Told the associate what I was basically looking for and his response was "Do you have the boat here?" and then "Any chance you can get it here?" after I told him it wasn't with me. No interest in showing me options, or talking about products. I initially left, but went back in with hopes that someone would show me some products so I could start making decisions and get some ballpark pricing. The manager came over and I explained my situation saying that I didn't have the boat with me. He rolled his eyes and told me that I needed the boat here as well. I asked if he cared to even listen to what my needs were and he asked me to leave his store. Then proceeded to yell at me and threatened to call the police when I asked what I had done to get kicked out of his store. Showed up to get a full job on my truck at 1:00 pm on a Friday. I purchased subs, amp, deck, back up camera, and a car alarm with auto start. A cute little lady named Jackie walked me through the entire process and told me to come back around 9:00 pm. I come back at 8:20 pm and the installer, David, had a hard time with my truck and needed the truck until 11:00 pm. The store closes at 9:00 pm but Jackie, David, Marc, and JD stayed to complete the work while I wondered around the store. THIS IS A GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE!!! They are pleasant, funny, caring. Jackie answered all my questions with a smile, even the silly ones. She also laughed at my jokes. I have a Car Toys near my home but I came to this one because of the online reviews. I went into car toys to see if I could get some help with the stereo that was installed in a used car I had just purchased. It was a pioneer touch screen stereo with Bluetooth capabilities and I couldn't get the Bluetooth to work. I can't remember the name of the gentleman that came out to help me but he had my stereo working and all synced up with my phone after spending some time with it. I was overjoyed that he was able to get it to work! I tried to tip him but he refused to take it. I appreciate the customer service. Went in to talk about options for a stereo system in my new truck, it's been a challenge due to the factory stereo not playing well with others. I originally was going to have them just install 1 piece of equipment and buy new door speakers but the sales guy convinced me they would do everything top notch. I bought 4 new door speakers, new amp and new sub, they were to install all those along with my dsp and new speaker wires to the doors. They steered me away from the sub I wanted and picked a "better" one and told me they would build a custom box. All together $2800. Pick up my truck and..... "Custom" box is just a square that is too small for the sub but doesn't let my seat go down all the way. And is fed with 18g wire. The sub after research is a 4 ohm instead of 2, this means I'm only getting half of the power I could be. The amp was mounted to carpet and flopping around. No new speaker wire. I had a long discussion with the sales guy and installer about what I wanted and........ Nada. Went back in today only to be told that I would have to wait til Tuesday before I could talk to the manager about it. Soooo disappointed! All they cared about was the sale, didn't give me what I wanted and turned a 250 trip into a 2800 trip only to end up with frustration, a subpar installation and a sub that sounds no better than the factory one that was removed. $$$$2800..... They should be ashamed. Will update after I speak with the manager. Update: I've raised the rating to 2 stars because I spoke with the manager today and he was really good about coming up with a solution. They haven't redone the work yet but I will update again after its complete. Well i bought a groupon confirmed my phone number and made an appointment over the phone last week. I came in today for my 10 am appointment on my lunch from work. The day after I posted this review I was contacted by Rico, the store manager. He asked me to give the store a second chance so I scheduled the appointment for yesterday; Tuesday at 9am. The work they did was amazing, everyone was friendly and now my car looks like I just bought it. And they had it ready in three and a half hours!!! The reason I'm giving the store a 4 star review this time is because once again, I was there before 9am and they were still closed by 9:05am. Today i took my 2008 Suzuki for car detailing. i purchased groupon. when i went there, i was told that groupon covers only very limited service. then i paid another 75$ for pet package and front row cleaning. when i took the car back after detailing, i felt that this is the worst service i have ever received in my life. I got about $2,500 worth of work on my car and I was taken care of very well the first time when they were trying to sell me the stuff but once the purchase was done I got treated like garbage, I had to return some beats that I also bought then I got a new pair but weren't the rights one then I had to return those as well and when I finally got the ones I was suppose to get I got another 100 dollars added to my bill because of the price difference of the pair I should've gotten the first time they said I would be discounted but they never did and just added more to my bill, today I tried calling simply to ask when my first payment would be and the person who answered didn't know much about the payment plan so he got his manager Patrick on the phone and he was just a total jerk answering questions like if there was an obvious answer, just super rude. Dustin was cool but he's a liar.. what I recommend is to not go here go try another car toys and hope they take good care of you but if you do happen to go to any of these stores just ask a million questions about what your purchasing even if they get annoyed, they're going to treat you like garbage anyways :) read more

