorough examination of the car. The findings of the inspection were presented to me in an objective fashion, meaning they didn't try to persuade or dissuade me from the purchase - it was "just the facts, ma'am" and I greatly appreciated that. The waiting area was clean and quiet and the workers friendly and professional. There were a couple of issues with the car and Coire did some quick research to give me a ballpark idea of how much the repair would cost. Would definitely recommend this business! read more

Had an oil change and coolant overflow tank replacement. I brought the brand new tank with me so that wasn't part of the price. 2 hoses and a sensor were hooked to this, that's it! The 2 hoses pull right off once you take the clips off of them. The sensor twists off just like a light bulb for headlights. 10 minutes work at most for a professional. I was charged $300. Oil changes for BMW's cost a little more, I understand. About $120 or so. So I was basically charged $170-$180 for 10 minutes labor and a gallon of coolant. Well, now heat no longer comes out of my vents. So they schedule me another "appointment" a few days later to trouble shoot. I get there at 9am on the dot like I was supposed to and planned on waiting a couple hours to figure out what seemed like a fairly simple fix. I get there and he offers me a rental. So what exactly is the point of scheduling me an appointment, which theoretically is time set aside dedicated to my car, if you aren't going to tend to it at this time. I work evenings and live about 25 minutes away, this wasn't exactly easy making this time slot. They already got me for $300 previously, then offered me a rental (so they wanted more money out of me), then wanted me to just leave my car there even though I had an appointment set with them. I'm sure if I left it there, I would have gotten a call later on saying it was fixed, and the bill is only $600. No thanks. I'll never patronize this "business" again. read more

After apologizing to me for my poor experience they offered to refund the difference between the quote and what I actually paid and they were true to there word. We had chosen this company based on a friend's recommendation and excellent reviews. Our experience with the company did not reflect the reviews that we had read online. We had issues with turnaround time and communication. However, a week after picking up our vehicle, the owner personally called us to apologize and offered to make amends for our inconveniences. While we did not have an excellent experience, we suspect, based on the owner's concern for our satisfaction, that the next person would likely be very satisfied with their performance. read more
