RE: 24 Derrick Lane, Stafford, VA 22554 I have just returned home from the above-referenced location of Car Web, Inc. After speaking a couple of times with a salesman, I took time out of my busy day to drive from Largo, MD to Stafford, VA to test drive a green 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The car was in great condition and drove smoothly. Thus, upon completion of the test drive, I went inside the facility to discuss numbers. My salesman was absolutely great! He asked me about using his company's financing, but I told him I had already been pre-approved by my credit union. He inquired further but was not pushy about trying to convince me otherwise. Then, he drafted the preliminary paperwork for his finance department to use in developing a 'Bill of Sale.' I would then need to provide my credit union this purchase agreement, after which the credit union would tender a check to Car Web for the agreed-upon price of the car, as shown on the 'Bill of Sale.' The owner walks in... Right off the bat, he was unprofessional, speaking loudly about work being performed at this home, etc. I heard him even though I was not sitting near him because his voice was amplified. When he came through the door, I was not looking in is direction or listening intently, as I was on my cell phone speaking to colleagues and working remotely, but I heard him barking at his employees. After waiting 15 minutes or so, I then began moving around in my chair looking for my salesman. Since I knew it would take at least 24 hours to get my credit union to release the funds to cover the purchase price, I did not think it was necessary to wait needlessly at Car Web. As I turned towards the owner's desk, I noticed that it was surrounded by at least four people. It appeared they were in a meeting, and I heard the owner say, "This is not a church...," it's a dealership. After a few more minutes, I arose from my chair and proceeded in the direction of the door. I asked a young man who worked for Car Web, who was coming inside the facility, to ask my salesman to call me after his meeting. The young man approached my salesman and asked him to speak with me. My salesman said, "We need you to sign the 'Bill of Sale'...just give it a few more minutes." Less than 5 - 7 minutes later, the owner and his entourage approached the desk where I was sitting. [Apparently, this impromptu sales meeting was all about me!] He said, "I own this [place]," then proceeds to ask me a series of questions regarding my decision NOT to use Car Web's financing, including the interest rate quoted by my credit union and my credit score. Now, I have the owner, my salesperson, and about three other people standing over me. I told the owner I was uncomfortable talking to his entire sales team about my personal information, and he responded by sending one of them away. In the end, the owner opted NOT to sell me the car because he said he received a call from someone else who wanted to use Car Web to finance this same vehicle and purchase a limited warranty for it. The owner also accused me of disrespecting him. He said, in his experience, "people," [and I'm not sure if he meant all people or just African-American females] who say they are going to return to purchase a car from him, typically do not. And he reiterated this sentiment more than one time, to which I replied, "Car salesmen don't have the best reputation either," so there's risk on both sides. He quickly said, "You've just disrespected me, and I am not going to sell a car to anyone who disrespects me." Translated: I believe I can make more money off this car from the potential buyer who "said" she would come later today, so later for you! I left promptly and peacefully. All in all... this clown did me a favor! Even though I honestly feel his decision was rooted heavily in racism, I certainly do not care to waste my precious time pursuing the purchase of a mediocre second car from a dimwitted nincompoop. THIS DEALER LACKS INTEGRITY. EXTREMELY UNETHICAL. DO NOT TRUST CAR WEB. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. READ REVIEW BELOW. Two days ago - 24JAN17 - my wife and I traveled from D.C. to Car Web in Fredericksburg, VA to test drive and most likely buy a 2009 Honda Element (VIN: 5J6YH287X9L005205) Upon arrival, the dealers were very pleasant, answering our questions and providing us with plenty of space to evaluate/test drive the vehicle. After the test drive, we entered into negotiations for the price of the vehicle. The internet asking price was $14,697. Fred, who was the sales manager, told my wife that he would reduce the price of the vehicle to $13,300, plus taxes, tags, fees, etc. Fred then told us that "he owned the car at $13,700," which means that he was willing to take a $400 loss to sell us the vehicle. When I asked him how taking a $400 loss made any business sense, he didn't answer the question directly. Instead, he talked about all the basic maintenance that was completed before the vehicle was up for sale. Essentially, he avoided the question. Completely avoided it. After a few minutes, my wife and I went outside the office, took another look at the vehicle, discussed what we wanted to do, and made our way back inside to complete negotiations at the quoted price of $13,300. Right before we went back in, Fred came outside, and my wife asked him, "How much did you pay for the vehicle?" Fred brought us inside to show us what they paid, only to conveniently be pulled from the office by his brother. We waited for approx. 