I just had one of the most impressive experiences working with these people. I went in expecting to spend about a grand on a new system for my car I mite have spent a little more then that but it was money well spent I got a new cell phone, (galaxy s4) its amazing The system I wanted, My car detailed and I had a great time they are extremely entertaining down there. I was sold a phone girl says oh we have this great replacement coverage if anything happens your phone will be covered just bring it back and we will swap it out. Lie you can't bring it back they have you call India and you have to mail it in. Ok fine but that's it right? Nothing I have to do just send it in right? Yes that's it, another lie, turns out there is a 125 dollar deductible so after blowing up at the answering service for these lies I say whatever i need my phone so I have to pay it, well there system is down so they can't take my credit card, so they have to call me back, on a phone I can't answer calls on but they don't care, they got my money in first place who cares if I'm happy now. Lying to get the sale only cost you customers when they figure out they have been had. There is a reason why all the big electronic stores are failing and this is why. If you're going to get bad customer service you may as well buy online and not deal with it. got a new car last week, I wanted a remote start, I had had it on my last car and got spoiled. after my experience at Car Toys, I think I would have been glad to get in to a cold car. It was this worse shopping experience I have ever had, from being misinformed about what they could do to put on a remote start, I called and my husband actually went in and talked to sales person and the tech and they explained what they could do, my husband, asked them to verify they could do what they said. Next day the horrible experience began. I took the car down there is didn't have 50 miles on it, so I wanted everything to go smooth. My husband came to pick me up from work, as soon as I got in the truck I knew something was wrong, he was on the phone and gave me that look, they couldn't do what they said they could. So we went in, I told them I was willing to accept it as it was, but wasn't going to pay the higher cost, then the sales person said they would take it out, at first I didn't catch on to what he was saying, then he said he would refund my money and that would rip it out, I explained they had had the car for over 2 1/2 hours and I wanted to pay for what had been installed in the car, he said I had to pay for higher cost or they would take it out of my car, we finally said do it. The sales person came up to me when we were looking at other items in the store, said he couldn't make me happy so why didn't they take it out and refund the money, I said lets just do what we talked about and I will call corporate and tell them, that seem to not make him happy. I walked out the door nearly in tears, this is the car I had wanted for 6 years and I didn't know at this point what the outcome would be. My husband came out and told me not to call anyone because he wanted to get the car out of the shop before calling anyone, we felt the car was being held hostage. I did get the remote start, not like what had been said, I have two remote, one to start the car, the other to unlock the car so I could drive, not perfect for my car I had been dreaming about. June 2015. This store, Employees, and Mangers have no concept of what customer service is about. I had brought in my 2013 service van for a new Clifford car alarm, and to have them fix a problem my premium stereo system. My front driver side tweeter speaker was intermittently cutting out. They said my amplifier was bad. So I bought the same amp and the new alarm. the employees have know clue what any of the chirps on the remote mean. And reading the manual doesn't help. Car toys recommended the lcd remote with the scene that explains what triggered the alarm or mode alarm is in. For $200 more. 2ed I am now in for the 3rd time for the same problem. The driver front speaker cutting out. They will not acknowledge that the amp was not the problem the first time and now want to sell me more stuff. So 2nd visit I bought new rca cords and now looking at replacing front speakes. They obviously have poor diagnostic trouble shooting skills. And as I was weighting i over heard some