I was very disappointed with my appointment last Tuesday afternoon. I had tried for weeks to get an earlier appointment without success. My appointment began with xrays. That was followed with cleaning. Another person came in to relate to me what they were recommending. To my knowledge I have no cavities. Never the less They have recomend- ed 4 crowns. The cost of this work amounts to $4625. I can't ever re- member a crown being required unless a tooth was damaged from decay or a crack. Your receptionist is a liability. She is not friendly. If I could give zero starts I would. My experience at Cardinal Dental was horrible. I went in and they told me I needed five crowns. I had three done the first round which were my top molars on both sides. I got the permanent crowns on December 14 and today...February 18 they are still extremely sensitive to cold and hot and very painful when I bite down. I can't even chew on either side without it hurting! So I decided to get a second opinion today. New, trustworthy, dentist today said she could only see that one of the crowns was absolutely necessary and one of them should have had a root canal before the crown was put on. She looked at the bottom two molars that they said needed crowns and told me that she could fix them with fillings which will cost me $36 as opposed to the $1990 that Cardinal was going to charge me for the crowns. DO NOT go to this dental office. They are ONLY in it for the money and will do completely unnecessary work so they can drive up the cost. read more

Been coming to this dentist office for a few years now, myself and 2 children. Usually we have good experiences, but today seemed very different. From the minute we walked in the front doors the atmosphere was very different. The front staff was not happy or polite at all, seemed annoyed at our presence. I am not a helicopter parent, but my daughter is 11 and was nervous about her first cavity. She had asked me at home if I could stay with her during the appointment and I said I would. I had no reason to believe it would be any different as the week before both kids had their regular cleanings and I was invited to wait with them. The staff allowed me to join her in the procedure room and offered me a chair to sit on next to her. After they numbed her, I went to check on my younger son in the waiting room. When I asked to return to my daughter the person at the front desk said I could not. There was a claim that it was bc of Covid, however we all had our masks on and there was 1 other patient in the entire (large) office. I didn't argue or fight them, I didn't feel this called for a scene or call a manager over to debate this. If this is their policy that is fine, it is their business to manage. Also, I would like to confirm that the tech and the Dentist were very polite and professional. However, as a mother, any health care provider that blocks or prevents a parent or guardian from accessing their child, even during the appointment (other than for obvious issues like while xraying...) is not a Dr. I can support. I do realize this is not a "children's" dentist, but the lack of flexibility or willingness to allow a parent to be present when a minor is in their care has now cost them 3 patients. read more

I'm a huge scaredy-cat when it comes to dentists but the staff was SO nice. They were so easy-going and were professional yet personable. The X-Ray tech, Bianca, was very helpful and friendly. I'm not entirely sure whats a good price when it comes to dentistry or even how good my insurance is in covering fillings and such things. The work I had to get done will cost in four figures, several cavities and four wisdom teeth. Regardless, the guy in one of the front office helped with all those concerns, it was AWESOME. read more

