Laura warmly greeted me and instantly made me feel welcome. The studio is spacious and still practicing Covid guidelines because there are markers for where to place your yoga mat. You have to bring your own yoga mat and wear a mask. However, I love all the props that are provided! I used the blocks and pillows for extra support during stretches. Laura had such a calming and relaxing voice. I loved how she asked the class what part of the body we would like to focus on. She came around each person and helped assist with poses which I really appreciated! I got the most out of the class with her feedback for me! This class had me so relaxed and zen I felt I melted into my mat. Thank you Laura, looking forward to more classes here!

Where some therapists will skip over or barely focus on hard to find knots, Joshua finds them and digs in to loosen and melt the knots away. He has the skills to find those hidden knots. Honestly worried my belly and stiffness would slow the group up. I was so happy with the results! Denise is encouraging sweet and knowledgeable I have an impinged rotator cuff which stopped me from doing some of the moves. She helped me reposition and I could do it. At the beginning of our 1 hour session I couldn't raise my arm much higher then perpendicular to my shoulder. At the end I could almost raise it to the roof. It was liberating. I would highly recommend this welcoming intimate studio to regain your strength with a non judging knowledgeable and encouraging atmosphere.

She has an…read moreattention to detail, hands on approach, that makes sure you are comfortable and doing the poses in the way that suits you best. She asked everyone before we began class if anyone had any ailments so she could tailor her focus or show you alternate ways to do poses to best suit you. She walks around to each person to allow guidance. She "picked" on me as I was a newbie but I really appreciated it. I put on my learning cap and really tried to absorb everything and try out the different resources. Oh you've got a bean bag or an eye mask, sure I'll try those out. I had never taken a restorative type class. Here you use several props to support your body, while focusing on one part of your body, you relax the rest of your body. Once you find the perfect balance, you hold each position for an extended period of time. In the classes I took in the past you moved through the poses so fast you never really felt what you were doing. This was much more focused. The music was beautiful, the light was dim, and she offered words of enlightenment along the way. It was very relaxing, rejuvenating, mind opening and perfect. I can't wait to try out the other classes the Benicia Yoga and Wellness has to offer. Thank you Laura!!