one say they will pull equipment out of wall for the install. I was contacted by Car Toys Customer service and The problems with my system have been Resolved. First got cursed at by another customer telling me to go f*** myself because he cut in the 45 min line and I told him to get back to the end. The manager seemed to not give a shit. Scheduled to have my truck in at noon on a Tuesday and was told we will get to it when a guy is free. I'm a mechanic and appointments mean you find a stopping point and jump on the appointment, not do whatever. Got my truck back and both door panels are not put back right so I get to do that on my lunch. The blend door for my vents now makes a buzzing sound when I change settings and the plastic on the dash is messed up. These guys get you in the door with very cleverly written coupons and deals and then suck you dry if you decide to actually have some work done. I took my vehicle in for the $200 remote start install, walked out paying twice as much because my vehicle was missing some components that were needed to accommodate the remote start system. Such a scam. My car also took 3 hours longer than promised. My friend had one installed from this location a few months ago and he said they promised him it shouldnt be more than a half hour wait, and it took him 2.5 hours too. I had a stereo system installed, Car toys damaged my car by poking a hole in my interior. They stated they would order a part and fix it, this never happened and they did not follow up. A week later the maps on the stereo stooped working, they stated they would re wire it, and it should be an experience. The staff attitude was negative about what i requested, and i had to return to the store up to four or five times for the requested service.. ..I finally asked them to remove the stereo system and they became competitive stating that i still have to pay fees for service, after the removal, there was no communication my keys were handed to me and it was stated that my car was parked outside, no mention of fixing the hole, and they left more damage by not replacing the rubber seals around the doors correctly.....bad services, bad product, horrible customer service if you are a unhappy customer. read more

So I purchased a stereo (that upon after installing, they informed me half the stereo features work for android as opposed to iphone--so half my purchased item worked) back in late 2014 and decided to try their store card (now called Brand Source). The salesman offered a 0% interest for 12 months promo, so I figured since I didn't have any other retail credit cards at the time, I'd go for it to help my credit score. What they don't tell you is it is DEFERRED interest. Meaning, if you don't pay your full balance in 12 months, the bank will then RETRO-bill you for the interest you've been skipping for the last year. I just noticed I got hit with almost $500 in back-interest that I never knew I would end up having to pay. The salseman explained that after the 12 mo promo, I would then start paying interest. He never told me I would have to pay all the interest from the entire year of the promo. They left these details out on purpose. I had the most horrible experience here, never got the information I needed after asking endless questions before my purchase. My Pioneer stereo randomly factory resets back to the demo, losing all of my preset stations (my car battery is fine). They didn't know how to fix it, other than suggesting the reset button. I am STILL left with a $1500 balance on my card in 2015, after a $1000 purchase in 2014, EVEN THOUGH I made more than my minimim payments each month. The bank charged my card a near 50% interest. This should not be legal. Please please please do not select their card promotion. I got swindled and lied to. I'll never go back to Car Toys, especially the one on Mississippi. read more

WOW, Where to start. Ok I recently got a bunch of money to have fun with which i rarley get so i thought why not go to Car Toys because its a better place to go. well that slogan right there should be enough grounds to be sued. I went in there with 900.00 for a deck, amp, and subwoofers.the sales ass.asked what my price limit was and i said around 800 bucks. like the guy who posted above me he is right about the used car sales man approach and they will scam you just like one read on.... so after going through all the systems and and basically saying that theres not alot of options for me because of my 800.00 dollar budget wasent enough. that should have been a red flag right there but i didnt know much about car steros..... now i know for 900 bucks i can buy 2 or 3 systems if i use the internet and install it myself. ok so i have the system picked out for me basically that these pros claim is a great system top of the line subs a decent mono amp and an ok basic deck- no blue tooth or ne thing fancy. the subs were 2 12s that were made by kenwood and a kenwood amp.BEFORE I PAID I ASKED THEM WHAT THE RETURN POLICY WAS, THEY REPLIED THAT EVERYTHING IS RETURNABLE BESIDES THE LABOR. IT SUCK THAT YOU CANT GET YOUR 200 BUCKS BACK IF YOUR