So sad this place isn't what it used to be. I loved going to the dentist but after two terrible visits, I will be searching for a new dentist. On both days everyone was rushed and rude almost like my presence was an inconvenience. On the second visit I had a cleaning and the hygienist was so incredibly rough I am missing chunks off of my gums. When I asked if he could be more gentle, he pretended to clean around for a minute and said I was done. I've had many cleanings in my life but this is the first in under 10 minutes. I walked out feeling like my teeth weren't cleaned and bloody gums to show. The hygienist's phone kept going off in my ear so he could have been in a rush as he took time to make his lunch order while "cleaning" my teeth. So happy that we found Dr. Michels. Not only does he do great work, he is very friendly and takes the time to explain things to you and make you feel comfortable. He saved a tooth for me that other dentists were going to extract and helped me avoid the cost of an implant. Joe and Maddie are both great staff also and make going to the dentist fun. If you're lucky, Joe may even gift you with some singing during your procedure. Michelle also does a phenomenal job and even smoothed a little knick I had in my tooth. Called to schedule an appointment for my two kids and I to start seeing this dental office. It's a convenient location with later hours than most dental offices so I was excited to give them a try. The person who answered was nice, however, when I asked to make cleaning appointments in the afternoon I was told they only had appts in Nov which was fine with me. We started scheduling and appointment for a specific date then she said I needed to come for a consultation first then come back for the cleaning. I explained with my work schedule and kids in school that didn't work for me. Basically that's the only option offered so I elected to take my business elsewhere. What a bummer. I've met Dr. Nathan Kalinowski at Stanford Plastic/Oral/Dental and Maxillofacial Clinic, where I have been a Patient for quite some time already. I was referred to this Clinic by my Stanford ENT Doctor who suspected that my Chronic Sinusitis was very much affected by the infections and other Dental problems. Which was definitely the right direction. I am a Stanford Patient with an "extremely complicated Medical History" (words of one of my Doctors there), all of my many Doctors are at Stanford Clinics. But my "Medical Complexity" didn't scare Dr. Kalinowski. He is a great PROFESSIONAL, KIND, CARING, COMPASSIONATE Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) who truly dedicates all his professional skills to help us - his Patients! But most of all - I trust Dr. Kalinowski, ABSOLUTELY! He is my DENTIST on whom I can depend on with any of my Dental issues, always! At one time, Dr. Kalinowski sent me to his Private Practice Clinic in Palo Alto Downtown - CARDINAL DENTAL, to have a special Dental X-Ray done (Stanford didn't have special equipment for this X-Ray). And again, I was treated with such kindness and caring by everybody in this Clinic, from the assistants at the Front Desk to the technicians. Of course, I will always come back to CARDINAL DENTAL Clinic when I need to. And, of course, Dr.Kalinowski is my Dentist there, for whatever problems I might have. We relocated to the Ashburn area about a year ago and were looking for a competent, caring and attentive dental practice. Having been involved with the Dental industry for many years, one of the first indicators of a cohesive and professional office is the reception upon entering. I am totally impressed by Becky's attention to detail, thoroughness in researching my Dental Insurance to help outline a comprehensive treatment plan. Dr. Ashton's Hygienist, Heather was not only very capable but a pleasure to work with. Finally, Dr. Ashton is a pro. I have 27 crowns and many implants having lost my teeth from Agent Orange exposure in SE Asia over 50 years ago as well as Hepatitis. Dr. Ashton did not have a lot to work with, but managed to secure a crown that has now adhered for over a month....which may even surprise him! His office is well equipped and utilizes current technology. The practice has at least three dentists that I am aware of, and numerous support staff. They follow COVID protocols and I felt quite comfortable. I have recommended that my wife transfer to his office for her next appointment. read more

I was referred by a dear friend to Cardinal Dental. I was seeing for the first time today and I am BEYOND Pleased! The entire staff is out of this world! Starting with the receptionist, dental assistant Megan, Hygienist Nora and Office Manager Michelle. The Hygienist Nora was OUTSTANDING!! The best Hygienist I've ever been seen by. She was so careful while doing the cleaning and explained everything she was doing. I just have to say, I wish I could give Cardinal Dental a 100 star review!! I've always been nervous of the dentist. I had gotten checked by another dental office a year ago and found out I needed 2 fillings. They were going to charge me $400 with the same insurance I have now and judged my lifestyle because I have a tongue ring both times I went back there. Needless to say, I wanted to get these fillings taken care of. My coworker found Cardinal on Yelp and they took our insurance! She had a check up first, love them, then I booked my appointment. My check up went so great. I felt relaxed because they knew how to calm my nerves and talk me through everything! Megan was great from beginning to end! The front receptionist, Irene (hopefully I got that right) was so kind and helpful as well. When I came back today for my cleaning and filling, it was the quickest, most amazing experience I've ever had at a dental office! Ashley made me feel at ease as she numbed me and took care of my deep cleaning. After that, Megan and Dr. Sam Siami worked together so well as a team and got my filling done in a matter of minutes! In the long run, the same fillings only cost me $100 with the same insurance here! I will be a lifetime client of theirs and will be referring all my family and friends! Very disappointing. Thru delta dental i've been coming to this office for several years, but policies have changed. For the first time ever I had a $10 copay for office visit for my free teeth cleaning. Then after about 10 minutes of manual scraping for plaque the hygienist said that it's time for polishing. I said that my previous cleaning visit involved a drill for removing plaque. I explained that I'm on chemotherapy and I have a low immune system so I need more cleaning. the hygienist said that she could do more. Then she finished up with polishing. After everything I said this is the first cleaning I've ever had with no flossing. She said that they don't do that anymore. I will be switching to another dental office. read more

