Repair quality is decent. Speed is decent. Expect to pay two to three times the market rate on parts and labor.

While there's one closer…read moreto my home, I was in the McCordsville area today and decided to stop in and get an oil change even though it was just a wee bit early from my due mileage. While it should be obvious from the name, this is an oil change location and not a full-service mechanic. That said, they do offer full-service oil changes, battery replacement, headlight/tail light replacement, transmission service, differential fluid replacement, tire rotation, fuel system cleaning, windshield wiper replacement, air filter replacement, and fleet service. If I remember correctly, this is a 3-bay location. I pulled up and was taken in right away. This is a somewhat set-apart location in the outer parking lot of a Meijer with a brand new Crew Car Wash around the corner. There's also a small strip center across the parking lot with a Noble Roman's, Great Clips, and Verizon. The employees here were friendly and helpful. They did everything a full-service change offered at a fair price. I was in/out in just a few minutes. As a wheelchair user, I always appreciate when I don't have to get out of the car. Because this is a nationwide chain, they were able to pull up my records. I appreciated that. I also appreciated that they aired up my tires as I had one running a bit low. They were having a film discussion - I'm a film critic, so that was kind of cool. However, they were also super focused on what they were doing and doing the job well. This location was clean, professional, and in good repair itself. Overall, this was a positive experience and I would easily return. While I'll generally stick to the one closer to my home (Glendale area of Indy), I won't hesitate to come back here when I'm in McCordsville. As a side note, Valvoline frequently has coupons on its website that can help reduce the price a bit.

I took both my sons cars to get serviced. I paid for an oil change, tire rotation and air filter for both. Yes both filters looked nasty and needed replaced. My youngest son told them that he had wider tires in the back than in front. They blew him off. On the way home, his tires were rubbing as he turned because they put the back tires on the front. He called when he got home and they said bring it in tomorrow. So, he spent his time going back the next day. When he got there, they basically told him to go inside and sit down, they are the professionals! REALLY! They were treating him like he didn't know what he was talking about. After 40 minutes, he saw them all standing around talking, they came in an ALL of them apologized to him AND SAID HE WAS RIGHT! They moved them back but we didn't get a tire rotation because they said they didn't crisscross. So, even though we paid for a tire rotation, we didn't get one. At this point I'm not sure my other son got a rotation as well. When he got home he said his washer fluid was not working and we looked and neither of my son's fluids had been filled. This trip for the two cost me $400! I will NEVER, I repeat, NEVER patronize another Jiffylube EVER again. I like to support local, as I know these are owned by a couple out of Ft. Wayne but I will go to the dealership or a Midas for that matter going forward. They could give me free oil changes forever and I would not take it. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY

The people under the bays did not like the car next to us and they kept complaining about the car. It was very unprofessional. They also did not offer to reset the car's oil change light. I've been struggling with how to rate and review my experience with this location of Valvoline…read more I'll start off by saying that Valvoline is my preferred oil change spot. I'll go out of my way to use Valvoline, though I don't live particularly close to this location. I pulled up to this three-bay location. It was clear that on a warmer than usual day with the sun out that this location was doing a brisk business. While I'm typically greeted upon arrival at Valvoline, on this day I wasn't greeted until it was time for me to pull into the bay. The employees were friendly. Andrea, who is an assistant manager, was clearly engaged and active with everyone. I really like the option of staying in the car. I stated I wanted a Conventional oil change. It's the low-end option, however, my car is older and it more than suffices. I opted for windshield wipers and I had a $10 off coupon. The wait was longer than usual, however, given the brisk business I expected that. It was fine. Once I was in the bay, things went fairly timely. They did seem to have difficulty changing my windshield wipers. Andrea made a point of noting the cuts she'd gotten on her fingers. As I'm a Valvoline regular, the option of e-mailing my receipt was offered and taken. In theory, things went pretty well here. However, I'll admit a couple things bugged me. One, while parking in a bay I heard the assistant manager talking to an employee about going home when he was able. The conversation went that he'd been unable to stay to a time she needed so, essentially, he might as well go ahead and go home. I obviously know nothing about the employee, but I do know that HR conversations shouldn't be had within the listening ears of customers. Even if everything was perfect, it "sounded" rude. The experience also seemed to me a bit overpriced. Maybe it's not. Maybe it's perfectly fine. But, the oil change is typically around $39.99. I paid around $96 total. So, I paid over $50 for windshield wipers? Plus, I had a $10 coupon. Unfortunately, this also leads to the fact that I never received the receipt via e-mail. My e-mail is correct in the system - I regularly get e-mails from Valvoline. So, that's not it. As I'd already had an issue with the swiping of my card, it just makes me a bit nervous to not turn around and get my receipt. I don't know. This definitely wasn't a bad experience. It just didn't rise up to the usual Valvoline experience. To her credit, and it must be noted, Andrea was friendly as was the other employee. However, these little things distracted from the experience. If I could go 3.5 stars, I probably would lean that way. Unfortunately, I can't. In the absence of that option, I'm acknowledging that this wasn't quite a miss, but it was a rare off-day for Valvoline. I'll definitely use Valvoline again, however, I'll likely stick to my more preferred locations.