NOT HAPPY BUT OK WHATEVER. so after the 3 hour wait i got in my car turned my system up and drove off. when i turned the system on it didnt sound right i got home checked it out and it turns out the tech forgot to put in 4 screws in one of the subs so there was massive air leak, i looked at the other sub and it looked scuffed up on the lip and the box had a chip out of it since its wood. it looked like some used bullshiT. THIS IS ONLY THE START!!!!! I WOULD SUGGEST READING ON. I took the car back the next day. the same tech was there as well as the sales ass.i told them that the $900.00 eqiptment looks used and that 4 screws were missing and that the subs sound like shit. the the guys had a blank stare and the tech made it seem like i took the screws out.....wtf why would i do such a thing and told me everything was new out of the box and there was no reason for them to look that way, they basically told me that it was my problem now and not theirs. he fixed the screws and i said ok well ill see how it sounds now.SYSTEM WOULD STILL CUT OFF RANDOMLY AND IT SOUNDED LIKE SOME CHEAP SUBS. I HAD A SYSTEM THAT WAS 200 BUCKS FROM BEST BUY THAT BEAT LOUDER AND HARDER THAT THIS 900 DOLLAR SYSTEM VERY SAD. Ok THIS IS IMPORTANT PAY ATTENTION. i was fed up with this bs system i already felt like i got ripped so now im gonna take the system back and get my fucking money back. i called first just so i can make sure they have time to take this shit out. well i talked to a manager that goes by mike/michael and he said bring it in well look at it and see what we can do if you want it out then we can do so, again i asked if everything is returnable besides the labor that is, he states yes...everything. well i bring it in and nobody is there i talked to its a girl thats playing manager because she clearly doesent know shit about managing. well i tell her hey mike told me to come in to have my system pulled out because i was lied to, i was ripped off and fucked in the ass and ive had enough of it. ok so she looks over my reciept to make sure its been less than 30 days then she looks at my labor fee and SAYS ITS GOING TO BE 50% OF THE ORIGINAL INSTALL FEE TO UNINSTALL IT SO THATS 100+ DOLLARS MORE THEY WANTED. I ASKED 2-3 TIMES DIFFERENT EMPLOYESS WHAT THE REFUND POLICY WAS, NOBODY MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A UNISNTALL FEE HMM BUT I STILL HAVE TO PAY THAT OR 1.UNINSTALL MY SELF OR 2. KEEP THE SYSTEM. OR 3 PAY THEM MORE MONEY FOR RIPPING ME OFF AND LYING. WELL THANK GOD I HAVE A FRIEND THAT KNOWS HOW TO DO CAR STERO WORK. S ME AND MY FRIEND ARE UNISTALLING THIS SYSTEM. I TOOK IN ALL MY STUFF GAVE THE LADY(THE SAME ONE THAT BROKE THE NEWS TO ME ABOUT EXTRA FEES ) MY RECIEPT . so she asks me where the boxes were lol. they never gave me a fucking box to nething besides the deck and now shes telling me she has to call the other manager because she doesent know if she can return with out the box.... excuse me ok so that issue gets handled were good. now she starts saying that the wiring kits arent retunable after every person i asked says everything is returnable.... wtf. ok so now since she told me that they were theyll go ahead and honor that. we work it out i quit fighting,600.00 out of 900.00 i get back but its a check that corporate has to send me that takes 2 weeks omg. im glad i know a great lawyer. read more

It was okay, because it gave me a chance to find the stereo deck that I had picked out at another store (I would have purchased at the other place, but they were sold out of them, so I was delighted to find it for sale INSTALLED at Car Toys for 50 dollars less!). I also checked out the remote start key fabs, which sound fantastic in the cold weather. I was thinking I would have both of them installed at the same time, because when the salesman finally got around to us, he assured us that while it saved us no money, it would save us time, as they had to slate 4-6 hours whether they did one or both...um...okay...WHY does that not save me money, if it saves them THAT much time? Anyway, moving on. The first alarm bells in my head sounded, when I was eyeing the remote start key fab which was only 229 INSTALLED! Great price, right? RIGHT?! Wrong. He asked what kind of car I had, and lo and behold they had one in the bay that was exactly my kind of car, getting exactly that done, and they were able to do the install, and have them out the door for 420 bucks. Wait. What? Where does the extra 200 dollars come in? "Oh, that's just the labor. We can't really tell how much labor it will take." I checked the sign again, and confirmed to myself that it was 229, installed. When I turned to the salesman and asked "so...when you say INSTALLED...?", he sort of smirked at me like I was just a clueless girl, and tried to explain that sometimes it costs extra. Ummm. okay. So I then asked him about the stereo. The deck that says 179 dollars INSTALLED, presumably is going to come with a similar nasty surprise. "OH NO!" he assures me, the installation is included in that. I glance skeptically back at the remote starts, and then move on to discuss the stereo