5 minutes. After a few minutes of waiting, Fred and his brother came back in and told us there was no deal. They weren't going to "reduce the price of the vehicle," and they weren't going to honor the previously quoted price of $13,300. When I asked why, Fred's brother said, "There is another dealership in the area who is willing to pay more for the car than you are." I voiced my frustration, and told them these types of business practices were highly unprofessional and problematic. With a smug face and a sarcastic tone, Fred and his brother said, "Sorry." We walked away. We were disappointed. Frustrated. Wronged. Treated very poorly. As of 26JAN17 at 7:55 P.M., the 2009 Honda Element (VIN: 5J6YH287X9L005205) is still for sale. Apparently, the dealership that offered to purchase the vehicle at a higher price never purchased the vehicle. My wife and I are still trying to figure out why we were treated this way by Fred and Car Web. Why did they tell us they would sell us the vehicle for $13,300, only to go back on their word? More than that, why would they lie about a dealership wanting to buy the vehicle? Were they trying to get us to counter the dealership's offer? Whatever the reason, it testified to the fact that Fred, his brother, and CAR WEB are a business that has NO INTEGRITY. Don't be fooled by their inventory, smiles, and laid back sales tactics. Didn't hear from him for a few hours, then their online sales specialist called saying he didn't forget about me but got caught up with another customer. few days later...still no call. Wow, what a nightmare! My first initial review was premature, and I wish I would have waited before leaving it. But oh yeah, they offered a starbucks gift card if a "good" review was left for them while in the office, which literally had to be shown to one of the sales team to verify it was a "good review". Some would say this is paying for positive reviews as the gift card would not be given if it were an average or bad review. Well the thought of some delicious coffee won me over and at that moment I had been having a pretty good experience so I went ahead and left them a positive review. Shame on me for jumping the gun. I have to say the sales team is pretty good, and i would like to separate them from management / owners. The sales team were really friendly and fun to work with, but then I bought the truck and the nightmare begins Initially I was going to write a very detailed account of what happened here but for legal reasons I am choosing to be very vague. Honesty and followthrough are not a priority at Car Web. Purchased a truck here on May 7, 2016. The sales staff was helpful and friendly, and so far the truck is great, BUT...the oil light came on after 200 miles, though they said it had just been changed (janky #1). They told me to get oil changed, send receipt and they would reimburse me (have not seen the check yet, janky #2). And now for the BIGGEST hassle...they still have not sent the title to me so that I can register the vehicle. At time of purchase they indicated they had it, and now they say they have yet to receive it from the auction! (WAAAYYY JANKY, #3) Five weeks and many phone calls later, we are on our second temporary registration and hoping Barbara (their title gal) gets this resolved soon. We are hoping Fred the owner stands behind his business enough to get this cleared up. If you want an easy honest car buying experience, look elsewhere. read more

