In 2009 my husband had car toys put a new radio in my 1949 Ford Business Coupe. My husband passed in 2013 and I could never get the radio to work. I had the electrical checked and all was working. I recently took the radio over to Dakota at Car Toys he checked the radio and found it was dead. He then took out the fuse, replaced it and it worked. The WORST! 1965 resto ruined by these idiots. The broke the door panel so the used screws to put it back. Now I have to replace the door panels again. Totally poor quality and zero accountability. They simply refused to fix the issue and blamed me. They said I brought the car in with screws in my completely mint interior. He showed me exactly what I was looking to get done, but unfortunately the price just was nowhere near where I wanted to be. The main sales guy is very nice and does work really hard to earn your business, but the main service guy can be a little rougher around the edges. Prices are on the pricier end. The service isn't much better. We were among the first few customers to drop off our Subaru Outback on a Sunday morning when the store first opened for installation of 1) an alarm system with remote start and 2) new front speakers, and they had not finished working on the vehicle by closing. The store contacted us to return close to their closing time, and when we did, we waited inside and then opted to continue waiting in our other vehicle for an hour and a half until they finally finished. The handoff itself was very rushed. They sped through the instructions on how to operate and use our new features, and we were not provided any instruction manuals. We came back a month later for help turning off the alarm system chirps, and the service guy rudely insisted that it was not possible because the chirp is a factory setting on the car. As I explained to him, the chirp in question was a different tone than what it was previously (the actual factory setting). Additionally, I have had this same exact chirp tone on a previous car that had a third party alarm system installed. read more

Job complete in 7 hours and store closing. Sounded great, 2 1/2 hr. drive home. I drove 5 hrs round trip 4 days later because FOCAL crossovers were not installed. Tacoma store installed them while installer had an attitude. 3 days later I called Focal Rep. due to speakers sounding blown at 1/2 vol.I contacted Silverdale to do warranty work as they were 2 hrs closer. Made appt. showed up and manager said appt. not written in book. Made appt. and they cancelled day of appt. due to manager gone. drove to another appt. and not written in book again but they would try. returned later and manager said FIXED. Didn't sound great. Next day I pulled door panel and serial # confirmed nothing replaced! They adjusted head unit settings so only higher frequencies played. manager straight lied to my face! FOCAL rep agreed I was entitled a brand new set of speakers as 9 months had passed and all the BS. Rep called Silverdale and I made another appt. in 3 weeks. Installer checked speakers and manager say's "WE DON'T HAVE SPEAKERS HERE". I started losing my mind and raising my voice when he found 1 woofer to replace bad one. part way home I noticed sub not working. I continued home, feeling ill that day. A few days later I suffered a mini-stroke. This week I'm going to MOBILE MUSIC in PORT ANGELES with ALL 5 STAR Reviews to get system dialed in. Silverdale manager should not have a job because he will lie and you can't trust him to honor warranties or keep appointments. Purchased dual 12 kicker comp r's. Was matched with a kicker cxa800.1 amp by none other than someone who is a manager there. The price I was quoted was around $600, it ended up being $788. Didn't care about the price... tax and whatever else... just needed amp and subs in a box. Hooked it up, it was banging, but something wasn't right. Come to find out I need 1000 watts RMS @ 2ohms, and my amp was pushing 600 watts rms @ 2ohms. I go back the next day and point this out to the same guy, I was apologized to and said he can get the one I need, but it has to be ordered... I said fine.. he said it's an extra $477 dollars..... I'm like excuse me.... that's a HUGE difference in price from $250 to $700... if I knew that's what I was looking at originally, I would have maybe thought about a different set up.... or accepted that I need X amount of Money in the first place. so I said fine order it, here's my number, call me, he says great, and he would talk to his boss to see if they can discount it because of his mistake.... no big deal at this point.............. 5 days later... no call. I drive down today and it came... no one called... no apology for not calling but he did ask me how My day was... that was decent. he then tells me the price is $688. Had to remind him I'm returning the previous one... clearly not keeping an underpowered extra amp. Says it's now $466... so his math was wrong originally.... and I'm not sure if 11 bucks was my discount for poor customer service.... so I told him to just refund me for the first amp and I'm good. AKA a return policy. He then can't just refund me, but then states I was ok with him ordering the second amp..... yea I'm ok with you ordering a product you should have on your shelf, like he went out of his way for me. Long story short, I can not recommend a service if the dude that's suppose to be in charge: A. Can't sell me the correct product B. Can't charge me properly.... my reciept doesn't even have prices of what I paid for the items C. Doesn't call me when a product is in D. Tries to come off like making someone forced to pay an extra $500 for a high end amp is an appropriate business practice when I just bought the SAME amp with a higher wattage of 1200 rms @ 2ohms like I needed for an extra 80 bucks from a big box retailer. E. The salutation he gave me was "sorry it just didn't work out"..... I didn't even pay for a service... I just paid for product... the products you stare at daily. What didn't work out was your entire approach the whole way. Buyer beware. Be careful of their sales advertisements and online website deals and pricing. If they advertise a stereo head unit price that includes free installation and a free backup camera they should honor that and be truthful in their advertising. Charging $200 to install the free $70 backup camera and another $280 in "shop fees" for the free installation of the head unit is really a ripoff. A nice $600 Kenwood with "free installation" and a "free" backup camera was going to cost me over $1300 out the door. read more