deck. Having discussed it, and its compatibility with my current speakers, at LENGTH with a sales guy at a store not far away, I was already rolling my eyes when he went to have another talk with the tech who would be installing the thing. He came back to tell the the bad news that it was completely incompatible with my current speakers, and that I would need to put in new six inches on the door, and a new sub (REALLY dude?), Apparently it would sound "like a kazoo" if I attempted the travesty of using my existing speakers, which is curious, because I had been assured an hour before, by a guy actually referring to my current system's specs on a computer screen that all would be well. Car Toys boy then went on to tell me that if I decided to try it with my terrible speakers, and come back later for the bigger ones, they could at least install the deck for 420 bucks (!!!!) What?!?! Again with the 200 mystery fee, that somehow gets added onto the free installation. I am unclear if they are confused about the meaning of the word free, or the meaning of the word installation. Possibly both, but to my knowledge installation means that they put the damn thing in my car to a degree in which it functions, and free means I don't pay to have them do so. Chet (okay, his name wasn't Chet, but it freakin' should've been;) told us that the read problem was that it needed some sort of lead, which would cost $150, plus, of course, that pesky labor to install it. Again, the guy at the place nearby said the kit which would be additional cost to make the stereo work, cost $25. So either he was full of crap, or Chet was, and I have serious suspicions that it was Chet. Either way, it is a fairly classic bait-and-switch technique, where nothing seems to work, and we need extra parts, probably very special order parts made out of unicorns, and we all know that unicorns are costly. Chet then followed us to the door, assuring us that we could use "Car Toy bucks" or something like that, which is essentially store credit, so they actually found a way to tack on interest, after the additional labor costs, and make even more money off of a "free install". Absolutely horrendous customer service. I asked if I could drop my car off a bit early for an appointment. Left me standing outside in the cold while they "checked to see what they could do". 20 minutes later I popped my head in the door and 9 of them were in a meeting and couldn't be bothered to even address my question. Manager was rude and the rest of the staff were just plain disinterested in any sort of customer service. I walked out. I'd take my business elsewhere at all cost. read more

RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! For Fathers Day, my mom took my dads car up for a detail that costed $150. They told her it would take 3 hours, so we brought a book and sat up there and waited. Low and behold, 6 HOURS LATER, they brought it out and it looked terrible. I took it back up there the Monday after Fathers Day. They told me it would take 6 hours for them to "get it right". 9 HOURS LATER they gave me the keys. Unbelievable, right? Wait for it- it still wasn't clean. My 10 year old could have done a more thorough job. Extremely poor quality. I asked for my money back, and after spending all of my time up there and still getting a sub-par job done, they only gave me $50 for me to take it somewhere else to have it done properly. I will never go here again for anything. They have lost my business and I am spreading the word about my experience like wildfire. read more

What a joke! Installed remote start that worked for a week. Took it back during the week to see if they could look at it and told me I had to be there at 8:45 on Saturday when they open at 9:00! Showed them the screws they didn't put back in and three other problems, they said they would wash my truck for the problems I had. They washed the truck but not the windshield. Now there is wires hanging out from under the dash. Should have went to Pda road gear! read more

I was so excited when I saw the commercial on TV with the great prices. I thought this would be the perfect Christmas gift for my husband. But after reading all the negative reviews I can see that probably this won't be the perfect gift after. There's just too many horror stories here. I guess I'll just pay more and go to Best Buy where I know it will be done right without all those hidden fees. What a shame that a company can get away with what they are doing to people! read more

I was so disappointed with the lack of customer service I received at Car Toys. When I bought 2 cell phones the employee (JD) was so friendly and helpful. He told me that I had 14 days to try the phones and return them if needed. I returned them today because I decided I didn't want to switch providers. He was not friendly and really took his time to complete the return. He took 30 minutes to complete the transaction. He said that it was taking so long because he hadn't done a phone return in 3 years. I was so relieved when he gave me the paperwork for the return. I will never enter that store again! read more