What a joke!!! After talking with the dealership about a particular vehicle, I was told repeatedly that the vehicle was immaculate and I would be impressed. I decided to make the long drive there, only to find out that vehicle had numerous issues with it. The driver door opened so far, it looked like it was going to fall off the hinges. Definitely has had an accident. So many problems with the vehicle that there was no way in hell that I would buy it. What a waste of time. I was pissed. I purchased a car at the end of May of this year and I been having mechanical issues with the car after my 30 days of there warranty! They sold me a car and come to find out they don't have the title, so Tina Yazdi gave me a second set of temp tags after I had to keep calling her with expired tags. Then I received the 2nd set of temp tags and now they have expired Tina told me u can't get anymore temp tags due to Motor vehicle policy and they should be receiving the title August 25 hopefully and then I should be able to get my hard tags. Farshad and CarWeb is the most dishonest car dealer I have ever worked with in my life. I was interested in a 2008 Maserati and everything looks good on their pics. I was assured by Farshad that the car was "absolutely perfect." Since I am from another state, Farshad even said if I fly out and the car was not perfect; he "will pay for my flight." I was not able to go so I hired an independent inspector to check out the car. Surprised by the negative reviews considering what I read on other sites. One of the reasons I tried them was the positive reviews from Cars.com. All I can say is that it was an excellent buying experience. I was looking for an 2007/2008 Acura TL and they had one of the nicest I had come across. Discussed the deal over the phone, drove down, and the quality of the car and the people working there exceeded my expectations. Clean shop, professional, and excellent inventory. This is not some side of the road used car dealer. They know what they're doing. Very easy buying process. And I even learned something about cat tails while I was there. Switch and bait sales breeding ground. If you are thinking of making a trip to fulfill an appointment to purchase a particular vehicle think twice! Don't be surprised when you get there the vehicle they said would be "detailed, gassed and ready to be purchased" is no longer available! They will tell you they are straight shooters during the appointment making process but do not expect them to be any different than the typical sales guy "tell you anything to get a person through the door" and then try to sell you any other vehicle. After negotiating a time for me to purchase the vehicle the sales person, Withers assured me via telephone and email he would not waste my time and have me travel to Fred's Car Web dealership. After a 2 hour trip sure enough, Withers had just sold the car. Keep in mind we even texted him as he requested at 8:46AM to inform him I was on my way to Car Web. What a coincidence though, another buyer just happened to be there first thing on a Saturday morning....yeah right a coincidence I think not. Fred the owner, was very apologetic but they made their sale to supposedly to a guy without an appointment and a guy that the truck was not put aside for. Real straight shooting there. Withers never spoke to me while I was there as he weaseled his way into the finance office and left Fred to try and explain why I just drove all this way to get a car that was told would be ready for me to take possession of but was not. Fred, the owner doesn't realize his sales people are a poor reflection of him and his business. If you cannot trust Car Web to follow through with their negotiations of an appointment than obviously you cannot trust what they are selling. Buyer beware. read more

Update to below: Fred is no longer there and I've had 2 issues with the car since then and the people there are not interested in helping a previous customer. First review: After shopping online for a car for days, I decided that my favorite choice was a car they had here. Fred was so incredibly nice and helpful. I test drove the car and knew it was "the one." The car was super clean and exactly as advertised. I got a car loan through my bank so the entire car-buying process took less than an hour. I drove my beautiful new car home after getting a very fair price for my old car that had more than 237,000 miles on it. I would absolutely recommend this place to any of my family and friends. Justin in the finance dept handled all of my tag and title paperwork. Better car buying experience than I could have ever expected. I'm still impressed at how amazing their customer service is and how genuinely nice everyone at Car Web is. I hope I can drive my new car for as long as I drove my last one, but whenever it is time to look again, I will absolutely start here and look for Fred. read more