Changed owners and I had to switch dentist. They wanted my husband to have 10 fillings (he had no pain or discomfort and was completely surprised) and me to have a root canal (I had no pain or idea) and we both sought 2nd opinions and none of this procedures were necessary. I hadn't been to the dentist in over 2 years, so you could imagine the struggle it was to finally schedule this appointment. Especially since I had changed my insurance and needed to find a new office. I had heard good things about Dr. Siami and his team so I figured I would check it out. My whole experience, from start to finish, made me wonder why I waited so long to go back to the dentist! The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and engaged in some fun, lighthearted conversation with me. This helped to calm my nerves. The assistants made the x-ray process quick and easy. My hygienist, Ashley, was a champ! I asked for a mirror to see what she was working on in my mouth (never again!) and I now have so much respect for what they do! She explained everything to me in great detail and gave me some helpful tips on how I can keep my gums/teeth healthy and strong. Dr. Siami was great as well, and gave me the best news of the day... no cavities! I highly recommend Cardinal Dental. The facilities are clean and the staff took great care of me. Love this dentist and employees, I had a sensitive tooth was hurting from cold and hot and called the office they were able to get me right in, it was right before the weekend and couldn't get an appointment with the specialist until Monday, so I went in and they were able to laser the top of my root to eliminate the pain until I could get in. Our family of five has been going to Cardinal dental since the beginning of 2018. I tried Cardinal Dental when I needed a second opinion after another La Mesa dental office said I needed cavities filled ($700 worth - after insurance). I've had 3 cleaning exams since then at Cardinal Dental and do not need those "cavities" filled (they are stains on my back molar from my love of coffee and tea). This gave me confidence in the integrity of this office! We've also had two teenagers who have had their wisdom teeth removed. Our experiences with every staff member, before and after the staff change, has been nothing less than exceptional. The office is beautiful, well-kept, with advanced technology. Wow! I very hesitantly came in for Cleaning, X-rays and Exam to CD. And although I am a nervous Nellie when it comes to anything that includes metal tools in my mouth, I was greeted by a smiling Amanda (who had previously and patiently scheduled and re-scheduled my appt. several times for me). And then, before I knew it, a very friendly Allie then introduced herself (talk about positive energy) took some X-rays and patiently went over some areas of tarter/plaque concerns. She explained everything she was going to do in the cleaning process, which was a bit more than a general cleaning but without the injections for a deep cleaning. Voila' all done! After arriving and checking in I was told that the general dentist did not make dentures and couldn't help me, couldn't even give me the name of a dentist that could. What a waste of time and a scam. I went in last Saturday to get my wisdom teeth removed, the last item on the list of things I needed. Overall it was great. There was an issue with the preauthorization from my insurance, but Irene from cardinal dental made sure to keep in contact with me and my insurance company leading up to the appointment to try and push it forward, and it worked. The whole process on Saturday went fairly smooth, I was very nervous but everyone was comforting and helped ensure it would be a smooth experience. I don't even remember leaving the office, but my fiancé tells me everyone was very helpful while I was still loopy and helped get me to the car. They had me come in for a follow up on Monday just to make sure everything was healing fine. Great overall experience, the staff is definitely the best part of it for me.