However, this particular spot is actually closer to my home and I knew today it was going to be closer to where I needed to do some other errands. Belle Tire was founded in Detroit in 1922. The name comes from founder Sam Waze naming the company after his wife (I'll let you guess her name). Belle Tire is fairly new in the Indianapolis region having arrived from 2016-2020. Around 30 locations are noted in the Indianapolis region including a Whitestown, Indiana training facility. Belle has sports partnerships with Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Colts, and Chicago Blackhawks. Belle is historically known for strong customer service and relationship building. The stores are also historically customer friendly a clean, comfortable waiting area that includes a computer kiosk, vending machine, coffee, and a unisex restroom that is also wheelchair friendly. With most auto repair places, accessibility is an afterthought. Belle has often gained my business because of its commitment to accessibility. This was my first visit to this location. It seems just a bit smaller than Castleton, though not by much. There are two accessible parking spots up front. I'd actually ordered my tires and paid online and set my appointment mid-week so that I could come in on Saturday morning. I arrived quite a bit early, however, I was able to get served pretty quickly. Business was steady but not what I would call busy. I like the option of paying online. While it doesn't quite eliminate the attempted upsell, it reduces the pressure since I'd already paid. As I pulled up here, I was a bit irritated to see two trucks blocking the accessible parking area. I was able to squeeze in, however, one of the two spots was completely blocked. That's unacceptable. However, I did get parked and did have a clear path to the curb cut. In most of my visits to Belle, someone greets me at the door. However, in this case one person was serving a customer and the other was on the phone. The employees were friendly and helpful. My reservation was identified and my tires were ready and available. I was a little nervous ordering online, however, it worked just fine and the tires were appropriate. I also was pleased that there was no issue regarding payment since I'd paid online. I was able to relax in the waiting area, though the store was a touch chilly. At one point, I think they finally addressed that. My set of tires was ready within about an hour. It was a reasonable time and I was completely fine with it. They did recommend a front alignment, though I opted to hold off to see how it drove. I also had an experience that made me not want to spend additional cash here. A person drove up in what was obviously a quite nice car and he was obviously a friend of the place as both people working the counter went out to look at the car. That's fine (and it was quick). However, he parked (illegally) in one of the accessible parking spots and I was a bit bothered the employees didn't detour this. I think it was especially noteworthy since a disabled customer was in the building. Fortunately, he didn't stay long but considering the spots had been blocked when I arrived this really indicated a casual attitude about accessibility. This, in turn, directly lost them the sale of an alignment. It also is why I'm dropping a star here. I will give kudos, however, that the person who worked on my car parked it right next to the curb cut when he was done. I'm amazed how often this doesn't happen and I end up struggling to get in my car. So, bravo for that. That said, most other aspects of this experience were fine. I'd say this location is a notch below Castleton. However, my general impression of Belle is that it remains one of the more customer friendly companies related to autos in the area. Since Belle came to town, I haven't even thought about Firestone. Would I come back? Probably. However, to be honest I'll likely head back up to Castleton as it's simply a better experience and the devotion to accessibility when I've visited has been strong. This was a good but not great visit. However, between the successful online interaction, the quality tires, and the overall friendliness I still have to go 4 stars. I also got my eligible rebates and they were explained well including the one I thought I was eligible for but actually wasn't. A little tweaking and this could easily be a 5 star location. For now, 4 stars it is.