Car Web is a hidden jewel that's well worth seeking out. We went there after a web search showed they had the vehicle we were looking for. We were blown away by the choice of cars - they had anything from Fords to Mazzerattis! The lot is nicely done - the vehicles are not packed on top of each other. And they're clean! Everyone was professional and very friendly. The vehicle we went there to look at didn't work out but we did end up buying something else! They fixed the few small things found without a problem. THEIR CARS ARE LEMONS, I HAVE HAD/DROVE THE CAR FOR 3 DAYS AND IT IS NOT SAFE!!! I wish I would have seen your reviews before, I would not have bought this car or any other from car web. You hear about the things car dealerships do just to make a sale but once you experience it first hand, its a nightmare and no one should be treated this way. I bought the 2008 Chrysler Aspen after test driving on the local road around car web. There was a few concerns that the car salesman said we can come back and balance the tires and check out the A/C, which I said fine. It was when I was the driving the SUV on 95 and noticed when you hit 70 it starting squealing and shaking like the whole bottom of the car was getting ready to fall of. Not to mention the next day there was a loud knocking in the back on the right side of the car. I screamed Jesus and pulled over because I was scared for my 2 and 4 year children sitting back there. I had it towed to my house and haven't moved it since. Today I called their office and spoke to Katie about speaking to the Manager and that I feel that the car is unsafe driving in the car. I understand that there is no refund but even the most horrible dealerships like CarMax say you have 7 days to return it. I believe they knew the car was a lemon and just wanted to make the sale. With all the things wrong with it there's no way they didn't know. BUYERS BEWARE, DON'T BE LIKE ME DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU BUY HERE!!! THEY DON'T HAVE INTEGITY AND THEY JUST CARE ABOUT THE SALE. We have been to every car dealership from Fredericksburg to Woodbridge and we were amazed at all the junk cars people try to pass off to us as a good car...even private sellers-we have seen bent frames, bad bondo jobs, pools of fluid in the floorboard, dirty and disgusting cars...Car Web was the FIRST place that every single car for sale is pretty clean and detailed. We came at closing and they stayed late to help us-we were about to give up until we came here. They went out of there way to show us the cars and speak to us and NO Pressure! Their prices were right where they should be and not trying to gouge people and all vehicles looked really good! This is by far the best Private Used Car Dealer in the area! The only reason for minus one star was antifreeze was well below minimum when we got home-I'm really hoping it's not a leak, the center console was missed in cleaning(the rest was fantastic), and the gas tank wasn't full all the way. read more

DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE!!!! If I could take away stars from other posters to give them a negative rating I would. 1) After the test drive everything seemed great. I bought it and put the key in the ignition and before I even shifted it into gear the engine light came on.The salesman assured me that the car had not been driven in a few weeks and it had consistently been below freezing, so the battery was cold- then he got the mechanic to come over and confirm what the salesman had said, and he turned the light off. At a loss for what to do, and as it was already pretty late, I decided to take it home and bring it to my mechanic in the morning. 2) About half way home the engine light came on again. IT took 4 mechanics and 3 trips back down to CarWeb before they admitted there was a problem covered by my warranty and agreed to fix it. 3) About a week later, my car began to overheat. I called the owner of CarWeb 3 times over the next 24 hours to try to get him to pick up the car and have it fixed according to my warranty. After getting no response, I let the mechanic AAA towed it to to fix it. There was a leak of some sort and it cost $500 to fix. A week later the owner claimed he was on vacation in California and "had no service". When I asked him to reimburse me for the money I spent fixing the car (this was a clause in the warranty agreement) he refused and said I misunderstood the terms of the contract (I am a lawyer- I did not misunderstand). 4) Even after all of this, the engine light was still on in my car. Eventually I brought it to CarWeb and left it with them for 2 days to get it taken care of. After 4 days I had not heard from them so I began calling. After 6 days with no word I started calling a LOT. After 9 days I called and left a fairly strongly worded voicemail stating that if I did not receive a call back from them within 24 hours I would call the sheriff and tell him that they had embezzled my car. Finally I got a call back telling me they weren't sure what was wrong. Another week and a half later they said there was something wrong with the cars computer, and it needed to be sent to a Chrysler dealership. 