I had a $70 Groupon recently for this location and it included a deep interior vaccume, interior cleaning (not seats) and inside/outside all the windows, and a few other things - It was worth it! My car looks great inside! It wasn't the BEST detail I have ever had but then again it was $70... I mean, that is reasonable. My car smelled so fresh when I got inside and drove it away. I got a Parrot Bluetooth installed in my car here a 2 years ago- it was fine, without incident. A few weeks ago the cable that charges my phone stopped charging. Thinking maybe something came unplugged I brought it in to be fixed. Nope, service guy Carl looked at is and apparently that part of the Parrot stopped working. "WTF!?" I said. "How can that part not work and the Bluetooth works just fine? Apparently in the world of $200 after market Bluetooth car thingies, 2 years is forever. Of course I didn't buy the warranty. I was hoping to have a new car by now! Jeremiah came up with a solution that kept me from having to buy a new one. They raided storage and found another Parrot that had already been used for parts, and were able to put together a solution for me so my charger would work again. Thanks to Carl & Jeremiah for solving by problem, and Steve & Jason for being entertaining while I waited for the repair to be finished. When I got there, an associate looked over my car and told me that the Groupon would cover the floors but not the seats. He also said it would not take care of the pet hair. He told me how much it would cost to really clean my car (~$155) and I agreed to go through with it. When I picked up my car, I was really pleased with the results. Wish I had done before and after pics because the change is significant. Stains on the seats were gone, pet hair was conpletely removed, and the car smelled extremely clean. Overall it was a good experience. Downside was the sticker shock and the time (dropped off at 10am and picked up at 6pm), but I'm happy with the thorough job they did. Really appreciated James for looking over my car and discussing everything with me. If your car is in dire need of extreme cleaning, this is the place. read more

*giving a 1 star review because 0 is not an option* I am so disappointed with my experience at Car Toys. They had a deal for $299 for a stereo with "free installation and free backup cam". Went into the store and found out that the "free installation" is actually "free BASIC installation", and was told that there would be an additional charge to install the stereo. I asked for an estimate and was told "probably $60" and they told me to come back the next morning to drop off my car. Went in the next AM (I had called immediately before coming in to make sure they were still able to install the stereo that day) only to be told that they weren't sure they would have time and didn't know if they had all the parts they needed. Again, I asked how much extra I would be charged for the installation. I told them that the previous day, they had mentioned that I would be around $60 extra. However, on top of the $299 + tax, they planned to charge me another $200 for installation, a 10% shop fee, and said that the wiring harness was $120. Total came out to $899.16, $600 more than the advertised price. When I asked for a copy of the quote so I could run it by my dad, they told me that they "don't give quotes unless you pay". Went to Best Buy the same day, found the same stereo for $299. 100% free installation, no additional charges, and free lifetime warranty on the work. They were upfront about their pricing and were happy to provide me with a quote if I wanted to compare prices elsewhere. I would never go back to Car Toys and would recommend others don't either. read more

I would not recommend going to the Tacoma store. I was there recently and witnessed the store MANAGER (!) yelling at his staff on the salesroom floor. He was upset because their store was not meeting sales goals so it was going to affect HIS commission check. He did not care about anyone or anything except his commission check. How can you trust someone like that? You cant so we left and went somewhere else. The "manager's" name that was belittling his staff was Dillon. We nicknamed him Dickhead Dillon when we were leaving the parking lot. You cant have employees that support you when you yell at them in front of customers? Dillon should be fired.