3 days later I left work early and drove down to CarWeb to pick up my car. After waiting an hour they told me they were driving it back from the dealership the light came back on, so they had to bring it back. I went home empty-handed again. A few days after this they told me the dealership couldn't fix it and it needed to be sent to Detroit for a new computer. This is 12 weeks from the day I bought the car, and nearly 5 weeks since I had last seen it. 5) About 2 weeks after getting it back, without any warning from my cars onboard computer, the car overheated again. There was a leak and I didn't know about it because rather than having a functioning computer, it looks like they just bypassed the cars warning systems. I paid another $700 to have this fixed myself. 6) 3 months went by - Then it got hot and I tried to turn on the air conditioning. Not only does the air conditioning not work, but it is broken behind the dashboard, and labor costs for fixing it are around $1500. This would be frustrating, since a broken AC isn't really a problem you expect to find in a car with 75,000 miles on it (although I'm beginning to doubt if this is even the cars true mileage), but it was one I was willing to fix for my own comfort. BUT THEN my mechanic calls me and it turns out, someone had installed a cable to bypass the ACs pressure switch basically to mask a major, $1500 problem with the air conditioner until well after more damage was done but my warranty had expired. He said that there is no reason someone would jerry-rig it like this unless they were trying to hide the leak. 7) After all of this, I wanted to take my car on vacation to the beach. Our house was over a sand-dune which required 4WD. I switched my car into 4WD and started gaining speed... then we sunk. I brought the car to my mechanic (who I'm sure at this point suspects I have some sort of romantic infatuation with him considering how often he sees me), and was told that I have a broken cable, which is no big deal, but the cable broke because of a seized lever. He said that he wasn't sure what happened, but as soon as he loosened the lever he realized that the transfer switch was busted, so he went to work on that. It didn't take him long to realize that the only problem with the switch (which would have alerted me to the fact the lever was seized had it been working and prevented further problems) was that a screw had *somehow* become lodged behind it, making the car think the 4WD was operational. He was hesitant to say that the screw was definitely put there to hide the fact the 4WD was broken, but he wouldn't say that's NOT what happened. This was an $800 fix. CarWeb should be shut down and anyone who works there should seriously be in prison for being liars and thieves. read more

My girlfriend and are looking for a Toyota Sequoia, after searching around we decided on a black 2006 from carweb, just came in from auction which was no big deal. We made an agreement from last Saturday to pick up the vehicle today (Friday after) after driving from culpeper to rt17 in Falmouth. The truck was still not ready, and stated it wouldn't be ready until Sunday, they did offer to give us a loaner until Sunday as we had plans for our new vehicle, the owner agreed to put gas in the loaner to assist for their mishaps, as my gf gets into the loaner she noticed only 1/4 tank gas, she goes back in to the owner to ask, he then gets rude, asks for the keys and then says deals off. That's no way to do business, if they would have called and kept on touch with us stating or was going to take a few extra days, great no problem, but no one even called to keep us informed at that, we had to call them, who even said on Thursday the vehicle was ready to go. I'll never go back, nor send any business to them, sad thing is I am looking for a small 4x4 truck for myself as well as my son's first car next spring. I wish there was an option to give ZERO stars!!! I traveled 6 hours to purchase a vehicle from this dealership only to experience a RUDE, CONDESCENDING, unprofessional owner. I was talked down to, made fun of and treated like I was an idiot. He told me he had talked to me for 15 mins already and that his time was precious and he was wasting it on me. He mocked my financial situation, and put me on hold, however he did not mute the phone and he made rude comments about me to other employees in the room and I sat there for 2 mins listening to it. I have never in my life experienced such ignorant behavior by someone who is suppose to be the owner of a business. Instead of listening and helping me get some answers or resolution to the issue I was having with them, he just wanted to continue talking to me like I was garbage... The only positive thing in this situation was another gentleman got on the phone with me and actually listened and talked to me like I was a person. If I could trade this vehicle in and wipe my hands clean of this dealership I could... I don't know how this man can run a business with his attitude toward people. If I could leave a 0 star I would. The only great thing about this place is Mallie, the car salesman. I bought a car here a few days ago. It failed emissions the next day. I brought it in today to get the breaks done and was completely humiliated at the way the mechanic- or whoever he was, since there seems to be a smorgasbord of people just randomly walking around this tired looking establishment- was treating me. I was told I would receive a rental, the day I bought the car, when I bring it in to get it serviced. I'm 7 months pregnant, with a baby at home and an elementary school child about to get off the bus.. no rental. He laughed and snickered to me how ridiculous that would be, for me to use a rental.. to go home to my children.. I'm so unbelievably upset, and disappointed in this poor excuse of a car lot. Anyway.. don't buy a car here. You'll have to get it serviced anyway because there will be something wrong with it. After buying countless used cars over the years, I have to say that buying my Toyota Tundra from these guys was the most laid back low stress and speedy process ever. We drove about 60 miles to check out the Tundra and it was all they said it was. From the time I arrived I felt like a valued customer. The owner and his staff are very professional and go the extra mile to accommodate. The truck I bought had a small issue that I was easily overlooked and they had it taken care of by the time I arrived the next day to purchase it. I got the feeling that Car Web focuses on their product much more than most other dealers. The owner detailed to me the effort he makes to find clean rust free vehicles. My Tundra came from California and was spotless! Most dealers i have encountered during my search are selling cars from the auction center up north and are loaded with rust underneath! My boyfriend and I went to Car Web today and bought a Tacoma. Our salesman, Fred, was very accommodating, easy going, and knowledge. I have never been to a car dealership where everyone was so easy going and down to earth. They really care about the customers happiness and not so much "making a sale". Not once did they haggle him for more money down or try to offer him less money on his trade in (actually worked with him on that more than others have in past). Fred said "we will run the numbers; if it works great...if not then we will shake hands and be friends". From the test drive to signing the papers with Harvey (finance) it was all so easy. I gave them one star because I can't do 1/2 or 0. I thought I was smarter than all those reviewers who had problems. I even took the vehicle to another mechanic who looked at it. Unfortunately Pohanka works with them so they didn't "find" any problems. Carweb assured me there were no problems and that they had put $2k into fixing it. 2 days later I had mechanical problems. I took it to the closest mechanic and they found a plethora of problems. Some were covered by the warranty I purchased... most were not. When I called Carweb, they said they would not reimburse me for anything. He said I should have called him first. So, they tell me it is perfectly fine, I'm supposed to drive it over an hour with problems to have them give me more run around??! No..look the cars look fabulous; They do a great clean up job, but don't be fooled... they will not take care of it if you have problems. Buyer beware!!!!!!! read more

This was such a disappointing experience. My husband and I are both teachers and we have 2 young children. We were looking for a dependable and affordable vehicle that would be comfortable for our family. We had researched a lot and decided on a Toyota Highlander. Car Web had one that had pretty low mileage. We bought the vehicle in the summer of 2016. We had the vehicle for barely a month and the air conditioning went out and several warning lights were appearing on the dash. They agreed to look at it and claimed they fixed it. However, shortly after, the air conditioning went out again. They wanted to charge us to fix the ac. I was adamant about how unfair this practice was and they finally conceded and said they would replace the compressor at no cost to us. Fast forward a few more months and guess what? The ac went out again. I was so sick of dealing with a bunch of people that were clearly lying to me. So, I took it to a Toyota dealership. There was no "new" compressor put on our car at Car Web. We are now paying $1600 to replace the evaporator, not to mention all the warning lights that popped up within a week after we bought the vehicle. In total, we have to pay over $3000 to fix a car that we are still making payments on for the next 3 1/2 years. As teachers, my husband and I are public servants. I am appalled by the dishonesty shown at Car Web. I will never buy a car from them again and I will make sure that everyone I know understands how they practice business (with no integrity). read more
